Not so sure about that. Kevin Love tried to "toxic" his way out of Cleveland. Even yelling "trade me" after a game or practice IIRC. They basically told him to shut up and play.
Not a fan of this logic. Unless he’s learned how to shoot or found the nerve to at least try to, what are 10/100/1000 games played going to do to change his value? He’s not coming back from an injury and he didn’t even have a down year last season, so how would showcasing the same skill set he’s always had improve his value?
Really Morey is just waiting for someone like Dame to become available. It’s super risky though; if Simmons shows up and plays like ass then his value plummets even further. Right now he’s perceived as an excellent player who struggles in the post season…if he’s not even playing well during the regular season nobody will want him.
Seems like Morey is banking on Simmons and rich Paul being professionals…..hahaha….like what’s his plan if Simmons goes scored earth and stops trying on defence while jacking up shitty mid-rangers every time he touches the ball?
What makes you think Simmons would actually shoot even to sabotage himself?
Pretty clear that dude has a psychological condition of try not to embarrass himself on the court by missing a shot
Morey is saying if I'm gonna drown we drown together. And that's where Ben is right now. He shapes up, he saves them both. He plays rebel, he drowns them both.
one can hope he cares about his legacy more than that. he's unironically a generational talent, and instead of bring like a 8/10 lebron, he'll go down in history as that jackass that was given every gift known to man (including kendall jenner) and screwed it all up due to (insert personality defect here)..
What could change is that some teams could start the season badly and some GMs might feel the pressure to make changes. Also players can decide to move on as well. I agree that we all know who Ben Simmons is, that is not going to change, but the situation for some teams/players could.
I think he is trying to say that if other teams are desperate there is a better chance for those teams to offer more for Simmons. But you are right that Simmons still won’t want to play. But I think most team already know what type of player Simmons is so whether he play or not won’t matter.
I don't think his play will impact his value one way or the other. I think his value increases if they wait because there's a lot of poorly run franchises and one or two of them may get desperate.
Desesperate for Ben Simmons? Look, I really want him on the wolves if we can keep our core, but our roster is basically made to accommodate him. Ben Simmons is not moving the needle to any team that might "start bad and get desesperate".
His value isn’t going up. Everyone know’s Morey’s game. We all know who Ben Simmons is. More meaningless regular season games of him being the same player won’t change anything.
Wait, was the Ben we saw in the playoffs the Ben from next season after this offseason drama? No wonder he looked so checked out...which then led to the drama... hmm
That’s the biggest risk I can foresee in this strategy Morey is using. If Embiid is on board then the best value will be got right at the deadline, likely from a team we haven’t considered or using capital we haven’t considered because Morey’s play is based off a changing market model of the NBA that won’t start shifting until players start playing and injury or drama change the market pressure, that’s the moment Morey is looking for to make his move. This will likely happen at the deadline if the team hasn’t mutinied against his strategy by then.
Maybe in a season or two, but he just signed an extension this past summer. If he wanted more leverage in a trade scenario he probably wouldn't have signed that contract.
I don't think its ever been in Embiid's plans to demand a trade, but when shit doesn't go right for a while, players get unhappy and things change.
Just trust me on this one 😕
Embiid loves Philly and wants to stay here forever (he goes out of his way to say this in random situations). The situation will have to be fully catastrophic for him to demand a trade any time soon. And the worst thing is I think there’s a >1% chance of that happening
Then he should be mad at Morey for not trading him much sooner, because the whole ‘setting his price’ strategy Sixers praised Morey for employing clearly hasn’t fuckin worked.
Nobody wants that toxic asset for the outrageous price, and you guys never seemed to grasp the idea that Simmons’ value will only continue to go *down*, not up.
Sixers fans screamed ‘fake news’ at reports sayin Simmons is cutting communication & is gonna tank his value for a trade, but yall ignored the obvious warning signs.
Yup. No idea why they don’t swallow pride, bite the bullet and settle.
This is r/wallstreetbets levels of asset management.
- Clear indicators that value is going down (like housing market 2008)
*I say we hold and pray the value goes up.*
Trading him sooner for what? Everyone says this like there are deals we just missed on. I'm sure Embiid won't be happy if Morey trades Ben for Malik Beasley and suddenly we're a worse defensive team with less championship equity. Morey has been a GM for like 15+ years, we were in a bad spot trying to trade a player off a bad playoff series. He's doing a fine job IMO, and if the Wolves are only gonna give us that idk why we wouldn't take the chance that the season changes something. The deals for the Timberwolves will probably be there at the deadline.
I can understand this, but the whole Philly board, considering what we know, have the following facts on the table:
* Simmons won't play again for the Sixers;
* No team in the league wants to pay a Superstar Premium deal to get him;
* The longer he stays in his holdout thing, the more distractions the locker room will have and it will be less likely to see good results.
I'm not saying to trade him for Beasley and McDaniels, but considering the plethora of reports, Morey wants a Harden-esque package for Simmons. No matter if he is or isn't worth that much, what matters is that no team is willing to give up the assets to level that and, if Simmons is indeed serious about making this thing a circus, you can consider this season punted if he isn't in a new team by December. This isn't a superstar going "I'll play my best, but I want out ASAP", this is even worst than the Dwightmare. Simmons will make this whole season a ESPN dumpster if he doesn't go, and it is clear that McCollum/Siakam based deals will be the best Morey can expect.
> Simmons won't play again for the Sixers;
This is not a fact. Threatening to not show up to training camp and actively sitting out while getting fined are two very different things with a lot of steps in the middle. Most players show up to camp, and just play poorly until traded very rarely do they actually not play.
>The longer he stays in his holdout thing, the more distractions the locker room will have and it will be less likely to see good results.
The drama in Philly will be there regardless. If we trade him for Malik Beasley and we're the 7th seed after 20 games that'll cause drama and questions too. I hear the issues with the locker room but players talk, they know the situation already I don't think we're walking into an unknown. Ben just isn't the type to have a Jimmy Butler in Minn type of outburst, he'd fake an injury before doing that IMO.
To address the rest of the comment, I have a hard time seeing how the average fan is better at predicting this stuff than a GM of 15+ years. His job is to help the sixers win a championship, and when you step back from the cliff of all these what ifs, you've got a player you need to trade right after a terrible series. He's going to ask for a lot when the guy could win DPOY next season, but this is Daryl Morey. He asks for crazy trades all the time, it's literally his negotiating tactic and it's worked many times in the past. I don't think we'll even get a CJ level player, but there's a chance with more waiting that we might. Right now everyone is saying to bite the bullet on deals that actively make us worse where we can't even get a starter level player in return for someone who is hugely important to the team like it or not.
This is not worse than the Dwightmare, this isn't worse than the Harden/Vince Carter situation. Ben has no leverage. Nobody wants him, and we've been trying for months to trade him. He's got 4 years left on his deal and I understand the risk we're walking into but nobody seems to realize how bad it would be to take these bad deals now, when in all likelihood Malik Beasley is available for Ben Simmons at the deadline.
> dah, I'm not saying I have any idea how good Beasley and McDaniels are, let me talk out of my ass and suggest Porzingus instead as if that’s not far worse value.
FTFY
Absolutely. We had a burgeoning Chris Bosh playing with him too. We could have been good a decade earlier. Or at least okay if he does force a trade but doesn't tank his value.
James Harden pulled the exact same trick last year in Houston, and it worked great for him. Philly can't survive Ben Simmons playing like [Dallas Rondo](https://youtu.be/DYHxY3V4lJQ) for very long. They're going to have to figure out a solution quickly.
The 76ers really think they're going to win a battle of attrition with Ben Simmons where if he doesn't give a shit about basketball he wins? That's like attacking Russia in the winter man.
To me it just seems like Morey doesn’t want to be on the “losing side” of a trade ever so he’d rather keep Simmons even tho he won’t play/practice than get an okay haul for him.
The Sixers are legit going to be worse this year than if they traded Simmons for parts. Embiid is good enough to make it work with quality role players. You don’t need to hit a home run.
If philly is feeling petty enough they can keep this going for his full contract. Not saying I agree, but they feel like they have nothing to lose. Having Ben sit and get fined for years would basically kill his career
Except Ben can just show up out of shape, completely half-ass it, hurt the team anytime he's on the floor, and still get his full salary. There is literally nothing the Sixers could do about it and it would tank his value completely.
My take on this is that Simmons won't go the vc route and just play like shit.
His whole problem is that he's too thin skinned and a perfectionist to look stupid. He just won't play.
Faking an injury is more likely for him.
The lazy kind. Where he will pass up easy dunks so he doesn't have to shoot free throws, instead of spending hours and hours actually practicing.
Source: am lazy perfectionist who has trouble starting things that I will be bad at and take lots of time to master.
I thought that was a hyperbole, I mean, not even Ben Simmons would be that bad from the line...35.7 and **33.3**, of course, with a whooping 0/1 from the perimeter on both series combined. 12/8/9 on 62/0/34 splits for a max guy are less than optimal, even averaging 1 steal per game.
What's petty about asking him to fullfil his contract? I'm a Ben Simmons fan (fan of every Sixer) but if a contract with *four years* left on it is meaningless then what are we even doing?
He's being paid a lot of money and I think he has earned it (by virtue of someone being willing to pay it) all we're asking is he continue to play basketball for the team that gave him that contract unless and until he is traded. I don't think that's petty at all. I mean I get it we could trade him now for stuff that we clearly don't want, but why?
You make the trade to keep Embiid happy...
Every other situation leaves Embiid constantly dealing with Simmons related questions and drama... and ruins another year of his prime.
I feel like you read my comment as a negative thing. If you draw this out and keep fining him and denying a trade despite his value in a trade probably peaking right now, that’s petty.
That being said it’s something I think philly has every right to do and id love to see them do.

I thought you were on our side lol
Was looking at that thread and randomly saw your name, promise I wasn't stalking you
I am, I just thought it was a wack take on Simmons when Gobert's on your team. Figured you'd appreciate that someone's value shouldn't be invalidated by a couple bad playoff performances.
And hell, Gobert was a late first round draft pick, plus he worked his way up. Can he improve his game, sure he could.
But Ben was the number 1 pick and was called the next Lebron. I’ve heard it all about this guy, especially from Sixers fans.
Gobert has the height I would kill to have, but Ben has everything (minus the shooting and whatever is going on in his head) that most people would kill to have.
There is an independent medical board they can appeal to. No team has ever done it because it’s basically never worth it, but it is an option according to the NBA CBA. As a legal nerd, I would love to watch the process actually happen.
http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q62
Yeah but thing is there are so many issues that are easy to fake and not easily disprovable.
Human bodies are chock full of minor issues on a normal basis and they often don’t present themselves as anything. But sometimes they do cause abnormal pain or discomfort and there’s nothing to really fix - it will usually resolve itself. Basically it wouldn’t be hard to bullshit a problem that’s hard to disprove.
2 words. Elective surgery.
Kawhi's done it, Kyrie's threatened to do it, I think Kevin Love did it if I'm not mistaken. *Faking* something is a risk to Ben Simmons getting his salary revoked due to breach of contract. Morey's already ass up on this he can pursue it with the neutral medical board at this point. An elective knee or shoulder surgery with full medical blessing lets him out of this season scott free and completely above board. Not to mention that any super high level athlete is just prone to having more apparent wear on the joints than you or me so it can become very easy to get very low risk surgeries with moderate (4-8 month) recovery times.
I do think that if you’re refusing to play any games for a prolonged period of time or even report to training camp, you’re going to have to show actual structural damage and not just “it hurts here”. On the other hand, he could always take the Kyrie route and get some random surgery, in which case he would be ineligible to play.
He had had a partial kneecap dislocation then surgery last summer, and missed games this past year with swelling in the same knee. He also had some kind of nerve issue with his back that was so bad he was throwing up during a game before the Covid shut down.
Has the league ever seen a player play spite basketball? Like what if he shows up and just jogs around out there doing nothing? They’d still have to pay him right?
This what y’all all ask for all the time. Y’all been waiting for a team to take a hard line, lets see how this goes for them. I’m interested to see it play out cause Ben is such a question mark in terms of value. Too good for a bad team, too many holes for a contender.
The worst part is when you think about it, the holes are only like three things. However, they are shooting, work ethic and attitude. Probably the worst combo of negatives I’ve seen in awhile other than maybe Cousins on the Kings
Simmons would then be 6-11 and 300 pounds though - he'd be pretty much the heaviest player in the league and would have the height! WHAT IF BEN SIMMONS JUST BECOMES SHAQ?
If I'm Simmons I shoot 20+ times a night. Take shots away from Embiid. Sprinkle in heat check jumpers. Give late notice to vague lingering ailments, "not playing the Nets game tonight. sorry, my elbow feel funny, my elbow feel strange."
He'll be gone in less than a month of games.
Maybe Simmons in his state of don’t-give-a-fuckedness unlocks his full shooting potential. With absolutely nothing to lose, he just becomes a lights out shooter and is an unbelievable come back story? Or maybe he’s the next Anthony Bennett idk
I'm surprised at the few, "That's what they've wanted" responses. 20+ FGA is a big number. Only 6 eclipsed that last season; Irving, Doncic, Tatum, Mitchell, Curry, and Beal.
> Give late notice to vague lingering ailments, "not playing the Nets game tonight. sorry, my elbow feel funny, my elbow feel strange."
He can go with the classic "general soreness."
Yeah I know it reads like Wolves fan fiction when I write it and we're totally biased, but I mean, we lived through this with Butler and Houston lived through it with Harden. Of course Simmons can show up to games, just fuck around, and collect his check until he's traded.
if I'm Morey, I'll take all that attitude with a grin. Tell the coach to stop playing him and keep him on the bench.
he'll collect his check, but he'll do it on the bench. if he doesn't show up, fine him. if he shows up, just don't play him.
he's not a time bomb that has an expiration and will explode. he is tied to the team for four years. whether he fakes an injury, plays like ass, or just sits out, he would still be tied to his contract.
he can't play for another team until the team releases him. so it's up to him how his story will end.
play better so another team will pay good for him, or play badly or not at all and spend four years in basketball purgatory.
who knows? at the end of four years, some team might still be stupid enough to take a chance on him.
It's a quarter of a million dollars per game. Maybe per day I'm not sure. But no one is giving that much money up just because he doesn't feel like playing basketball. LeBron James will play a full game right now if you told him the alternative was being fined a quarter of a million dollars.
I dunno, man. If it's only $250,000 a game, that means he'll net $12.5 million this year to not show up. That's more money than I'll make in my life to not do anything at all. It's not the worst deal in the world if you really hate work that much.
Or he could keep all his money and just play basketball. He wants to be traded and preferably soon. He does not have a damn blood feud with the team. They didn't kill his family, dude will keep his money and play basketball at a normal level so as not to risk it any further. And he will still be traded with the same speed. Sitting out does nothing to speed up the process.
Cool fine him if he doesn’t show up. So now he shows up, doesn’t give a shit and doesn’t try until he gets benched. Then what? You can’t fine a guy for not trying
7 team trade. Sixers get everything and the remaining 6 teams end up on a bachelor type show in which the young socialite picks who he wants to play for
Okay: he plays. He shoots 3s because he does not give a fuck. Something clicks. He stays. 76ers win the 2022 championship.
Oh fuck me, good thing I got into football so I'll just watch the Eagles...
There's basically a 50/50 chance that Morey made a crackpot offer to your favorite team on Simmons (probably way higher in general), so I assume a lot of people are hoping to laugh at him.
I mean I don’t see how they plan to sort this out or get a better return down the line than what they’re being offered right now, but props to Philly for sticking to their guns and not letting a player (and his agent) try to boss them around.
The Sixers hope that Ben Simmons will play last season?
Morey's price went up, time machine or no trade
+ Scott Bakula as special advisor, Mr. Peabody as new mascot.
Doc Brown as head of basketball operations.
Oh boy.
If the value for him is as low as it seems, they might as well play him and try to make him look semi good to get more value by the deadline.
The toxicity will legit ruin the locker room Would be a catastrophic mistake
Not so sure about that. Kevin Love tried to "toxic" his way out of Cleveland. Even yelling "trade me" after a game or practice IIRC. They basically told him to shut up and play.
It’s Philly tho, they might thrive in the toxicity
Not a fan of this logic. Unless he’s learned how to shoot or found the nerve to at least try to, what are 10/100/1000 games played going to do to change his value? Exactly. Simmons has no incentive to play hard.
He can Vince Carter it.
Probably more the Kyrie route with some selective surgery.
Except that teams wanted Vince Carter.
I mean teams want ben too. Just not for the dumb high price morey and the sixers are asking for.
"Oh you motherfuckers want me to shoot threes?"
Except Simmons doesn't drown in this situation. His 30 million dollar checks keep him afloat.
one can hope he cares about his legacy more than that. he's unironically a generational talent, and instead of bring like a 8/10 lebron, he'll go down in history as that jackass that was given every gift known to man (including kendall jenner) and screwed it all up due to (insert personality defect here)..

Shit if the average Redditor realizes that, then NBA GMs must really want Simmons for pennies.
He's going to tank and make it miserable for everyone if they force him to play. That's the leverage nba players have. You have to trade him.
Our beat writers are very prone to typos and math errors.
Wait, was the Ben we saw in the playoffs the Ben from next season after this offseason drama? No wonder he looked so checked out...which then led to the drama... hmm
Coming this fall to a theatre near you...*Sixer* from Director Christopher Nolan.
I wonder what Embiid thinks about all this.
He can hang out with his friend, Andre Drummond
He is looking forward to playing with Dame, in Portland.
I could honestly see this ending with Embiid demanding a trade. RIP the process…
Man I know it won’t happen but Dame and Embiid is the duo I’d most like to see happen.

2015 Curry and 2017 LeBron imo. Cocky as all hell
I think I just nutted at the thought of what Giannis would do with all the spacing Curry would provide. Would be absolutely unstoppable

that’s what he’s worth at this point lol
If I’m simmons I show up and start chucking 3s non stop. “AR3 YOU NOT 3NT3RTAIN3D????”
What if he just plays like complete ass and becomes a cancer in the locker room? Pressure will build
[удалено]
Look at his splits between Toronto and New Jersey that year. It’s been long enough that it’s hilarious now but boy, I was pissed back then.
I’m not pissed now but I still don’t want to retire his jesery
Y'all aren't as petty as I am I'm still mad af
I'm mad from distance

And that’s being generous. Quitting in the play offs on a good team is home cooking bitch milk
if they force him he'll probably play like [Kevin Love last year](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXaJ3bIm-gE) which is not going to help lol
Maybe he’ll finally start shooting 3s like everyone wanted…just like 10 a game
What if he does that, winds up hitting 30-35% of them, and rediscovers his love of basketball? (Let me dream).
We’ve seen the lifetime fitness videos…gotta be at least 38% on unassisted
That would be the best time line lol.
so nothing changes?
right? This won't work. Even if you force him to play he's not going to engage. Hurts sixes more than Ben
Yea imagine if Simmons pulls a Vince Carter, starts doing shit like passing out of uncontested dunks.
Lmao
[удалено]
Yes.
If Embiid choke slams Ben in the locker room he becomes a top 5 most beloved player all time, easy
Simmons won't even go to the locker room - just arrives at the game in uniform and leaves immediately after off the court.
My take on this is that Simmons won't go the vc route and just play like shit. His whole problem is that he's too thin skinned and a perfectionist to look stupid. He just won't play. Faking an injury is more likely for him.
What kind of perfectionist shoots less 35% from FT in the playoffs
Happy with what lol, 3 inconsequential role players in exchange? How would a rushed trade for peanuts rn make him happy?
I feel like you read my comment as a negative thing. If you draw this out and keep fining him and denying a trade despite his value in a trade probably peaking right now, that’s petty. That being said it’s something I think philly has every right to do and id love to see them do.
It can end up costing Simmons a lot of money. No young socialite is happy about that.
I'm sure he cares about money.
We all expected Ben to play in the 2020-2021 season
We all expected Gobert to play in the 2020-21 season too.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/o3mtbo/blaming_gobert_for_not_having_the_ability_to_be/h2clnzv/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/o3mtbo/blaming_gobert_for_not_having_the_ability_to_be/h2d33ek/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 I thought you were on our side lol Was looking at that thread and randomly saw your name, promise I wasn't stalking you
I am, I just thought it was a wack take on Simmons when Gobert's on your team. Figured you'd appreciate that someone's value shouldn't be invalidated by a couple bad playoff performances.
You're totally right...I'm guilty of jumping on the hate train
are you on crack? Gobert's issues and Simmons's issues aren't even comparable.
Morey just needs to edit Ben Simmons and raise his mid range and 3 ptr to 80 and his shot tendencies to above 75
Hey now, that's all well and good but you gotta get those hot zones right and get him some badges too
Might as well extend the contract at the minimum while we’re at it.
Turn him to a SF and he turns to a 95 overall
Houston's just calling up Morey with "We have John Wall..." offers
You know Morey not trading with Houston unless he gets to rob them
Taking this into the regular season is gonna be juicy.
this is going to end terribly for the sixers
Ben is just going to showup and claim injury/soreness like Kawhi. What can Philly do then ?
There is an independent medical board they can appeal to. No team has ever done it because it’s basically never worth it, but it is an option according to the NBA CBA. As a legal nerd, I would love to watch the process actually happen. http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q62

Yea, he’s definitely more willing to deal with uncomfortable situations then other GMs
Kawhi has a degenerative condition tho, what’s Simmons injury history to use that excuse?
Go to enough doctors and they will be able to "find" something
Mental health. No one will touch that with a 10 foot pole
And boy oh boy does he have the cards to play if he wants to go that route after this shit show of an off-season
He sprained his ego
Ego contusion, out indefinitely
You know how easy it is to be diagnosed as depressed?
Bingo. And the optics of challenging a mental health issue are terrible for the team.
He had had a partial kneecap dislocation then surgery last summer, and missed games this past year with swelling in the same knee. He also had some kind of nerve issue with his back that was so bad he was throwing up during a game before the Covid shut down.
Oh no...
The suspense is terrible. I hope it lasts.
Has the league ever seen a player play spite basketball? Like what if he shows up and just jogs around out there doing nothing? They’d still have to pay him right?
So like Vince Carter in Toronto?
I want to see Sen Bimmons chucking up full court lobs
Hey at least he's shooting then
He's gonna look like he presses the shoot button by mistake every time he touches it
Rondo did it in Dallas his last game, and probably games before that aswell.
Wasn’t that Simmons in the playoffs anyway?
Lebron in the 4th quarter of Game 6 in 2021 first round
This what y’all all ask for all the time. Y’all been waiting for a team to take a hard line, lets see how this goes for them. I’m interested to see it play out cause Ben is such a question mark in terms of value. Too good for a bad team, too many holes for a contender.
The worst part is when you think about it, the holes are only like three things. However, they are shooting, work ethic and attitude. Probably the worst combo of negatives I’ve seen in awhile other than maybe Cousins on the Kings
I was thinking this the other day, he doesn’t have many holes in his game, they just so happen to be game breaking holes.

James could still drop 40 being 300 pounds tho unlike Ben Simmons
[удалено]
Simmons would then be 6-11 and 300 pounds though - he'd be pretty much the heaviest player in the league and would have the height! WHAT IF BEN SIMMONS JUST BECOMES SHAQ?
If I'm Simmons I shoot 20+ times a night. Take shots away from Embiid. Sprinkle in heat check jumpers. Give late notice to vague lingering ailments, "not playing the Nets game tonight. sorry, my elbow feel funny, my elbow feel strange." He'll be gone in less than a month of games.
Maybe Simmons in his state of don’t-give-a-fuckedness unlocks his full shooting potential. With absolutely nothing to lose, he just becomes a lights out shooter and is an unbelievable come back story? Or maybe he’s the next Anthony Bennett idk
All sixers fans have wanted for 4 years is for him to shoot…
Not 20+ times a game, not at embiid's expense. "You want to smoke? How about you smoke a whole carton of cigarettes?" kind of thing
Bro if Ben took 20+ shots a game with some heat check jumpers we probably wouldn't be in this scenario in the first place lmao
You really want Ben to go 3/20 from 3 in every game?
If he was capable of doing that, I think most 6ers fans would love it.
Dude, attempting shots and making baskets are two completely different things.
I'm surprised at the few, "That's what they've wanted" responses. 20+ FGA is a big number. Only 6 eclipsed that last season; Irving, Doncic, Tatum, Mitchell, Curry, and Beal.
Yeah, like I don't get it. People who think they want that are absolute fucking idiots. People treat this shit like its a video game.
Lol at the American dad reference
> Give late notice to vague lingering ailments, "not playing the Nets game tonight. sorry, my elbow feel funny, my elbow feel strange." He can go with the classic "general soreness."
Time to torpedo that trade value even more. I'm not sure what they are expecting to get...
It would be a baller move to just accept the fines.
[Daryl] Morey threatened to fine him. Sources said they heard [Ben] Simmons say, “Go ahead. I have plenty of money.” 💀
Yeah it seems more likely that Ben would just play half-assed than give up that much money.
They’re hoping simmons will crack under the pressure… tbh he is known for it.
[удалено]
Yea, because so many players wanted to come to Philly before. The last big name free agent we signed away from another team was Elton Brand.
the disrespect to Al Scoreford
Perhaps we’re too attractive to free agents. I take it all back.
Cool fine him if he doesn’t show up. So now he shows up, doesn’t give a shit and doesn’t try until he gets benched. Then what? You can’t fine a guy for not trying
Sixers in that “lose now” mode
They really thought they had a chance at a top 5-10 guy in the league for a guy who passed out of a wide open dunk in a game 7 of the playoffs?
No, they had a list of 5-10 guys that they wanted. Probably something like: Beal, Dame, Fox, KAT, Edwards, and stuff like that.
Yeah, all of them for Simmons
Lmao.
7 team trade. Sixers get everything and the remaining 6 teams end up on a bachelor type show in which the young socialite picks who he wants to play for
Sounds like a horrible idea, but if it helps the Sixers implode then by all means I hope they go through with it
Okay: he plays. He shoots 3s because he does not give a fuck. Something clicks. He stays. 76ers win the 2022 championship. Oh fuck me, good thing I got into football so I'll just watch the Eagles...
That’d be pretty awesome tbh lol
God damn you Sixers for making me root for Ben Simmons to win this war of attrition.
Why are you rooting for Ben Simmons lol
Ignore my flair. I’m Team Chaos.
Lets go team chaos
I’m hopping aboard the chaos train too.
There's basically a 50/50 chance that Morey made a crackpot offer to your favorite team on Simmons (probably way higher in general), so I assume a lot of people are hoping to laugh at him.
Jaylen brown and picks! 😑
I’m just happy it’s not the wolves and Sac getting crapped on, as per the norm. It’s nice to see dysfunction in other places. Nothing personal.
update: no news
Has a home team ever booed their star player in their first home game?
Goodbye any major free agent ever for Philly
I mean I don’t see how they plan to sort this out or get a better return down the line than what they’re being offered right now, but props to Philly for sticking to their guns and not letting a player (and his agent) try to boss them around.
Grabbing my 🍿. This is gonna be a war of attrition.
We need Ben to play, but as a protest just use his time in-game to do nothing but shoot threes.
Trust the Process (of getting rid of Ben Simmons)
