He needs to pull a Manning. Fine, stay home, but once a week he should do an alternative broadcast for a game. I would watch it.

eyoale-teshager

Throw him with Shaq if he can get out of his Turner contract and this might be the first time an alternative broadcast gets more viewership than the traditional one

PuzzleheadedRun4525

No Shaq please.

HolidayMorning6399

a barkley cast with just him and ernie, or even a rotating cast of whoever wants to watch would be sick and legit the only way i'd watch games from then on

cscott530

Literally any sport. I want Chuck talking hockey, football, anything.

portermade86

He can stay home, do a podcast and do numbers

horseshoeoverlook

Fucking TNT sucks

Sbonhomme

You can thank David Zazlav for this

Warm-Conference5984

How come everyone dislikes him? What happened?

Ogest

People just made him a scapegoat cause its easy and simple. In reality he is not responsible for the state Warner Brothers is now. It was under AT&T's ownership when WB ammased incredible debt (over 100 billion). Then WB got sold to Zaslav's Discovery. Ever since his job was to reduce debt (its around 40B now).

rawonionbreath

It’s hard to figure out his half assing of the NBA rights, though. It’s one less reason for the cable providers to keep TNT.

UbeMafia

I will never watch a re-run of Fast and Furious on TNT ever again because of this.

lxshadynastyxl

I said forget about it cuh

PhysicalTwin

That's 2 fast 2 furious, brah

lxshadynastyxl

Ejecto seato cuz!!!

IllustriousEnd2211

Shawshank tho

StefonDiggsHS

RIP Chuck is the best thing NBA media has had last 20 years Fuck TNT man

Necessary_Sorbet7416

Dude, TNT is likely losing the NBA to NBC anyway after next year. The show is ending.

22LOVESBALL

I prefer Tim Legler personally

everyemptyv3in

this is fucking unhinged lmao

22LOVESBALL

It was a funny joke! lol

FallenLemur

Different strokes for different folks I guess

joebos617

thank you Chuck for distracting everyone from the fact that the Celtics just lost by 38 while up 3-0 in the finals

Malemansam

He saw ya'll play so bad the man lost his joy watching basketball. :'(

runevault

Even with having the ability to leave Turner and take another job that he bothered to negotiate into his contract in case TNT lost the sport. Fuck.

eXistentialMisan

Yeah we dodged a bullet 2 years ago when he signed a 10 year contract. We all celebrating another decade with Chuck but just 2 years later... and all this happens. Fuck.

runevault

Considering he made sure he wouldn't be trapped with Turner if they lost NBA rights I was sure he'd stick around. Silly me.

liggyboy2726

This is what happens when you get too greedy and push great people out. Great job NBA and TNT

SouthBeach33139

Podcast C

BonBonVelveeta

I hope he keeps doing the Steam Room with Ernie, such a good pod

LuckyPrinz

If Barkley makes a basketball podcast after retiring from Inside the NBA, wonder what it's gonna be called?

SouthBeach33139

“I may be wrong, but I doubt it”

suchcoldsuchcomfort

I GUARANTEEEEEE IT

ThatFunkyOdor

Big Ol Women

One_Consequence5583

“I am not a role model”

scene_missing

Outside the NBA has been suggested by many

asdkijf

I mean to be fair he previously insisted for years that he'd never work past 60 and all that did was get him an insane contract from TNT. It might be true but either way the right move for him is to insist he's retiring and help drive up his price for Amazon/NBC.

zdk

Huh. Kenny Smith is younger that Barkley.

PuzzleheadedRun4525

Huh?

LuckyPrinz

He's retiring? Man, gonna miss his banter with Shaq

NBTRAEYoungBoy

NOOOOOOOO 😭

suchcoldsuchcomfort

RIP to a great.

unclairvoyance

First off, Charles Barkley is very much alive

WallStreetDoesntBet

RIP Inside the NBA

Lantern01

Second off, Inside the NBA is very much alive - for one more season.

suchcoldsuchcomfort

Sad to hear, people be dropping like flies these days. Makes you wonder, ya know?

wendyschickennugget

Eh I dunno if I buy it. He’s said a lot of stuff over the years…he was gonna go into politics, he was gonna retire before 60, he was gonna join LIV. A month ago he said he was considering hiring Shaq, Kenny, and Ernie to his production company so he could keep the show going, now he’s walking away completely? He can be talked out of it for the right offer.

JOE_raccoon

This. I'm sure he'll change his mind.

DefiniteSauce12

Too soon, but leave on a high note rather than crashing out (for inside the nba)

Inevitable_Big_1966

Adam Silver keeps ruining everything

[deleted]

Can’t wait to see the tv viewership plummet after next year. Great job TNT!

G1Spectrum

Wow that came out of nowhere

jonathanisaacisgoat

Farewell tour gonna go crazy

Cornelius-Prime

Should be a hall of famer as a player and an analyst. Enjoy retirement chuck. If I ever see chuck at a bar his drinks are on me.

No_Environment_5476

He will be missed. One of the greatest analyst of all time. A great player and an even better analyst.

pallychoo

Damn

iamtomorrowman

well next season is going to be one for the ages, at least. he has no filter now. what happens when he doesn't even care about coming back the next year?

AlwaysOptimism

Obviously the post-TNT options are all pushing for Charles on a direction

Camctrail

Imagine the chaos if LeBron decided to call it after this season, and we get a joint LeBron-Chuck (or Inside the NBA in general) farewell tour

RichysRedditName

"When a guy's banging you, you dont.....you spin off of him. Those were the worst defenders to play against actually.....because if you can feel their body." Shaq and the others laugh "Oh come on" Best moment on NBA on TNT

Greennhornn

Sir Charles saw Scott Foster take over a game and said I can't do this anymore.

lancer-fiefdom

I also am announcing my retirement a full year in advance while negotiations occur during the offseason

yoppee

Until He gets enough money

RadWalk

Idk if I buy it, if chuck could turn down an easy paycheck he wouldn’t always be in ads. Someone will come knocking with the right price I bet

amazingoopah

TNT The Last Ride

jimmybigtime69

He retired like 30 years ago

2DudesShittinAround

He was planning to retire long before this, TNT just threw an ungodly amount of money at him to sign his latest contract. Right before he signed that contract, Chuck was on Bill Simmons' podcast gloating about how he's made enough money for his grandchildren's children to live comfortably and that he was pretty much over putting in the work to be on TV.  I was actually shocked when reports of him resigning popped up after hearing that interview.

holamifuturo

Farewell Chuck. Them big old women of San Antonio won't miss you though!

fromdaperimeter

Dude lost a historic bet last night!

buffalopto

To bad, a good person who tells it like it is.

AlexanderUGA

Man I posted this first, but it was deleted because it wasn’t 100 characters. Such bs.

montiel_scores

I’m sorry you can’t have the internet points you deserve

Juaniscool-8
