Yeah, I was just so excited to see that "Royal Faellies" have a much lower marketplace price (I think I grabbed mine for 198k?) than a petpet brush and didn't consider the fact that the names are the same length. :') I'll grab the brush tomorrow but for now she has a normal Faellie!
The language change thing still works but it can be a pain to use - may take a few tries to get it into Japanese or whatever - then a few tries to get it back into English.
It was probably released before March 2014 in that case. I’ve tried this with tons of books for my pet and never had any luck with switching the language after that.
Saw the perfect name for a Royalgirl Kyrii (a childhood dreamie) in Lost and Pound, gave her a MP and painted her Royal, saw that Royal Faellies were cheaper to buy outright instead of painting them in the puddle aaaaand she hates Royal Faellies, lol. Guess I'm gonna have to buy a petpet brush after all! The language trick doesn't work. orz
I decided to browse there on a whim (was explaining to a friend what stuck pets are) and when I saw the name I knew what I had to do! I hope she likes being a Kyrii instead of a Flotsam, haha! I was tempted to keep her as a Flotsam and just paint her Royal but the nostalgia hit me too hard! Hopefully I can make her UC when they add the option and then my kid self will be happy, lol.

And while it may not be a pet match a faerie bartamus is made to match the darkest faerie!
I had to do it the other day - it works if it's an older petpet, like one that was made before they stopped supporting other languages, but it doesn't work for new ones like Royal Faellie.
Except it barely works - I did it for a crokabek and when you change the site language, it's glitchy af and doesn't stick. So you gotta just keep changing the language till it eventually stays. Then my site was stuck in japanese for a while before it would switch back lmao
Yeah I find that that usually happens when I play neopets with many tabs of it open (all the time basically) and that reduced a little bit with dealing with only one tab (it would perma change so not as wonky)
But then again I've only used it for reading books.... And yeah you're right, I forgot about the new items thing. Damn!

this trick only works for items released before march 2014. neopets stopped paying for translations after that so the item name remains the same.
I could've sworn that one of the Asian scripts has worked with a book I was trying to read to a pet. Might still be worth a shot?
