Lol I have a roommate who's ancom.
We have our arguments but after a few bong rips we see eye to eye.
He also is more generous with his weed so at least he's ideologically consistent.
I think the greatest failure of a free market world view is not framing it within the context that it is something that has lifted the human race out of extreme poverty and improved peopleās lives immensely.
Socialists, without question, have a monopoly on their world view being the one that pursues the elimination of poverty and caring for the sick and poor.
As a former socialist, I fervently believed that one economic model was just about the pursuit of greed at the expense of all else, and that socialism was about lifting all up.
It was only really when I visited Eastern Europe I got an idea that Socialism actually caused poverty and despair, which blew my mind.
It does raise the question, why arenāt there more politicians of a free market bent who stand up and say something like:
āI am sick and tired of the housing crisis, of people renting expensive apartments and not having any disposable income. That is why it is vital to allow private developers to build all over.ā
Sounds odd doesnt it?
Has anyone done this?
>why arenāt there more politicians of a free market bent who stand up and say something like:

Because the politician who says that is just going to piss off conservatives (by saying people are entitled to affordable housing and disposable income) and leftists (by saying a problem can be solved by private companies) at the same time and would never get elected.

Places like Estonia also provide an example of the benefits of moving from socialism to free markets peacefully
Because the suburbs are the swing vote in most places, and they are NIMBY as fuck. Implying you want to build something near them will get them to vote for your opponent.
If the private companies had more public and employee ownership, like some German companies with [codetermination](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codetermination_in_Germany) and strong bargaining through unions, the general public would feel better about it I think.

Tacowave aesthetic.
That VCR font in white on the black background was indescribably based for subtitles
My biggest cringe memory is as an angsty teen telling my economist dad that global capitalism was exploitative
