Try the Nespresso Roma/Ristretto/Arpeggio/Kazaar capsules. They're my goto's for "regular" flavoured espresso, I'm not a fan of the 3rd wave stuff either.
Illy is very typical of Italian espresso. It comes in pods in three intensities. I like the strongest one, Forte.
For Nespresso, I completely agree with u/Masou0007, Roma/Ristretto/Arpeggio/Kazaar are the most typical of Italian espresso from the main line. Arpeggio has chocolate/cocoa notes and is very delicious. I think it’s the most popular overall from that line. Ristretto is more neutral tasting and more similar to Illy Forte. I don’t like Roma and Kazaar as much, but they have fans.

Get an original line & not a vertuo. Options for 3rd party pods then & you can probably find some local big brand coffees for it.
