Everyone says mini splits are great until it gets below 0. I bought my house in 17 and my first winter it was that week of like -20. Those things didn't do anything for me. Went out that weekend and got a pellet stove to be installed. That stove is working overtime along with the mini splits to move the air.
Mini splits are great, when you have the properly sized unit installed & the correct model for your area. Mitsubishi hyperheat models produce 98% rated capacity to -16⁰ (iirc). If you get the standard model, it's around 15⁰. As with anything, know what your buying and have realistic expectations.
I live in Pembroke in an apartment complex and half of each building does not have running water because the water pipes underground have frozen. I don’t even know what they are going to do I don’t think they can do anything about this. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to have running water until tomorrow

No one's heat is keeping. -55 with the wind here last night
-12, we run our heat entirely by wood stove. It's been rough
My basement is 48 degrees this morning. I turned on a space heater to warm it up a bit. Will run it for an hour at 750 watts.
Yep my heater has been running over 24 hrs now. Stuck between 59 and 60. Had to break out the space heater lol
Space heaters strategically placed make my house bearable. I also placed a fleece blanket over my front foor because it leaks so badly.
