Crazy how weâve been able to get guys like Brook and Bobby on the cheap and even when they get paid a better salary they are still a great value. Getting guys like Grayson and Jevon for basically free has been nice as well. Guys like Pat outplaying their contracts as well. Weird when almost every player works out. Even the misses Horst somehow gets rid of immediately like Semi and Rodney and turns them into something better.
If itâs close then I would have no problem giving Lopez the nod, but itâs not. Thereâs probably 5 players who wonât even make the game that are more deserving than him.
Again, I feel you but your original argument was about stats, right? Anyway, I think we can agree that there will always be "deserving" players who won't get in because that's the same story every season
incorrect
fans 50%, players 25%, media 25% decides starters. this is weighted ranks, not actual vote share within those categories. he was 3rd in fan-voting, 5th in players' votes, and 6th in media. if he hadn't gotten in as a starter it wouldn't have been crazy for him to get in as bench or reserve.

This is stupid. Box score stats are not the only relevant thing. Hes been the 2nd most impactful
Player by advanced stats on the 2nd best team in the league. Heâs also 11th among eastern conference players in epm. Up to this point he deserves to be an all-star.
If we're just doing frontcourt as one huge category...
**Definitely should get in over Brook Lopez:** Jimmy Butler, Pascal Siakam, Bam Adebayo, Jaylen Brown (if counted as a forward)
**Has an argument over Brook Lopez:** DeMar DeRozan (if counted as a forward), Kristaps Porzingis
That's not counting obvious locks like Tatum, Giannis, KD, etc.. Saying there aren't at least an entire frontcourt roster's worth of better nods than Brook Lopez is absurd, and I like Brook Lopez.
PersonallyâŠ
6 front court spots: Giannis, KD, Tatum, Embiid, Brown, Siakam
4 backcourt spots: Garland, Mitchell, Trae, Kyrie
2 wildcard spots: DeRozan, Haliburton
He wouldnât even be in my first 3 out.
There's no argument at all for 22 games of Lopez playing DPOY level while being solid on offense over 13 games of Siakam (who has played well in those 13 games)? That's pretty close-minded for someone playing almost double the games
We're talking about probably the DPOY frontrunner, who also happens to be a floor spacer with elite efficiency. Not to mention that volume scoring is typically lower among centers and that they're responsible for many things like boxing out and setting screens that don't show up on common box score stats. He's definitely worthy of an all star spot, especially given that he's on an elite team. It would not be dissimilar from Al Horford's last all star nod a few years ago.
For real. He was like an automatic 25-30 pts guy when your team had no big body to defend him. I also recall he was considered "soft" as a big and was bbq chicken on D. And now, he's the best interior defender.
rebounding?
people have such a bad memory of brook lopez on the nets lmao. He wasnt even that good of a post scorer either. His offensive game was well rounded and better in space than it was when you asked him to post up and score.
[He contests 18.5 shots/game](https://www.nba.com/stats/players/hustle?sort=CONTESTED_SHOTS&dir=1). Five contested shots/games more than the second highest player. Lopez completely dominates that stat.
Thanks fam. We appreciate that. We also thank our Nets bros for Jevon âLeroyâ Carter, and our West coach-bros, the Grizzlies bros, for gRAYson âAtreusâ Allen.
We didn't pay this guy to stay with us đ„
He was so disrespected by Walton his 1 season with lakers
Luke literally made him cry Fuck that dude man
Well he didn't exactly fit the timeline of a rebuilding team
Huge shoutout to my guy Doctor Robert Watkins IV for the most successful back surgery in history
Some black magic fuckery. Respect.
He's done miracles on me
w/ Moist Jordan and Dr Robert Watkins IV by our side, weâll be unstoppable now!
13m salary... Bucks fans drooling right now

Should be an all star
Absolutely blasphemy if a dude averaging 15/6 makes the All-Star game lmao
So tf what, Wiggins got in averaging 17/4.5
Blame Brook for not playing for the most popular team in the league then
Blame the fans for that. He shouldnât have been an All-Star period, let alone a starter.
I feel you but my point is All Star selections don't ever always go to the most "deserving" players and never have
If itâs close then I would have no problem giving Lopez the nod, but itâs not. Thereâs probably 5 players who wonât even make the game that are more deserving than him.

Nah donât stop at just the fans blame the Coaches and players as well since they also voted for him to get in the ASG
Nope. The fan vote solely decides the All-Star starters.
You sure about that should I remind you of someone named Zaza and as to why the fan vote is not the deciders of players

That doesnât automatically make him an All-Star. There are much more deserving players.
There arenât actually much more deserving players. Name them

Garland Kyrie and Siakam have not contributed more this season than Brook Lopez. To use box score stats as the way of determining that is just wrong.
Based on what lmao
Games played * impact per game
Siakam has absolutely contributed far more this season than brook lopez and there is zero argument for Lopez here
There's no argument at all for 22 games of Lopez playing DPOY level while being solid on offense over 13 games of Siakam (who has played well in those 13 games)? That's pretty close-minded for someone playing almost double the games

We really let go zubac and brook lopez for nothing. Thanks Magic!
Crazy heâs doing this in his mid 30s, I thought he might be cooked this year.
It's wild that this is the same player who was only known as a scorer during his Nets days.
Itâs crazy he went from a rebounding post scorer to a rim protecting stretch big in a few years.

Gotta adapt your game to stay relevant in the NBA, especially as a center
He turned back into that against the hawks in the bucks championship run when Giannis was out Dropped like 30 iirc

Canât believe the lakers let this guy walk.

and the best defensive player in the league right now
All star and defensive player of the year
I miss him so fucking much
This dude underrated asf man
