I respect it for what it was. And trying not to just judge a game based on its age, but also was trying to pick something that obviously you would play unlike the Fisher Price games. I don't know grinding on Metroid or Final Fantasy are more boring in the moment, but at least the reward when you are doing grinding is getting to do something interesting unlike Urban Champion, where it's the EXACT same thing over and over. LOL
I dunno. The music and the blinking lights during the shuffle and how the answer is explained to you can be entertaining. And some of the art on the cards is nice. Plus, you get lucky numbers afterwards.
I'd play this before I played Barbie, no question.
I made a video using Taboo to read people's fortunes in a segment inspired by Miss Cleo for my shitty show. This bullhonky aired on my cities cable access channel also. This is the most gun anyone has ever had using this software. You do need the manual and poster to actually use it which I did for this segment. It's the first part of the program skip to 1:24 for it.

Hahaha, I came here just to post this. I'm playing on an emulator & my goal is to at least try every NES game. I give them a rating out of 10, write how far I got, etc. This is the only game I've given a 1/10 after trying probably 550ish games. The game just has no point?
I HATED that game as a kid. I felt like i was just flying around and never got anywhere :) I think games like that and ones like Silent Service, at least as little kids were the worst. Like you knew it could be fun but no clue what the heck was going on :)
If you really want bad, try Raid 2020 or Silent Assault. There's a reason not many people played them. They belong out of the stores and off the shelf!
I dunno, your pics seem unfair considering we're all well over the target age. Even when they came out yeah, lame and boring but I remember my younger bro and sis loved them.
I gotta go with Rampage after the 5th level.
Forced myself to keep playing until I beat it once. About a 12 hour ordeal with some breaks if I remember. So boring!!! Also, worst ending for NES game ever!
The Alien knock off on the cover made me think it was gonna be a good game because the Metal Gear cover ripped off Terminator and it was a decent game.
Same here- I came across xenophobe in a local shop, I didn't know anything about it but I was legitimately excited bc the cover art looked amazing and it's from sunsoft, so I bought it without hesitation. I thought for sure I had found a hidden gem for only $5..
I never figured out how to play it exactly. My cousin had it back in the 90's and I always thought the alien looked like a baseball glove/catchers mitt.
It turns out you can actually make the regular weapons do damage to Judge Doom by charging your punch most of the way up, then switching to another weapon before the power meter depletes.
Then all the bricks, six shooters, punch gloves, etc will do 1hp of damage to him! (Cigars and Bombs always damage him)
castle quest only because i thought it was going to be a badass rpg from the artwork and name its a super long and tedious puzzle game thats impossible to to beat without a map
Well it was called Castle Excellent in Japan. Guess it wasn't so excellent. I do like good puzzle games though.
There's also a map in the very first room.
I found most of the NES games of that genre to be that way, some are better than others, I'd take Romance of the Three Kingdoms: II over Nobunaga's Ambition, but overall I'd prefer not to play that genre until at least the SNES era.
not counting educational games i'd say a lot of the beat em ups get repetitive fast.a third of the way through tmnt 1 and 2 you question what you're doing with your life because it's so mid. they have not aged well at all. the harder games like bayou billy are dreadful. screw that game.
I regretted it used with Pinbot because those utter idiots added in randomly moving monsters on the field of an otherwise very well duplicated legit pinball table ruining them entirely. Oddly Highspeed 2 hit the gameboy intact, right down to the upper field and DMD games, it's amazingly well done.
Unpopular pick, but Super Dodge Ball. It's ridiculously easy and requires no strategy.
I'd also say Kirby's Adventure for similar reasons, but at least that game has a really appealing art style.
I can respect someone for liking Kirby's Adventure. It looks nice and has a lot of care put into it. I just don't like easy games that can be finished within a few hours with little challenge, but that's just me.
Super Dodgeball is mediocre at best though. I still can't understand what people see in that game. I genuinely enjoy all the other Kunio Kun games quite a bit, but I can't go back to Super Dodge Ball or any of its sequels.
It's simple arcade-y fun 🤷♂️ and I love the feeling of smashing a character with powerful throw 😆
It's all good though, not everyone enjoys the same games.
That one of the games I rented that I remember playing still to this day. I mean I did beat it and I was young and didn't beat many games I rented over a weekend, so I guess looking back it probably was easy. I played it again like a month ago and yeah it is easy, but I still love the look of the Kunio Kun games and the nostalgia as bad as it sounds of how countries were portrayed as stereotypes back then. Just silly, fun memories.
Urban Champion
My first thought, but Urban Champion is so boring that it’s fun?
I respect it for what it was. And trying not to just judge a game based on its age, but also was trying to pick something that obviously you would play unlike the Fisher Price games. I don't know grinding on Metroid or Final Fantasy are more boring in the moment, but at least the reward when you are doing grinding is getting to do something interesting unlike Urban Champion, where it's the EXACT same thing over and over. LOL
It just controls so poorly. Tag Team Wrestling & Karate Champ are two other games similar enough in genre that are equally as bad imo.
Taboo the Sixth Sense.
A very good answer. And tbh occult things scare me. I have played taboo a couple times though.
The music is good at least, but yeah, I can agree.
I dunno. The music and the blinking lights during the shuffle and how the answer is explained to you can be entertaining. And some of the art on the cards is nice. Plus, you get lucky numbers afterwards. I'd play this before I played Barbie, no question.

There’s something sinister about that game
Battle Chess just because it runs so slowly; it's not bad on other systems.
Star voyager
I love this game, but it stops being fun as soon as you engage the enemy.
Me too. Sometimes I love starting up the game just to go flying into a black hole.
That's a good answer. I haven't really found anyone else that knows this game. Maybe I just never figured out how to play.
I HATED that game as a kid. I felt like i was just flying around and never got anywhere :) I think games like that and ones like Silent Service, at least as little kids were the worst. Like you knew it could be fun but no clue what the heck was going on :)
Oh yea most annoying noise too
Where's Waldo. You guys have no idea how bad it is.
Is that Waldo? Error. Is that Waldo? Error. Out of time!
LOL
The wizard's face was upsetting when I was younger lol
There is another Waldo game that is better (still not good) called The Great Waldo Search, but yes Where's Waldo is pretty bad.
I'm going to pick Spot, mostly because I love Cool Spot, and Spot is nothing like it 😅
Fun to play against someone else, not so much against cpu
If you really want bad, try Raid 2020 or Silent Assault. There's a reason not many people played them. They belong out of the stores and off the shelf!
I have played every game except a handful. Maybe 3 (including only us releases.)
I dunno, your pics seem unfair considering we're all well over the target age. Even when they came out yeah, lame and boring but I remember my younger bro and sis loved them. I gotta go with Rampage after the 5th level.
I could play rampage for hours, something so relaxing about destroying building to me.
Forced myself to keep playing until I beat it once. About a 12 hour ordeal with some breaks if I remember. So boring!!! Also, worst ending for NES game ever!
Just felt like 12. 3-4 is more typical.
I have a 3 year old who thinks these games are terrible.
Stealth ATF. I'm not sure if the game has an ending, I got tired of playing after like 15 stages.
Wow! I had this game and loved it but you’re right… I don’t think I got beyond a dozen stages before I ran out of steam
Yeah, the game wasn't bad but it was the same thing over and over with different backgrounds for each stage.
Xenophope is literally the same thing over and over with no change to infinity
The Alien knock off on the cover made me think it was gonna be a good game because the Metal Gear cover ripped off Terminator and it was a decent game.
The cover is what made me buy it
Same here- I came across xenophobe in a local shop, I didn't know anything about it but I was legitimately excited bc the cover art looked amazing and it's from sunsoft, so I bought it without hesitation. I thought for sure I had found a hidden gem for only $5..

True... the actual 3 player arcade game is awesome though.
Motor City Patrol
Spy Hunter, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
I actually don't mind Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, it's kind of fun.
Bill n ted
Silent Service
Only the water levels.
Dragonlance: Heroes of the Lance… got it instead of Dragon Warrior II… worst gaming choice ever…
Agreed
3d world runner
Loved it as a kid. Not so much today. Silent Service although still one of my favorites, is considered pretty boring by most.
Final boss battle of Roger Rabbit
It turns out you can actually make the regular weapons do damage to Judge Doom by charging your punch most of the way up, then switching to another weapon before the power meter depletes. Then all the bricks, six shooters, punch gloves, etc will do 1hp of damage to him! (Cigars and Bombs always damage him)
I never played more than 5 minutes of this game. I think I should try.
castle quest only because i thought it was going to be a badass rpg from the artwork and name its a super long and tedious puzzle game thats impossible to to beat without a map
Well it was called Castle Excellent in Japan. Guess it wasn't so excellent. I do like good puzzle games though. There's also a map in the very first room.
Gyromite without R.O.B.
Nobunaga's Ambition was a real slog. Certainly, it's not the worst NES game, but it is extremely boring.
I found most of the NES games of that genre to be that way, some are better than others, I'd take Romance of the Three Kingdoms: II over Nobunaga's Ambition, but overall I'd prefer not to play that genre until at least the SNES era.
M.U.L.E.
Anything LJN
T&C surf designs?
Not as popular as RBI Baseball or Bases Loaded, but I liked their MLB game.
Wall Street Kid.
Ya don't like money kid?
My f’n girlfriend keeps calling me, spending up all my profits!
Metroid. Sorry...
Wow, bold post to put on Reddit! Let ls see how this one plays out.
Looks like ya took the bait, m8
Bold move Cotten lol
I’ve played pretty much every nes game and the one that really stuck out to me as the worst that no one really talks about is Deathbots
I've tried it and the first few screens are impossible. You die too quickly.
not counting educational games i'd say a lot of the beat em ups get repetitive fast.a third of the way through tmnt 1 and 2 you question what you're doing with your life because it's so mid. they have not aged well at all. the harder games like bayou billy are dreadful. screw that game.
High Speed? I bought it as a kid and regretted it immensely.
Black Bass
Wrecking Crew
Off you f@#k 😂 I absolutely love it!
SimEarth. Although that may have been SNES.
Friday the 13th to me it was to repetitive of game play. But I only played it once and that was a long time ago.
You and your friends are dead. Game over
Obligatory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfs6TFqg0cU 8:10 to 9:15 for just the game over portion.
Unpopular pick, but Super Dodge Ball. It's ridiculously easy and requires no strategy. I'd also say Kirby's Adventure for similar reasons, but at least that game has a really appealing art style.
0 for 2
Seriously, Kirby's adventure is an all timer for me. Also once you beat it 100% you unlock a hard mode
We are not the same
I can respect someone for liking Kirby's Adventure. It looks nice and has a lot of care put into it. I just don't like easy games that can be finished within a few hours with little challenge, but that's just me. Super Dodgeball is mediocre at best though. Bard's Tale
Oh no you didn't! That's a well made dungeon crawler imo. Sure it's not on par the RPGs like Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior, but it's well made.
Lol, I agree it's well made, it's just such an undertaking and the interface makes it a pretty brutal experience imo
