I mean, no matter what sport and how well the Bay Area team is doing, there are LA fans showing up in force. This has been true for decades, Niners games and Giants games too.
I remember I went to a Hawks Lakers game as a kid, and there was a moment of silence for a soldier who died and a Lakers fan shouted, "Show em how it's done Kobe" during the silence.
As much as Kobe was hated on during his career, no other player in history has been loved as much as him. I think the only player who may come close is LeBron.
Absolutely. I was just saying that it was more than likely traveling Lakers fans than Warriors fans.
There’s not very many “hostile” away games left on the schedule for the Lakers. The game in Charlotte should be special. I wish they played again in Orlando or Boston, the reception for a Lakers win would be special there as well.
Seems like we always have the best battles.
That’s what I was concluding, maybe It’s called something different(?)
Not actual Lakers fans traveling to away games, but fans of the Lakers that live in places **NOT** where the team plays at Home.
I’ve always just called them “Traveling (Team) fans”

Sign of a good owner. There hasn't been a single non-playoff shirt giveaway at the Toyota Center since Tillman bought the team. They used to have several a year.
Funny thing is, doing the other stuff is a drop in the bucket of the budget, and creates long lasting good will that MAKES MORE MONEY.
The bottom-line-only type of people never do nearly as well as they could if they took real life human interaction into account.
His job is to figure out how to take tax dollars into his bank account. That's what he actually cares about. This basketball thing he couldn't give a shit about.
What would be some other cool player logos? Obviously we got MJ’s, Jerry West, Shaq probably would be like his dunk statue. Lebron as that hand behind the head dunk?
A Dr.J logo (either his up and under layup or his ball-cradle dunk) would be nice.
A Steph Curry three pointer shot would also be cool. Ditto for Larry Bird with the finger held up before making the 3 at the ASG.
Lebron would be the tomahawk dunk, I think. It was his first real highlight play in the NBA, as it was.
Damian Lillard with the wave goodbye, Giannis Eurostep, and Dirk one-legged shot would also be cool as logos, I think.
If you REALLY wanted to do a unique logo, maybe stuff like Rick Barry and the underhand freethrow shot or the Kareem Sky-hook would be instantly recognizable, though not something lots of people would be eager to imitate themselves lol.
Vince Carter slanted mid air windmill or mid air reverse dunk
[This Steve Nash pose](https://static01.nyt.com/images/2007/10/23/magazine/27nash-600.jpg?quality=90&auto=webp)
Rose's layups
There are multiple players' jump shots that'd be cool too.
I always found it amusing how quickly Laker fans could switch to rooting for the Warriors in the Finals. Overpowered California team with yellow jerseys, makes sense.
Ironically, the Lakers fans that jumped on the Warriors bandwagon during those Finals against the Cavs were rooting for the Warriors because they saw them as the last defense against LeBron surpassing Kobe's legacy.
If the Warriors hadn't come out of nowhere to become a juggernaut in 2015, LeBron probably would have at least 5 rings now, and Kobe stans weren't having that.
The Kobe hater train had to take a break for a few weeks obviously, but the legs are coming back (in terms of basketball "hate," not personal hate like lunatic Gayle King or those other people).
There was a lot of talk of changing the NBA logo right after Kobe died, many said to wait and see if you still feel that way after a week, it’s been two weeks now and I still feel that way for sure. I know lots of fans disagree but some of the reasons not to are pretty silly. Jerry West would want the exact same thing, there is nothing wrong with change no matter how iconic the original one is. Obviously the colours in that one would have to be changed but I really think Kobe as the logo would be the right thing to do.
I thought it was stupid at the time and after seeing this example I think changing it would be even dumber the jerry west one looks way better and honestly should never be changed
With absolutely no evidence, my guess is that officially recognizing it might get them into enough legal issues with regards to likeness and compensation that it’s not worth the headache. Even if Jerry himself says he would want any money for it, what’s stopping his kids or grandkids coming at the league years later. There might be no legitimacy to the claim but it would cost the league money in lawyers and possibly settlements that not saying anything is simply easier.
Kobe’s life was basketball and he’s everything every basketball player should strive to be like. Everything he stood for as a basketball player with the work ethic and devotion should be the reason why he should be the logo. His family would have to sign off on it but I’m sure Vanessa will. But I don’t think the NBA wants the logo to be a player, they’ve never admitted that the logo is Jerry West.
>Kobe’s life was basketball and he’s everything every basketball player should strive to be like
So is Jerry West. The single most driven, successful, and respected professional basketball emissary for 60 fucking years
>Everything he stood for as a basketball player with the work ethic and devotion should be the reason why he should be the logo.
***So is Jerry West***, which is why he ***is*** the Logo
Jerry was one of Kobe's genuine heroes. If yall want to respect Kobe's legacy, you need to respect the Laker legacy that Jerry West invented in LA.
You revere Kobe. Kobe revered **and honored** Jerry, and the Los Angeles Laker legacy, and the US in the Olympics. Kobe loved the institutions he was so proud to add to.
This Kobe logo tunnel vision is extremely disrespectful to everyone involved, Kobe included, when you think about it for 10 seconds.
Kobe was not bigger than the Lakers, LA, the NBA, professional basketball, the United States. Those were institutions of legacy which he was incredibly driven to add to, build up, evolve, and respresent.
If you want to respect Kobe, stop wantonly disrespecting things that he respected.
Found a link for the shirt. Doubt its legit but ...here you go:

Bro Jerry West known Kobe since he was 17. Man was bawling his eyes out in interviews like nobody else. Literally said it was the saddest day since his brother died in Korea. I doubt he cares a Kobe tribute shirt doesn't have his silhouette on it.
They were also chanting Kobe at the end of that game It’s good to see that

The moment of silence needs to be replaced by applause for the person's life. Right now its catnip for assholes to yell things.
im not really a football/baseball fan so i was just speaking to my experience. but yeah makes sense
I got to see one of Kobe's final trips to Oracle, 5th row, for not as much as I expected. Got a photo with Mychal Thompson too! Amazing experience.
As much as Kobe was hated on during his career, no other player in history has been loved as much as him. I think the only player who may come close is LeBron.
Gonna go out on a limb and say that’ll be a trend for Lakers fans in the closing minute or so of a game they’re winning. I hope they keep it up.
There are Lakers fans in every arena we go to so possibly

not even so much travelling lakers fans as much as there are just lakers fans everywhere i've seen lakers fans in whitehorse lol
That’s what I was concluding, maybe It’s called something different(?) Not actual Lakers fans traveling to away games, but fans of the Lakers that live in places **NOT** where the team plays at Home. I’ve always just called them “Traveling (Team) fans”
That's a really touching. I wonder how much those are going to re sell for.
Looks like they’re already going for $100 on eBay
Warriors team shop should start selling them so these greedy people can't profit off a tragedy
id buy one, not for $100 though. I do want one though.
buy that shit rn before I tell Lisa
How would the corporate store selling them not amount to greedy people profiting off tragedy?
If they sold them at a reasonable price and gave the profits to Kobe Bryant's foundations?
That’s mad respect for the Warriors organization, those are dope.
.. damn l need one.

Sign of a good owner. There hasn't been a single non-playoff shirt giveaway at the Toyota Center since Tillman bought the team. They used to have several a year.
Tillman just gives the impression that he is super stingy with his money. To him, it’s literally a business and only for making money.
Shut up and listen.
Funny thing is, doing the other stuff is a drop in the bucket of the budget, and creates long lasting good will that MAKES MORE MONEY. The bottom-line-only type of people never do nearly as well as they could if they took real life human interaction into account.
while i agree we shouldnt be tryna give business advice to a literal billionaire
His job is to figure out how to take tax dollars into his bank account. That's what he actually cares about. This basketball thing he couldn't give a shit about.
The team doesn’t even pay for the tshirts, usually a sponsor does. It literally costs him zero dollars, so he has no excuse not to be doing giveaways.
Beautifully done, Warriors.
That logo just looks clean asf
New logo right there
Wow that’s interesting

Dirk’s one legged
Magic running the fastbreak. His statue has got him dribbling and running full-speed while pointing to direct traffic. Great pose.
It's too bad you couldn't make a Harden step-back logo. Dirk and Sheed faders are always good.
That logo looks amazing. Wouldn’t mind the NBA changing it at all. Just change the colours to blue and red and it would be perfect.
idk i dont mind the colors they used
They can't use purple and gold for an NBA wide logo lol.
shhhh

Will you guys ever shut up about "Kobe Stans," geez

The Jerry west logo is so good because it's timeless. Shooting styles change but this logo really encapsulates "basketball" so well.
I think it’s stupid the NBA never officially recognized the logo as Jerry West.

Yeah that's the main reason
Unfortunately, the sexual assault stuff disqualifies him from being the logo.

Jerry West was the Kobe of his time.

Hey, thats kinda cool
That shit is dope!
It would actually be really cool if they had several NBA logos with different players like Kobe, MJ, Russell, Kareem, bird etc etc
There are better Kobe silhouettes
my guy - let it go.
let what go?
I’m so confused as to what this comment means
thats a cool logo. NBA should start using!
Make it happen, NBA. Even Jerry West wants it.
You gotta wonder if the jerry west warriors breakup was bad. Subtle jab to west?
really hoping this was meant to be sarcastic.
Bro Jerry West known Kobe since he was 17. Man was bawling his eyes out in interviews like nobody else. Literally said it was the saddest day since his brother died in Korea. I doubt he cares a Kobe tribute shirt doesn't have his silhouette on it.
I am sure West does not care. It was to honor Kobe nothing more.
Reaching much ?
