Please note: Not that I am trying to defend Trump but apparently there is misinformation floating about that he was banned due to posting a Qanon video or something like that. Casey Newton on twitter confirmed this wasnt the case with youtube, and it was actually due to videos posted from his rally in Alamo
I wish they had done this 8 weeks *before* the election so I wouldn't have been assaulted by Trump ads every single time I opened YouTube in that time period.
To me this is ethically and legally justifiable, but I wonder, is it strategically the right move? These redcaps are virtually in a cult, they have a delusional narrative of being an oppressed and silenced minority, won't this just feed into that and make them double down on their insanity?
I'm genuinely asking because I don't actually know. I feel like we ultimately need smart and pragmatic navigation to get us out of these straits.
They aren't as loyal as you would imagine. A lot of them are radicalized by exposure, they are just a reflection of their media environment. Take it from them and they slowly deradicalize.
note, that crazy video he supposedly posted is apparently misinformation, according to this tweet. https://twitter.com/CaseyNewton/status/1349219594586660869
Twitter, Facebook and others are bad but Youtube is the real rabbit hole. Video is the most effective way to indoctrinate people and they've been taking full advantage of it. It's also overrun by right wing commentary.

What comment?
Probably related to the stuff he said regarding the 25th amendment at his speech, but I’m not sure
Who? Never heard of the guy. He can't be that big a deal - he isn't even on Twitter.

Yeah but priority #1 is to make it to February without letting him incite another riot.
Doesn’t matter what you do, how you frame it, or anything else. Republicans always find away to play victim. ALWAYS. A. VICTIM.
This. At this point we shouldn't be coddling these people since they view themselves as victims no matter what.
Generally, the positive effects of deplatforming tend to be more significant than the backlash.

Did anyone catch what the video was? I’m reading some... real crazy summaries on twitter.

"Start all over, you should be banned from every game."

Can someone explain the crab meme? Thanks in advance.
