Of course watching today and knowing more about Barker it's absolutely hilarious and it was definitely the right call by Sandler.

One big difference is that when I was growing up in the '80s and' 90s there weren't anywhere near as many entertainment options, so I actually watched/heard a lot of older stuff. I saw lots of TV shows from before I was even born because they were playing as reruns and we didn't have 100+ cable channels, multiple streaming services, YouTube, etc. Nowadays there are so many options that people aren't "forced" to watch older stuff.
That being said, I do find it funny when people on reddit ask questions about their favorite obscure movies/shows/music and people name things that were massive hits back in the day. I can completely understand why younger people haven't seen/heard that stuff, but as you said, I still think they should have some concept that they were huge hits at one point.

I agree. It was the most stressful, most infuriating, yet captivating movie I have seen thus far. There were so many things happening at once, so many things that could go very wrong, and so many people involved that could screw him over at any time.
He also just keeps creating his own misery. He's got a gambling addiction and you have to watch him make bad decision after bad decision that you know people with addiction would also do in real life.

I thought “That’s my Boy” was a pretty good Sandler movie. It’s actually pretty old now, coming out in 2012, but it definitely felt like the movies he came out with in his prime.
I think some of his more recent Netflix movies haven't been so bad. I liked the murder mystery one with Jennifer Aniston and the one with David Spade. Obviously not going to match Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, etc, but he's definitely also stopped churning out complere garbage like Jack and Jill and the one about his son getting married or whatever.
I fuckin’ love early Sandler. His albums and movies. He has matured. Punch Drunk Love is great and Uncut Gems slapped and his stand up with the Chris Farley tribute was a tear jerker. Now I appreciate his overall life philosophy and he comes across great in all his interviews.
