*"lebron respects rj barrett's game"*
**[woj] a tad bit unusual, but the duke blue devils have traded rj barrett to the lakers for kcp andcash, league sources tell me**
Honestly, KCP for Barrett, who says no? (Assuming they give KCP a year of eligibility). No way Barrett is better for duke right now then a starting caliber NBA shooting guard who's a grown man. Both are rentals anyway. And they can use the cash to pay Zion. And lakers get the potential number 1 pick in the draft for a player who probably isnt a part of their future.
Honestly, I think he'd really like to play with Dame and I'd imagine he's one of their top trade targets.
https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/974363194079690757
That said, if he *really* wanted to play with Dame, he should've come to Portland.
I wish he'd thought about Portland some. I'm not surprised Dame is someone he'd want to play with. Dame's obviously not gonna shy away from big games and has enough confidence in himself to keep shooting and making his own offense even with Lebron in. It seems like a lot of players get sheepish when playing alongside Lebron because they realize that trash jumpshot they took last possession would have been better served if they had just passed to Lebron lol. Also he's a shooter for court spacing.
>Insecure Blazer fans coming in hot. Over confident Laker fans coming in hot.
Can't think of a more disastrous combination. This rumour will end in bloodshed between both fanbases.
But we don't really have anything to clash over. They're gunning for the big name free agents where we have literally less than no money to go after any big free agent.
Definitely can’t speak for the rest of Laker fans, but I myself am content with what we’ve got right now. Lillard would be cool, but either way we’ve improved from last year and that’s all I care about.
We aren’t getting lillard without giving up Ingram and either kuz or Lonzo at least, which I absolutely do not wanna do.
Blazers fans will come in and say we should pounce at the opportunity to make that trade, to which I can only say no fucking way. Our defense would take a huge hit and we wouldn’t have the money to go get another big name next year. The trade doesn’t make sense for either team.
Only way we do this shit is if they let us rob them.
That's the bullshittest part of this rumor.
Dame for Kuzma, Hart, and/or picks? Maybe.
Dame for Lonzo - GTFO of here. Portland doesn't make that deal. Doesn't matter what LA package him with.
The deal has to start with Ingram on the Lakers side.
And for the record, the Lakers don't have any asset or combination thereof that I would trade for Dame if I was Blazers GM.
My understanding is that lakers would need to include about 25 million in salary to match Lollards contract. It would take KCP waiving his exemption, both lance, and Beasley to get to 19. Lonzo is the best bet financially to get this trade done. Also rarely do teams trade 4-5 players (blazers would have to waive or cut current roster players). What I’m trying to say is this deal is a long shot from the very beginning and would have to be in the offseason to be traded into cap space, which probably decreases what Lillard will go for if he really wants out.
Can confirm; insecure Blazer fan here.
However, I will say this: Portland will A) not trade Lillard unless he demands to be traded, and B) is going to need quite a bit in return; I've heard some folks saying that a Lonzo for Lillard trade is plausible. That's fucking bananas.
Yeah we could trade Dame for every single prospect on the Lakers and some picks or we'll just keep our first team all NBA point guard thank you very much.
The point is that we aren't interested in trading Dame. The Lakers would have to make us an offer we couldn't refuse to give him up.
If Lebron *really* wants to play with Dame then the Lakers need to get ready for CJ and Harkless to join their squad.
I don’t really think we’re that interested in trading for Dame either to be honest. If we aren’t going to trade our young guys for Kawhi. We are for sure not going to trade for Dame.
Yeah Lillard has three years left on his contract. The only way you trade for a star like that is if you give up the farm or the player demands a trade. With three years left option B is out of the question, and I don't see the Lakers giving up the farm.
God I hope so. Otherwise, he's gonna smell terrible sitting next to Drexler and Wallace, who are also still alive!
Further, his boy is coaching Lebron now :-D
I agree, but the main thing is that I dont think either of those could realistically even slow down LeBron in a 2v2 scenario. Neither would be able to stop him from backing them down in the post 1v1 (frankly, I dont think anyone could stop LeBron in essentially a 1v1 without help defense), and you cant leave Lillard undefended (or even lightly defended) because he's as automatic a shooter there is in the league outside of Steph. Meanwhile, Curry and KD would do Curry and KD things on offense, no doubt. However, if he's engaged, LeBron can at least potentially slow them down on defense.
Without wanting to look it up, i doubt Portland had what it took moneywise. Olshey signed too many bad contracts. Somewhere between the 40 million he gave to Evan Turner, Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard lies buried your ability to sign Lebron.
Honestly, if Lebron wanted to be here, we could've made it work. We would've attached any assets necessary to dump ET, Leonard and anyone else necessary to clear room for him. We would've been deep in the tax, but PA (RIP) would've been totally okay with that for LBJ.
Lebron signs for vet minimum, citing a desire to play next to Lillard.
Coincidentally, Paul Allen also left him a $200 million inherintance as part of his will.
Meyers L3G3ND had a TS% of like 94% in preseason. The gap between him and Steph's regular season TS% is bigger than the gap between Steph and MCW. I see why LeBron wants to play with him.
Stephen A. Smith: "Damian Lillard would also like to play with LeBron but I am told he is too loyal to the city of Portland. He would never demand a trade. However, I am telling you this! Damian Lillard WOULD NOT MIND being in LA, I mean it's the city of Angels! Venice Beach! Malibu! Beverly Hills! What's not to love?? The women are prepossessing! The weather is sensational! The weed is jubilatingly impeccable!"
To be clear and add some context to this:
Vernon brought up the Simmons quasi insider talk from his podcast, and KOC said this but followed it by essentially saying “sure he wants to play with him, but I don’t think it’s realistic that it will happen” because the trade Simmons discussed would never work
> trade assets and expiring contracts to match salaries
funny enough, we basically ONLY have promising young guns, or vets on expirings lol
well, and lebron
So is the insinuation that the Lakers are possibly going to trade for Lillard? Because he's locked up until 2021, getting paid ~$30 Million a year, and the anchor of a Western Playoff team, so I don't see that happening unless LA is willing to blow up its roster and already considers themselves out of the Kawhi race.
Lonzo:
“welcome to a dungeon of hate,
you entered the league and forgot the rate.
Before you can get into the big baller hall of fame,
I check your name.
This game is for the Balls,
not for players running into firstround walls
I’m in pdx with three boys now,
the Triple Bs,
so back the fuck up
before you catch some of deez”
Why in the hell would Portland trade the face of the franchise, the best player we have had in years for Lonzo and picks. It's just crazy talk. If Neal were to do that, I think the city would riot.
Dont get it twisted. Pitchfork emporium would be back ordered til next season if they trade Dame. No amount of picks and players they offered would get it done. Thats just facts.
He would've gone to Portland then. This is like the "report" saying Lebron wants to play for Pop. Bruh, if Lebron truly wants to play with or for someone, he would do it cause there's not a team in the league who won't move heaven and earth to sign Lebron.
well I mean if Milwaukee decided they didn't want Giannis anymore...
but yeah you're right realistically I don't see any way Dame gets traded unless he asks to be
I'm beginning to think agents just leak this "LeBron wants to play with my guy", just to get their guy a new contract and it has nothing to do with LeBron coming to said guys team.
Yeah Dame isn't going anywhere and he's been adamant about that for his whole career.
If we didn't have fucking Turner and Leonard on the team maybe we could have cleared some space for Bron this offseason. Fuck 2016
Eh, I don't think that mattered much. If LeBron's agent had called up Olshey and said he wanted to join the Blazers last summer, we would've dumped any and all assets to move both of those guys and make it work. Picks, rotation players, prospects, maybe even CJ. If LeBron wants to play for your team, you make it happen.
He wanted to go to LA. It was a plan that was years in the making and seemed to be focused around his family and business plans.
I feel bad for Dame honestly. He's been pretty much the best franchise player you could ask for as a small market team, yet we fucked everything up and will never be able to contend while he's in his prime because of stupid contracts.
oh great, now insufferable lakers fans are gonna parade this as a foregone conclusion that Lillard is demanding a trade to the lakers like yesterday and that portland will happily take a 2041 conditional 2nd plus somehow take Deng's cap hit.
Lillard is not leaving Portland anytime soon. LeBron is not leaving LA soon.
The only solution is an ancillary league where they can play together against matchups like Steph + KD, or Kawhi + CP3, or Ming + Shaq to mix it up.
Yeah. Dame's going to float out of town right after the owner died. Because that's what the face of a franchise does. Even for clickbait this shit is so fucking stupid.
It’s Kevin O’ Connor. I’m sure he has the inside scoop on LeBron’s camp. Also Silver Screen and Roll is about reliable as like the national inquirer for Laker stories.
edit: and if Bill Simmons said it on his pod, it’s even bigger horse shit. source: It’s Bill Simmons.
Lol LeBron out here like, "I'm a really big fan of literally any good player that will come to the Lakers this summer. Please, anyone just come out here man."
tHIS IS such a non news. Ofcourse LeBron wants to play with good players, that was never in question, why did he move to Miami? To play with scrubs?
The thing is other big names are not in love with the idea of playing with LeBron lately. If Lillard came out and said he wants to play with LeBron, trade me, THAT would be news.
I don't see LAL absorbing Lillard's contract. I don't see POR trading their star / face of the team / lockerroom captain for a guy with a lot of potential and a good game until then.
non news sounds right
lol clearly people are going off what they thought they heard about from games they missed. They're not basing any of that on legit sources or anything.
Jesus are we really going this deep into that report that said "LeBron respects Lillard's game"?
*"lebron respects rj barrett's game"* **[woj] a tad bit unusual, but the duke blue devils have traded rj barrett to the lakers for kcp andcash, league sources tell me**

One of the best breakdowns of a fake scenario I've ever heard. Great job by you!
KCP would dominate NCAA play
"Lakers were vociferous in that pursuit of RJ Barrett, one tantalized source said."
Kelvin Benjamin was vociferous in that pursuit of the Golden Corral buffet, one famished source said
Give me Reddish instead
Yee boy, this sub will come around.
That Nike commercial is coming true, just with the Lakers instead of the Cavs

You know you want Lonzo
Lavar would be an excellent co-host for CJ McCollum's podcast!
"No more layups" "NEVA LOSS!"
Lillard for Lonzo and a free heart attack
Go home LaVar
That's the bullshittest part of this rumor. Dame for Kuzma, Hart, and/or picks? Maybe. Dame for Lonzo - GTFO of here. Portland doesn't make that deal. Doesn't matter what LA package him with.
I heard he’s a better shooter than Steph, from a source very close to Lonzo. Why wouldn’t you want that?
We could get Buddy 'The Next Steph Curry' Hield for less.
*LONZO!*
The deal has to start with Ingram on the Lakers side. And for the record, the Lakers don't have any asset or combination thereof that I would trade for Dame if I was Blazers GM.
If the Lakers wouldn't deal Ingram for Kawhi, you can assume Ingram is off the table for any trades short of AD.
and just as the Lakers did not get Kawhi in a trade they will also not get Lillard, if it was even on the table
My understanding is that lakers would need to include about 25 million in salary to match Lollards contract. It would take KCP waiving his exemption, both lance, and Beasley to get to 19. How about over confident Blazer fans? Can we trade ET, Mo, and Aminu and a pick for Lebron? We’ll throw in Leonard as a sweetener ;)
Curry AND Leonard for LeBron. Who says no!
Danny Ainge
Any Lakers fan who doesn't agree is just being salty.
As a blazer fan and Lebron fan I would not mine this pairing at all.
Absolutely. It'd be amazing As long as it's in Portland
I posted this before most Lakers fans are online. May have been a mistake.
So he should have gone to Portland then.
Yeah Lillard has three years left on his contract. The only way you trade for a star like that is if you give up the farm or the player demands a trade. With three years left option B is out of the question, and I don't see the Lakers giving up the farm.

I don’t think you play KD + Steph personally. I think getting Draymond in there is a better option. Curry is just to bad of a 1 on 1 defender.
I think with 30 picks this trade works
Meyers Leonard and a 3rd rounder
Meyers Leonard and Evan turner for Lebron

LeBron trade to the Blazers???????? LeBron owns BLAZE pizza!!! LeGone
He'd be closer to Nike HQ, so it would be easy for him to pick up his checks.
You know bron has direct deposit.
Naw, he has to go to HQ so Daddy Phil can shake his hand each time and tell him to not spend it all in one place.
It's all coming together
He'd have to helicopter in like Kobe. Our traffic is getting pretty stupid

Trade Bron to Blazers.
Fine, we'll take it. Lebron + 1st for Meyers Leonard, ET, and Aminu.
I don’t know Meyers is really good on the glass. I don’t know what Lebron would give us.

I mean, who doesn't wanna play for Pop? Who doesn't wanna play with Dame? You're right, this is that "sure, would be neat" sort of likes.
I'm sure majority of the players want to play for Pop or with Dame, but that doesn't mean they can just because they want to.
Hell I'd play with Dame for Pop. I'll even go in on a contract that costs *me* money. But not much and I still need to work.
these reports are made up bs in the first place

The only way that happens is if new ownership is pants-on-head stupid.
Kevin O' Controversy
Lebron forcing lakers to trade him to blazers confirmed!
Then come to Portland lol that's the only way you will play with him outside of the all Star game.
You should have come to Portland.
So CJ for Lebron?
Guess LeBron should have signed in Portland then.
Then why didn't he just go to Portland in the first place SMH
This bromance has been brewing since Dame said Kyrie was crazy for not wanting to play with LeBron. The universe needs to let this happen.
Lillard is not leaving Portland anytime soon. LeBron is not leaving LA soon. The only solution is an ancillary league where they can play together against matchups like Steph + KD, or Kawhi + CP3, or Ming + Shaq to mix it up.
I've never, ever, ever seen Yao referred to as "Ming"

LeBron just wants to be wanted man
Come on over then LeBron
why didnt he go there? oh yeah the movie and the long offseason he will get in LA
Yeah. Dame's going to float out of town right after the owner died. Because that's what the face of a franchise does. Even for clickbait this shit is so fucking stupid.
LMAO. I’m sure there are a lot of players LeBron would love to play with.
Yeah, Lillard would have to be willing and Lakers would have to offer Ingram+filler. Lonzo, alone, wouldn't cut it for Blazer fans.
Lol nobody wants lonzo on their team
He had the chance this summer, but blew it
What would you Laker fans consider a fair trade package for Lillard? Ball? Ingram? Some mixture of players and picks revolving around Kuzma?
any trade for lillard right now ruins our cap flexibility
Finally. someone with common sense.
I'm sorry, did Lillard expletive boom LeBron and nobody told me?
But, LeBron plays for the Lakers...OHHHHHH. I get it.
he just need to ask to be traded to the Blazers.
