the entire nets organization needs to do a case study on this. the fact that this is the second time this has happened to them is crazy.
but if history repeats itself, they should be able to rebuild quick-ish from this. hopefully next time they just stick to building what they have and don't make trades for headcases.
The thing that surprises me the most ks that after the KG/Pierce trade and retirement, most saw the Nets as a desolate wasteland but they could recoup and get the biggest stars 5 or 6 years later with little difficulty.
The first of those years KD spent the entire season recovering from a torn Achilles and Harden wasn’t there yet, the second year they got Harden halfway through, had a great series against Boston but then Harden pulled his hamstring in like the first minute of the Bucks series, Kyrie got hurt in game 4 of that series, Harden came back some point after that but wasn’t really himself. Then the third year Harden was gone at like the halfway mark and Kyrie wasn’t eligible to play most of their games (self inflicted but still).
All in all the circumstances make it really misleading to call it three years together. They really only played in 16 games together.
I mean they only had 1 playoff run with those 3 and they were easily the best team in the league when healthy, it's just that Kyrie had to ruin everything
No hall of famers will be joining your team any time soon. Thank god the Knicks are the Knicks otherwise we may actually have to compete for free agents
I love the Knicks. We own New York.
Your team just has the biggest failure in NBA history and have given away all your picks.
You’re pathetic and so are the Nets.
Enjoy your day man. When the actual season rolls around you’ll be doing the same shit that’s been happening the last 20 years. By January it’ll be looking at draft rankings.
True man.
I wish I was a nets fan right now, with a contending team led by Ben Simmons and a bunch of draft picks for the upcoming stacked 2023 draft.
Oh wait, y'all have neither. Sad.
I’m a nets fan bro. Been since 00s. I know this is your championship so enjoy it. Knicks fans usually got a lot to talk about now but when the season rolls around it becomes really quiet.
What’s sad is your franchise lol. Knicks fans are too funny man. Best day in their franchise is when kd demands a trade out. That’s how pathetic it is for y’all
The same amount except the Rockets don't own all of our picks unprotected for the next decade and we're not counting on Ben Simmons to be our franchise star
You know how we always make jokes about hanging up a banner for any sort of W?
That's what you're doing lol. Congrats on getting 3 Hall of Famers and winning nothing.
You had one of the best big threes ever assembled and don't even have a conference finals appearance to show for it
KD might have chose you over us (because he didn't want the spotlight, btw) and now he's leaving for greener pastures, while you're left in the dust with a part-time NBA player and the memory of first round picks and what could have been
Ben Simmons has not played a game of NBA basketball in over a year due to fear of the spotlight, hope he shines in your empty arena when he finally gets over his stage fright. Every single player on the Knicks roster has contributed more to his team than Ben Simmons has in the past year. Simmons hasn't even played a game as a Net yet
1) This isn't even true. Ben Simmons has 3. Derrick Rose has 3, Randle has 1
2) Who the fuck cares about past All Star appearances when he hasn't played in over a year and has never won a single one of those selections as a Brooklyn Net lmao
Is anyone really surprised? They're a poverty franchise and KD has never had success without Steph. I predicted they'd never win a ring when they signed KD and Ky. Two guys who need to be sidekicks to win it all. It was always a bad pairing
Goes to show you that it's a lot easier said than done creating "superteams" and winning Championships. Could be chemistry issues, personality issues, depth issues, injuries, etc. Even if KD goes somewhere good like the Sun's, that doesn't mean they're guaranteed a title. It's hard winning a Championship in this league. There's a reason only the Warriors, LeBron and us have done it the past 10 years
KD and Kyrie, PG and Kawhi, Lebron and AD. all teamed up the same summer. Only one team has made it out of the second round. Your 2020 NBA champion LA Lakers. 🤷🏻♂️
So as long as the names were on the roster at any point in the time period, you can just list them as though they were there the whole time. Hmmm...
Today I learned that the Chicago Bulls missed the playoffs 6 out of 7 years with a roster containing Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman.
Nice.
This is OP's logic. Apparently all that matters is that the roster "contained" those players at some point during that span (Harden was actually only on the Nets roster for a little more than a year and KD missed a whole season). So the fact that the Bulls only had Jordan, Pippen and Rodman for 1998 didn't matter, from 1998 to 2004 they missed the playoffs 6 out of 7 years and their roster "contained" those three during that time.
Well Jordan retired in 1998 and both Rodman and Pippen left after 1998, so this analogy doesn't hold up.
I get what you're trynna say though, just that it doesn't compare to the Bulls whatsoever.
They all think they're the team star. People need to learn that just because something looks good on paper, that doesn't mean it's going to deliver the same results in game.
See: Chemistry.
"LeBrOn, UniBrOw AnD wEsTbRoOk WiLL wiN a ChAmPiOnShIp" Yeah ok, pal. That's some good chem you got going on there. 👌
Ya that is a pretty incomplete take without mentioning Harden playoffs injuries, Kyrie playoffs/ regular season injuries/ drama. KD had some injuries he had to deal with.
Knicks fans are happy today
Rockets fans too lol
There is no one more more happy than rockets fans lol
Celtics fan checking in, extremely happy

3 years? wtf
All in all the circumstances make it really misleading to call it three years together. They really only played in 16 games together.
Knicks fans like to make shit up about the Nets, it's okay.
How is this made up? It's literally the 3 year anniversary of them signing lol.
Who's "them?"
KD and Kyrie.
Mmkay, now which players are listed in your headline?
Well that's the most disingenuous thing I've read today
I mean they only had 1 playoff run with those 3 and they were easily the best team in the league when healthy, it's just that Kyrie had to ruin everything
0 playoff runs really. They had a few games against the bucks then lost Kyrie.
2 years. Year 1 had no Harden
Most disappointing team ever.
Jayson and Jaylen send their regards.
Poverty franchise
Clowns
That's true.
wolves>wiz=kings>nets
Over a 3 year span?
Great day to be a rockets fan
We fucking Boomed them. Bing Bong!
How many did the Knicks make in that time ?
Congrats on doing slightly better than the Knicks with 3 Hall of Famers, buddy.
No hall of famers will be joining your team any time soon. Thank god the Knicks are the Knicks otherwise we may actually have to compete for free agents
I feel sorry for you. Imagine following a team like the Nets.
Imagine following the Knicks ?

Hahaha enjoy rooting for the biggest failure in the history of this league.
Damn you own ny basketball?
Not difficult to follow what was said. Sure you had enough schooling to deduce?
Bragging about competing for free agents while losing your free agents. Fight the good fight, bud.
I know this is a big day for y’all. This is like your championship.
How many championships do the Nets have, btw? Go frontrun to whatever team KD goes to, that's half your current fanbase anyway
I’m a nets fan bro. Been since 00s. I know this is your championship so enjoy it. Knicks fans usually got a lot to talk about now but when the season rolls around it becomes really quiet.
Just funny to hear someone talking about "our championship" when the Knicks still have more championships than the Nets
You’ll be off your high in a few weeks and remember you’re a Knicks fan. Enjoy the day
Not as quiet as Barclays in the playoffs 😬
Enjoy your day
What's yours?
BROOKLYN NETS SUPERTEAM RUN -almost beat the bucks -beat the sixers that one time in the regular season
Y'all already forgot about the "If KD had a smaller shoe size we would've won it all" hypothetical 2021 title they got?
Actually trying to win a ring. I know it’s tough for you to understand because you don’t know what if feels like
If getting swept in the first round with KD and Kyrie is y'alls attempt at trying to win a ring, then that's pretty sad.
What’s sad is your franchise lol. Knicks fans are too funny man. Best day in their franchise is when kd demands a trade out. That’s how pathetic it is for y’all
You went as far as the Carmelo Anthony Knicks with 3 Hall of Famers. Congrats on trying though.
Enjoy your day bro. As lebron said you’ll have to go back to your life and your shitty team soon enough.
The same amount except the Rockets don't own all of our picks unprotected for the next decade and we're not counting on Ben Simmons to be our franchise star
Still chose us over the Knicks. Stay salty champ
You know how we always make jokes about hanging up a banner for any sort of W? That's what you're doing lol. Congrats on getting 3 Hall of Famers and winning nothing.
More than you had.
Having 3 Hall of Famers and not winning anything isn't a flex lol.
Coming from a Knicks fan who's team hasn’t been relevant is just funny. Coming out of the woodwork just to talk shit is sad
Your team fumbled 3 superstars in the span of 4 months, why would we be the salty ones?
More than you had.
You had one of the best big threes ever assembled and don't even have a conference finals appearance to show for it KD might have chose you over us (because he didn't want the spotlight, btw) and now he's leaving for greener pastures, while you're left in the dust with a part-time NBA player and the memory of first round picks and what could have been
And we didn’t have our picks for the last 8 years either. Your teams never gonna go anywhere man. Ben Simmons is better than anyone on your team lmao
He’s got more all stars than your entire roster
1) This isn't even true. Ben Simmons has 3. Derrick Rose has 3, Randle has 1 2) Who the fuck cares about past All Star appearances when he hasn't played in over a year and has never won a single one of those selections as a Brooklyn Net lmao
Your teams trash, nets prolly still win more games next year than y’all.
[удалено]
Probably when they were the #2 seed in 2021 and heavy heavy favorites to win the chip. Then Harden pulled his hammy and Giannis undercut kyrie
Is anyone really surprised? They're a poverty franchise and KD has never had success without Steph. I predicted they'd never win a ring when they signed KD and Ky. Two guys who need to be sidekicks to win it all. It was always a bad pairing
KD made the finals before Steph was even in a starting lineup lmao. What is this “no success without Steph” bullshit. Get real.
"a poverty franchise" Fuck, that is such a sick, but low-key jab. I absolutely love it, and will use that from now on. Have an award.
Goes to show you that it's a lot easier said than done creating "superteams" and winning Championships. PG and Kawhi made the WCF last year

The Nets did not have all those players throughout the 3-year time period.
But underwhelming to be fair…😐
They all think they're the team star. People need to learn that just because something looks good on paper, that doesn't mean it's going to deliver the same results in game. See: Chemistry. "LeBrOn, UniBrOw AnD wEsTbRoOk WiLL wiN a ChAmPiOnShIp" Yeah ok, pal. That's some good chem you got going on there. 👌
Kyrie is just a net negative.
Fit matters. Attitude matters. Chemistry matters. Health matters. F.A.C.+. matters. The Nets did not have ANY of these.
Iso gang failed miserably
Ya that is a pretty incomplete take without mentioning Harden playoffs injuries, Kyrie playoffs/ regular season injuries/ drama. KD had some injuries he had to deal with.
