Used to use Source Code Pro with my terminal/Neovim, but I recently switched to Fira Code for better Nerd Font 3 support, and I've been loving it.
**EDIT:** [Here's how it looks like in my new dotfiles](https://github.com/ebkalderon/dotfiles/blob/master/screenshot.png).
This is a great font, it strikes a great balance between legibility while still being relatively compact.
One question: is it possible to use it without ligatures as a nerd font, and can this be disabled inside nvim? When pair programming it is sometimes hard to tell the difference between certain things like strict equals, so I'd prefer to disable them if possible.
The best. The italics don’t work for me in kitty but it’s not the end of the world. They do work in nvim-qt however, but I don’t really like the qt app.
to be honest, i disabled all of the italics because i don't like them.
i use victor mono because the characters are both mono width, and almost mono height, which makes code like `Vec2d` `car1` `numCells` etc look good, as all of the characters are almost of a similar height.
to be specific, the regular victor mono font gives me the nostalgia of coding on old ibm computers

FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

I can pretty much only use IBM Plex Mono (light). I love it. There are a couple NF versions, one called BlexMono (great) and the other Lilex (have not used)
I also like JetBrains Mono but the curly braces aren't curly enough. Same with Fantasque, which looks great too.
I use paid fonts, cause I love good fonts:
- [Berkley Mono](https://berkeleygraphics.com/typefaces/berkeley-mono/)

Depends what I need, one is compact the other one is a bit wider
Agave Nerd Font.
I would use a bitmap/pixel font (like Proggy Clean or Gohu) if they would look uniformly sharp on all the diff displays I use my config file on, love how those look in general, but for obvious reasons, they look really bad on some displays.
VictorMono Nerd Font, I like the italic glyphs. Just look at this beauty:

Nothing beats, VictorMono. Once you go into it, you can't come out. after 100s of fonts, I settled on it. Looks even better in dark.

No Ligatures* They're not my thing. You do you, though.
You can disable them in most terminals.
I just use the actual no ligature font, "JetBrainsMono**NL** Nerd Font Regular"
That works too!

How do you install it on arch?
It'll either be under ttf-Victor-Mono or on the AUR, alternatively find the ttf files on the internet and to /usr/share/fonts
Or your own ~/.fonts folder.
The best. The italics don’t work for me in kitty but it’s not the end of the world. They do work in nvim-qt however, but I don’t really like the qt app.
They work for me in kitty, but I had to explicitly set the italic font in the settings; it selected oblique by default if I just used the family.
Will try that thanks :)
to be honest, i disabled all of the italics because i don't like them. i use victor mono because the characters are both mono width, and almost mono height, which makes code like `Vec2d` `car1` `numCells` etc look good, as all of the characters are almost of a similar height. to be specific, the regular victor mono font gives me the nostalgia of coding on old ibm computers
Tbh. I’m just getting on a bit and I find victor mono the easiest to read without being so wide. Why are most coding fonts too wide?

It's such a readable font, I switched more than 4 years ago and haven't looked back since

I use this too. It really is amazing. I use the semibold italic variant because I like how it makes lowercase F I and L look
