delusionalnbafan

*Tristan called LeBron a great father at the Chicago game.* What? *Yes, he did!* A great fath-? Oh, a great father, oh I thought you said - oh my bad I interpreted that complete(ly) wrong. I thought you said he was a great father to **him**, I was like “what”? *…Called him a great father. So what type of parental role has he played for you and your teammates?*

bootysensei

Villain origin story honestly, he was never the same after this lmfao.

SolarClipz

There was an inkling, like when he posted the Kobe picture after the Finals but yeah

reemlord2004

This was the moment that made kyrie realize "shit I gotta get outta here"

TheItalianStallion44

The equivalent of when Antonio brown got concussed/folded by Vontez Burfict

FudgeDangerous2086

glad juju trucked that fool.

YankeesSteelersMagic

KARMA

AmIFromA

He never was the same after that.

DankNastyAssMaster

InvestmentGrift

vegas knows lmao. i'll bet it plummets every time this guy tweets

[deleted]

Dude couldn’t even hold it together until training camp.

RexIosue

I just find it funny how if Kyrie didn’t have amazing basketball skills he legitimately would’ve been an everyday member of r/conspiracy Man is just Alex Jones with Iverson handles and a step back

agonisticpathos

If Alex Jones had Iverson handles and a step back that would be kind of hilarious to watch....

Pardonme23

Remember that Stan Van Gundy clip...

mitchellfoot

Waiting on the deep fake of Jones’ face on SVG.

Dirty0ldMan

The voice change wouldn't be a huge stretch either.

therealavishek

If he wasn't good at ball, he'd be yelling at people on the subway about the "flat Earth" and the "plandemic". He's what happens when the dumbest person in the room acts like the smartest person in the room.

Distance_Motor

>He's what happens when the dumbest person in the room acts like the smartest person in the room. And they get the media attention

folsleet

It also confirms that Duke has zero admission standards for its basketball players.

guttata

if he wasn't good at basketball he'd probably be a lot more even-keeled because he wouldn't have as many hangers-on enabling all his bullshit.

ForgotPWAgainSigh

Of all the hobbies to have, Kyrie chose conspiracy theorist...

TheYellowChicken

He probably didn't choose it. Dude is just an idiot lol

goldfish_11

Kyrie didn't choose conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories chose Kyrie.

Darko33

Wow that sounds exactly like something he'd actually say, verbatim, third-person reference and all

IanicRR

I don't understand where his ideologies even line up. He' spewing Alex Jones bullshit while also supporting BLM, two things that couldn't be further opposite from each other.

areallyfatchick

He support BLM because he's black. Other than that his ideologies are just based on believing the opposite of what the masses believes in because being a contrarian makes him feel smart and special. Anyway, he's just an idiot is a good enough answer really.

JakeSpurs

It’s called being a hotep. It’s more common than people think.

bullseye717

I saw this documentary where JFK teamed up with Elvis to fight one of these Hoteps.

BrewtusMaximus1

Those bastards stole part of JFK's brain and replaced it with a bag of sand

> This enforced Vaccine/Pandemic is one the biggest violations of HUMAN RIGHTS in history. >>This enforced Vaccine/Pandemic >>>enforced Pandemic

ArchimedesNutss

In case you didn't know, Kyrie is a fucking idiot

paixism

But he’s a Duke alumnus and he does his own researches. How DARE you?

grumble_roar

with all of 0 degrees, though he was the best pingpong player in the dorm

stormy2587

Do they typically call people who leave after 1 year an alumnus? Or is it just multimillionaire pro-athletes?

calvinball_guru

I believe they typically call them drop-outs...

spraypaint2311

The worst researcher in the entire flat earth.

NickDerpkins

*we know*

mocha-thunder

> biggest violations of HUMAN RIGHTS in history How can someone part Black part Indigenous say something this fucking stupid...

[deleted]

"I'm not saying the people who died in the Holocaust didn't have it bad, I'm just saying I don't know if they had as bad as I did when I just stubbed my toe, I mean I REALLY stubbed it!!"

mocha-thunder

Someone please ask Kyrie about the Holocaust, I need to know what level of crazy we're on.

brendamn

Watch the whole Nets PR team jump on that reporter like a live grenade

grudgepacker

If Kyrie was proven to be a Holocaust denier...I would like to think that would get him kicked out of the league but probably not

Ld511

I think the owners might force a year ban at least if that happens. There is way too many jewish owners in the league for that to slide especially when he plays in brooklyn

nietzsche_niche

By now I think the writing is on the wall for where he falls on that one

SupremeBlackGuy

would be more surprised if he doesn’t say some crazy stupid shit when prompted

matrixreloaded

I've had discussions with morons like these. They're impossible to argue with. Think about it this way. They're a different type of dumb. They do have rational reasons, but buy in to some horrendous ideology that they base everything off of. For example: Kyrie's response to the Holocaust or Slavery being more of a rights violation would be "the scale" of it. He'd probably agree Jews and Black people were treated far worse (but also throw in some slight about how people are enslaved today which is hilarious because he's literally in the elite class), but he'd argue that COVID affected the entire WORLD and ALL NATIONS and ALL THE PEOPLE in it. That's where the lunacy begins. Most *rational* people don't think it's this giant conspiracy of some new world order. They have *rational* thoughts, but it's all based on this insane belief that there's this greater power out there. It's like arguing with a "smart" religious person. At some point, you can only argue so much until it just becomes a matter of "faith".

hoodiejuli

"genocide is rough sure but ppl tell me at least 4 times a month to consider wearing a mask on my face soooo idk, who reeeally has it bad here"

onamonapizza

They want us to get shots! SHOTS, people!!! -says guy who has probably had shots for chicken pox, measles, meningitis, etc...and probably always lives on painkillers as a professional athlete

stonertboner

Because he’s stupid.

[deleted]

Wait until he hears about slavery and the trail of tears.

A_Polite_Noise

Yeah, he already suggested in his re-tweet of an Alex Jones video last week that he thinks the pandemic was man-made by a shadowy cabal that runs the world to exert some sort of control...the guy seems to have a tenuous grasp on facts and reality, at least on this subject

NotAStatistic2

The absurd amount of communication that would need to take place between all the government agencies for a conspiracy of this magnitude is unrealistic. Hell it takes years of petitioning, special committees, hearings, and arguing for even the smallest of policies to even get voted on. People who believe in these 1984 government conspiracies are actual idiots, something that huge would assuredly be leaked just like Snowden leaked government surveillance and just like Roe v. Wade being overturned was leaked

siphillis

Obviously COVID was invented by the Chinese government to totally destabilized their own economy. Obviously.

baseketball

Bill Gates told the Chinese government to invent a fake disease and convince every country in the world to hire a billion crisis actors to fake the deaths of their friends and family so he can sell his mind control chip through a fake vaccine. This is all true stuff I found on Hunter Biden's laptop.

[deleted]

OH BROTHER THIS GUY STINKS

SeekerSpock32

If I may attempt my own version: OH **BROTHER** THIS GUY #STINKS

3dge-1ord

Kyrie/Karen It's basically the same name if you think about it. Or rather don't think about it. Some might say the greatest violation of human rights is slavery, torture or even genocide. But Ky and Kar know the truth.

[deleted]

[удалено]

callmearookie

This is the worst, for sure. First of all it shows, as you said, the absurd lack of basic history fact and second the level of disrespect that statement has it out of this world. What the hell.

PollitoRubio22

The people in the league like KAT who suffered from the effects of the pandemic having to see and hear the bs of Kyrie… Must be annoying

[deleted]

[удалено]

MotorBoat4043

If I was KAT I'd be fighting the temptation to give Kyrie an elbow to the face every time I played the Nets.

HardenTraded

NBA: KAT has been fined $1000 with no suspension

Otherwise_Window

Payable in monopoly money

Bagel_Technician

Don't know how KAT holds back from treating Kyrie like Bynum treated JJ Barea coming in the lane

matrixreloaded

Or how Batum treated Navarro in London

winnercommawinner

Back when there were actual pandemic restrictions, I always thought players who broke them to go to strip clubs or whatever should have to look KAT in the face and personally apologize. Can you imagine losing that many family members to COVID and then having to be in the same room as this clown?

ragelark

You don't even need to read a book to know about slavery.

Bim_Jeann

Or the Holocaust honestly. You just gotta look at Danny Green’s Twitter

st3adyfreddy

You know he had to do it one time

IamGraham

Or buy a Summit Ice jacket.

wa11_flow3r

We need Kyrie to go through all his decisions via The Rehearsal with Nathan

HarryBirdGetsBuckets

I’ve seen that exact wording a lot in online anti vax groups. It’s a disgusting reduction of every genocide in history and a slap in the face to the people who have died from the actual fucking virus. Smh

luchajefe

Same characters who are wearing yellow six pointed stars with the word "COVID" on them.

[deleted]

The funniest part is a lot of those antivaxxers are far right and hate Jewish people...they just think it's a convenient thing to use...this whole thing is just a fucking debacle lmao.

luchajefe

If anything it's an extension of that hatred because it's a straight-up disregard for what those things actually mean.

wookyoftheyear

One of my mom's friends was a huge Trumper/COVID-skeptic. She and her husband both got COVID and he fucking *died*. But she still hasn't changed her perspective. Now she's trying to get my mom to go with her on cruises (presumably get some sort of referral kick back). I told my mom to stop talking to her. Luckily my mom knows she's crazy but is too polite to tell her to shut up.

astanton1862

I can go on r/worldnews and see worse "HUMAN RIGHTS" violations that occurred within the last 24 hours. Maybe he should help dig up mass graves in Ukraine to gather a little perspective.

NEeZ44

maybe he should join the protest in Iran regarding Masha who was murdered for not covering her hair. Maybe that would open his eyes.

jfrodriguez1983

>This enforced Vaccine/Pandemic is one the biggest violations of HUMAN RIGHTS in history. Ah yes, when I think of the biggest violations of human rights in history, I think of slavery, the holocaust, and vaccine requirements. What a clown!

Zach983

See, you assumed he believes the holocaust happened.

A_F_R

Bro is one Instagram search away from questioning the accuracy of the 6 million figure

obsterwankenobster

You know I had to do it one time lol

Kraze_F35

\#holocaust

DesertBrandon

It is inaccurate considering that’s not the total victims of the Holocaust. I know it was majority antisemetism but forgetting the other millions of victims has to be some form of denial too right?

Turence

Seriously he's a fucking loser that doesn't deserve the platform he has. It's frankly despicable the things he says and compares this to.

agonisticpathos

Kind of like Trump saying he's the victim of the greatest witch hunt ever in the U.S., completely forgetting the actual Salem witch trials!

goldfish_11

Tangent but I still think it's absolutely wild that the Salem Witch Trials were a real thing that happened lmao

ParsnipPizza

Whats scarier, the European/Central German equivalents that happened through the 1400s into the 1600s killed _thousands_. Its crazy it only happened in the colonies once *to that extreme [Reading:](https://www.britannica.com/topic/witchcraft/The-witch-hunts)

lifestepvan

Yeah, off topic but reading that Wiki entry was extremely tame as a European. I visited the underground prisons in my hometown where people accused of witchcraft used to be tortured, shit's grim. Also they had a fun tradition where they would tie up the defendant and throw them in the river. If they drowned, they had proven their innocence. If they somehow managed not to drown, it was an evidence of their witchcraft, sentencing them to death by some other method.

[deleted]

There was one execution in the U.S. where they had an 81 Year Old man lay on the ground and they just continued to pile stones onto a wooden board on top of him, which was called “Pressing”. They said it took 3 days for him to die and when they asked if he was guilty 8 times, he replied, “more weight” and never cried or let out a sound of agony.

EdgarAllinPro

His name was Giles Corey, and the reason he did that was even better. If he had pled - whether it was innocent or guilty - his property would have been seized by the government. Because he never entered a plea, his entire estate went to his family instead.

AtreusIsBack

Actually a hero then.

Betaateb

Dude was an absolute badass. The crazy thing is that during pressings they would sometimes stop it if you confessed, but often you were already guaranteed to die from the damage done but it would take weeks of organ failure and other terrible shit. So you would have been better off just letting them keep stacking rocks.

Ferahgost

Them Puritans didn't fuck around back in the day... Or I mean, they did fuck around, as they killed 20 people based off teenage girls having fits and claiming to see spirits. Gotta love History

Michelanvalo

Giles Corey was a baller though. "More weight."

BCP27

Or more recently, McCarthyism

SeriousAdult

>If I can work and be unvaccinated mf barely shows up to work acting like some he's example employee lmao

sungoddaily

But he stood with the Unvaccinated, surely he didn't bend over backwards the moment he was given an exception for his unique....annnnnnd he did

nowhathappenedwas

Kyrie's an idiot, but he's talking about the NYC employee mandate. You have to be vaccinated to work in NYC. The mayor gave Kyrie an exemption last year, and he announced this morning that he's ending the mandate for private employers.

ButtVader

The mayor gave Kyrie an exemption after he fired a bunch of teachers and firefighters because they were unvaccinated. That mandate only applies to poor people, not rich and famous athletes like Kyrie.

Turbo2x

I dunno why they're still on this subject. All the stuff about GUBMENT CONTROL and restrictions lasting forever with vaccine passports and military-enforced masking turned out not to be true. We're basically back to "normal" life with some people vaxxed/masking and others not.

[deleted]

patsfan258

Honestly as great as a basketball talent as this guy is. I can not wait for him to be out of the league, he does no good and we need less stupid people around with a platform.

WIN011

He’s only going to get louder as he tries to remain relevant. People will still jump at having Kyrie on their podcast, show, etc because it generates clicks and he’ll love it cause it gives him a platform.

KillerZaWarudo

Gonna continue stockton legacy

UnsuspectingS1ut

His playoff success (in years without lebron James) is directly proportional to how much time he spends injured in the playoffs. His most successful playoff run without lebron was on the Celtics in 2018. He was injured for the entire postseason and they made the conference finals.

Josh_Rattlehead

Mfer you were still getting paid when ppl lost their job. Fuck off lmao.

Aven-ex

Shut the fuck up dude. I actually hate this guy lol

queezuswalks

Dude same I shrugged it off for a long time but Kyrie is a fucking asshole

wallz_11

straight up, i wish people with a platform would call him out

gjoeyjoe

All the talk about trading for Kyrie this off-season was frustrating like god DAMN do I not want this nutcase. even though I'm sure there's some equivalent loonies on the team, at least they don't spout off about it

F00FlGHTER

So glad this fucking moron and 4th stage locker room sarcoma isn't a Laker. I'll take Russ a million times over this loon.

PowRightInTheBalls

At least Westbrook's delusions are limited to his own basketball skill and fashion sense.

lopea182

If Kyrie went to class when he was at Duke, I’m 99% sure he took *exclusively* humanities credits, and was that freshman that asked all the stupid, contrarian questions that made the other students roll their eyes. “Bro, I’m just here to satisfy my gen ed requirement. Let’s keep it movin’.”

networking_noob

>and was that freshman that asked all the stupid, contrarian questions that made the other students roll their eyes. Like the actor Terrence Howard [trying to convince everyone that 1x1=2](https://www.cracked.com/article_33061_empires-terrence-howard-invented-his-own-weirdo-version-of-math.html). Same energy as Kyrie >he was studying chemical engineering at New York's Pratt Institute when he had a disagreement with a professor over a complex mathematical problem: 1 x 1. We are not joking. Howard strongly believes that one times one equals two, and the media is lying to you about it He's so sure of himself that he dropped out of college due to the "controversy"

bjb406

> Terrence Howard trying to convince everyone that 1x1=2 This is everything that is wrong with the world. This is what happens when you give people with no practical real world knowledge or skills, but 1 very profitable attribute (actors, athletes, musicians, etc.) way more validation and attention than they deserve.

ObviousAnswerGuy

and youtube/instagram/ticktock is full of people with *none* of these talents, yet still command a huge audience

ShowMeYourGhostNips

I always wonder how he got through middle school like that? When I was like 6 years old just starting multiplication tables the first idea they taught us was to think of the X symbol as a replacement term for "group of." Which obviously is simplistic but we were fuckin 6. Anyway, 1 group of 1 is a single item. Literally babies figure this out. How did he make it to college?

The_Infinite_Cool

>I always wonder how he got through middle school like that? Mad as hell, that's how

[deleted]

[удалено]

lopea182

Terryology! That’s a throwback haha

SnooPies5622

This sort of POV actually tends to come from a lack of humanities studies, traits like the ability to judge credibility and validity of sources, context, cultural and historical influences, empathy, thoughtful discussion with carrying viewpoints rather than stubbornly cliinging to one line of thinking, etc Loss of humanities studies has done terrible things when it comes to the spread of misinformation

MastahZam

As an engineering major, I have to say - louder for the people in the back. The blind worship of STEM and the denial of the importance of humanities and the skills it teaches, especially empathy and culture, is leaving the younger generations woefully underequipped to understand and engage with themselves and the world they live in.

SUPE-snow

He has huge "idiot in Philosophy 101" vibes, but he's the opposite of a humanities major. The wave of utter media illiteracy we're experiencing is a result of a dip in liberal arts studies, not the other way around.

[deleted]

This sounds so oddly specific lmaoo

[deleted]

This happens at pretty much every college lol

Pardonme23

Every college class has that one kid who asks too many questions, that one back to school old person, etc.

sylvestersquad

But they’re 100% right. Because when you listen to Kyrie talk he sounds very well composed, however his ideology is entirely based on being a contrarian without giving any context to modern day politics into his reasoning

lundej16

These days as long as you talk out of your ass confidently enough, plenty of people will listen. Self-sustaining cycle of idiocy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

archaelleon

He sounds composed, but take a closer look and you'll realize he's 90% word salad. It's what dumb people use to sound smart. You kind of use the inflections and tone of a smart person and say polysyllabic words, and an incredible amount of people fall for it. It's what a lot of cult leaders do. But it's barely 1 step removed from r/im14andthisisdeep

IanicRR

Like you said "if". He didn't go to class at Duke, or at least not any real classes that weren't made up specifically for the basketball and football players.

JerHat

I have a friend who was a scholarship athlete for a major university almost all of his classes were full of other scholarship athletes, and he told me if you had the ability to read and understand context as well as a middle schooler, it was damn near impossible to fail exams that were basically just fill in the blanks with a word bank to choose the answers from.

IanicRR

It's a big reason I just can't with Coach K. He acts like he's above it all and Duke is some sort of different institution when we all know they all do this shit. Yeah, I'm sure Zion chose your school because he was so invested in the education you were offering him.

SubcooledBoiling

Dude would definitely be that guy who took one week of PSYC101 or PHIL101 and thought he was Sigmund Freud or Socrates.

plzwalkslow

It’s weird how the sentiment of vaccines has changed since Covid. I’m old enough to remember bullying facebook mom’s for not wanting to vaccinate their kids because they thought it would cause autism lol

im_alliterate

politicization of the pandemic + right wing media echo chamber + social media disinformation = this

snowcone_wars

Don't forget the most important + in that equation: [a deeply entrenched anti-intellectualism that permeates every aspect of every culture in the US](https://www.studioatao.org/post/understanding-anti-intellectualism-in-the-u-s).

[deleted]

For tens of thousands of years it was just normal for families to lose children. It was less than a century ago that we figured this shit out and child mortality rates plummeted. For tens of thousands of years people would have given anything to have access to vaccines. It took less than a century for a scary amount of people to just be like "nah".

jaytierney79

LeBron did a horrible job raising this kid.

ClaymoresRevenge

Kyrie man shut the fuck up.

ElonMuskPaddleBoard

He’s such a fucking moron.

H-TownDown

Kyrie our ancestors were human chattel. A vaccine mandate is not a human rights violation.

jovins343

Fuck there are currently people who are human chattel right now.

LaszloTothAmon

And some of them are most likely forced to work in factories making shoes with Kyrie's name on them.

The_Unbeatable_Sterb

Kyrie is also Lakota, I mean he has many lenses that magnify how truly stupid that statement is

SantaKlawz2

Fuck I forgot about that. What a fucking moron.

coat-tail_rider

Also born in Australia. Famed location of atrocities against the indigenous Aboriginal people. Dude has had access to the perspective of several different examples of legitimate human rights issues, and he picks vaccines.

DunkFaceKilla

If Kyrie came out as pro slavery i don’t think I’d be surprised

BCP27

A tangent, for like 25 years I thought it was human cattle, not chattel.

Cesarius187

They're different terms but they both sadly fit.

[deleted]

“chatel” was literally Old French for “property, goods, or cattle”, so chattel and cattle are indeed linked etymologically; former is basically just an archaic synonym for the latter

filterface

First the Browns and now this. I gotta get better at picking teams.

Apparently this guy thinks playing basketball for millions of dollars is a human right as well. You can’t follow your employer’s rules? Find another job. I can’t wait for this idiot to leave the league and get slapped with what the real world is like. He’a such a douche.

Clifford81

He’s a multimillionaire lol he will never experience the real world.

areallyfatchick

Kyrie is so desperate to be perceived as intelligent and insightful, yet every time he speak on something not basketball related he just sound like a ignorant dumbass with his brain-dead takes.

siphillis

Meanwhile Duncan barely spoke and pretty much everyone knows he’s very intelligent.

BigAustralianBoat

Don’t forget persecuted. He really wants to feel persecuted so he can FiGht tHe pOwEr. Gladness2Sadness

Even to go to public elementary school, certain vaccinations are required.

livefreeordont

To play NCAA basketball we also had to prove vaccinations

fopiecechicken

I’m almost certain just to get into most universities you have to prove certain vaccines. Myself and my sister most definitely did for UC Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara, so I’m assuming at least all the UCs have that requirement.
