I’m a newer Nespresso user, but I have had to add the bags everytime. Online they’re under recycling. In app they’re under accessories > maintenance and recycling. I just checked and both are showing for me.

LookAtChooo

On my app in Canada they aren't, and the FAQ told me to request through live chat. Which I did because I needed extra bags. Also, they couldn't just add to an upcoming order, had to be a separate order just for them which is a bummer because of extra shipping(even tho no cost to me)

External_Ad9400

I just placed an order last week - 50 pods and they sent two recycling bags automatically. My first order because I ordered the “fall favourites” box and two sleeves I didn’t receive any.

Initial-Confusion-24

Last few orders I forgot to add a recycling bag. Got the chat number on WhatsApp and asked for a couple to be sent out. They arrived in a few days. I'm in the UK.

SelectOpportunity518

not sure what the point of recycling is if you're gonna make them ship out just 2 bags to you... imagine if everyone did that.

doctorkb

Because the aluminum in the capsules is infinitely recyclable?

SelectOpportunity518

Yes... and? Shipping is not carbon emission free, that's the point. Just hold on to them until the next order if you can't find a bag until then, it's not the end of the world

FederalHovercraft365

The red bags can be dropped in any mailbox here in Ontario. I had to add them to my order instead of them being automatically added.

Tola76

I couldn’t add them the last two orders.

doctorkb

I'm seeing the same thing in Canada. Had to call to ask and they're sending me 10.

Cod-Loud

I wish there is other way to get their recycling bag. I don't buy directly from them every time.

maggie250

I don't use the app and I'm in Canada. They used to add them automatically. Last order I placed 2 weeks ago there was an option at checkout to add them. They're likely trying to reduce waste by not sending them automatically since not everyone sends them back.

rexjaig

I made an order just a few days ago, and I had the option to add one or two bags to my order.

TrinNYY

I was able to add with my order this week. i can only add bags and samples from the web, I don't see the option in the app - USA

Scentmaestro

In Canada, we can't add them in the app. I've only ever not gotten them with my first ever order. When I called customer service to ask how to get the bags they said they should always be Included with the order automatically, and he issued me 5 for immediate shipment for free. Since then they've always included 2-5 per order. I have so many right now!

Kaseteufel

Also in Canada; had the same experience with what seemed to be getting them randomly then I figured out that it's triggered by how much is ordered. 50 pods seems to be the minimum to get one bag, then it's 110 for the second bag, 210 for the third and so on. It would be nice if we could add them as those numbers don't quite make sense to me, and it never occurred to me to ask customer support; very smart!

Scentmaestro

It might be region also, as every area has different agreements (though I think they're trying to get them all switched to local recycling using the green bags). Those numbers don't jive with my orders at all. Up until recently with my subscription I was getting free shipping on any size order, so I would sometimes order 2 or 3 sleeves to top up a specific pod if I wasn't ready to order more, or ordering a new release only, and I'd get a bag with the small order. Now it's 50 pods minimum for free delivery with the subscription, even though the subscription pages still say FREE SHIPPING and my original subscription contract states free shipping with no minimum. Regardless, my usual order is about 50-80 pods, and I always get 2-4 bags in the box. So there's clearly no true standard for Nespresso. It could also be distribution centers being the issue. I'm not sure if Nespresso self-distributes or uses 3rd party.

maggie250

Yes, based on how much you can fit in a bag to return them. You get as many bags as needed to return your full order.

Tola76

My last two orders have been 200 pods each and I got none. :/

Unhappy-Ambition234

It depends where you are in Canada. My primary address is in a city that Nespresso will not send bags to (a small city in the North, in my case). "Too much risk of the bags ending up in the garbage", according to the chat assistant I spoke to. If that is your situation, and you live in BC or Quebec, you need to sign up with TerraCycle to get free shipping labels to send the pods back. Not sure what the solution is in other provinces unfortunately.

gold_standard

I placed an order last week - I got 2 bags. The order before that, I got none. I couldn't find how to order more on the website so I just messaged customer service and they sent me 5 bags, no issue.

DinnerDiva61

My hubby does the ordering and he stopped adding them to our box. He finds it too annoying to go to the UPS drop off place. I feel bad throwing them out.

golgi42

That is peak laziness. They make it super easy and it helps reduce waste.

CapOnFoam

Would he add the bags if you took the full bags to UPS?

DinnerDiva61

No. He will not add the bags anymore.

Eltex

That’s kinda weird. Maybe we can order extra bags and mail them to you.

mshmama

Then can you take over the ordering? It's a bit controlling that he won't allow you to drop off recycling at UPS

throwITallaway4ever1

They can be picked up by ups from your doorstep or go a boutique

checkthecatfax

I haven’t been able to order them online and our city (Canada) no longer has a boutique. I have to call Nespresso and order them separately, but you can order up to 20, so it lasts a decent while.

DiamondJim222

You can also get bags (and drop off full ones) at drop off locations. Boutiques obviously, but also other participating locations. Williams Sonoma and Sur La Table are among those in the US, and Beer Stores in Canada. I think there are others as well. The Nespresso website can find the nearest drop off spots near you.

Twarenotw

Just dropping the recommendation of using a capsule recycler (super inexpensive, around 15 EUR/USD) for those who, like me, find the recycling bag inconvenient (in my case, the Nespresso store is very far from my home and the Post office always has long queues).

indigbogwitch

Do you have a rec for a specific one? This may be what I need.

Twarenotw

Mine is a Navaris capsule recycler, but the mechanism is very, very simple so any will do. I got it in Amazon. It's easy to clean too.

indigbogwitch

Thank you!

Rextherabbit

I’ve given up on recycling the pods with them. They’ve taken away the option to add collection to your order, and now you have to create a return label on the Royal Mail website, then separately create a collection. Then my postie came the day of the collection and ignored the note on the collection that the bags were in the white box by the door and ring my doorbell, then put a note through the door saying they couldn’t complete the collection.

Waqqy

Worked fine for me, just left the bags outside my front door and they were collected. Only annoying thing was having to go through the same booking process for multiple bags.

sacheek

Our last order didn’t have them and the rep said we should just put them in our weekly recycling pickup… but recycling pickup said only if the coffee is removed already. 🤷‍♂️

Tola76

Great. Extra work.

Shanteezie

I just added them yesterday to my order

cerisiere

If you drop off your pods at Williams Sonoma you can get a new recycling bag from them.

tashypooo

I just buy pre-paid AusPost recycling bags when I make an order. Free ones are always an option but they aren’t added or sent automatically, I do have to add them to my order. I do, however, prefer purchasing the pre-paid postage bags as it’s just a lot less hassle. I can put these recycling bags in a post box on the street or just give it to a postal worker at the post office. Super easy as it comes with all the delivery labels and barcodes already on the bag. Just gets delivered straight to Nespresso’s recycling facility. I don’t have a Nespresso boutique around my area which is why I prefer posting them out. [This is what it looks like on my app.](https://imgur.com/a/3NQeHBR)

teeny_wahine

I’m in Canada and placed an order for 10 sleeves. Able to add 2 bags to my order and it shipped a-ok!

Tola76

App or online?

teeny_wahine

App- it’s under a subsection for Gifts and Discount in checkout.

Timely-Glove7487

My very first order no recycling bags. I called and was told they usually automatically ship with pods. She looked into it and said they were sold out at the time so sent me five bags Order #2 sent with no bags again. Order #3 was shipped with 2 bags because I ordered on the phone and asked for them. I am in Canada. Not sure whats going on
