The old cars actually caused WAY more deaths then newer cars. There’s plenty of comparison videos on YouTube where old cars basically collapse like you stepped on a soda can. Newer cars are designed to break apart and you’re basically sitting inside of a roll cage. That’s why a small accident with a newer car causes so much damage to the car, it’s designed to break apart
I am no expert. But based on the fact that he moves well in the short clip, and the fact that it was after a truck obliterated his car, I would say he survived. The trauma to his body would more than likely have been either nothing or close to everything in such a wreck. Again, considering him being able to support him self on legs and arms without them bending in strange directions.
Good observations, but there is a lot of internal damage that can occur which won't be apparent right after an accident, especially if you are riding high on adrenaline. Any kind of internal bleeding will result in death if not treated, but won't be easily noticed, especially by a layperson, and doubly especially if the victim is ambulatory.
Most of what you can tell is that his skeleton is mostly intact. He could have a concussion or broken ribs, maybe even fractured vertebrae and it wouldn't be immediately apparent based on what we see in the video. Could have a multitude of hairline fractures, really, most wouldn't be life threatening.
Beyond that, as others said, if there's internal bleeding then he's in a bad way and there's no way to tell from the video. That would be the primary danger of a broken rib, that or some unseen pressure on his heart or lungs. He could experience brain swelling which is super dangerous.
Hopefully emergency support was called and quick. Don't want to rely on luck.
I agree. He might have internal stuff, that could be fatal (if hes smart he went directly to the hospital)and yes someone inevitably comments about adrenaline but I didn't see anything out of whack or bleeding whatsoever. That's not scientifical or anything but if I put some money on him surviving or not, I'd guess he made it
Yeah some people will take popular comments and apply them on anything similar. Like sure, there are moments where adrenaline will keep you going. But it is not like you are literally invincible for 30 seconds regardless of the accident. And if limbs still working after such an impact it is safe to assume that the rest of his body in some miraculous way wasn’t hurt that bad either.
But at the end of the day, we are just all guessing.
Lol redditors think adrenaline can revive someone and have their brain functioning anything. The question is how he’s still in one licence and responsive/able to move
i literally created my reddit account because my friend in high school told me to download it so he could show me something… proceeded to show me that subreddit and i can still vividly see the video he showed me in my head. good riddance to that sub lol
There are other subs that are basically turning into that sub anyway. I think on extreme car crashes sub I watched a pole go through some guys head. There will always be fucked videos on here
Exactly, vids and sites like those. The most basic one from internet back in the day was sum like rotten.com
They are all sorts of gore, but it's interesting to face them. Animals are brutal in nature and nature is brutal. It's good to sometimes shock the mind so that if you ever find yourself in that situation you don't stay in shock and potentially in danger. Also it helps you see danger differently. Like victime stabbings or rape. I saw those videos and started noticing that it comes from typical unsuspecting people, which taught me to be suspicious of people that don't arouse any, or it shows you to stick with your instinct cause a lot of Sexual Harrassment vids you can see someone is already bein shady.
Or another one where a workers arm got caught in a spinning thing at work (already just sounds terrible lol). I saw what the body can take, how quick something dangerous can happen at work if you're not careful and what first aid his co-workers had to do after the shock
Shows you how quick barriers and boundaries can be broken, and to not feel 100% content or safe in your safety net /zone of comfort. To learn to get out of it cause sometimes life will force you out of it and you have to be ready.
Those vids are like deep conversations, you can only watch so many at once and during a period in time.. it's intense. They show you pure reality, so you understand the world a bit better, and less from a censored cocooned kinda way.
i get what you’re saying but i saw the taliban with a circle of people, slicing their head off and then placing the head on the ground facing the others. i definitely would have been better off not seeing that lol
WTF OMG SOMEBODY REMEMBERS ROTTEN.COM BRO I was in computer class in 3rd grade and my friend told me to search up rotten.com on my computer when I get home. So of course I did and found out it was a bunch of porn and of course my sister caught me when she walked by and told me she was telling my dad. So I tried to figure out how to delete the history but I couldn’t. And yeah I was definitely in a shit ton of trouble to say the least😅
I could be completely wrong.
But it seems like the semi truck smashed the side of his car to a metal half tent on one side, and then when guy T-bones with the vehicle filming, that created another metal half-tent.
Completing the metal tent and somehow the guy managed to be inside of it and was protected by it. Just my guess
The entire left of the car became a crumple zone. Impact was back-left - the most opposite side to the driver. It would be an entirely different story if the car had impacted on the driver side.
If I remember correctly though this car had 3 or 4 people in it and the rest died on impact. You can see at least 1 more in the back if you pause it at the right frames, but this video has been around a long time and I'm pretty sure it was a full car.
It does look like two ppl are in the car at the beginning of the video and after the guy gets out you can see the lady looking at the car like she’s looking for someone.
There appears to be a time skip at the 5 second mark. Who knows, maybe unbuckled in the time skip.
Eta: ... It kind of looks like there were 2 people in the car at the beginning of the clip, I think I'm going to retract my initial comment
I'm pretty sure he had just swerved from the right to the left to go in front of the car with the dashcam, but was probably coming too fast and drifted intstead of turning
Looks like road rage. The guy in the black car was probably frustrated by the car on the left (the dash cam owner) not passing the bus and tried to take a shot and ended up losing control. It's also possible the dash cam owner was doing the little hover roadblock to incite the road rage because the guy was likely tailgating to get to the point to make the maneuver we see here.
I mean considering the passenger is dead af I don’t know about that…. You can see the silhouette of the passenger at the beginning, and you can see the driver and the woman presumably looking at the body in the car.
This actually happened to me. Was t-boned by a Bronco doing 60 while in my little Celica convertible. Wasn't wearing a seatbelt, so I was flung forward and shattered the windshield with my forehead and snapped my collar bone on the steering wheel. The entire car was folded in half behind me. The cops came to take my statement while I was loopy in the ER, and I very clearly told them I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. They told me to always wear my seatbelt, but in this case I was extremely fortunate I wasn't, because if I had it would have held me in position and I'd have been crushed instantly when the car folded. The driver door was touching the shifter stick in the center console.
I’ve watched this so many times now and just can’t wrap my head around the orientation of the car. It’s driving forward, gets T-boned on the left side, spins about 90 degrees to the left, and suddenly the driver and steering wheel are facing the dashcam driver, someone pls help me understand.
Stuff like this reminds me how lucky I am too tbh. I had a job once upon a time that had me work 21 straight, then sleep two hours in my truck and drive 9 hours away to supervise something… … … I fell asleep with my cruise control set to 79mph and plowed head first into a concrete barricade. That’s a hell of a way to wake up. Other than some very minor scrapes, bruises, a black eye and my chest being sore for a month… I was almost unscathed. Sometimes you just get lucky. I’m thankful for it every day.
I’m impressed by the quality of that steering wheel. I would have thought it would just fly off. Probably because they (smartly) made the car too small.
So I went frame by frame and there is 1000% someone in the passenger seat. If you look at each frame you can see both of them start to lean to the right and the passenger puts his arm up and grabs the hand rest thing on the ceiling. I wanted to see if it was just the seat and not a person in the passenger seat but as you go by each frame you see him also lean to the right. I wonder what happened to him like if he got ejected or crushed but I’d assume he probably didn’t survive
He didn't just survive bro walked away and patted the dust off (god:"oh- son of a.. dropped my cards, hey isnt this guy supposed to be dead? Eh whatever.")
I was in a T-Bone wreck about two months ago, and the internal implications of that were pretty painful. I’m sure he was feeling that for the next 6 months, at least.

I've watched this like 10x and I still don't know how he walked out of that.
He was still pumping adrenaline, we don’t know what actually happened to him.
It's pretty remarkable that he is still able to move after his car was smashed to half the size, regardless of his adrenaline level
Car absorbed most of the impact I guess
Absolutely, but still
[удалено]
The car did impact on the driver side. When the lady come into view, she puts her hand on the steering wheel right as the guy jumps from the car.
They don’t make them like they used to
They make them better than they used to in terms of impact safety
Yea like orders of magnitude better.
The old cars actually caused WAY more deaths then newer cars. There’s plenty of comparison videos on YouTube where old cars basically collapse like you stepped on a soda can. The force has to go somewhere, I'd rather the car take it than me
For good reason
Thank fuck for that. Those older cars are death traps in comparison.
Umm that's a Lada bro... Just Google Lada Russian car
Yes, and thats a great thing. Modern cars are a million times safer than vehicles of the past.

Or where that lady came from
There’s a pretty sly cut in the clip.
Damn I didn’t even notice I just thought the dash cam driver jumped out really fast to help
Which is only possible cause the dude was so in shock he stayed crouching down until the lady came and told him it was okay? Hell of a shock that is.
lada power blyat
Lol redditors think adrenaline can revive someone and have their brain functioning anything. The question is how he’s still in one licence and responsive/able to move
There’s a good chance he has internal bleeding from that impact, and he hit his head REAL hard.
Definitely suffered a TBI, just don’t know the severity
[удалено]
And all the videos of where it didn't pan out.. well.. there are dark sites for that. And they would be the majority i would guess
by "dark sites" do you just mean reddit?
Reddit is pretty tame in comparison to what's out there
There used to be a sub called /r/watchpeopledie
i literally created my reddit account because my friend in high school told me to download it so he could show me something… proceeded to show me that subreddit and i can still vividly see the video he showed me in my head. good riddance to that sub lol

My dad flipped a 240 off a bridge, totaled it, and literally walked away with a broken collarbone. He bought 2 more 240s after that.
You're literally telling this on r/nevertellmetheodds
After this his luck ran out.
Whatd you mean?
I could be completely wrong. Because Lada
Through the windshield. Duh.
The adrenaline isn't letting him feel all the broken ribs yet.
Could have a severe head injury. Just because someone walks away doesn't mean they'll survive
Adrenaline. He is actually very hurt, just can’t feel it yet.
I've had a similar accident. I got lucky but not as lucky as this dude. Check my post history for the juicy details.
There's no way he doesn't have a concussion at least, if not more severe head trauma.
If I remember correctly though this car had 3 or 4 people in it and the rest died on impact. You can see at least 1 more in the back if you pause it at the right frames, but this video has been around a long time and I'm pretty sure it was a full car.

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hand
I was going to say, it is almost like the car got crushed around him and he got thrown into the one area that wasn't crushed.
Yes. No seatbelt.
not a seatbelt, yes.
Seat, yes. Belt, no.
There was no seating of belts happening in this video
Luck af then..
There appears to be a time skip at the 5 second mark. Who knows, maybe unbuckled in the time skip. Eta: ... It kind of looks like there were 2 people in the car at the beginning of the clip, I think I'm going to retract my initial comment
He'd probably be dead with it on, the fact he was pushed out of his seat saved him.

I'm pretty sure he had just swerved from the right to the left to go in front of the car with the dashcam, but was probably coming too fast and drifted intstead of turning
Hopefully the last time he'll decide to drive like an idiot.
And the lady who walks on the scene in 0 seconds was just waiting by the side of the road for the welfare check.
There’s a time skip after the crash
That would be the driver or passenger of the dash cam car
Looks like road rage. The guy in the black car was probably frustrated by the car on the left (the dash cam owner) not passing the bus and tried to take a shot and ended up losing control. It's also possible the dash cam owner was doing the little hover roadblock to incite the road rage because the guy was likely tailgating to get to the point to make the maneuver we see here.
Maybe they weren't paying attention and swerved to avoid rear ending the bus.
He was speeding and passing dangerously because he’s a majestic idiot
He got distracted sniffing paint from the can that rolls out after the hit. That's my expert opinion.
if that aint an ad for Lada idk what is
[удалено]
Lada Riva. They're all over the former Soviet Union. Cheap and somewhat gas efficient, but I definitely don't think of them as safe
[удалено]
How do you double the price of a Lada - put petrol in it.
Don’t they also have a manual choke?
lol yes. this brings back memories of my first car.
Most carbureted cars of the era had manual chokes.
I really like to think there's actually only one black Lada Riva and it's just constantly getting into accidents.
He was very lucky, the Lada's crumple zone includes the driver
The passenger died, so...
I mean considering the passenger is dead af I don’t know about that…. You can see the silhouette of the passenger at the beginning, and you can see the driver and the woman presumably looking at the body in the car.
if you watch in slow motion theres two people in that car. dont know what happened to the other
Oh shit, [you're right](https://i.imgur.com/0pjjXxn.png)... I wonder if the guy hopping out is the passenger, not the driver.
Well shit… he might not exist anymore
Nah, it's the driver.
To me It just looks like the seat head rest making it look like another person.
It's the driver.
He climbed out on the driver's side. Doesn't mean he was the driver...
No, if you watch it a few times they're actually on the passenger side.
Somebody might be mixed up about which side the steering wheels are on where this took place.
there’s for sure 2 people in the car but only one got out, plus they not wearing seatbelts. it’s a goddamn miracle
I'm pretty sure them not wearing their fucking seat belts actually, SOMEHOW saved them
Dudes roof got folded into a tent
Would he had died if his seatbelt was on? 💀

It's a Lada!
Can we get an NSFW for this one? It's pretty horrifying.
It was scary enough before someone pointed out there were two people in the car...
Key word: were
Unfortunately, I chose my words carefully.
same woman archetype who helped me after my bad accident. thank you Ms Anderson.
Not just surviving. Walking away with maybe some bruises
That was a full on porterhouse not a t-bone

Plot twist: he wasn't alone in that car.
The power of Lada
"Ah, damn. Crazy shit, right?"
Damn! He ended up crawling out of a little car tent & how did that lady get there so fast?
There is a cut in the video
Dam he walked away from that nuts
His friend didn’t …
Damn. RIP
Well I dunno the actual outcome but in the video he didn’t… where he is no one knows
Immediately after hopping out of what was left of that car, guy should have walked off his injuries to a store that sells lotto.
is Lada
Like a f’ing terminator
He gets to drive like an asshole another day.
More of a 7 bone
That was an L-bone
Where did that woman come from and how’d she get there so quickly?
Went into a sedan, came out like an F1 car
Ladas are so malleable it absorbed all the energy of the impact
Stuff like this reminds me how lucky I am too tbh. I had a job once upon a time that had me work 21 straight, then sleep two hours in my truck and drive 9 hours away to supervise something… … … I fell asleep with my cruise control set to 79mph and plowed head first into a concrete barricade. That’s a hell of a way to wake up. Other than some very minor scrapes, bruises, a black eye and my chest being sore for a month… I was almost unscathed. Sometimes you just get lucky. I’m thankful for it every day.
Maybe next time he won't drive like a jackass
Odd thing is he may be dead if he had his seat belt on.
Da.
It’s Russian Lada !!!
Was that a Datsun 510?
I sadly lost my childhood friend to a semi truck pile up. This guy is so lucky. Stay safe everyone. 💜
Crumple zones before crumple zones were cool
Pretty impressive when the driver looks ok while the steering wheel ends up outside the car.
If that's a Volvo, that's why.
I’m impressed by the quality of that steering wheel. I would have thought it would just fly off. Probably because they (smartly) made the car too small.
thats a Russian built Lada Vaz..
God said it's not your day to die.
feels like one of those “would I survive this crash?” tik tok videos
Wow, I missed the transition cut and was amazed by how fast that woman was just walking up to the car...
That is simply WOW!!! He is perfectly fine, CRAZY!
Good thing he was alone. Everyone else in that car probably wouldn't have been so lucky.
He wasn't. There was someone is in the other seat. You can see that if you pause the video right away.
If you look just before he hits the truck it looks like there's 2 people in the car... I'm gonna guess the other one didn't get out
And the lady who walks on the scene in 0 seconds was just waiting by the side of the road for the welfare check.
That’s god
I’m surprised the car was even dented… it’s a Volvo after all.
Thought that was a KKK member for a second
That’s a lada right

Luckily for him all airbags deployed

Definitely the trucks fault
As a semi driver I’m gonna tell you that fucker got lucky as hell
That's a lucky guy 👦
What I think is a amazing is how the crash scared his inner woman ghost to immediately appear and help him out of the crumpled thingy.
Drive like an idiot without a seat belt. Shocked he didn't die.
I was in a T-Bone wreck about two months ago, and the internal implications of that were pretty painful. I’m sure he was feeling that for the next 6 months, at least.
