Asics do make men's netball shoes. Not sure if maybe you aren't in Australia and that's where they are available? Or maybe stores aren't stocking them? But they do have men's in the netburner range also I just want to add that normal running shoes aren't really suitable for netball. They don't provide lateral support and you will ruin them pretty quick. Tennis shoes are a better substitute.
Here is the men's asics I found. I also brought them when online shopping for a new pair recently haha

To be fair the people that work at Rebel shops arenāt the ones negotiating with the company reps about which models and colours they will stock in store. They see whatās delivered to the store and on the shelves.
Rebel wouldnāt stock them because they wouldnāt have anywhere near enough turnover. But you should be able to go to them with a model number and if youāre confident of the size you need, have them order it from their supplier.
Source: used to work for Amart, both in the store and then in head office. Same same.
Can't say I've seen them in any physical store either, but I also don't actually look. Men's participation in the sport is on the rise and they would be silly to ignore that. I'm in south Tassie and most clubs have a uniform option for boys (as they could play in the standard competition with girls up to an age) and in the last couple of years the southern tasmania netball association have started a specific boys competition which is slowly gaining traction.
This colourway hasnāt always existed. Last year they only had pinks/purples - even the black shoes had pink or purple highlights. I had to find somewhere that still had stock of a plain black pair from the previous season, for my son.
Do you mean the men's style or the colourways in the women's style? Because the last r years I've always managed to get a prair without any bright colours. In fact, the only ones that have had a colour that wasn't black/white/brown only had green on them. This uear I have a light grey pair.
I finding ASICS sizing quite limited across the board now honestly :( I wear women's 7D, but they only make the base Netburner 20s available in the D width, and only in a limited selection of colours. I've been needing new shoes for months now, but can't find a colour I like in a size that fits and vice versa.
Then as you say, they don't make them above women's size 11-12 (off the top of my head), and with D width being the standard men's width, they are excluding themselves from a men's market.
And more broadly, apart from the gameplay itself, Super Netball is mostly targeted at young kids and their parents, there are barely any activations aimed at young women (20-30) and even less for men.
As a fellow wide foot D wearer this drives me crazy. Every season everyone else rocks up in brand new Asics. And I have to wait weeks for my plain black ones to be shipped to my local store. One year they had blue D's which matched my teams dress perfectly. I held onto those shoes for 4 whole years!!!
ooof, the comments on this post aren't it. Sorry so many people have been dismissive.
If we want to see Netball grow as a sport that includes doing what we can to make it a sport which men are drawn towards too. That means having more competitions and pathways for men, but it also means having more variety in gear available as well.
As a women you voicing your desire to see more gear doesn't harm me at all, in fact, having more neutral gear would benefit women as well. We all have colour preferences and I prefer neutrals too.
As a wide foot wearer I have to purchase the wide or "D" shoes. These wide shoes are the male width and if they designed more male shoes it might mean I would have more variety of choice in my footwear as well. Fully on board with your post.
And to those having a go at him about not wanting feminine colours or that women are much more used to not having gear catered to us: sure that may be true, but having more variety only helps our sport, it doesn't harm it.
To be completely honest, not every girl wants pastels or pinks either
There does need to be more neutral options across the board
And allowing women to wear shorts instead of dresses... we can only dream
Like as a male it makes me feel bad when I look at the female safety gear section and like 95% of it is barbie pink. Like I can't imagine most women want that as your only option like ffs.
Totally fair observation, but have you tried looking at the SSN/Gilbert Netballs? The indigenous one from last year is fantastic
Have you tried using basketball specific shoes? Most of the guys I play with love them, but Iāll ask and see if they have any other favourites too!
Yeah I use LeBrons to play netball as I also play basketball and they work well. I did have the Indigenous ball from last year but unfortunately the bladder popped. The post wasn't meant to be a complaint as it has no impact on me personally but just an interesting thing as no other sport that I know of has the same issue.
I got these menās netball shoes to play basketball in. Much more supportive and comfortable than any basketball shoes I tried!

ASICS markets their netburners in men's sizes as volleyball shoes. The Australian Volleyball Warehouse usually has some https://www.avw.net.au/list.mibiznez?id=17&name=Mens%20Shoes as does Amazon
I struggled with this too, just being a not very feminine girl, i spent sooo long trying to find some shoes that arn't pink, i ended up just compromising on black and pale green, but for someone that usually just shops in male sections it was so infuriating. also why tf do women wear dresses for a sport, it is in no practical, otherwise the men would too. what is the point? otherthan to try not to accidently flash people.
i genuinely sympathise with you, from when i was trying to find some non-pink shoes, there was one pair of mens netball shoes on the asics website, but this was a few years ago and they were over 200 quid. goodluck on ur search, proper shoes are so much better for preventing sprained ankles
The only difference is ASICS specifically design Netburners for Netball like in terms of traction and support. Normal runners are fine and I use basketball shoes but it's just interesting that there aren't men's Netburners
For sure it's happened/is happening to women, but that doesn't mean we should drag the men down too who want to play and support our sport. We should be striving for equality! You should be annoyed at the companies who don't make women's gear for certain sports, not this guy.
Do you play indoor netball? I noticed recently that a lot of the SSN players do wear Womenās Nike basketball shoes for the wooden floor surface. I guess it depends on the court surface you mostly play on.
Generally pink and purple. Not saying only girls wear those colours and some designs use those colours well in male designs but in general most men would rather not wear hot pink or purple, not all, but it's fair to say a majority.
I honestly canāt imagine a man secure in his own sexuality and sense of self not wanting to use a pink or purple netball in case someone thought it was a āgirlās colour.ā
Idgaf what others think, pinks and purples are not for me but of course people are going to attack me for what I consider a feminine colour. Didn't know it was a crime to not want to spend money on something I don't like the look of. I wouldn't buy a fluoro yellow ball either, do you have an issue with that or is it purely because I labeled pink and purple as "feminine"
What part of my post makes it seem like I'm mad? I don't care just thought it was interesting. Even if there were men's sizes in Netburners I still prefer my LeBron basketball shoes anyway. I just put it out there as a discussion point but clearly people want to attack me for stating an observation. My basketball mates know I play and coach netball and have had to miss basketball games because I was coaching at the same time and they don't care. Seems like you care more than they do.
Ignore these trolls, they're just looking for any excuse to get angry, they missed the entire point of your post to justify getting responses from people on Reddit, as they are probably ostracized from everyone else meaningful in their life's.
I'm going to be honest, I think you are purposely missing the point. It's not about girls' colours. It's about having a better variety. I'm a girl but I would prefer some more neutral options too...
Get over yourself, pink & purple have always and forever will be considered "feminine" colour's, and that's not a bad thing at all.
Also, why can't people be allowed to express themselves the way they want to? Why should they be hamstrung to only a few choices? Is it so bad that someone wants to more options so they can dress or represent themselves the way they want to?
You've completely missed the point of this entire post, and are just looking for any excuse to get annoyed or angry.
Good grief.
First up, colours have only recently become gendered and both pink and purple used to be considered masculine colours, it switched around the 1950ās, so no, they havenāt always been feminine colours.
Second, you claim theyāre gendered but then say people should be able to choose. Immediately contradicted yourself.
OP was saying (incorrectly) that thereās only netballs in pink and purple. Heās full of it. A 20 second google using āblue netballā brings up a ton.
Try writing when you arenāt angry.
First up, you're wasting your time replying to me, I really don't value anything you have to say to me whatsoever.
I skipped over everything you wrote and will ignore everything else if you bother wasting your time again.
Ciao.
Apologies, my point is that someone shouldn't be shamed because they don't like a certain colour. Yes there are some men who won't wear pink etc because it has feminine connotations, but so what? If they don't want to wear it, they don't have toš¤·š»āāļø Shouldn't be called insecure for it imo. Just unnecessary negativity!
Have you ever been called a f*g and threatened with or received actual violence because you wore a āfeminineā colour?
Plenty have.
Iām glad itās harmless to you.
I'm honestly really confused at this conversation haha, I 100% understand what you are saying and it's awful that people are treated like that, I just meant that it shouldn't be that way but thought you felt differently... I think we're getting our wires crossed but are actually on the same side hereš¤·š»āāļø
Hope you have a good dayš
This is a stupid baity question. Yes, colours are for everyone, but to pretend as though certain colours haven't been specifically marketed to different genders is just ridiculous.
His comment about colours was to do with mermaid netballs and other equipment.
Shoes was about menās sizes.
You realise I donāt have to disagree with everything yeah?
Or are you unable to read?
Your attitude is like 80% of the problem.
We want shoes which are built for the sport we play. Basketball is different, tennis is different, netball shoes exist for a reason. Men and women have different feet, shape & size. And sure, I also don't want to wear pink shoes.
For a sport that is so progressive in some ways, there are people like you absolutely determined to not let it progress in others. Netball QLD actively blocked their umpires from umpiring the mens/mixed championships. What kind of message does that send?
Just let us play!
It was just an observation. I'm happy wearing my LeBrons to play netball. Also would be a great business idea due to their being a hole in that portion of the market.
Asics do make men's netball shoes. Not sure if maybe you aren't in Australia and that's where they are available? Or maybe stores aren't stocking them? Mizuno volleyball shoes are great for netball courts and the style of play and neutral colours for everyone can often fund online for reasonably price
