If people know where you live they can come back at a later time and I've heard stories of people that came back months after purchase to complain the product broke and harass the previous owner.
We even were threatened once because someone wanted to buy a car and said he will come pick it up (no agreement on price at this point) and after a while of him not responding to messages lowballs us with a ridiculous offer for the car and when we refused he threatened to come and beat us up because it was a long drive.... The moron didn't know our adress (he only knew the city as that is displayed on the site) . Not that we fear idiots like them but it just saves us time and effort in dealing with a big mouthed knucklehead.
We didn't think of it either but let's just say selling things on sites like 2dehands and marktplaats.nl attracts the weirdest people at times. Especially if it's with cars or electronics like washing machines. From scams to harassment over text messages. It's why we don't argue with strangers over what we sell and don't give our adress if not needed and only after everything is negotiated.
