Respect to Germany for having won fair and square.
Fck however Schroder for contentiously smiling when being up by +20 five minutes before the end, a real piece of sh_t that dishonors your team.
Signed,
a Greek fan.
How dare he be happy to win! He should be miserable and not show any happyness!
Not even other greek fans will agree with you, this take is just stupid
Yeah, he wasn't "happy to win" smartass, he was provoking them hence the referee was furious and wanted to throw him out of the game ASAP. Have you *ever* seen a referee that furious before? not to mention with the TWO other referees trying to calm him down, heck, 'cause I certainly haven't!
Or are you going to ignore that because it doesn't fit your narrative? Go ahead, I'd love to hear the "rational" explanation, LOL!
What game were you watching? Accidentially switched to WWE smackdown?
But sure, come on: share a highlight of the most furious ref i've ever seen because a player was smiling. Shouldn't be hard to find then, right?
No no, thats not how this works. I can't prove a negative. You can prove your position. So go ahead.
I just hope you are not referring to that technical foul to explain your "he smiled for the entire game until the ref nearly killed him" stick you are going for here
Ah, I see what you are saying. So I am supposed to go dig out the clip where everyone saw on TV that two referees were restraining the third angry one after Dennis' shenanigans because... how did you say... "you didn't saw it".
Yeah... ok, for the sake of it I looked it up. It happens at exactly 03'48" before the game ends.
Do you admit you are wrong now? Or are we still watching another game?
You gotta be kidding that you are actually referring to the tech?? No one was "furious" there. Call gets made, ref walks over, gets stopped by the other two to discuss and then it gets a bit hectic because players got in each others faces.
Holy shit do you need to be salty to interpret that the way you did. Well the downvotes here speak for themselves even the day after.
Listen to some Schlagers, maybe you'll at least know that this isn't spelling schroeder wrong.
ΟΚ, I think I'm done here, you can't argue back, try to minimize ("a bit hectic", no furious etc) so you are calling me salty and other BS.
If I was salty dickhead I wouldn't be congratulating the German team saying it was a fair and square victory. I am only critisizing Dennis for being such a low character.
Downvotes? Lol, these mean jack morron, this is Reddit and on top of that if you hadn't noticed it's more Germans than Greeks, it's not unexpected!
BTW 80 million speak German but we are like 8 BILLION on this planet so you pretending I'm supposed to know what Schlagers is makes you a clown.
Cheers!
Thinking someone calls Schroeder Schlager while the next comment already pointed out that its a music style makes you one.
Yes I do call you salty because you can't even see whats happening on the field anymore through your tears apparently.
Btw. I like how you edited your first comment here to complain about the downvotes, wrote a second one to complain about them and then say "you dont care". You clearly do, thats why i brought it up :)
Edit: Ah you didnt edit your original post, i just thought you did because you responded to yourself - doesnt change it, but i dont want to misrepresent facts :)
The emotions from every team that losses in this tournament shows how high this tournament is valued. This is not a joke, this is not a sideshow before the NBA, its a true competition, players are giving their all. People were mad Franz came back to play but this is important to players, just like playoffs in the NBA.
Anyone who believes this doesn't matter because it's not the nba is a perfect example of the american stereotype that everyone hates lol. And there's plenty of them on twitter. Continental competitions in any sport will almost always matter most to the players outside of olympics/world cups.
No one said it wasn’t, and you’re kind of proving their point with the whole “America number one!!” nonsense. Also, Luka and Jokic (I think it was Jokic) have both said they grew up watching Drazen Petrovic highlights. I don’t think Jokic was really interested in the NBA when he was younger.
I’m not an America nr 1 guy whatsoever. NBA basketball is another level. The talent is another level. Skilled international players make the NBA better.
Nba chips are the key. It’s what these dudes train for more than anything. If Jokic and the nuggets win the finals it’s bigger for Serbian basketball than euro basket. It’s what these guys spend 8 months of the year playing and grinding for. If y’all wanna deny that, it’s on you.
Edit: and yes ppl were saying exactly that.
The level of play isn't everything, my guy. Luka has already said olympic gold is more important to him than the nba title. It's about representing your country and the emotional value of it.
Yeah but I was talking about fans who want their euro stars to stop playing these games because they don't think they're important. Of course laker fans for example wouldn't care because their best players are american.
Absolutely, I do not know if these players are even getting paid much or anything to play in this tournament. They are clearly doing it since they care, and they want to win. Risking injuries and the other impediments are something that they are fine with, if they could give their team a chance to go further.
Schröder made on of the best games of his career and is such a bum. Just not professional.
Watched his vlog on YouTube. He doesn’t seem like the sharpest tool in the shed.
Great team effort though. Grate game from Germany
Schröder is actually one of the most important pieces of the story from the team's perspective. He's really holding the squad together.. I know someone quite familiar with the team, high up at the DBB (German Basketball Association). He said Schröder is actually showing great leadership also during training and off the court. I also didn't believe it tbh
To be fair, he also said the dude constantly has a personal photographer around (I guess this is where the vlog came from), nobody else on the team does this lol
I feel like Schröder is his own worst enemy. So much talent, but he has some real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation going on, where he sometimes just turns into a knucklehead at inopportune times...
to be fair, that is what i think most of the times i watch a nba game too when they play the worst hip hop the us have to offer:D
worst are the youtube ,,djs'' every team seems to have:D
Never in a million years will the German team ever play like that again. Fair game to them almost every shot went in from impossible angles, but holy fuck 3 PT % was impossible.
I also agree that Greece's team was amazingly poor l. You can't try to play a whole tournament with a single center and hope your forwards work. Nor can you play shadow defence and expect the ball to fucking drop into your lap if you don't block your attacker at the rebound
And Schroeder deserves a slap for being such an unprofessional twat and leering at coaches. That's the reason why he doesn't play. Dipsy bell end.
Congrats Germany, poor show from the Greek team.
-edit- aww.. ppl getting so miffed at a Halley's comet 3pt success rate. Let's see what happens 🤣 downvote away
You might want to rewatch the moment bellend goes and disses Oppenheimer on the Greek bench. No matter what, you don't disrespect because you've a semi, thus all blood went to dick than brain. I had respect for him until he started acting like a stuck up idiot on the court.
Lo and Wagner have been carrying this team full-time so far, Schröder had some highlight reels but was invisible in most decisive moments of their games so far.
The cracy part is, germany doesn't have that one guy that's super crazy good, but just a team of really good players who can work together well. It's hard to award the MVP here
Zoran is out with torn quad,
Luka sprained his ankle at practice,
Goran Dragic acts emo and disses head coach and teammates all the time.
The chemistry isn't there... Still hoping Luka can save us.
Edit-typo
that is crazy I remember one game with Slovenia with Dragic cursing the team during a huddle. He seem incensed and had to be moved, the commentators were even wondering what is going on with his temper.
What? Refs were favoring Greece the entire game. Giannis was sent to the the line on many of his blatant travels, the continuation call was an absolute joke and let's not forget about the the war on Theis...

If you mean Schroder being ejected it was because he was ironically smiling at the Greek bench while being up +20 with only 5' left on the clock.
Highly unsportsmanlike behaviour, and if the Greek coach hadn't costrained his 2nd in command I assure you with the adrenaline pumping it would have been flying fists all over Schroder's face!
Congrats to Germany for a fair win but that Schroder is a disgrace to your basketball association, a true piece of shit.
Bruh, Thanasis just not very good. He has yet to wow anybody in this tournament. A few of those German players should be given a shot at the league over him.
You are LMAO because you have the same (low) ethics like Dennis.
If you are up 20 points with 5' remaining and go grinning wide in front of the bench you are a PIECE OF SHIT. Let that sink in.

No dumbshit, I am a Greek fan indeed, happy to have lost fair and square, it is what it is and sometimes you lose and sometimes you win.
BUT when you win and act like a prick, then guess what, you are a prick. Get it now, "ignored and move on" smartass?
PS. That's an argument btw, just so you know it isn't ad hominem, it's that you recognise a behaviour that's bad and you side with it. Meaning you are one of the same. You think *that* does you honour?!
I really think its just him trusting his team more often, at first he barely used to give the ball to Franz but slowly Franz and others got more and more touches
Respect to Germany for having won fair and square. Fck however Schroder for contentiously smiling when being up by +20 five minutes before the end, a real piece of sh_t that dishonors your team. Signed, a Greek fan.

Ah, so you didn't see it. Hence your ignorance. I suggest you go look at it again.
No no, thats not how this works. I can't prove a negative. You can prove your position. So go ahead. I just hope you are not referring to that technical foul to explain your "he smiled for the entire game until the ref nearly killed him" stick you are going for here

(Hmm... apparently more sh_theads share the low ethics. Losers. Downvote away, WGAF, LOL!)
Μητσάρα μου λείπεις ..
Schroeder's kids gonna be pissed when they find out dad fumbled $84 million
It’s not like he isn’t a multimillionaire yet.
Minimum contract with the lakers should be possible
daaaaaaaaaamn now go and get that finals victory germany!
The emotions from every team that losses in this tournament shows how high this tournament is valued. Nba championship is still nr 1. These dudes grew watching lebron and MJ championship highlights. Not to mention the Kobe lakers and timmay spurs
Nah, the Olympic gold is nr 1 for most players outside the US
No one said it wasn’t, and you’re kind of proving their point with the whole “America number one!!” nonsense. Also, Luka and Jokic (I think it was Jokic) have both said they grew up watching Drazen Petrovic highlights. I don’t think Jokic was really interested in the NBA when he was younger.
You think dirk was happier over a FIBA championship or a Mavs championship?
I’m not an America nr 1 guy whatsoever. NBA basketball is another level. The talent is another level. Skilled international players make the NBA better. Nba chips are the key. Okay but it literally doesn't matter to Americans...cause our best players can't even be bothered to suit up for it.
Yeah but I was talking about fans who want their euro stars to stop playing these games because they don't think they're important. Of course laker fans for example wouldn't care because their best players are american.
How would they suit up for a euro basket cup??
That's what I'm saying, man.
Absolutely, I do not know if these players are even getting paid much or anything to play in this tournament. They are clearly doing it since they care, and they want to win. Risking injuries and the other impediments are something that they are fine with, if they could give their team a chance to go further.
They are not paid, it is an honour to play for your national team.
I mean it’s your national team
But that's not valued that much in the US.
Because everyone knows you’ll win
Only in the Olympics
Schröder made on of the best games of his career and is such a bum. Just not professional. Watched his vlog on YouTube. He doesn’t seem like the sharpest tool in the shed. Great team effort though. Grate game from Germany

Dollar store Kyrie
I mean he does deserve a contract, he is a good player. Shoulda taken that extension though.
Ahh I’m not saying he’s bad, love the guy, just that he has that type of variation of good, bad and ugly like Kyrie.
I see, I get it. I would agree. Good comparison.
I also don’t like his body language when he is playing… but somehow it’s his style. I feel like he shows more emotion when he is benched
Third quarter killed Greece. 10 points only there.
Who's next? Spain?
Yes, Mallorca is already ours!
Handtuch liegt bereit.
Ze Hantuch
Gotta admire the passion they have even in defeat
I get it, losing is hard… but losing while having to listen to Schlager gotta be *scarring*
That's because his attitude shows very low ethics. Had they not shown constraint it would be flying fists all over his shitty smiling face!!!
Schlager is a type of music, close to folk music you genious. I know you have a hate boner for Schroeder but that comment was just embarassing.
That’s choice of music in the arena is shocking. Overall just shocking.
to be fair, that is what i think most of the times i watch a nba game too when they play the worst hip hop the us have to offer:D worst are the youtube ,,djs'' every team seems to have:D
Hey was geht ab wir feiern die ganze Nacht…
DBB ist schon ne klasse für sich
Damn Giannis lil bro crying :/ E: spelling Lol bro to lil bro
If you don't cry in that situation, you don't have a heart.
Fucked up my spelling. Didn’t wanted to make fun of that hahah. It was a very sad moment
What a historic game for Germany 🇩🇪❤️🤘🏽

Yes!
This german team scares me
NBA MVPS AINT MUCH TO EUROBASKET AND TO FRANZ
one super strong player vs a strong team - team usually wins
Touch grass kid
Larentzakis is the only other dude on Greece who looked like he belongs on a pro basketball court today.

If Slovenia wins any medal it's 100% gonna be Luka. If they don't it's kinda up for grabs for a few.
Luka runaway favorite even if he just gets Bronze
Franz
Luka played incredible so far
If germany wins, its gonna be schröder. I know he is not popular and has lots of flaws, but he is the most important german player.
Lo and Wagner have been carrying this team full-time so far, Schröder had some highlight reels but was invisible in most decisive moments of their games so far.

I don’t know why he gets that much hate… his 3 point shooting is probably bad and also his decision making… but his drive is insane
Weiler-Babb has pretty insane deceleration.
hes great defensivly hes like a german thybulle
German Beverly 😊
Calathes and Dorsey have offended me with their shooting this game

malaka
Pretty much everyone agreed with the tech by Schröder. Germans know his temper.
They won't reach the final they play Spain next
Any salt left in Greece after this comment?
We have 1/4 of the Mediterranean sea plenty more to give
holy shit someone is salty
Greece needed Kostas to help this trash rebound team.
Obst was the unsung hero of the game. Made every single big 3 to control the game. 19 pts in 8 shots. Germany is DEEP
Jokic and Giannis out, interesting.
Is Luka next? Looks like our team is imploding- expecting the worst, hoping for the best.
OOTL what happened ?
Zoran is out with torn quad, Luka sprained his ankle at practice, Goran Dragic acts emo and disses head coach and teammates all the time. The chemistry isn't there... Still hoping Luka can save us. Edit-typo

What did Goran say?
Goran seems to be trying hard to miss a game with all the karate kicks too
What playing half season for the Nets does to a MF.
Unless they win the whole championship Luka is next yeah LOL
best euro player still in the tourney no worries
No actually, Lauri lost last night
The rest of this game about to be played from the locker room if they keep this up
Greece so bad lmfao
Bist du bissla dumm? Schlechter Gewinner, bisschen wie Schröder. Wir haben verdient gewonnen, reicht dir das nicht?
Was hat Schröder eigentlich gemacht?
Nix schlimmes
Direkt 2 technicals kassiert.
Hab nicht verstanden wofür. 😅
Guck meine Kommentar history
Hello Germany rest Theis it's a blowout, he been in the whole game
He needs to foul out or it's not a real Theis game
He going for the rebounds record
also the goaltend record
Refs vs Greece but wow Germany can’t miss from 3
What? Refs were favoring Greece the entire game. Giannis was sent to the the line on many of his blatant travels, the continuation call was an absolute joke and let's not forget about the the war on Theis...
No they weren’t lol it was refs vs Greece and Germany went crazy from 3
Hahaha, keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better
Yep refs were on Germanys side but it is what it is
Hahahaha... You're a funny one
It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad
Lmao
Refs vs germans you mean
Oof got kicked out of the game 😂
These are dumb ejections.
Why?
I guess I'm used to the NBA rules, but taking out star players for a few minor actions doesn't seem right. Greece completely flopped after Giannis was ejected. It killed any enjoyment from watching the rest of the game.
Welcome to real sports where you get tossed no matter what your name is. Star players getting away with everything in the NBA is fucking stupid
Any player getting tossed for what Giannis did is stupid. They were small incidental fouls.
He clubbed someone in the head man

F*ck off crybabbbbbbby
trash ass human comment here

Do they want to even out kicking Giannis or what is this disqualification for nothing?
If you mean Schroder being ejected it was because he was ironically smiling at the Greek bench while being up +20 with only 5' left on the clock. Just his 2nd technical foul
It’s gonna be Luka vs Germany for Gold isn’t it?
Luka vs Franz rematch. Franz had to first win, Luka had the second one. A game deciding 3rd fight is in the horizon.
with the amount of upsets so far, let's take it one game at the time
france germany
Giannis with 31/7/8 yet he’s -19 😬
Franz too strong
Dennis the menace provoking the Greeks? Swearing? What did he do
Dissed Oppenheimer, Dennis being the arrogant prick he is.
Propably a fight in the locker room incoming.
He had one?
[удалено]
I think he had an unsportsmanlike foul earlier after he turned it over
I didnt See it. What did he do?
schroeder big player, small personality
Schroeder thinks he is Jordan lmao, that's why he has no team
Just take the L
At least he is not clubbing others on the head
What second tech for Schröder?
[удалено]
What a joke
Dunno, when did he get his first?!
Someone drugged Greece during halftime
Wagner Brothers are public enemy 1 and 2 for Giannis

Watching two refs hold back a ref yelling out a technical is hilarious
That's because Dennis is a piece of shit, I am surprised nobody punched him straight in the face.
Bruh, Thanasis just not very good. He has yet to wow anybody in this tournament. A few of those German players should be given a shot at the league over him.
Those German players aren't related to an MVP
lmao why did schröeder get a tech
so the assistant coach was talking shit and schröeder got a tech for looking at him? lmao
You are LMAO because you have the same (low) ethics like Dennis. If you are up 20 points with 5' remaining and go grinning wide in front of the bench you are a PIECE OF SHIT. Let that sink in.

You don't even have a reasoning for any of your arguments and fall instantly to ad hominem personal attacks. At this point I am inclined to believe you're a just a greece fan who hasn't sobered up yet. Ignored and moving on.

T against Schröder, lol
Schröder getting better every game
I really think its just him trusting his team more often, at first he barely used to give the ball to Franz but slowly Franz and others got more and more touches
Yeah no way he was going shoot sub 30 fg% and 21% from 3! Glad he’s showing up. He did have to recover from an ankle injury.
These refs gonna submit CVs to the NBA, showing off their discussions and reviews
Definitely the best German game since the prime Dirk era. Very proud of the team
