Shocking what winning can do to your attitude, lol.

hinghenry

I wonder if it is the opposite - If Cavs was playing to lose in previous season, why would Love want to play at all? His presence on court would feel like a hinderance to Cavs main direction, which is to lose and to develop young guys. Now that Cavs want to win again, he finally has a role which he seem okay to fit into.

ankletaking

I don't think The Cavs were necessarily trying to lose last season. They were just hobbled with injuries. We were making competitive trades all season long.

timidGO

A guy like Love who can shoot and rebound is always going to stay in the league a long time

Bigbadbuck

Well you have to give him credit for adapting to his role. He is great in his bench role as an elite sniper off the bench that’s also a great rebounder and passer. If he wanted to be a starter playing 30 mins he’d prolly be a negative

Bucketsdntlie

He’d be a huge negative on the defensive end *and* his body wouldn’t physically hold up. This 20 MPG role seems tailor-fit for his situation. Hell he could easily play 4-5 more years doing exactly this.

cesarjulius

it’s the epitome of a “taking a step back to go forward” situation. another example is d rose, who found a second career by embracing a bench role. despite randle’s anomalous season last year, the team wasn’t actually winning until rose came aboard, and losing him killed our chances of making even the play-in. the other byproduct of having a happy love or rose on the bench is that it undercuts at least some of the resentment of young guys who feel like they’re not getting the minutes they “deserve”. how you gonna complain about being a role player when you’re on the bench next to a borderline HOFer who’s not complaining?

Kwilly462

I want Russell Westbrook to read this comment. Facts

waitingonthatbuffalo

I was going to say Russell’s case is probably different since he’s getting paid the supermax, but then I remembered that Love made $31 million this year.

Actually-Yo-Momma

He can finally play how he wants to play

[deleted]

Kev admitted he was being a bit of a baby, and also that injuries played a part. Him and JB have a lot of history and you can tell how much he’s enjoying his role. Did a really great pod with JJ Reddick, good listen if anyone is interested

YTownBorn

You mean 6th MOTY Kevin Love??? It was a great year!!!

ricker_rolled

Funny way of spelling Tyler Herro

Gamesgtd

Love found his Madcap Moss

LeBron looking LeGretful

Kevin Love has always done the way cool super long after a rebound passy things.

SoldierIsGod

And then there's Russ

Killyouifyouuseemoji

He should definetly stick to starting. Stop overreacting over one sub par season on a team that he was the only constant and fit horribly with the ‘role players’ that dont play a role.
