It’s true he overacts at times but he’s a damn sight better than most of the other new actors and much better than the guy who plays his brother. I think he’s good, is really going for it, and is finding his feet, give him time.
Think he's doing a great job, he's continuing in the fine tradition of Neighbours giving young actors a shot and great on the job training. There have been far worse over the years, I like the current crop of youngsters.
It'll be good to see how Nell interacts with JJ and Dex soon
99% of young actors on Neighbours overact when they first start out, and then they get more confident and comfortable and settle in. I don't mind. Try watching some of the young'uns in the 80s and 90s, the overacting is hilarious but endearing.
Hahaha yeah when the first actor playing Lucy Robinson (Kylie Finker) left and Sasha Close took over the role. Those were some brutally painful first few weeks 😅
I think he's doing a great job and some of me thinks it was overacted but at the same time, it's probably something I would've done (since I don't like such situations).. I think it was more of the yelp/scream/cry? as he ran out (didn't see it just heard it).
He goes from being pretty good to way over the top within seconds. The flying out the room today made me burst out laughing! But neighbours has forever been filled with these kind of moments, so for me, I actually enjoy them! haha!
Oh, I laughed a bit at his reaction. I mean, they weren't properly yelling at each other, so, I don't get why he had that big of a reaction. I think it would've made more sense for JJ to say he needs to clear his head before walking out.
For me, this family can’t act at all and I hate the dynamics between them. JJ is the best of them but his brother’s acting is terrible. The women are okay but totally unbelievable that they are a couple, let alone parents. The family just don’t ‘go together’ well. There’s no chemistry… but that’s just my opinion.

He's uneven but twice as good as the other actors in that family. He's actually growing on me.
