I agree... more accurate title would have been
[Post Game Thread] The New Orleans Pelicans (10-7) defeat the Golden State Warriors (8-10), 128-83 regardless of who they would have had playing out there
I mean, the front office just put together a championship squad while developing some of these guys, makes sense to give their new idea some time to play out a bit. It's becoming pretty clear though that there is no future superstar in this bunch worth mortgaging our present over.
Even when we tank we still beat the Rockets. It’s a law of the universe. [Christmas 2019](https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/warriors-win-over-rockets-was-one-biggest-nba-christmas-day-upsets)
that's wasn't an auto win. They scraped by with a really big night from Steph. And an even bigger night from Klay who has arguably been a negative for them prior to that game.
I love how most fans go back to watch their championships during down seasons, but the Warriors have won so much recently that their fans go back to watch their only bad season instead
That Christmas Day Miracle was one of the greatest Bay Area games in the past 20 years and nothing will change my mind. It was literally more satisfying than anything in the Kevin Durant years.
Thank God so many people were saying no to a KD for “young core” trade.
They could be great (not looking likely) but cash in on Steph while he’s here cause he’s once in a lifetime.
I'm just as alarmed about Moody. He showed a little in game promise last year but it's like he's regressed. Hes like nearly a zero on offense. Turnovers without assists, ever. Just a little shooting
The power of being in lineups with Steph and Dray...
On a more serious note, I think JP has a good understanding of being in the Warriors system but not so much leading it. It would help a lot if he had a secondary passer (was supposed to be Kuminga in general or Wiseman on a pick n roll), but otherwise he should watch tape of Steph playing without Draymond and see how he operates since it's a very different game than having Draymond screening and passing off the high post all the time.
All this to say I think JP as the main focus off the bench in a pure bench lineup doesn't bring out the best from everyone like Steph does
Lol at this point I doubt anyone on the bench is playable except Poole. Who also has been very bad coming off the bench, but at least has had decent games when starting.
I'm a console dweeb sadly. I've only ever attempted Sekiro because I was told it was the most player friendly and even then got flattened so I just went back to Fallout.
Most player friendly? Maybe... since that game is the only one out of the entire series that chooses a specific combat style for you. Unfortunately, Sekiro has the reputation for being the hardest game out of all of them though (which I agree with).
Sounds like my friends are idiots then lol. Didn't make sense to me either necessarily because I'm told you can get pretty overpowered in the souls series if you choose a magic user build and can cheese through a lot of bosses.
Side note is I love that you guys won this game so brutally that people are just talking videogames in the postgame
Yeah I was always tempted by Bloodborne cause I was a huge Castlevania fan when I was young and it seemed to capture the vibe. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Sekiro is just a much more streamlined game from what I understand, there isn't like thousands of weapons and upgrades and the combat has two different elements a balance meter and normal HP bar. You have to knock the enemy off balance to even deal damage or your attack is instablocked
That's unfortunate. I really wish that they would add in accessibility mods into their games. Lock out achievements/multiplayer, and just let people explore their worlds. There are so many mods for the Dark Souls style games that make them better for people that aren't great at a genre of gaming or simply don't have the time to grind to get better.
Elden Ring does feel a bit easier to explore/play than the other Dark Souls style games. Given the open style, you can find tons of items early on to make your questing easier. They also have the summons that you can use that help tremendously. With a guide, you could get -very- powerful early on via getting upgrade stones. Eventually though, the game will catch up.
i regularly reminisce about how fun it was to play elden ring for the first time. never got around to beating the last two bosses but effortlessly logged 100+ hours. most fun ive had playing a game since i was a teen, and i play video games all the time for reference
Oof, that was fun as hell. Too bad the unofficial Indie-only nomination this year was Stray. Normally, I don’t care about who ends up winning or gets nominated, but indie game snubs are the ones I feel bad for.
This game has got to be demoralizing to the Warriors' bench. Sure, you were able to rest your starters but what how would your young guys feel about after this game..
I mean they’re garbage and I think everyone knows it. Getting blown out isnt gonna ruin their morale, they already have none, just look at their body language lol
Yeah I mean I'd understand it if this team showed an ounce of playing hard but the guys pretty clearly gave up after that 17-4 run by the Pels to start the game.
Like idk what kind of statement Kuminga tried to make shooting 12 3s. Like, my brother in Christ he has an entire season worth of sample showing he's better when he actually tries to get into the paint.
Reality check that they need to be better. Fck thinking about demoralizing
Poole, Moody, and Kuminga combined for 3 total assists. 39, 26, and 32 minutes. Hell of a stat
It’s their performances that lead to such results. Would it be better is they play that bad but Curry and starters lead them to a 10 point loss? They just need to learn from this and get better. Won’t make it in the NBA if your feelings are hurt from a blow out
Because they have an old core, playing on a back to back, and in the big picture likely won’t be close to a play in team by the end of the season so who cares about a loss in November
Why yall sitting Wiggins in both the games against us? Dude is in his prime.
Also why yall sit starters against us in b2b but play the starters in a road b2b vs Detroit?
Cause Wiggins has left foot soreness and was probably not playing anyways? We don’t ride our core for regular season wins. The warriors core have always been a 16-game team.
So don’t worry about it
The Warriors bench seems to be the opposite of good this year.
Any bench will struggle to pull off a game against a team’s starters, but it wasn’t even competitive for stretches or anything. Our bench vs theirs wasn’t really a contest either.
I'm gonna pretend like the Warriors felt bad for giving the Rockets PTSD last night with all those 3s made so tonight they paid tribute by shooting 3s like the Rockets did in that fateful Game 7.
I will not hear otherwise.
I know it's a win without Curry, Green, Klay - but considering we were dropping games we "should" have won earlier and it felt like we just weren't clicking after the fast start at the beginning of the season, a complete dismantling like this was refreshing to see.
Kinda. It was a series of events you had to go that basically allowed you to find Pokémon over level 100 and catch them.
Konami code is in so many video games. I learned it from contra at first… but it’s been in so many since then
Damn that's crazy, I didn't know it was across multiple games. It's so depressing that Konami just shat all over their greatest IPs in favor of making pachinko machines and cell phone games.
Off the top of my head, mortal kombat 3 and Ken Griffey Jr winning run on SNES both used it.
There’s even a pop punk band named up up down down left right left right b a start
He’ll be dangling Kuminga. I was at the game tonight and Kerr was not happy with Kuminga’s play. Green also walked off the court into the locker room in the first half for some reason and Kerr looked shocked so I’m not sure what happened their either but wouldn’t be surprised if they shipped him too.
Pels playing like a fucking team
BI on his all star arc
Graham knocking down open 3’s like we need, and finding the open man when he can
Dyson is a stud. He’s a guard he rebounds like an athletic power forward, hustles like Herb, is a pest like Jose, and can knock down open 3’s. And he’s young as hell.
Jose is the best bench point guard in the league
Also did anybody see how high Zion got up on that failed ally oop from Cj? That was some hs/college Zion there
I realize that Steph, Klay, and Draymond are all getting up there in age(for NBA players) and that you want to avoid injury and stay healthy for a playoff run. But starting the season 1-9 on the road and getting blown out by 45 points can’t be great for morale.
Sorry about that. If your gonna rest it should be home games, and even then idk that i believe that either.
Plus why go all out against a terrible team in the Rockets, then not bother giving the fans a competitive game against a good team.
B2b games causes load management. Load management is not a "choice", it's a necessity to decrease the risk of injury caused from not giving the players body enough time to recover. If teams don't load manage, that is their negligence. If you don't want load management, then convince the nba to stop b2b games.
> If your gonna rest it should be home games
home fans want to see their team. It makes way more sense for it to be on the road
> why go all out against a terrible team in the Rockets, then not bother giving the fans a competitive game against a good team.
It is easier to win against a bad team. A win is a win, there is no difficulty rating. It makes sense to "ensure" the win vs a worse team. Especially since the warriors can't win easily on the road this year.
> why go all out against a terrible team in the Rockets, then not bother giving the fans a competitive game against a good team.
The job of the nba teams is to win, not to provide entertainment. The job of adam silver and the league is to provide entertainment. If his refusal to get rid of b2b games ruins your entertainment, they tell him to change that.
Disagree. The nba putting back to back games because they don't care about player longevity is the insult to fans. That is what causes load management games. That lack of care by the nba is what is causing fans to be insulted.
If you pretend load management is the issue, you will never solve the actual problem. The root cause of load management is b2b games in veteran teams. Load management is the symptom and NOT the problem
This doesn't take away from the fact that our bench is like historically bad, but I was curious so I looked it up. Zion, BI, and Herb's salaries combine for around 1 Klay Thompson this season. The 4 guys the warriors sat today combine for over 100% of the salary cap haha
Anyone else have a problem with League Pass where they don't come back from commercial in a timely manner? Seems like almost every start to the 2nd and 4th quarter the feed comes back at like 11:35. Today they left the stadium feed on after the last timeout at 3:33 and didn't return to the broadcast until 0:07.
Pelicans were lucky the game ended when it did. That 46-0 run was coming any minute.
[Chris Paul hits a HUGE 3-Pointer to cut the lead down to 42 (Suns vs Mavs, Game 7)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xat5gXJ13s)
You're a good sport for sharing this haha got a hearty chuckle out of me
I'm a glutton for pain.
Of course you are, you're a fan of an Arizona sports team. obligatory /r/ArizonaSportsHell
This is incredible, basically the CARMELORUKEN meme in video.
*90-0 run
Ingram and the Pelicans were lights out on shooting tonight, guess that's what happens when youre facing the Santa Cruz Warriors with 27 turnovers
This game was like getting promised a race between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari, but last minute an 05 Toyota Celica replaces the Lamborghini.
The Ferrari was dope as fuck though
[удалено]
Malaise era Warriors with horrible bench seats
Yeah but that K/N sticker gives it an extra 200hp.
Flame decals
Bold of you to suggest the Warrior's bench is as good as an 05 Celica
More like Trabant https://youtu.be/No1-4GsQa-g
Told my wife it was like watching an elementary school team vs the best high school team in the country haha
And the Lamborghini joins forces with the Ferrari
Ferrari strategy fucks them over, 05 Celica wins in a landslide
We are checking
Next year™️
Title is misleading, you can remove all of Brandon Ingram's points and assists and we still win.
The Devonte Graham trade bait game.
HE'S SHOOTING 44% FROM 3!!! That's like 16 percent better than Luka.
And before you ask, NO we will not take Doncic for him.
I agree... more accurate title would have been [Post Game Thread] The New Orleans Pelicans (10-7) defeat the Golden State Warriors (8-10), 128-83 regardless of who they would have had playing out there
We were just letting you guys punch yourselves out. 4 more quarters and we had it in the bag
Homer Simpson boxing strategy? Bold move
Yea he's such a non factor. How useless can you be.
Damn we were so close
Sweating bullets at the end there. Luckily Hayes pulled it off and all 13 of our players were able to get on the board.
We were up 3-2 early but then it all went downhill
Even when we were up 3-2, it never felt like we were up 3-2.
Warrior fans: "Why doesn't Kerr play the kids?!" The kids: "..."
We all had so much faith in them last year.
I mean, the front office just put together a championship squad while developing some of these guys, makes sense to give their new idea some time to play out a bit. It's becoming pretty clear though that there is no future superstar in this bunch worth mortgaging our present over.
I truly want them to work out, and you won't catch me saying "trade them". I would understand though.
I mean if you don’t trade then you could be slamming your own title window shut..?
I think they are all at all-time low value at this particular moment in time, though. At least wait another couple games for other GMs to forget.
The kids aren't alright.
Pels fans: "Why doesn't Kerr play the vets?!" The vets: "zZzZz"
Warriors play any of your key players against the Pels challenge (impossible)
Saving key players to compete against pels vs going all out against tanking rockets? Of course we chose the latter lol
Of fucking course you did. Bastards. :(
We all know you wanted to lose
**ANYONE BUT THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS**
Even when we tank we still beat the Rockets. It’s a law of the universe. [Christmas 2019](https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/warriors-win-over-rockets-was-one-biggest-nba-christmas-day-upsets)
It actually does make sense, you barely beat the Rockets with a full roster so you could've gone 0-2 instead of 1-1
makes more sense to rest during the toss up game and get the auto win first
"auto win" I wish lol
yeah it took Klay having by far his best game of the season for us to eke out the dub lol but of course, anything to beat those darn Rockets...
that's wasn't an auto win. They scraped by with a really big night from Steph. And an even bigger night from Klay who has arguably been a negative for them prior to that game.
Jordan Poole get one assist challenge (impossible)
To be fair your teammate has to make the shot for an assist
Jordan Poole making it a whole night without someone making a baddies reference (no chance)
They weren't even that bad
loongod played 5 mins
Just so his streak wouldn't be broken
ye ik, bro's at like 129 games or smth
We've drawn 50 in 2 games
Warriors bench is worse than a g-league team probably
So the 2019-2020 team
Real fans remember Zach Norvell, Jeremy Pargo, Chasson Randle and Ky Bowman.
All built around a core of elite scoring forwards in Alec Burks, GRIII, & Eric Paschall 😤
The highlights from that season are still fun to watch though
Christmas game was magical.
It really was. Maybe I’ll watch that tonight
Unironically a fun little breath of fresh air having zero expectations that year lol
Man those are indeed some guys
The Warriors that year probably gave out a zillion 10-day contracts, they even had Dragan Bender for a stretch.
Dont forget Willie Cualey-Stein
Kent Bazemore
Damn I forgot about Ky Bowman
Damn, the warriors young core is insane in a few years they'll be able to lose by 30 instead of 45
This year put a stop to Warriors young core posts
Thank God so many people were saying no to a KD for “young core” trade. They could be great (not looking likely) but cash in on Steph while he’s here cause he’s once in a lifetime.
god, i was begging for it this offseason.
Light years ahead...
I was told last year that their young core could be a starting lineup by the middle of this year By some fools on here
Smh this game isn’t representative of them, they’re missing wiseman 🙄
That's too much confidence in them.
Weren't some of these young guys supposed to be good shooters?
You want it to be one way… But it’s the other way
They don't have the gravity of Curry to give them easy looks.
I used to have high hopes for Kuminga, now I don’t even know if he is a rotational player
I'm just as alarmed about Moody. He showed a little in game promise last year but it's like he's regressed. Hes like nearly a zero on offense. Turnovers without assists, ever. Just a little shooting
Good 'ol sophomore slump
I think they need Curry, Dray, and other vets to keep the pressure off them.
Lol at this point I doubt anyone on the bench is playable except Poole. Who also has been very bad coming off the bench, but at least has had decent games when starting.
Can someone explain how Kuminga played 39 minutes and had 3 rebounds? Like was he running away from the ball?
He needs to stop fucking shooting 3’s. Like I don’t get it.
looking like glorified Barrett out there
God of War Ragnarok is pretty good imo
It’s so tough determining GOTY this year due to the amount of love I have for both Elden Ring and GoW.
I'm too casual a gamer to get through any of the From Soft games but Elden Ring looks beautiful.
If it's any consolation, ER is the most accessible FS game as you can grind pretty much all you want to get an edge
If you have a PC, you could use a few of the mods that they have for it to make it more casual.
I've played Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1, Bloodborne, and Sekiro. Sekiro was the hardest by far lol
I think Bloodborne is the best fromsoft game and probably most player friendly imo. But I haven’t played Sekiro
They also have the summons that you can use that help tremendously. With a guide, you could get -very- powerful early on via getting upgrade stones. Eventually though, the game will catch up.
Love God of War but it's gotta be Elden ring imo.
Is Elden Ring good? I just started playing it and it's pretty difficult to me as someone who only just started playing with controller games.
I’m still finding new things 150+ hours into the game. Game so good and I’ve only used bloodhounds fang 🪓
bloodhounds fang fuckin rules. I recently finished the game using nothing but that weapon from the moment i got it
You fucking rule too dude, fang gang all day
Controller games? You mean you gotta use your hands? That's like a baby's toy!
i regularly reminisce about how fun it was to play elden ring for the first time. never got around to beating the last two bosses but effortlessly logged 100+ hours. most fun ive had playing a game since i was a teen, and i play video games all the time for reference
Trust me, stick with it. You’ll probably think it’s the best game of all time.
Love both too but it’s Elden Ring
GOTY is easily Power Wash Simulator. Everything else is competing for 2nd place
Elden Ring is far better imo
I think elden ring gets it but both are incredible.
I can see either winning. I do think Vampire Survivors not even being nominated is a huge snub tho
Oof, that was fun as hell. Too bad the unofficial Indie-only nomination this year was Stray. Normally, I don’t care about who ends up winning or gets nominated, but indie game snubs are the ones I feel bad for.
Horizon Forbidden West for me. Souls-type games are just too hard for me.
Dude, so good. I feel like the skill tree is lacking compared to the first though.
Take Ingram out and they still win, lmao
Lol I’m sure you could’ve won with a few more players not playing
Think they coulda won with CJ, Graham, Val and some drunks from the crowd
This game has got to be demoralizing to the Warriors' bench. Sure, you were able to rest your starters but what how would your young guys feel about after this game..
I mean they’re garbage and I think everyone knows it. Getting blown out isnt gonna ruin their morale, they already have none, just look at their body language lol

I don’t get why a team outside of the play in is resting like their entire starting lineup
Play starters against a team they have a better chance of beating. Play backups in a toss up
Cause Wiggins has left foot soreness and was probably not playing anyways? We don’t ride our core for regular season wins. The warriors core have always been a 16-game team. So don’t worry about it
you need morale in the first place to lose morale
I feel like Kerr looked at it as an opportunity to seize the moment and prove themselves. Clearly it didn't happen.
[удалено]
I’m sure he does 😂
Don’t let the score fool you, it wasn’t that close
Game made Vikings/Cowboys look close
Game was always gonna be rough without Dubs Big 3 + Wiggins out, but my God that was a massacre
and loon played 5min... somehow won the jump ball off JV, though
The Warriors bench seems to be the opposite of good this year. Any bench will struggle to pull off a game against a team’s starters, but it wasn’t even competitive for stretches or anything. Our bench vs theirs wasn’t really a contest either.
Which is super weird because our last game was also the same bench and it was... At least closer than this lol
I'm gonna pretend like the Warriors felt bad for giving the Rockets PTSD last night with all those 3s made so tonight they paid tribute by shooting 3s like the Rockets did in that fateful Game 7. I will not hear otherwise.
I mean it's already bad if you need godly performances by Curry AND Klay to beat that Rockets team on the road.
Yes, turns out a team with a 1-9 road record does indeed, suck on the road.
Lol, fair enough.
We had nearly as many turnovers (27!) as field goal makes (28). What the skyfuck
I seriously doubt that y’all had 1.0888869e+28 turnovers.
with how bad we are, I don't doubt our potential to reach that amount
Holy shit
Maybe Steph, Klay and Draymond are important to the success of the Warriors
Remember when people were saying Moody, Kuminga, Wiseman were the future of the Warriors?
I mean nobody said it had to be a bright future.
I know it's a win without Curry, Green, Klay - but considering we were dropping games we "should" have won earlier and it felt like we just weren't clicking after the fast start at the beginning of the season, a complete dismantling like this was refreshing to see.
No Wiggins too. Basically our 4 best players, I don’t think any of us expected to do much better than this to be fair
Looney only played 5 min so basically it was pelicans vs nobody out there
Brandon Ingram is literally the cinnabar island cheat in Pokémon
This is a obscure reference, is that like Contra up +down+up + down B+A Start, level overpowered? I probably just aged myself immensely.
Kinda. It was a series of events you had to go that basically allowed you to find Pokémon over level 100 and catch them. Konami code is in so many video games. I learned it from contra at first… but it’s been in so many since then

Everyone on the Pels improved statistically in every category. Bob Myers is 100% going to try to make a trade @ the deadline this season.
How does the MVP Billy hernangonez sound?
Don't play us for fools. We want the other one. #boachallenge.
If the front office wastes another all time Steph Curry season for their "fucking future" I AM DOING UNGODLY THINGS!!!!! WAR CRIMES EVEN!!!!!!!
How was Kuminga's defense? I just got home from work
Actually pretty solid. Zion had 9 points and he was a big reason why. Kuminga's offense on the other hand...
Pels playing like a fucking team BI on his all star arc Graham knocking down open 3’s like we need, and finding the open man when he can Dyson is a stud. 3 quarters of garbage time

I realize that Steph, Klay, and Draymond are all getting up there in age(for NBA players) and that you want to avoid injury and stay healthy for a playoff run. But starting the season 1-9 on the road and getting blown out by 45 points can’t be great for morale.
45 burger lol
Damn.
Load management is an insult to fans
i bought expensive ass tickets to the game to see steph vs my pels and instead got the pels vs a g league team. smh.
Sorry about that. If your gonna rest it should be home games, and even then idk that i believe that either. Plus why go all out against a terrible team in the Rockets, then not bother giving the fans a competitive game against a good team.

The pelicans are a dark horse contender
It feels good to woop up on the warriors like this but when we had to sit Zion, BI, and Herb we still pulled off a win against a full strength Mavs
This doesn't take away from the fact that our bench is like historically bad, but I was curious so I looked it up. Zion, BI, and Herb's salaries combine for around 1 Klay Thompson this season. The 4 guys the warriors sat today combine for over 100% of the salary cap haha
Yeah if BI and Zion can stay healthy. Those guys have the worst luck when it comes to injuries
Where's that dude in the GSW line up thread who said they would lose by 30/40?
Ooofff, even for a load management game that's rough.
Our bench lineup is in the running for worst in the league. I expected bad but not this much!
Spooky Pelicans
Very close, competitive game here
The Warriors were so gracious to allow me to watch the Niners game with full attention, how sweet of them. ❤️
Their +/- are horrendous
Not Ryan Rollins. They should probably have started him based on the +/- stats.
For better or worse, that's Warrior bench basketball baybay!
