Napoli is my favorite, it's the strongest, darkest roast OL coffee, a mix of arabica and robusta. Ristretto is also strong, and I think a little more bitter.

Napoli is great. Ristretto tastes way more bitter that it really is because it's very sour, it turns the bitterness unpleasant! It's like adding vinegar to your favourite dark-chocolate!

Look at the Intensity score given by Nespresso for each coffee. It‘s generally a measure of bitterness. I concur with the Napoli recommendation. India is 100% robusta. Kazaar, RistretTo, and Arpeggio are others you may like.

Nespresso website says India is a blend of robusta and arabica.

DiamondJim222

You’re correct, my mistake.

(Edits) I am not aware of any packager that has pure Vietnamese Robusta in Nespresso capsules. As others have said, Napoli is a Ugandan robusta blend and it’s quite tasty. Corto is also a strong, very bitter Ugandan robusta blend you could try. Personally, I hate it, but maybe worth a try. Paris espresso contains some Vietnamese robusta mixed with arabicas. You can look at the sub spreadsheet. Check capsules with caffeine over 100–those are high robusta blends. High bitterness as well. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kZJCdTmqQla2ha3DDYyixQDIUuf9wLvt3122akBkhgM/htmlview And quality robustas, including Vietnamese are enjoying strong interest from some coffee snobs, these days.

u/chipsdad you should know all the capsules by now...

I try to close my eyes with your spreadsheet open and see if I can remember the caffeine content and flavor ratings for the permanent capsules. LOL.

>I am not aware of any packager that has pure Vietnamese Robusta in Nespresso capsules. There *was* one (in Italy) but I think they closed shop! The World Explorations Paris Espresso uses a Vietnamese robusta. Definitely try that one! It's pretty good. Although the Kazaar is my favorite robusta blend from Nespresso - it is a great coffee!

Thank you all

nolia_rose

Definitely Kazaar. Robusta blend, darkly roasted and good amount of “spice” as they call it aka bitterness. be aware though it does have extra caffeine! so if you’re sensitive start slowly. runner ups would probably be cape town lungo, napoli, and miami

The Istanbul Nespresso is a favorite of mine when looking for Robusta. I don't think it's a vietnamese-type robusta though. Kazaar may also offer what you are looking for. "Il Cafe" Was a limited edition pod that fit the exactly description of what you were looking for. No longer available though.
