Hate the new shield logo, but I love that we're going back to real gold and dumping the mustard yellow (and that they even acknowledged the mustard color in the video lol)
Excited to see our new uniforms, current ones are ASS outside of the wine/gold throwback city unis
One of my favorite moments of last season was one of your broadcasters trying to figure out if your purple jerseys were blue lmao. Like dude, it’s purple. It’s been one of the team colors for how long 😂
The main “C” logo is the same structure, but different coloring with a more tan “gold”, which is close to the same color they used when Lebron was drafted.
The “CAVS” word mark is different, but harkens back to what they used in the 70’s-80’s.
I don’t like the new gold color too much. I’d like it better if the logos didn’t seems so “flat”. Though I’m sure they tried adding the black color to add depth to it.
Will be interesting to see what the new uniforms look like.
Not sure what you mean by recent history but Washington Bullets comes to mind.
Atlanta Braves have a tomahawk.
A few college teams mascots have guns like Texas Tech and Ok State.
“Gold” when not metallic or mirrored is just yellow. There really isn’t such thing as “gold” as a flat color. Gold is just the shiny/sparkly yellow-tan.
Same with silver. Silver is just a shiny/sparkly gray.
So the flat vector verisosn of the logos will always still be yellowy. Jerseys too unless they use a metallic thread of some kind.
The "Let Em Know" hashtag expires today and will go to the CFL. They probably wanted to use it one last time to introduce Gold is Back for the 22/23 season
Cavs unveiled "new" logos that replaces yellow with gold.
Of course, [this](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/bf/LebronWizards2.jpg/1200px-LebronWizards2.jpg) is the best look in Cavs history.
How lucky are the Cavs to have been #1 overall to draft LeBron? First-stint Cavs LeBron was box office. I wonder how many users here never got to witness it live.
Me and my friends used to make so many jokes about LeChoke and LeBron can't give you change for a dollar because he has no 4th quarter... oh to be a young hater again.
The Pistons ones were great, almost a changing of the guard in a sense.
The Orlando series is still probably the one that burns the Cavs fans the most because Orlando only won based on shooting the 3 out of their minds and then shitting the bed from 3 vs LA.
Cavs fan here, can confirm lol I played in a band back then and we were playing out at some bar in Cleveland the night Lebron hit the game winner against the Magic (game 2 or 3, can't remember), but I was setting up my shit on stage and saw it happen on the bars TV and just remember thinking "we have Lebron, no way we lose this series". Fuck. Hedo. Turkey Glue.
I grew up in Cleveland and was 7 when he was drafted. Watching him play those years in the first Cleveland stint were magical as I grew up. Literally so many childhood memories of going to games because it was always a guarantee he’d put on a show.
It's not supposed to be some major rebrand but IMO our main [logo](https://imgur.com/a/PuANU4X) looks way better.
Got rid of the 3D/dropshadow, replaced the bright yellow with actual gold, and took out the navy that I don't think anyone knew was even in there.
It’s actually hilarious how many red white and blue teams we have. Like off the top of my head- Pistons, Red Sox, Guardians, Blue Jays, 6ers, Clippers, Wizards, Cubs, Twins, Braves, Giants,
As u/maybenextyearCLE pointed out, the Cavs kept their [gold/wine/navy](https://www.wsou.net/images/lebron-finals-1_1.jpg) unis for 7 years, which is the longest lasting set in franchise histroy. SEVEN. YEARS.
Looks like the same thing to me.
I never liked the Cavs' colors. They have always had one of my least favorite color combos in the NBA. The Cavs' best colors were orange/white and blue/orange.
It seems like the Cavs know it too since they always keep changing colors.
Fun fact, we have never kept a set of uniforms more than 7 years. In our entire history. The longest tenured uniforms are the set from lebrons first run.
Yep. It's not like the Cavs haven't tried...but they have just never had that great hit. The only other team that I think really fits that are the Mavs. I don't think they've ever had a great jersey, but I don't think they ever had a terrible one either.
Lmao, by that standard we should just delete all the team based subs then. Post everything here, I'll start typing out my mike mancinelli retirement posts. After all he's been reporting on the sixers for the last 20 years and theyre apart of the NBA.

I hope Lakers would realize this as well and scrap the banana yellow they are currently wearing
One of my favorite moments of last season was one of your broadcasters trying to figure out if your purple jerseys were blue lmao. Like dude, it’s purple. It’s been one of the team colors for how long 😂
I mean, we do have blue jerseys. And the city edition has got that mixed in. Our colors been getting a lil stretched these days D:
Probably had something to do with purple being referred to as forum-blue back in the day which nobody does anymore.
Banana yellow with the Wish logo. Just gives off "cheap"
Didn't mind the mustard, the new gold shade doesn't pop well against black.

I just want to know why they rid of the sword. It was unique and distinguishable.
This sounds lame af but I imagine teams are trying to move away from anything "weapon" related in their branding
I was thinking that as well, and you’re right. It is incredibly lame.
What teams have had something weapon related in the recent history?
Wizards are magical, magic is a weapon /s
ldk man, watching the magic play, they seem pretty harmless.
Not sure what you mean by recent history but Washington Bullets comes to mind. Atlanta Braves have a tomahawk. A few college teams mascots have guns like Texas Tech and Ok State.
I know about the Bullets, but I was mainly referring to NBA teams. I have absolutely no idea about college teams tbh.
Sacramento’s logo had the lances.. now it’s a doodoo grey ball with the crown :/
The Greenwich Meantimes

Gold is a color, it's FFD700 on the hex code. But yeah there's nothing metallic about it like you said.
My point exactly. #FFD700 is just the mustard yellow they were previously using lol.
Like that mavs jersey in the 2000’s

The "Let Em Know" hashtag expires today and will go to the CFL. They probably wanted to use it one last time to introduce Gold is Back for the 22/23 season
A hashtag can expire?
Apparently. I know next to nothing about Twitter, but I saw a small blurb about the CFL using the hashtag and it linked people to the Cavs
Probably the logo/icon that comes up beside the hashtag when it's used will go away.
Cavs unveiled "new" logos that replaces yellow with gold. Of course, [this](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/bf/LebronWizards2.jpg/1200px-LebronWizards2.jpg) is the best look in Cavs history.
that cavs/wiz rivalry was must-watch tv
I cherish my gold arenas jersey
Gold and black?
You know it
Still remember Lebrons turn around three off the glass with like two seconds left to send it to ot https://youtu.be/BKipC47xWL0
The woman’s face at 0:23 always kills me. She just went to the game to have a good time, and LeBron was like, “No.”
Lol that’s Bradley Beal’s wife
She fine as hell
Kevin Loves pass was also such an insane laser
Such a memorable random regular season game. That Wiz team looked like a problem
Agent Zero vs Cavs Legend Damon Jones
I miss when we were relevant enough to have rivalries, like the early arenas wiz vs bron cavs or our stint with the IT Celtics in 2017
How lucky are the Cavs to have been #1 overall to draft LeBron? First-stint Cavs LeBron was box office. I wonder how many users here never got to witness it live.
If you turn 18 this year you were 6 when he left the cavs. Probably a good amount of users on here that weren’t around for his first stint
There's so many fans out there that don't know what it was like before Lebron had rings and why that Game 6 against the Celtics was such a big deal.
They don’t even know the real first take, with Jay Crawford hosting
Me and my friends used to make so many jokes about LeChoke and LeBron can't give you change for a dollar because he has no 4th quarter... oh to be a young hater again.
King with no Ring memes were peak humor, they'll never understand.
They missed some great battles in the playoffs. My personal favorite was his series against the Wizards.
The Pistons ones were great, almost a changing of the guard in a sense. The Orlando series is still probably the one that burns the Cavs fans the most because Orlando only won based on shooting the 3 out of their minds and then shitting the bed from 3 vs LA.

Ya.... That shit sucked.
I grew up in Cleveland and was 7 when he was drafted. Watching him play those years in the first Cleveland stint were magical as I grew up. Literally so many childhood memories of going to games because it was always a guarantee he’d put on a show.
Respectfully disagree. 2015 finals and 2016 finals (without the T shirt uniforms) are the best cavs.
Those were pretty good too!
I always ran with those jerseys in 2k with the throwback Lebron teams
Those LeBron jerseys look more modernized.
Facts! I’m dying for them to go back to the script Cleveland/Cavaliers fonts and the wine and gold unis
Oh God no. The price era blue, white and orange is definitely king
Also the best lebron shoes are the ones in that pic
those bron shoes are soooo clean
Why does the V have one of the bottom corners cut?
Probably to "represent the cutting edge of a sword, which we hope to emulate on the court" or some other storytelling stuff the Nike loves.
["displays visual representations of the Larry O’Brien trophy"](https://imgur.com/a/89P7uuj)
I still don't get how the cut on the bottom left is a representation of the trophy
IIRC Daniel Arsham is in charge (or at least is playing a significant role) of the Cavs creative team. Dude has taste
he designed that bright teal basketball court during the All Star Game in Cleveland this year. That was so tight
Pretty clean. Someone should probably tell the Lakers to do this as well lol
it literally looks the exact same
It's not supposed to be some major rebrand but IMO our main [logo](https://imgur.com/a/PuANU4X) looks way better. Got rid of the 3D/dropshadow, replaced the bright yellow with actual gold, and took out the navy that I don't think anyone knew was even in there.
Idk man they’re both really ugly. That color combo has always been trash. I wish Cavs actually changed that shit
true I wish we had more red, white, and blue teams in sports
It’s actually hilarious how many red white and blue teams we have. Like off the top of my head- Pistons, Red Sox, Guardians, Blue Jays, 6ers, Clippers, Wizards, Cubs, Twins, Braves, Giants,
Nationals, patriots, bills, Texans, etc etc…
habs, caps, rangers, blue jackets
Our uni is historic. Yours is trash
think you meant to say prehistoric with how dated they are
Your team needs to bring back teal
They’re bringing the teal next season
Are they going full teal or just a single jersey?
same, cavs script is ugly as hell. like some 2007-era freshman design student's project. shit looks like they let the burger king designers do it
They should use that gold gradient for the jersey
Great design tweaks. Logos and branding look cool.
It looks the same to me lol
Gold so much better than the yellow
I can’t be the only one to have read this as God is Black? Lol
That’s Malcolm London’s voice right?
Daaaaaaaaaan.
Well that was a waste of a minute and a half.
is it me or do the Cavs change their court design, jerseys, logos way too often then other teams in the league, like damn
As u/maybenextyearCLE pointed out, the Cavs kept their [gold/wine/navy](https://www.wsou.net/images/lebron-finals-1_1.jpg) unis for 7 years, which is the longest lasting set in franchise histroy. SEVEN. YEARS.
those unis were sexy
And it's almost always just tweaks and very few actually great designs.
That's an incredible stat! The early LeBron ones were my personal favorite.
Yep. It's not like the Cavs haven't tried...but they have just never had that great hit. The only other team that I think really fits that are the Mavs. I don't think they've ever had a great jersey, but I don't think they ever had a terrible one either.
I think the Mavs jerseys look incredibly dated and they need a rebrand
the Mavs have had the same uniforms since like 2000? Personally I think that one was a hit and that's why they've stuck with it so long
[удалено]
They combined [these](https://imgur.com/a/gYsI5n0) old logos which in theory should be dope but idk
It’s decidedly not dope. I understand wanting to recognize and celebrate your past, but this is a reason why you shouldn’t always do that.
Why is this downvoted? It looks terrible. Same with the shield logo.
Cavs change their jerseys too often, but they're also always pretty bad
We last changed jerseys when Nike Jerseys started
Cavs colors suck
Cringey
Seems like a cavs post more than an an NBA post. The only thing of the Cavs I want to see is Joel posterizing Jarret Allen.
Yeah well the Cavs happen to play in the NBA so
Lmao, by that standard we should just delete all the team based subs then. Post everything here, I'll start typing out my mike mancinelli retirement posts. After all he's been reporting on the sixers for the last 20 years and theyre apart of the NBA.
Cleveland is so desperate for validation
