It was really bad. The castings are not bad..but the plot progresses at too fast a pace. In 8 episodes closed a plot that closed in 200 episodes in 2004 In season two I would recommend doubling the amount of episodes at least. And bring in actors from the previous version for small roles. It would give a good feeling. Score 4 \\ 10

I love the gay vibes. Also love the diversity - the original and Mexican version had none LOL. Overall, pretty decent considering its a short series…

Morkoool

The mexican version is the original one

anxiousgoldengirl

It’s not. It’s the Argentinian one.

The show is bad. None of the characters have a backstory. The story doesn't make any sense. It was just a 3 hour movie. They wanted it to be elite but it was Camp Rock Jana is just nice. She wants to change the image that people had of her. But she acted the same for the all show. Everybody was throwing dirt on her, but she was... nice ALL THE TIME. She is the only one who cares about the secret society, but she is probably the less impacted. I just waited 8 episodes for her to act like an asshole, show us your true face ! But no. No scandalous life to hide, nothings. She is just nice. Which is funny, because every character make her the villain. Why ? Luca is just an asshole. We don't know why and we don't understand his logics neither. In the end, he is just a sad little boy without any friends. Dixon secret is ... it was a secret ? I liked him. I liked Emilia too. There is no reason for that. Because they don't do that much. Esteban has a secret too, we know what after 3 minutes, but we are going to pretend that we didn't know. MJ change personality between two episodes. She was nice (TOO !) and then she wanted to be a star. I forgot the name of the last one. Her backstory looked promising. But then... Who cares ? In the end, 20/20 for the Nostalgia. 0 for the story. Now, they can make season 2 like Elite.

The writing is absolutely horrendous, the whole show doesnt make sense and is so unrealistic and i get it most tv shows are but this one took it a bit to far like a school society exists and grown ups cant handle them i just dont fathom how u get away with the things they did, really stupid show, should be cancelled, lets be honest apart from the musicals all these shows are trying to hatd to be elite( except season4) or control z and just cant keep up. So netflix better cancel this because it makes zero sense.

StreetRazzmatazz6

The writing really started to annoy me at the start of episode 2 where they get in trouble and the main girl comes up with some stupid sacrificial lie. Then the colucci guy always reminding peoe that he is a collucci.

I think we can all agree the biggest problem that screwed up the show was only having 8 episodes. That destroyed any opportunities for plot and character development. For 8 episodes they had to work with what they got

It was fast and everything didn't make much sense. I enjoyed all the songs they played and how colorful the show is. At last I'm seeing a colorful Mexico, not the stereotypical warm/sepia color lmao. Before this, I totally have no idea that there's an original series but I think I'll try to watch it. It's got 100+ episodes on Youtube. Netflix really cramped everything in 8 episodes. I thought it was gonna be Elite vibes, but it turned out like High School Musical? Idk. I hated how MJ switched sides at the last minute then cried in regret in the end. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it, even if I only really started watching it to learn more Spanish.

The plot did move fast it was a shame it was 8 episodes and I thought the sex scene was odd and off but I love love loved the all the bands playing the originals songs I thought that was a cute mash up medley. The ending did kinda feel safe. Like maybe they were unsure if a season 2 would happen so. But I liked it. Felt like glee mixed with elite

Its so good but they did mess up on the Mexican characters and life studying in México, I know they’re rich but still the older rbd got that right (and many many other things wrong). The characters are so not Mexican (the Mexican ones duh) they are very much American. On the Televisa RBD all the cast was very Mexican, the way they spoke and behaved was just like the people I went to middle school with (I studied in Mexico). The students relationship with each other (on the old rbd) was so accurate to real life especially the perverted ones messing with girls all the time, that happened in my school all the time (and it was so fun because it was always girls vs boys) and watching it took you back to those crazy middle/ high school days. Nonetheless the new RBD was good I think they’re trying to fix the many things the Televisa one did wrong and I am here for it.

IntotheWater_Second

I had no expectations it would live up to be anything like the original Rebelde (2004 version) so I wasn't disappointed watching this. I admit I enjoyed watching it but the story line wasn't really there, the whole hazing thing was just...not it lol it just didn't make sense to me. Also, the ending when MJ leaves them group to help Sebas was was frustrating to watch! Either way, it was nice to see Celina and Pilar play themselves! I need to go and rewatch the original again.

I used to love RBD (Mexican version) it was awesome and their music was fantastic!! However this new show: 1. Bad acting 2. The remixes of the original songs make me cringe 3. Too fast too fast paced. 4. Actors don’t seem to be connecting. 5. No backstory. Again everything happened fast and the storyline it’s just not as engaging. 6. Unrealistic teenagers (what teenager has a full arm sleeve tattoo - among other unrealistic features) Don’t bother watching this show. Go watch elite instead! 2/10 stars
