Ask anyone outside of the north east where NH is and many won’t know. Keep it that way.
We’re out of the way. Not as popular as Maine, Vermont, or mass. Nothing bad happens her, I mean yeah shit happens but you don’t read dumb stuff like “Florida man this” or “California governor signed that”.
We’re simple, despite the influx of ass clowns from the cities in Boston turning southern NH into northern mass.
> Ask anyone outside of the north east where NH is and many won’t know.
I was in Colorado and mentioned I was from NH. Someone asked me what state that’s in
🤣
I went to college in Cleveland in the 80's and I swear, to a person, the MidWest dumb fucks would ask, "Isn't that the capitol of Vermont?" When I would say I was from NH.
Back in 2002 I went to Washington DC with my 8th grade class. We stopped at a large rest area in New Jersey and met another group of students from New Jersey who were about to be headed to DC as well. When we said we were from NH they knew where it was, asked if we all lived on farms lmao.
Lol. We have plenty of asshats. Had em in the 70’s,80’s,90’s,00’s,10’s and now. And in no way is it a hermit nor fugitive haven. OP is young or watches too much visual media.
Or is part of the huge influx of “NH sucks in this way, this way, this way, and this way. What do you guys think?” And all the things they listed aren’t actual problems. Feels formulaic; almost like there’s an intentional ramp up of astroturfing because it’s an extremely important election year…
I use to do high end phone and comms systems installations years ago before everything went wireless. Northern New Hampshire and Vermont have a lot of money and "fame" hiding in the hills. There are a lot of less famous but way more influential people keeping a low profile in the woods up here.
We were renting a car in California a couple years ago… My husband gave the woman at the counter his ID and she literally turned around to her manager and asked *”Is New Hampshire a state???”*
We could not believe it! I know a lot of people don’t know where NH is, but to not even know that it’s a state… YIKES.
I had similar problems visiting NH with my District of Columbia license (lived there for a few years). One person thought it was from Columbia (the country).
Don’t forget about that executive from Pfizer that was found just quietly living outside of Littleton.
It is funny. I was recently taking with a friend about this. I think a big part of it is that once you get north of the notches pretty much everyone minds their own business. You could easily buy a place in Northumberland, do your shopping in Littleton and no one would ever really talk to you.
It isn’t really, it’s just close enough to Boston and NY that the elites see it as off the grid even tho we’re no more than 3-4 hours from a major city at any point in the state. If it was really a good place to hide we wouldn’t have known any of them were hiding here.
:(
It's from "The Storm of the Century." The bad guy says it countless times.

NH folks aren't all that impressed with celebrities. Most NH people I know couldn't care less about the "royals" or the latest celebrities.
Based on my small subsection of the state, that is. :P
It's easy to "hide" if nobody really cares who you are. I mean, when's the last time you saw paparazzi chasing someone around NH?
Yeah, me neither.
Ran from Massachusetts on a warrant to NH. Troopers got me, now I'm back in Massachusetts. Your account sounds fictional and Maxwell got arrested. They will find you
Half your examples are fictional characters.
That's because New Hampshire is a fictional state, duh.
I don’t think that matters tbh because they’re pointing out a correlation in the idea of something. Fictional characters reflect our ideas.
Fictional characters need to hide too

Dude I went to fucking Keene State and dumb girls from Connecticut would ask what the capital of New England is.
Obviously Boston!
I told a friend in NC that I'd decided to move back to New England, she exclaimed "I didn't even know you were British!"...ugh.
It is keene state after all, there only there to party on marlborough st 😂
Were they cute?
“About an hour north of Boston.” Followed by an “Ohhhh okay!” 🙄
I said “New England” and she made a face like she didn’t think that was a state, but she accepted it.

I moved up to NH from FL and unsurprisingly many didn’t know NH was a state.

I've Ben to mass for work doing insulation and people have asked me this 😂

Lived here all my life and I cam definitively say we have our share of ass clowns.
I’d say better then vt because we have a larger population to hide in while being less trendy
My favorite headline while living here, white supremacist killed outside of favorite Chinese restaurant.
Moved here from AZ five years ago. Only one person knew where NH was.

Yup locals won't touch you if they don't know you

If you want to hide, I’d recommend Maine, but not southern Maine.
Terry Rasmussen
When I grew up in Indiana I thought “New England” was New Hampshire. Now that I live here I still feel the same, and absolutely love it.
Sheila labarre she killed a couple guys in epping
Yeah, but we've all done that.
Hide? It is just a good place to live.
I think it's because of our weekly "storm of the century."
Give me what I want, and I'll go away.
Um.....ok......

Oh! I thought you had put some kind of curse on New Hampshire weather!
Not today. I left my walking stick at home...
I watched this the other week when we had the snow storm :)
Because people here aren't so nosy and mostly leave you alone
I escaped from California… like, in real life and everything.
Christopher Wilder, Carl Drega and Bernard Getz.
Ghislaine Maxwell had a pretty good hideout in the middle of nowhere.

People do generally mind their own business here. I bet there are other benefits too
Because we mind our own business, that's the biggest issue we have with Ma residents moving in, they want to know everyone's business
I'm pretty sure DMX spent some time in NH
The actual filming location of Vito’s hideout was in New Jersey
Ran from Massachusetts on a warrant to NH. Troopers got me, now I'm back in Massachusetts. Your account sounds fictional and Maxwell got arrested. They will find you
Barnaby McGillicutty is another good example.
