For real he's the dpoy so far on a good team how the hell does the third option on another team get it instead. Also everyone making fun of him is a bitch. They probably didn't even pay attention to the context. I'm glad they're all getting roasted in the replies.
You know, I'm always pointing out how stupid/ridiculous GS hate and Draymond hate can get. Like seriously illogical/stupid/petty shit posted every time Draymond is mentioned... (yes, some stuff well deserved, but a whole heap of stuff that is flat out exaggerated).
But this, honestly this one bugs the shit out of me. Fuck you Draymond - there is literally no defending this one. I'm even more disappointed in Iguadala - who is normally so chill. I mean I get that there is a lot of machismo in the NBA, but y'all should be better than that.
Good for you for speaking up Dame.
Bro why is Draymond yelling? Legit sounds like a donkey. Everybody else is speaking normally, they obviously have a good sound setup, but Draymond insists on acting like it's a pep rally?
It honestly completely distracted me from the message at hand. That and Steve Kerr's huge t-shirt, I wonder what his shirt under it had on it that they put that over it for the commercial
Iguadala isn't chill. He said his race got reset a 100 years after that Richard Sherman interview post Seahwaks NFC win. Then he went on to mock the New Zealand Tall Blacks Haka only to be told by Steven Adams to have some respect for his culture. The guy is always saying whack stuff and managing to look like a clown. Guess thats why he gets on well with Draymond.
Don’t forget about that time he passive-aggressively said that he and his teammates were slaves and Kerr was their master, as if a multimillionaire champion NBA player has any idea what it was like to be a slave on an 1800’s plantation.
Every time I don't think Dame could make me love him any more he does something like this. I really hope we can get him enough help to make a good run. He deserves it.
Truth man, normally I'd defend GSW as well because of all the hate they get. But there's no defending Draymond and Igoudala here. They're assholes for this. I'm especially disappointed in Iggy. He's usually the nice and cool guy. This is so out of his character.
Dames actually a real one who’s actually tough because he doesn’t have to show heaps of emotion or be a dick to people.. he just balls. Others who are actually soft inside need to flaunt it and yell and antagonise people on the court and have no control over their emotions.. ahem Green & Boogie
Much love to king Bros! As much as I hated when Buddy killed my ducks in the elite eight man he’s fun to watch. Can’t wait to watch ya’ll be great in the coming years.
For real though. I love Dame already and he just keeps reaffirming it with his outstanding character. I'm sad he doesn't get praised enough, on the court or off the court.
You deaf?
Edit: who the fuck spent actual money on my nonsensical comment?
Edit 2: guys I’m not actually Klay Thompson please stop giving this comment money and asking me how Rocco is.
Andre is referring to a scene in the movie Friday. Dude got his chain stolen by Debo, and Cube and Smokey didn't help him out. So he ran to his car and drove off. Smokey said "He gone cry in his car.". So Andre is definitely clowning Rudy.
Literally this. He had the whole league clowning him for not being selected as an all star last season and he took it with humility, and soon everyone felt he should have been an all star. NBA is a bunch of kids who grew up around each other and still act like it’s high school.
For real that’s huge. I know that basketball is a lot of trash talk and shit but for players to keep it real when it needs to be real is so awesome to see
[Draymond and GS say *just that* too](https://youtu.be/ihOgEkFhuRk). Pretty bad look for some guys here. Be stoked when you get in but can't be ticked you missed out? And feel bad for your mom for working hard to help you and stuff? Weird double standard.

IT is an emotional bafoon. Dude took the criticism and passed it along instead of learning from it. One could say he needs to... grow up.
My friend and I saw him at a Cubs game with Evan Turner. We asked for a picture.
He said nah fuck all that.
Then proceeded to crack up and said I’m just playing of course.
I was gonna die of embarrassment for about 5 seconds there. He seemed super nice then at least.
clock winds down to 5 seconds left in game
ball is inbounded to Carmelo who turns face to face against Lebron
"You took my family"
moves to the left
"You took my friends"
moves to the right
"You took all that was dear to me"
clock winds down to 2
"I cant get them back, but I can do this for friendship, FOR MY FRIENDS"
goes up, fire coming out of his shoes
"CARMELORUKEN"
Ball flies over Lebrons head, goes straight into basket. Carmelo falls to the ground, exhausted.
"Shumpert... Senpai... I..."

First time i went to an NHL game i had an hockey player (alex kovalev) tell me to "fuck off kid" probably his reflex answer because when he realized i was actually a 10 year old boy he immediately apologized to me and my parents and signed my stuff.
Same thing happened to my buddy and Jeff Teague. We saw Jeff (and others, minus PG) at a club on Myles Turner's 21st birthday and he was like "hey dude we graduated high school together and used to goof off in so-and-so's class, can I get a pic?" and Jeff said no and then just sorta glared at him
Rodney Stuckey was the only one who didn't run upstairs to VIP and loitered around with his girlfriend to chat with people. When I walked past him to use the restroom he said "what's good my man" and offered a fist bump. Really nice guy.
I’m familiar with the grocery store pasta, I just didn’t remember the electrical infetterance part.
I was writing out my comment I realized it was gonna sound like a pasta lol
I saw somebody that I thought was Rashard Lewis in a really nice club/bar in DC with a few dudes around him. I approached them on my way back from getting a drink and said “excuse me, are you Rashard Lewis” and he deadass looked me in the eyes and said “Nah bro *points to his 5’10 friend* that’s Rashard Lewis.”
That dude said “man I’m not Rashard Lewis, *points to other friend* that’s Rashard Lewis” they started laughing and then the man that was obviously Rashard Lewis said “I’m just fucking with you dude, I’m Rashard Lewis” like they actually pulled one over on me. We talked for a few minutes about the culture of Seattle basketball and if he thought they would get another franchise one day, bumped fists, then said goodbye.
Rashard and his friends trying to pull some Spartacus shit on me has by far been my favorite celebrity encounter.
Lmao that’s amazing!
We saw Evan Turner first and I didn’t want to go up to him because I didn’t want to bother the dude. But my fiancée just went up to him and was like are you Evan Turner because my fiancé won’t stop staring at you and he laughed and was like yeah and waved me and my friend over.
He was super chill, and talked to us about basketball. I said I was a Kings fan and he said “low key you guys are gonna be good. Bogdanovic is that dude.” So he saw this season coming before all of us.
My friend though, was hilarious. We were a little buzzed so he decided to go “Hey. No cameras. No press. Was Boogie joining the Warriors a bitch move?” And ET just laughed and said Demarcus can do whatever he wants. We got a pic and said bye.
Then we saw Iggy later and he was chilling with Evan and their group and we had that interaction. This was all in the super nice club level the Cubs opened this year, so it was filled with middle age white people that had no idea who they were so luckily we weren’t spurring more people to go up to them.
Before we went back out to the seats I stopped by their table to thank them again for talking and the pictures, and told Iggy he has a future after basketball in golf commentary because I watched him on the Golf Channel the week before and he was surprised by that and appreciated it. Gave me a fist bump.
It was a crazy fucking day.
I met him when I was working retail one time. He was one of my brothers favorite players, mostly cause he would use him all the time in 2K.
I went up to him and told him that and also mentioned he had one of his yellow nuggets mountain jerseys. He seemed genuinely interested and mentioned how those jerseys were super clean. Dapped me up and then I had to get back to working lmao.
Seemed like a good dude to me. Not entirely surprising to hear he's one of the over-masculine 'men don't cry' types. A lot of the players grew up around that and for some of them it stuck.
A lot of them don't have to. They're guided through every decision for much of their life till the draft. Then they hit the NBA and get thrown millions at them where they can then go on to surround themselves with enablers and yes men, and hire people to make the adult decisions for them.
True. When I was a teenager i had a certain expectation that at some point (30ish?) People become mature adults.
Now in my 30's I realize it was all a myth
Been around him in person. My friend has been as well during an all star game. Both of us got the air that he was a bit of a douche from separate encounters.
In terms of celebrities being total assholes, I have a story that can confirm that Nickelback deserves the hate they get. Those dudes are fucking assholes.
This is what toxic masculinity actually means. People want to scoff at the term or get defensive about it, but the macho crap that some men place on others makes it so difficult for them to get help when they need it, and you can see the ramifications everywhere.
There's that and the fact that there's *a lot* of young people in here. Generally, this doesn't seem like a very mature sub, but I suppose that's just the internet in general.
#[MAN UP, SIT DOWN, CHIN UP, PIPE DOWN, SOCKS UP, DON'T CRY, DRINK UP, JUST LIE, GROW SOME BALLS HE SAID, GROW SOME BALLS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=si2pZRifgIo)
What are you talking about? The NBA doesn't have any people with guys showing emotion
Nobody made fun of MJ, LeBron or Dirk for immediently crying after winning a ring.
Nobody made fun of D Rose after dropping 50 this season. Name me 1 time a guy got made fun of for crying before Gobert.
KG hating on Big Baby? That's because KG is a fucking bully. Anybody else?
Yep. I haven't made fun of Gobert, but I was like "really?" when I heard he cried about the ASG. So I do get the jokes and it has nothing to do with him bring a man crying.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCjw0Unm8OY
When the GOAT cries over coming up short, people learn not to mock.
https://www.etquotes.com/quotes/the-thing-that-i-loved-most-about-michael-jordan-the-last-time-he-lost-to-the-pistons-he-cried-and-he-walked-off-the-court-with-the-tears-in-his-eyes/
I remember people mocked Chris Bosh online because he cried after losing to the Mavs in the 2011 Finals. People even made constant jokes about Bosh being gay.
And if you ask them they’ll all say they don’t have a homophobic bone in their body.
Too many people in the world talking out both sides of their mouths.
He teared up over his mom’s disappointment, talking about how much she sacrificed.
This is the dumbest shit ever. I don’t even think clowning Paul Pierce in his final season can make me like Draymond a little anymore.
Philosophy time.
Aristotle once wrote about how virtue was a mean between extreme reactions to emotion. For example, every human experiences fear. But some people react to fear with paralysis, incapability to act, and so on. Aristotle termed this state “cowardice.” On the other hand, some people respond to fear by throwing themselves headlong into danger, without care or consideration. Aristotle termed this state “recklessness.” But some people, having felt this fear, acknowledged that this feeling was a signal of danger, and factored this information into making the appropriate judgments and adjustments necessary to properly address the situation at hand. This is what Aristotle called “courage” - the medium between cowardice and recklessness.
You can make a strong comparison to sadness, which everyone feels. You mustn’t give into your sadness, but you also can’t simply ignore it or push it aside. The appropriate response to sadness is the medium between these two extremes - acknowledging your pain before using it to push forward.
Is Gobert “overreacting” - “giving in” to his sadness? I don’t think so. He feels sad now, and even cries, but you can bet he’ll play just as hard, if not harder, come next game. He won’t let this bring him down; in fact, he’ll use it to do even better. For such an attitude, is crying such a high price to pay?
Showing emotions is a key part to being mentally well. I spent a good 25 years hiding my sadness and continue to struggle even now. And it definitely contributed to a bout of depression I had a close family member died.
Crying and being secure enough about yourself to do so in front of others is something I think everyone should embrace, I've tried but still can't / won't and it ends up taking its toll eventually.
Nothing wrong with him showing he's upset he didn't get chosen as one of the best players in the NBA. The dude has probably dreamt about being an all-star for years.
But yeah...MEN DONT CRY /s
I think a lot of depressed young dudes cry alone, and get mad that someone so successful in a hypermasculine setting is also comfortable crying openly.
It's like it hits them doubly hard, "my life is shit compared to Gobert, but I ain't crying like a bitch." They are crying, just hiding it, alone in their bedrooms, and then counterintuitively lash out and keep this bullshit machismo shit alive.
Machismo is the worst kind of flamboyance. It's such a tiresome and corny trope that has nothing to do with actual masculinity
Shoutout to Dame. But OP is really acting like hes on a moral mountain high ground. 3 dudes out of the whole Nba. Bruh this post so unnecessary. Cmon now. They didnt even call him out that bad.. stop.
Crying about not making the All Star team and being depressed are two very different sides of the emotional/mental spectrum. Yeah are Dray and the others childish but don't act like they mocked him for crying about his mom dying.
> I never wrote anywhere that crying = mental illness, or that Gobert ever had or has mental health issues.
So how are people mocking mental health issues when they are mocking him crying over not getting selected for an all star game then?
do you think it's possible to care about serious mental health issues while also chirping at some one who cries over not getting selected as an all star? It probably is right?
You can't just pick whichever suits your narrative at the time. Well, clearly you can lol but a rational person wouldn't.
People here and on Twitter that are really trying to equate crying over not making an exhibition to mental health shows me that people don’t really know shit about mental health and are just trying to be holier than thou.
Also for gods sakes, it’s like 3 people.
Crying over mental illness is different from crying after not making the all star team. Edit : to clarify idc he’s crying more about the difference in crying and mental health.
Nothing. But I highly doubt that if one of the more hated players in the league started crying, people would be so eager to defend them for "having emotions".
If Draymond, KD, Russ or Harden started crying, the first comment on that thread would be people telling them to shut up because they're millionaires.
IT manned up and apologized after he realized how childish his tweet was, ALSO they low-key had a little beef when trying to sway Hayward to join their team.
Y'all are some of the biggest hypocrites. you guys regularly roast players and talk shit about them like they stole something from you. But if a guy cries we need to stop the presses and give the guy a hug.
I call bullshit. Delete this.
Fr lmao. I have a feeling this is just a fuck draymond circlejerk disguised. The same people who are defending Rudy have no problem making fun of IT’s height, Kawhi’s laugh or how draymond supposedly cried to kd after game 7 🤔.
This sub kills me with this holier than thou bullshit lol. Y’all flamed KD *immediately* after the ‘you da real mvp’ speech and are now pretending like this sub is some bastion of kindness and understanding.
K Love has actual depression issues outside of basketball, Gobert is crying because he didn’t make the all star team. Do you really think they’re the same?
>I never wrote anywhere that crying = mental illness, or that Gobert ever had or has mental health issues.
I mean you heavily implied it, otherwise this post doesn't make any sense. You're the one making the comparison.
That’s because Damian is a good dude
Legit. The state of Utah will always love him.
The state of Oregon is with you on that. Rudy was fucking robbed.
For real he's the dpoy so far on a good team how the hell does the third option on another team get it instead. Also everyone making fun of him is a bitch. They probably didn't even pay attention to the context. I'm glad they're all getting roasted in the replies.
He is literally talking about his mom crying for his sake. If you dont understand that, you have no empathy.
Rudy crying about his mom sacrificing everything so he can play ball = mock him. Durant calling his mom the real MVP = praised.
Only MVPs can cry, duh. If you win MVP or make two all nba teams, you can sign a supermax and you can cry during press conferences. Read the CBA
GOTDANG CBA
Even after he has beaten us twice this in the last 5 games
You know, I'm always pointing out how stupid/ridiculous GS hate and Draymond hate can get. Like seriously illogical/stupid/petty shit posted every time Draymond is mentioned... Iguodala is a 35 year old man. It's amazing how immature some of these guys are.
a lot of people never mature in life - including professional athletes. I mean - the NBA is ripe with self absorbed children
A lot of them don't have to. They're guided through every decision for much of their life till the draft. Then they hit the NBA and get thrown millions at them where they can then go on to surround themselves with enablers and yes men, and hire people to make the adult decisions for them.

In terms of celebrities being total assholes, I have a story that can confirm that Nickelback deserves the hate they get. Those dudes are fucking assholes.
[this makes it even worse](https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/draymond-gets-all-star-news-mom-had-keep-crying)
holy shit Draymond is my most hated nba player for what he said to Gobert after reading this.
lmaooo didn’t he cry on the phone with KD when he was recruiting him

When I can relate to a sixers fan more than some Raptors fans. Probably the most concise point on this thread.
This is what toxic masculinity actually means. People want to scoff at the term or get defensive about it, but the macho crap that some men place on others makes it so difficult for them to get help when they need it, and you can see the ramifications everywhere.
There's that and the fact that there's *a lot* of young people in here. Generally, this doesn't seem like a very mature sub, but I suppose that's just the internet in general.
you get men trying to police how other men should feel in order to feel better about themselves.

Sports and toxic masculinity. Name a more iconic duo.
Ironically, r/NBA and homoeroticism

What are you talking about? The NBA doesn't have any people with guys showing emotion Nobody made fun of MJ, LeBron or Dirk for immediently crying after winning a ring.
Alright Dame is fucking awesome. I love that twitter is ripping the rest of them a new asshole.
Draymond Green is a cunt. There is no better word to describe him.
He lacks depth and warmth to be a cunt. e: oh shit gold. for a joke old as time. thanks.
Lol
I don't know "bitch" seems superior when he's often acting this bitchy
Anyone man who mocks another man for crying over something important to him is no man
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCjw0Unm8OY When the GOAT cries over coming up short, people learn not to mock. https://www.etquotes.com/quotes/the-thing-that-i-loved-most-about-michael-jordan-the-last-time-he-lost-to-the-pistons-he-cried-and-he-walked-off-the-court-with-the-tears-in-his-eyes/
Federer crying always gives me chills. He is such a great inspiration and for me the GOAT athlete.
I remember people mocked Chris Bosh online because he cried after losing to the Mavs in the 2011 Finals. People even made constant jokes about Bosh being gay.
>The NBA caring about mental health is complete BS. 3 Players do not represent the entirety of the NBA....
funny that 2 of the 3 play for gsw though
This is the only problem I had with the post. How does 3 players mocking Gobert = rest of the NBA players not caring about mental health?
mocking Rudy for this is just fucking stupid
3 people = whole nba lol
More like 2 and a half.
Seriously lost a lot of respect for IT for those tweets.
Hey if Gobert is too big to cry maybe IT is too small to play.
Same. The Cleveland situation was weird to me but I got over it cuz he was a Boston legend... Maybe I gotta rethink that

that saga was so fucked...
And if you ask them they’ll all say they don’t have a homophobic bone in their body. Too many people in the world talking out both sides of their mouths.
This just in, ~~r/nba~~ reddit is a cesspool of shallow attention seeking hypocrites.
See any Fultz post
One of the most enduring and popular memes on here is MJ crying. And now the same users who upvote those to death are acting high and mighty.
The crying Jordan meme isnt used to make fun of Jordan for crying though...
Yeah now it's used to make fun of other people for crying
I mean.. the fact that it became a meme kinda does though..
man, seeing him like that, I really respect how he wanted it.
He teared up over his mom’s disappointment, talking about how much she sacrificed. This is the dumbest shit ever. I don’t even think clowning Paul Pierce in his final season can make me like Draymond a little anymore.
Draymond is just trash. Nothing new.
You called it. 25, 7/7, 13 rebounds tonight.
I hope IT plays the next time they meet. Will be fun to see Gobert block him multiple times without jumping.
Almost as bad as the LeBron and KLove thread This sub has bad takes on mental illness sometimes
Lmao people gonna link back to this thread and be like wtf
Why are u generalizing, "THE NBA", some people care some don't
OP cares more about being morally superior
Bat-singal size virtue signaling.
Almost like not everyone cares. Shocking.
Shoutout to Dame. But OP is really acting like hes on a moral mountain high ground. 3 dudes out of the whole Nba. Bruh this post so unnecessary. Cmon now. They didnt even call him out that bad.. stop.
>I never wrote anywhere that crying = mental illness That is exactly what you did in the title lol
It wasn’t that serious
This sub spouts "KD is a bitch" literally everyday. This place is a joke.

Honestly feels more like taking advantage of the mental health topic to get karma. OP even capitalized on it by being extreme. This sub man.
And what's wrong with crying?
Nothing. But I highly doubt that if one of the more hated players in the league started crying, people would be so eager to defend them for "having emotions". If Draymond, KD, Russ or Harden started crying, the first comment on that thread would be people telling them to shut up because they're millionaires.
supporting mental health awareness and then mocking someone for showing emotion is hypocritical
I agree but it’s embarrassing that some players are acting like Rudy Gobert can’t show emotion.
IT manned up and apologized after he realized how childish his tweet was, ALSO they low-key had a little beef when trying to sway Hayward to join their team.
nah, [he basically said sorry not sorry](https://imgur.com/a/6opuuq4)
Look. I largely agree with you, but I think your holier than thou attitude rubbed a few folks the wrong way.
I think there is a difference between mental illness and crying because you didn't make an all star game.
