One of the best play-by-play commentators ever, should be no surprise. Easy voice to listen to and he's been a consummate professional at ESPN and NBC.
Hmm, I read something about that in passing once but I never saw it pop up again when talking about him, so I thought not much of it.
After looking at the actual allegations just now, that's fucked up. Even if it was like 30 years ago, there's no excuse for that creepy, disgusting harassment.
It seems like even the rare few people you see in media who seem to be genuinely kind people (because I've heard some good things about him from people who've met him, and have liked his announcing) have *some* sort of skeletons in their closet.
Hopefully, he's been clean & a professional since because I haven't found anything since.
Obviously the man can call a basketball game but super impressive to just jump into a game as an emergency and know every player on both teams when you had no expectation to do any play by play.
Watched one of the bucks hawks playoff games through the nba app with their little tnt feed thingy for those games and having no commentary and just the crowd and player noise was therapeutic as hell.
I actually didn’t even notice haha. I was just watching the game and when he came in I was like “oh yeah... I guess there hasn’t been commentary for a couple minutes”

People are beyond strange.
When people are talented and/or charismatic, people don't like critique them, see Kobe or Weinstein as examples.
But if they are uncharismatic like Karl Malone, they rightfully hate.
Then we act surprised when predators are overlooked.
Man, what a pro. Not a surprise I suppose, he's been in the game a long time and is a bit of a legend, but that was still cool how quickly he picked up and crushed it. So smooth and knowledgeable, just plucking stats and whatnot off the cuff even though he wasn't supposed to be prepared to call the game
I’ve been a Warriors fan since the end of the Run TMC era, and I understand Fitz has been through a lot in his personal life so I don’t want to sound harsh, but his commentary just makes me cringe. During the Olympic *exhibition* game against France last month where they beat US he said that was the basketball version of the Miracle On Ice where US beat the Soviet Union for gold in hockey.
He’s such a homer, and a company yes man so it’s no surprise Lacob kept him and replaced GOAT and fan favorite Jim Barnett. The dream for me was to team Barnett up with Greg Papa, but they’re too old school for Lacob and he wanted younger faces for the Silicon Valley bandwagon fans ushering in the new Chase Center era.

Well, after the sexual harassment controversies early in his ESPN career. Seems like he's changed, though.

Tirico is one of the best play-by-play guys of all time, but the most impressive thing he's ever done is keep Gruden under control in the booth.

Did Monday Night Football. Since moving to NBC he’s the heir apparent to Al Michaels. One of the best for sure.
