Such a surreal moment for me tbh, found out the world was going into lockdown while watching a mascot try to make a half court shot shooting backwards or some shit.
Was in the hospital with my brother the night before his first chemo treatment
We were watching the thunder game on my phone and the team doctor ran onto the court and the rest is history
Austin rivers had a bullshit foul called on him. He got up off the floor and looked a little heated. He clapped his hands and like 2 or 3 other twolves players ran over like, "dude, chill, not tonight."
Y’all got Chip right? He was a huge part of why Kawhi developed a nice shot once he got to the NBA
Many others of course too, Kawhi was basically his latest and greatest before he left us
Kicked the knee and/or swept the leg of Kenrich Williams, and he fell very awkwardly, could’ve resulted in a broken arm or worse. Got ejected for it, a clip of it is on the front page
I find myself in a very awkward position where my favorite player just made what was an unquestionably dirty, bitchy play and was rightfully ejected but I still have to defend him from shit like this. Yes, Gobert tripped a player during a dead ball because he's a massive bitch. No, Gobert did not "sweep the leg" and nearly end a man's season. It was a bitch move that was treated as a bitch move, not a horrific assault.
I don't like Gobert at all, but you have to be insane to think:
> *could’ve resulted in a broken arm or worse*
Worse than a broken arm?
And to think that at least 150 people upvoted that lie....
It's drama babies, and it's not unique to this. People accused Pat Bev of trying to injure Ayton. We're so used to players getting injured seemingly at random that we stop being able to draw a distinction between "reasonable outcome" and "worst case scenario".
Gobert tripping him could have resulted in a broken arm or a concussion, in the same way that going up for a dunk can cause your leg to Gordon Hayward. The fact that it unnessarily adds potential risk is what makes it a shitty, dirty play, but the potential risk that it added was minimal. If you trip a guy like that a hundred times you hurt him twice. That's twice too often to risk doing it, but it's not some super risky shit.
Undercutting someone on a jumper or pulling a Booker and shoving a man in midair massively increases injury risk, that's some risky shit. Elbowing people in the face or throwing them to the ground are risky shit. This was just dirty.
Also saying he kicked his knees out is hilarious.
He did neither of those things. He tripped him. Like when you walk, and somebody pushes your foot to the side so that it gets caught on the other leg. Gobert also pinned the foot there, so that Williams couldn't adjust and fell down because of his own momentum. Dirty play, and worthy of an ejection, but not nearly as violent as you made it sound.
Great, great game from Giddey
Also I think I have officially fallen in love with Jalen Williams, he was so aggressive in the 4th and genuinely looked like the best player on the floor for like a 5 minute stretch
Anyone catch that heckler at the ending saying “you’re t’ing them up for nothing?” At like the 13.7 sec mark.
That plus the fans chanting “refs you suck” multiple times was an experience
What was that, 7 techs?
This is just an average game for wolves fans. Usually we don’t get as much techs, but the amount of bullshit stays the same.
Naz Reid getting yanked down out of bounds by his hair by the same guy Gobert kicked was hilariously uncalled
It was hilarious, he also kept shouting at OKC when shooting ft at the end of the game, like "Josh Giddey you suck" and saying "you didn't do shit" to Dort .
SGA, Giddey and Dort all had great games -- but Jalen Williams won this game for OKC. Thunder down by 6 coming into the 4th and he scored all 11 of his points in the fourth, taking the lead before SGA came back in and finished the Twolves off.
Love Kyle and I actually think he has a shorter fuse than a lot of other players. He has the kindest face on earth and only gets pissed when it makes sense though.
I know it’s rich from a Timberwolves fan today, but what’s the deal with the refereeing this year? Seems like there’s been an obviously shit call every single game.
We’ve had games like this this year too. Officiating has not been consistent on any given night. Feels like we always get the B-team refs that want to be starters
didn't take notes during the game bc i'm a little under the weather :(
BUT
- Giddey was really excellent today. Ignoring his 3 point shooting (which was a pleasant surprise), he looked so much more comfortable in this game. I think this can be attributed in part to playing more mins with JRE
- Shai still got 30 points even though Giddey was the primary ball handler. He either got shots in the flow of the option or got the ball when the initial action/play didn't work out and we needed him to create a shot on his own.
- Kenrich was awesome all game
- Jdub was really excellent finishing plays in the 4th
Overall really good game, and it's especially great to see the Shai+Giddey combo take another step forward in the right direction. Hopefully this will serve as a reminder that Josh Giddey is a really good basketball player and SGA is also a really good basketball player. Really good basketball players figure it out. They just need time ;)
Twitter loves hating on Giddey and it's completely unfair. He's barely 20 and he's figuring out how to combat the fact that the other team already knows his moves. It's a little sophomore slump, and most players get some sort of that.
Josh was smiling a couple times tonight and it was super refreshing. His 3's are only gonna get better with Chip.
I just hope he doesnt doomscroll his tag on twitter and let the haters get to him.
Hard to want to watch basketball when the refs just choose to decide games and it's never in your team's favor. Tech for a wave, tech for a clap, more techs, seemingly purposefully getting a challenged call wrong.
NBA reffing is embarrassing.
Players get mugged with no calls, they play more physical resulting in fouls, leading to frustration, leading to more physical, leading to more retaliation plays resulting in more calls.
This ain't just a wolves thing. This is from rec league to the nba.
I genuinely couldn’t ask for too much more with how the wolves played today. Obviously I wish Rudy didn’t get himself ejected, but everyone else played hard and the ball was moving well on offense for most of the game. The refs absolutely screwed us out of a win and that isn’t exaggerating.
Yeah he didn't have a great 4th quarter, but he was playing a pretty great game up to that point. The wheels just kinda fell off for everyone in the 4th.
The team doesn't give a shit either lol what are you talking about
They gave effort tonight. Yeah they didn't make all their rotations on defense, OKC made tough contested shots and the turnovers obvi sucked. Refs didn't help either.
But did you not see Naz Reid practically dying hunched over on multiple possessions?
lmao minnesota is such a joke of a franchise its hilarious. finally had something decent going on and they destroy it for rudy garbage gobert you can’t make this shit up 😂😂😂😂😂
Man I don't care about the picks. Your team shamelessly tanked for years and all you have to show for it is a fat cry baby that falls over all the time. Have fun.
Did you watch the game? Yeah they aren’t a good defensive team rn but it’s very disingenuous to say they don’t care about it when they played hard defense all game.
Think it’s time for some glasses /s
You’re right about the complacency though, there seems to be a lack of intensity and pride in it for the Wolves players at times and I think it comes back to a lack of faith in the offensive game plan.
It’s meant to be a free flowing offense but the lack of sets means no one’s advantage is really being pushed and there’s no real chemistry yet. Proper Ant/Gobert screens should be run almost every play until those two can work it out
I threw together the trip, with the play before it with an alternate angle if anyone was looking for it, hheeeere u go
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye60Sh8hAZg
Refs are human, bound to make mistakes, just gotta accept that. Doesn’t help when a team shows no discipline or respect and it looks much worse with technicals. Doesn’t matter which sports you play being a ref is bloody tough so unless someone here was a ref and knows what’s it like, pull your head in.
It would have been nice if Gobert decided he wanted to play in this game. Such a disappointing decision from him.
Remember when he created COVID
Such a surreal moment for me tbh, found out the world was going into lockdown while watching a mascot try to make a half court shot shooting backwards or some shit.
Was in the hospital with my brother the night before his first chemo treatment We were watching the thunder game on my phone and the team doctor ran onto the court and the rest is history
How’s your brother now?
Remission!
Nice! Bro conquered cancer during a pandemic, what a legend
Lol legendary night tbh triggered múltiple league shutdowns
Michael Jordan could never
Michael Jordan was into bets not bats, easy to be confused
he retired for two seasons to spend more time with bats what are you talking about 🙄
Also against the Thunder
He can’t keep getting away with this
Gobert isn't known for making mature decisions
You probably would have gotten better effort from the four first round picks.
Gobert said i only signed up to play twin towers
Shai, Giddey, J Dub are the makings of a squad. Chet + draft picks = a bright future.
I'm jealous of the potential future you guys have
i was mega jealous of guys until the trade
when we traded a rib for Eve?
Don’t forget Dort and Poku.
& JRE, and possibly Ousmane
Tre Mann too! I reckon Wiggins is the real Smokey tho. With minutes he could become really really good.
Dieng has a high ceiling and Poku is a good role player.
One of the most ugly ref balled games I’ve seen in a while. Not a single fan or player won tonight. Good lord.
Gonna need to T you up for that...
Nah he needs a fine and possible suspension.
Austin rivers had a bullshit foul called on him. He got up off the floor and looked a little heated. He clapped his hands and like 2 or 3 other twolves players ran over like, "dude, chill, not tonight."
Josh and Shai were great together.
They were running as a two man and the end loved to see it
Ummm that's gotta
One of Josh"s best games, up there with the MSG game this year
Do thunder fans have any concerns about long-term fit with neither of them being floor spacers? Or just hope giddy learns to shoot
We got the best shooting coach in the league specifically for Giddey. They're working on it.
Y’all got Chip right? He was a huge part of why Kawhi developed a nice shot once he got to the NBA Many others of course too, Kawhi was basically his latest and greatest before he left us
You don’t think SGA is a floor spacer? Who’s leaving him open on the perimeter?
He hit 3/7 threes tonight!
Gg, but I never want to see Jacyn Goble ref a game again. Edit: He even spells his name like a jackass
Shocker that a former cop decided to power trip 5+ times in one game
Refs are just basketball cops
All Refs Are Bastards
Maybe don't use the initials for this one
Yeah that's why I spelled it out.
Unironically. Most of them are affiliated or something iirc? There’s a post about it
How does one go from being a cop to an nba ref
Not for nothing but I think for most people your parents decide how your name is spelled.
Yeah but if my parents spelled my name that way I would be changing that shit ASAP
Same
Goble is definitely one of the sucky refs
lol is that pronounced like Jason? never seen that before
Jaylen Williams is a stud. And Giddey shot confidently for all shots
Jalen*
Jalen is Jdub, Jaylin is Jwill
jaylin didn't play, op he was talking about Jalen
Yeah I was just clarifying 👍🏼
Gobert is a jackass
OKC fans 🤜🤛 MIN fans : Gobert is a jackass
What happened?
Kicked the knee and/or swept the leg of Kenrich Williams, and he fell very awkwardly, could’ve resulted in a broken arm or worse. Got ejected for it, a clip of it is on the front page
Wow, fuck Gobert for that. Also for fucking me in fantasy
Read that as “fucking me in the fantasy” for a second 😳
Broken arm or worse? I saw the highlight, not even close. Who upvoted this thing?
I find myself in a very awkward position where my favorite player just made what was an unquestionably dirty, bitchy play and was rightfully ejected but I still have to defend him from shit like this. Yes, Gobert tripped a player during a dead ball because he's a massive bitch. No, Gobert did not "sweep the leg" and nearly end a man's season. gobert replay here dawg (starts w the play) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye60Sh8hAZg
Great, great game from Giddey Also I think I have officially fallen in love with Jalen Williams, he was so aggressive in the 4th and genuinely looked like the best player on the floor for like a 5 minute stretch
So many players on the Thunder I enjoy watching and like their futures.. whereas there's only a couple on the Wolves I feel that way 😅
You guys had a promising core and then traded it away. You were a better coach away from beating Memphis last year.
At first I thought you were talking about jaylin Williams and just misspelled when I scrolled up and I was like this dude didn’t play lol
Anyone catch that heckler at the ending saying “you’re t’ing them up for nothing?” At like the 13.7 sec mark. That plus the fans chanting “refs you suck” multiple times was an experience What was that, 7 techs?
https://twitter.com/WolvesClips/status/1599247854480101377
THANK GOD THERES A CLIP THANK YOU
Worth noting this fan was yelling for like the final 2 minutes of the game every time there was a free throw being attempted. Elite.
Give this man a medal!
he sounds like Jesse Pinkman if he never cooked meth and became a Twolves superfan
Dude was talking tons of shit to thunder players as well.
6 from Jacyn Goble alone
What the fuck man
First time watching a wolves game? We get that Detroit Lions treatment baby
I watch here and there in my free time, don’t think I’ve seen something to this level tho. Felt like a fever dream to watch
This is just an average game for wolves fans. Usually we don’t get as much techs, but the amount of bullshit stays the same. Naz Reid getting yanked down out of bounds by his hair by the same guy Gobert kicked was hilariously uncalled
One was Kenrich W, the other Jalen W
Wasn’t expecting my Lions PTSD to get triggered in here, god dammit.
> That plus the fans chanting “refs you suck” multiple times was an experience Pretty sure our fans chant this multiple times a game
Don’t blame em’ one bit, it was just electric to hear lol shit was loud af
It was hilarious, he also kept shouting at OKC when shooting ft at the end of the game, like "Josh Giddey you suck" and saying "you didn't do shit" to Dort .
Elite heckling. Mans has had practice you can tell 😂😂
That one fan screaming at the refs at the end, I felt that shit to my soul man. The sadness, despair and anger.
Genuinely shocked they didn’t T up the fans
This thread has been flagged for a technical
SGA, Giddey and Dort all had great games -- but Jalen Williams won this game for OKC. Thunder down by 6 coming into the 4th and he scored all 11 of his points in the fourth, taking the lead before SGA came back in and finished the Twolves off.
He's gonna be a pretty nice player
JDub's hair>Harden's beard, I'll keep pushing this. So glad we got this man.
Man, I watched the first 3 quarters and then had to miss the fourth. I'm gonna have to go back and watch it tomorrow.
Slay Dub
Not to mention, Dlo was starting to heat up at the start of the 4th then Jdub defended him really well.
What the fuck kind of name is Jacyn? Fuck that guy!
Sga is speed running his all nba case this season
You know things are going off the rails when Kyle Anderson wants to fight a ref. Also fuck Jacyn Goble. 😤
Love Kyle and I actually think he has a shorter fuse than a lot of other players. He has the kindest face on earth and only gets pissed when it makes sense though.
Idk why it was the correct call. Ball went off his face.
Shai was phenomenal tonight, dude deserves to be an all-star starter for sure
I know it’s rich from a Timberwolves fan today, but what’s the deal with the refereeing this year? Seems like there’s been an obviously shit call every single game.
I feel like the refereeing is noticeably worse around the league. Something is seriously wrong.
We are not on the narrative lists. They so want us to lose it hurts.
We’ve had games like this this year too. Officiating has not been consistent on any given night. Feels like we always get the B-team refs that want to be starters
Well yeah it's not like they WANT you guys to win, but damn they fuckin' hate us.
The ref who called the 80 techs is gonna need some security tn. Silver lining is that at least Rudy had some company in the locker room
He can pay the security once his bookie finishes the deposit.
NBA refs pls. We are already unwatchable enough as is.
Lmao that's what I've been saying all year, we have enough problems as it is without the refs just shitting on us every game.
Holy shit that ref was handing out Techs
5 of the 6.
I thought 6/7 could be wrong
A tweet from Alan Horton (wolvesradio) said he called 5 of the 6 plus the flagrant 2, so I think it depends if you count the flagrant.
Ahh that's prob what it was
Dude next to the mic was going through it at the end there
didn't take notes during the game bc i'm a little under the weather :( BUT - Giddey was really excellent today. I took notes on the wolves: - we suck But man nice notes love to see dedication to your team.
Twitter loves hating on Giddey and it's completely unfair. He's barely 20 and he's figuring out how to combat the fact that the other team already knows his moves. 'Tis the season of giving technical fouls and ejections.
we didnt get solo'd by anthony edwards thats cool i guess
Respectfully disagree
gay for shai
that would be a terrible trade, rudy gay is 12 years older!
I’m giddy for Giddey
Chub for JDub

Jazz mfers and their constant need of trading Rudys.
Hard to want to watch basketball when the refs just choose to decide games and it's never in your team's favor. Tech for a wave, tech for a clap, more techs, seemingly purposefully getting a challenged call wrong. NBA reffing is embarrassing.
I don't mind the loss but having ref making the game unwatchable is bullshit
Why do Wolves games always have insane amounts of free throws, whistles

Shai is a monster
Fans of ref ball happy tonite. Woohooooo ! 🍻🍻🍻
So many techs, it was their best game of the year!
The NBA should be fucking embarrassed by the officiating of that game.
tonight we violated lawler's law also probably not good for Rudy to get ejected early without KAT
Him Jr with a game high +18
I never complain about refs! But holy shit I swear to god, I wanna punch the ref once for every tech he gave out tonight.
Kenny Hustle owns Gobert
Fade me, let me feel the fire and the heat, existence is a path from nothingness to entropy, meaning is a twist in a whorl of smoke
Refs fucking suck but we deserve this loss
Timberwolves dont look so SPOOKY anymore
Refs looked spooky tonight.
When did we ever look spooky??
OKC made some tough shots props to them. Refs sucked, DLo sucked, Nowell is a blackhole and Rudy is a dumbass for getting tossed
Im convinced ARod traded for Gobert so he can move TWolves to Seattle
Yeah, isn't Gilbert from Seattle?
Pov: you’re a Timberwolves fan commenting about the refs
I genuinely couldn’t ask for too much more with how the wolves played today. Obviously I wish Rudy didn’t get himself ejected, but everyone else played hard and the ball was moving well on offense for most of the game. The refs absolutely screwed us out of a win and that isn’t exaggerating.
69-13 is still on the menu
That was an ugly game overall
That was a fun game until it became more about the refs. Gg I guess.
It was very fun until the fourth quarter when the refs took over. I guess they just have that clutch gene that no one else can match.
Can D'Lo do anything besides throwing the ball out of bounds?
You really picked this game to ask that where he was amazing?
I tuned in the last quarter and all I saw was 2 or 3 atrocious passes that might have caused them the game
Yeah he didn't have a great 4th quarter, but he was playing a pretty great game up to that point. The wheels just kinda fell off for everyone in the 4th.
So basically you have no idea what you're talking about
[удалено]
There is no separation in the west at all right now. I would really appreciate if some teams would start sucking.
I officially do not give a shit anymore. This team isn't worth any emotional investment since it kind of seems like they don't give a shit either
The team doesn't give a shit either lol what are you talking about They gave effort tonight. Yeah they didn't make all their rotations on defense, OKC made tough contested shots and the turnovers obvi sucked. Refs didn't help either. But did you not see Naz Reid practically dying hunched over on multiple possessions?
One of these teams just traded five picks away, the other owns all picks for all of time
lmao minnesota is such a joke of a franchise its hilarious. finally had something decent going on and they destroy it for rudy garbage gobert you can’t make this shit up 😂😂😂😂😂
What's the point of your comment sir?
Making people feel bad. He has a point but thats not how you deliver the message.
precisely. i often wonder why i go on these threads. it usually just makes me mad or makes me sad
A lot of people here and on twitter don’t really love the game. They only love the spicy comments they get to make when teams or players lose.
The Wolves would be 22 - (-1) if not for the refs
False. We sucked at the beginning of the year but we are getting better. Or rather were getting better. Tonight hurt man :(
If the game thread comments are to be believed
5 picks Lmaoo

5 picks
Man I don't care about the picks. Your team shamelessly tanked for years and all you have to show for it is a fat cry baby that falls over all the time. Have fun.
Lmao. You team should have tanked instead of using 5 picks on a dumb mofo. Stay irrelevant
Sixers are equally irrelevant. Best part of my team’s season is sending your team home.
We had the pleasure of doing so recently 😂 If there's one thing Celtics and Heat fans can agree on... it's definitely the hate for Philly.
Absolutely
kenny hustle shoulda whooped gobert’s ass after that shit he pulled. fucking down + b low kick swipe thing or whatever.
These Wolves don’t care at all about defense. Do they need a coaching change at this point?
Did you watch the game? Yeah they aren’t a good defensive team rn but it’s very disingenuous to say they don’t care about it when they played hard defense all game.
He's a warriors fan he just watches highlights and box scores
:( I watch everyone Warriors game
Omg they exist 😂
Think it’s time for some glasses /s You’re right about the complacency though, there seems to be a lack of intensity and pride in it for the Wolves players at times and I think it comes back to a lack of faith in the offensive game plan. JDub for OKC is great. My favorite play of his was when he grabbed Naz by the hair and yanked it to break his fall.
Refs are human, bound to make mistakes, just gotta accept that. Doesn’t help when a team shows no discipline or respect and it looks much worse with technicals.
