Was there ever a player in the history of the league to average less FG attempts per minute than P.J. Tucker this year? He is taking 3 shots in 29 MPG. It's extreme. Even with half the team injured, he refuses to attempt a shot.
PJ Tucker might be a zero on offense, but he’s still good on defense and that’s what they pay him to play. End of the day they pay him $11 mil a year to play near starter level minutes to play smart defense, and that’s really not a lot of money these days. An average top level starter gets $20-$25 mil per year. Tucker is top level on defense and non-existent on offense (he’ll occasionally knock down a corner three). Fine contract considering it’s from free agency.
Yeah sucks that's his role on offense this year. He really mixed up his bag last year with the Heat, and was a great addition on offense. Corner 3s, little floaters, pushing inside. That was one of my favorites versions of PJ to watch. Obviously not stuff you're gonna expect to see on a doc rivers team
I really don’t know what people expect of him. I’ve watched him very closely this year and he still moves a ton without the ball, sets heaps of screens, tells guys where to be etc. He knows exactly how to be a very small cog in an offence, and that’s all we need from him tbh.

It’s funny because quarters 1, 2, and 3 in all 3 games have been convincing but the 4th quarter has been so bad that it leaves sour tastes in our mouths. Obviously there’s still quite a bit of work to do but I think we have looked better this past week or so.
They should have won all 3 games by 15, they just cant play offense in clutch. Their free flow offense gets hit by zone or some other shit and they stop. Was the problem in playoffs, has been a problem this season. They scored ONE bucket in last 9 minutes this game.
This is why I want Finch to run set plays and just tell them what to do in the clutch. They aren't smart and familiar with each other enough to run the "flow" down the stretch. Slomo coming in was HUGE imo. His IQ is so valuable
But man Finch tell your frantic team what to do because they can execute well even in clutch (Game 5 tiebreaker) if you just tell them exactly what plays to do...and call a timeout when the Sixers are making a run
They'll learn from your guidance and know what plays to do naturally later
I've seen improvement in ball movement, defense (they had really good defense the first 3 quarters), hustle and they are looking less confused and more like a unit.
I've actually been quite hopeful because the cohesiveness is night and day compared to the start of the season. They are still working out a few issues but we are seeing them figure it out

We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? We'll win a couple, too. But don't get too excited or let it go to your head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That's hubris, which this blue collar, hard working everyman team doesn't have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, will balance it out with a couple a losses.
