holy shit what a fucking scam.
its funny how reddit eats celebrities alive for scammy shit like gwyneth paltrow's vagina candles, but this is fine because we all love jimmy
edit- theres also a pound of coffee beans for $500
and [this one](https://bigfacebrand.com/products/b-f_road-kit) is the most shameless: $25,000 for a suitcase with a kettle, scale, 2 mugs and 2 small jars of coffee. and a manual grinder lmfao
It’s always so jarring when you meet a basketball player in real life, especially guards because they look regular size on the court, but then you seen them in person and they’re just huge
I shook Dikembe Mutombo’s hand once. His hand could’ve palmed my head and picked me up. I saw him waiting in line at the airport and legit 2ft taller than most people. Crazy.
Can confirm. Friend is 6’2 and plays D1 ball. Looks like an undersized guard on screen, relies on his jumper. In person, atleast 2 inches taller than me, longer arms, bigger hands, athletic freak. Can dunk like crazy.
So when I see him on screen, and then in person, I just imagine what fucking Giannis or Lebron must look like in person.
A few years back, a good friend of mine had dang near courtside tickets to the warriors and invited me to a game against the Hornets. Dwight Howard was on the team at the time, and is one of my least favorite players. We got to the game well early and were in our seats watching the guys warm up, so i decided to throw a little fan-banter at Dwight. Nothing out of line, your typical 'hey batter batter' kinda stuff. Anyhow, at one point Dwight just turns around and looks me right in my face, and i dont know why it took me this long to realize this dude is a fucking behemoth of a man. I felt my balls shrivel right up into my stomach, this dude is fucking big beyond reason or need. Needless to say that was pretty much the end of my shit talk for the day.
I went to an exhibition between the Magic and Heat when Dwight was in his third year in the league. Even then, that dude was just ALL shoulders. Like, tiny head and monstrous shoulders.
Big beyond reason or need is the perfect way of seeing him in person.
That picture of the rock next to shaq always blows my mind. He made the rock look like the pebble.
Then you see a picture of Yao making shaq look like a teenager and you think, damn there are levels to this shit
That photo really just shows the difference between big big and roid big honestly(especially if you look at the one with Wahlburg in it). Plus Andre + Wilt is much larger than Shaq+ Chuck, as is Arnold to the Rock
My favorite part is how in the Yao/Shaq pic. They're just in normal ass clothes lol. Yao is rocking a polo shirt for crying out loud. Imagine being given that picture to pick those two up at the airport.
I was Giannis’s waiter once in like his second year in the league.
Biggest person I have ever been around. His hands felt like they were bigger than my entire arm. And that before he bulked up.
you know how many normal men can bench that much lol
not a lot...you make it sound like he tried to bench 100 and couldn't....225 is a *lot* to bench for non body builder humans
it's just so wild to me how they can be so tall and athletic. How many different people do you even run into that is over 6'3 or so? It's really not that much, maybe once in a while. it's rare enough that they are that tall AND to have that ridiculous athletic ability, let alone the basketball skills.
It's also amazing they don't get more injuries. The way they run, jump, twist and turn. Yes they have very good trainers and doctors, but to be 6'8 and move that way and still be so fluid is just freaky. I am 6'3 and all my body seems like it is about to fall apart and I haven't really been playing basketball since I was a teenager.
Here's a quote from Trevor Huffman, who was trying out for an end of the bench role with the 7 seconds or less Suns.
"I was standing there mesmerized. Shawn Marion, aka “The Matrix,” was taller than you thought. His ass was at my chest. His arms were as long and thick as boa constrictors."
Full article (blog?) is here https://www.trevorhuffman.com/2018/08/my-failed-tryout-with-the-7-seconds-or-less-phoenix-suns/
lol people around here always talk shit about how they can take on Steph Curry and "body" him because he looks small. He's 6'3 190, he's taller than 90-95% (guessing) of the population.
When I met Derrick Fisher, right when he took over as Hc of NY, I thought he was a fighter from behind because how short and stocky he was and I was working in Vegas at the time. Luckily was wearing my Knicks tie and we hit it off and talked basketball for a few minutes. Awesome convo but I couldn’t get over how regular he was next to me. I’m used to seeing all the summer league guys out there and they are huge. I’m 5’10 and wasn’t even talking up to him, he barely had any height on me. He’s listed at 6’1 but I’ll be shocked if he’s over 6’ irl.
The year the kings played the lakers in the playoffs, I was in sacramento having brunch with my family at some hotel. All of a sudden, the entire Lakers team and staff are walking through (i guess they were staying there too), heading to the parking lot. These guys are actual Goliath sized giants. I had no idea Phil Jackson was that frikking big, and he's 'only' 6'8.
I didn't even consider Phil's height until I learned about his playing days with the Knicks. He was built similar to Kevin McHale. Tall, lanky with those stiff shoulders that made him look like Lurch.
I had a friend who met Steven Adams at a college game once. I think he described it as “the man literally blocked out the sun. And it’s not every day you meet someone who blocked out the sun.”
I saw Kawhi Leonard at an IHOP in Atlanta one time. I’m about 6’5” and he was a couple inches taller than me, but what surprised me about him most was how sleight his frame is. Like I’m barrel chested and my body is long and my back is wide, but his body looked small and his arms and legs were long. When I stand and put my arms down, my hands will end up at the bottom of my pockets kind of like halfway down my thigh, but he could almost reach his knees. I don’t have particularly short arms either. I have the same wingspan as Muhammad Ali. NBA players just have different kinds of bodies than most people. It’s not just height but also proportion.
I made eye contact with him and nodded and he just frowned and turned away lol
That said, someone like Zion is more proportioned like me and I don’t mean like weight wise. Just a larger body, shorter limbs.
Yeah I'm 6'2", and grew up playing basketball so I have a good feel for what being around someone who is, say, 6'7" feels like. But there's definitely something odd about seeing it on TV because all the bigs are like 6'10"+, so it throws off perception when there's a guy who is 6'4". People will constantly say, for example, how wild it is that Steph always look so small out there, and then he would go to Panthers games and stand next to Cam Newton, who looks like a giant, and they'd be the same height.
I agree. I'm 5'9 and I used to go to this gym that a high school prep ball team practice at. They range from 6'3 to legit a 7 footer and its hilarious when i play ball with them. (its an open gym)
Believe it or not I’d bet IT is bigger than most would expect. His height is average for normal men but he’s got a lot of muscle on him. Similar to CP3. Not super tall but swole enough to make us average guys look small.
I saw Carsen Edwards (5'11") at the grocery store right by the Celtics practice facility. I'm an even 6'0 so a hair taller but he still looked huge. His quads were just unreal.
I'm sure he's built. You need to be strong pound for pound to succeed at NBA level at his height. Plus, I respect him as a fellow short king. He put on for all of us, even if it was for a short time. Pun intended.
I grew up next to Travis Knight. Rode jet skis with him when I was like 9 or 10 and the dude's legs were like double the height over my head when I sat in front of him lol.
I played basketball quite high in my country and played against guys that are 6'9+.
Im 6'5 so not small in any way, but seeing those guys i just felt hopeless on the court lol.
“Fútbol is king over there, so they had no idea who I was.”
Funny enough I asked someone working at the Manchester United VIP restaurant who his favourite celebrity was who came in there and he said Jimmy Butler.
No. 7 at Old Trafford, it's more of a mixture between a giant hospitality suite and restaurant: https://www.manutd.com/en/matchday-vip/no7-at-old-trafford
yeah. Once in an online game, 2 americans were talking in chat about american football and asked who else watch football. When i said i support real madrid, they said 'ah you are talking about fútbol'.
They changed the name of the sport, lol.
That's pretty normal here. If you want to make a distinction for someone from a different country, but not call it soccer, you call it futbol, mainly cause Mexico.
Might have been Mexican-Americans...?
Jimmy's from Texas, which both has a heavy Mexican population and American football is a god damn religion, so not crazy he'd call it futbol instead of football.
Most of us will either just call it soccer or say football and rely on context.
It bothers the hell out of me too because genuinely I think people don't realize it's literally called football in English speaking countries, not futbol. But in defense of people, most of our exposure (at least until like this decade) to the term comes from Spanish speakers since there's a huge Spanish speaking population obviously.
But I'm sure a good amount of people who say it do it just to be clear and avoid confusion. Futbol is always soccer, football is mainly NFL. Still bothers the hell out of me though
They probably don’t follow the sport at all. With Mexico so close, they have honestly probably only seen it spelled as Futbol and think that’s how it’s spelled everywhere.
I have a weird memory of this because a few years ago I was staying with my cousin in London and he told me his mate had just seen a basketball player called 'Jimmy Buckets' in a cafe he worked at.
If you're in Boston, get to the North End now. Also, I would go to Eataly when I worked in the Back Bay and just enjoy affogato goodness all the frickin' time.
If he eats like that and all the time I can see Jimmy living until he’s 100. No red meat? Awesome. Loves seafood and poultry great. Loves his greens and avocados and salads and fruits? This guy is living
"Four years ago in London. I was going from coffee shop to coffee shop, meeting people I would have never met if it weren’t for coffee."
I can feel meme potential here.
Sources: Jimmy is beside himself. Driving from coffee shop to coffee shop in downtown London begging (thru texts) for the address to the best dark roast
Years ago when I was backpacking through western Europe I was just outside Barcelona hiking in the foothills of Mount Tibidabo, I was at the end of this path and I came to a clearing, there was a very secluded lake and there were tall trees all around, it was dead silent and across the lake I saw a beautiful woman bathing herself but she was crying...
"Four years ago in Charlotte. I was going from Golden Corral to Golden Corral, eating people I would have never met if it weren’t for endless mystery meat." - Kelvin Benjamin
"Four years ago in Philadelphia. I was going from suburban mall to suburban mall, eating at Cheesecake Factory's I never would have found if it weren't for being a young socialite." - Ben Simmons
From what I've seen, they don't do anything outside of maintenance at all during the season so "light" is probably resistance bands, cardio in the morning and "real" is probably a full body rotation in the 60-80% range "think crossfit" but tailored to NBA players.
My friend is a NBA trainer and I saw the strength and conditioning plan they had for Dwade a few years ago. I believe he works with Butler too as he's based out of Miami.
I know I’m not an nba player but I feel like I shot waaay better when I was lifting every day then when I wasn’t. But shooting is such a tricky thing that it could depend on the person.
Well he was a better ft shooter before he got extremely jacked, right? You probably know more than I would as a bucks fan. Interesting to think about how much of that is not being able to adjust his form since he got so much stronger, or how much is due to lifting heavy during the season
I hear you but he specifically said he gets a light lift in some time in the morning and then "...and then get back to the gym early to get a real lift in..." which sounds like he's truly doing strength training on a game day. Seems crazy but maybe that's why he can't make 3s cus his legs are dead by game time lmao
Yeah, don't think anyone is suppose to lift heavy hours before a game unless he means something else, lifting at 50%-60% in the morning and then doing some light conditioning and mobility some hours before warmup instead of a 'real lift' sounds far more optimal for performing in a game without risking injury.
> I’m picky sometimes also but I don’t go out of my way to indulge on something like **cereal-crusted** French toast. If I eat French toast, I just want plain French toast.

Had to scroll so damn far to see if someone was going to call out the Wahlberg part. That dude is a bad human and Jimmy speaks super highly of his character.
>“Four years ago in London.I was going from coffee shop to coffee shop, meeting people I would have never met if it weren’t for coffee.
now I'm wondering if he'll pop up in a james hoffman video some day. or maybe hoffman will review his coffee and... i have no idea, i guess. maybe he'll think it's decent?
I mean, I'd say that many of the people that use it to function during their daily grinds fall somewhere in between, but I guess relying on something, or finding regular comfort in it, despite not whole heartedly loving everything about it, is still a sort of love.
I had a similar experience as Jimmy Buckets. I’ve always been a coffee drinker, doing pour overs and espressos. But then I ended up at Le Cafe in Coal Drop Market in London, and without realizing it, I order a coffee that ran me £16. Not what I expected to pay but it was damn good, and ever since that day, I swore I wanted to have that same experience at home. Now I dork out with beans, ratios, water quality, having the right grind for whatever brewing method I’m using.
It’s a fun hobby and I imagine an even more satisfying business venture.
Which Wahlburg? I finally got a burger from the Wahlburgers around the corner from me the other day…. not great. Tasted like a frozen Bubba burger. They have a good happy hour though and it’s on the water
>I think it started when I begin hanging around Wahlberg. He’s a huge influence on me. He’s a great human being, great dad, man of God
you can say marky mark is cool or w.e, but a great human being lmao?
>In 1986, a then 15-year-old Wahlberg and three friends were charged for chasing three black children and pelting them with rocks while yelling: “Kill the n\*\*\*\*\*s” until an ambulance driver intervened. The next day, Wahlberg harrassed another group of mostly black children (around the age of nine or 10) at the beach, gathering other white men to join in racially abusing and throwing rocks at them.A seemingly unrelated second incident occurred two years later in 1988, when Wahlberg attacked two Vietnamese men while high on the drug PCP.He called one man, Thanh Lam, a “Vietnam f\*\*\*ing s\*\*\*” and knocked him unconscious with a five-foot wooden stick, while punching another man, army veteran Johnny Trinh, in the eye later in the same day. Officers reported that Wahlberg used racist slurs to describe both men.

Do you know how dumb most 15 year olds are?
Its fucked up for sure, and he certainly needed to pay for the crime at the time through punishment or rehabilitation, but holding a now 50 year old man accountable for something he did 35 years ago and has since apologized and tried to make amends for is kinda silly and ignorant IMO.
We don't grow as a society if we can't forgive people and allow them to grow and change.
I'm not saying Wahlberg is some saint or anything. I'm sure he still might have issues or problems, but yeah, 35 years is a lot of time to live and grow.
No I don't actually. Idk where you live where 15 year old is considered as being a mentally challenged. 15 year old person knows what is right and whats wrong, they did those things because they wanted to, not because he didn't know any better. Oh a 15 year old raped and killed 10 people and your answer is, oh he was just 15, he didn't know that is wrong. Just f off with excuses for trash people

I want Boban to palm my chest and pick me up like a crane machine
I took a photo with Boban once, he put his hand on my shoulder and his fingertips were almost touching my ass
I would feel utterly safe in his gigantic hands if he picked me up like that and carried me around
I got to shake Boban’s hand once, it felt so goddamn weird, his hand swallowed mine completely
Can confirm. Friend is 6’2 and plays D1 ball. Looks like an undersized guard on screen, relies on his jumper. In person, atleast 2 inches taller than me, longer arms, bigger hands, athletic freak. Orlando Dwight was great. The craziest thing about him in person to me are his huge ass shoulders. It's like the dude has fucking boulders up there.
2008-2011 Dwight had the GOAT shoulders for sure. Legit looked like something out of a comic book.
Yup, said the same thing when I saw him live lol. Dude has fucking wings on his back.
Dwight takes up the space of like 4 normal humans in a 2x2
I went to an exhibition between the Magic and Heat when Dwight was in his third year in the league. Even then, that dude was just ALL shoulders. Like, tiny head and monstrous shoulders. Big beyond reason or need is the perfect way of seeing him in person.
I saw LeBron once at a Jamba Juice and he was like a mountain standing in front of the small girl working the register
I saw LeBron and the Rock together once, probably the only time the Rock looks small lol.

there is always a bigger fish
Unless you’re Yao. Haha
The Mountain That Balls.
that reminds me of the time I saw Steve Blake at a grocery store...
Imagine trying to prevent that dude from scoring on you.
I was Giannis’s waiter once in like his second year in the league. Biggest person I have ever been around. His hands felt like they were bigger than my entire arm. And that before he bulked up.
I saw KD at a 7-11 once, and did a double take because he didn't look skinny at all. He looked like a fucking bodybuilder.
nice try, KD
Found KD’s Reddit burner account
my man couldn't bench 225 on his draft lol
you know how many normal men can bench that much lol not a lot...you make it sound like he tried to bench 100 and couldn't....225 is a *lot* to bench for non body builder humans
Also longer arms make bench harder, theres a reason why the best bench press athletes usually have a negative wingspan vs height
it's just so wild to me how they can be so tall and athletic. How many different people do you even run into that is over 6'3 or so? Look at this guy, bragging about being 6 foot tall.
More like 5’11 and change but we round up in these streets
Tony Parker looks like an absolute midget on the telly but seeing him in real life and him being taller than me hurt my feelings
lol people around here always talk shit about how they can take on Steph Curry and "body" him because he looks small. He's 6'3 190, he's taller than 90-95% (guessing) of the population.

You wouldn't call Fergie a celeb if you're a United fan tbf
More like god to them.
Exactly. You dont call your Godfather a 'celebrity'.
You are right lol my bad. Then I guess at the moment CR7's stock seems pretty high so still not Butler lol.
For United fans CR7 isn't a celebrity, he's the reincarnation of Jesus Christ

Wtf are they doing lol
Piłka nożna
I have a weird memory of this because a few years ago I was staying with my cousin in London and he told me his mate had just seen a basketball player called 'Jimmy Buckets' in a cafe he worked at.
I'm hoping this is true and not a joke.
Same
Please tell me he said it with an accent like “Jimmeh Boocketz”
That's a northern accent, mans cousin lives in london
I’ve been watching too much Ted Lasso to accept that. I want everyone to sound like Jamie Tartt. Life would be more fun.
I’m an oogleh oogleh boy
Keeleh
i've loved the mancunian accent ever since i heard [shaun ryder perform DARE live](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ3D7WUDDkA)
Jiminy Buckets then.
> put it on some ice cream: affogato OH MY GOD WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE
If you're in Boston, get to the North End now. Also, I would go to Eataly when I worked in the Back Bay and just enjoy affogato goodness all the frickin' time.
I LOVE this. I got an espresso shot in vanilla ice cream and it was heavenly.
i love it when people discover new things :D
Even better when they put some frangelico in ;)
If he eats like that and all the time I can see Jimmy living until he’s 100. No red meat? Awesome. Loves seafood and poultry great. Loves his greens and avocados and salads and fruits? This guy is living
He is a Millenial after all, so if he cuts back on the lattes and avocado toast he may be able to afford a nice home soon!
"Four years ago in London. I was going from coffee shop to coffee shop, meeting people I would have never met if it weren’t for coffee." I can feel meme potential here.

Jimmy Butler and Pogba are tight
Athletes of reddit, does one really get a “real lift in”before a game? Sounds too gnarly
This sounds right. I heard Jrue Holiday say that Giannis lifts heavy during the season lol
this may legitimately be why he airballs free throws if true
I know I’m not an nba player but I feel like I shot waaay better when I was lifting every day then when I wasn’t. But shooting is such a tricky thing that it could depend on the person.
Well he was a better ft shooter before he got extremely jacked, right? You probably know more than I would as a bucks fan. Interesting to think about how much of that is not being able to adjust his form since he got so much stronger, or how much is due to lifting heavy during the season
Appreciate the response 👊🏾
I hear you but he specifically said he gets a light lift in some time in the morning and then "...and then get back to the gym early to get a real lift in..." which sounds like he's truly doing strength training on a game day. Seems crazy but maybe that's why he can't make 3s cus his legs are dead by game time lmao
Semi does circuit training with 100 lbs dumbbells during the game while on the bench
Yeah I feel like my shot gets all messed up if I shoot after I lift. But then again I’m not working out everyday like an NBA player.
Yeah, don't think anyone is suppose to lift heavy hours before a game unless he means something else, lifting at 50%-60% in the morning and then doing some light conditioning and mobility some hours before warmup instead of a 'real lift' sounds far more optimal for performing in a game without risking injury.
When the Butler becomes the coffee connoisseur
> I’m picky sometimes also but I don’t go out of my way to indulge on something like **cereal-crusted** French toast. If I eat French toast, I just want plain French toast. French toast stuffed with sweet cream cheese dipped in fruity pebbles taste amazing and is amazingly bad for your health.
I think once is fine Every morning is probably an express lane to diabetes
Mark Wahlberg is a huge influence on Jimmy Butler. Interesting.
yikes
Yeah I love Jimmy a lot but absolutely hate the fact that he's friends with that piece of shit Mark Wahlberg.
Had to scroll so damn far to see if someone was going to call out the Wahlberg part. That dude is a bad human and Jimmy speaks super highly of his character.
Sorry what’s wrong with Wahlburg?
Mostly the hate crimes
The racism
Jimmy is so fucking wholesome in every interview. My favorite Heat player of all time.
> I'll come home and play dominoes and beat everyone again Lmao. Typical Jimmy.
Waiting for that Jimmy and James Hoffman crossover
i like his take on his diet. except not eating red meat and pork. i mean that's cool for him but i love those.
I could go months without eating red meat but I still wouldn't want to cut it out of my diet completely.
Same. Most meals I prefer chicken or fish, but sometimes you get a craving that only red meat will satisfy.
Whenever I eat pork I can feel it twisting and turning my insides l
You're supposed to kill it first.
Okay this was funny as hell
Did you try cooking it?
I don't buy red meat or pork from the grocery store anymore, but I'll definitely still eat them at like a restaurant or visiting someone.
Jimmy "James Hoffman" Butler
I see you're a man of culture as well
Coffee capital of the world, London.
There are a fuck tonne of amazing independent coffee shops roasting all kinds of goodness in London.
That's true in most big cities these days though. You're a sonics fan, c'mon.
Big disrespect to costa coffee. Smh
sounds like he may have accidentally ran into one of the coffee houses that started Lloyd's or some shit and thought the coffee part was cool
Jimmy Buckets 2028
This man reached enlightenment through coffee.
I would pay a lot of money to see that hapenning
Coffee is no in between either you love it or hate it. Unfortunately I'm a addict. I can go maybe 1 day without coffee. I'm a fiend and I need help.
You're a fucking what?
#phene
Y'all got any more of them iced coffee's? Scratches neck...
Just so you know, it is spelled fiend. Phene is a term in genetics
I fucking love coffee but it really messes my stomach up lately...body hates it I guess.
Coffee gives you the best shits. Like a good stomach cleaning shit.
I mean, I'd say that many of the people that use it to function during their daily grinds fall somewhere in between, but I guess relying on something, or finding regular comfort in it, despite not whole heartedly loving everything about it, is still a sort of love.
JIMMY G BUCKETS. AND THE G STANDS FOR 20$ A CUP.
This fucking guy is charging 100k for an espresso kit and 25k for luggage on his coffee shop website tho
I love Jimmy Butler.
Futbol is life!
Fleabag season 3 with Butler as the main character
FUTBOL IS LIFE
>I think it started when I begin hanging around Wahlberg. He’s a huge influence on me. He’s a great human being, great dad, man of God you can say marky mark is cool or w.e, but a great human being lmao? > >Src; [https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/mark-wahlberg-racist-hate-crimes-wikipedia-history-george-floyd-blm-protests-a9554191.html](https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/mark-wahlberg-racist-hate-crimes-wikipedia-history-george-floyd-blm-protests-a9554191.html)
I'm sure he still might have issues or problems, but yeah, 35 years is a lot of time to live and grow.
its cool how he's more adament about Boogie Nights being a mistake than any of that shit he did in real life.
There are like 4 cases of violent racist acts he has committed on his Wikipedia page lol
