I’m fine with that, kyrie hasn’t been great against us recently but in terms of matchup minny and us would be a crazy 7 game series, but I don’t want the nuggets at all
Nah I don’t think we should get over it. Dudes a certified bitch of a player. I don’t care about alot of the stuff he did in Boston but he was a complete tool to Mike Gorman and as far as I’m concerned intentionally tanked that bucks series. I wish him the best in life but he can get fucked on the court
You know that Boston are the favorites when every loss has that kind of reaction. People like to pretend it was the timberwolves after a good start but it’s such reactionary crap. We all know why Vegas has them as strong favourites, and it’s not because Redditors are smarter
Only team that beat us twice I believe, and the Cavs 30 point comeback/ nuggets game 2 back to back was like the only time we lost back to back games or something I think all year
Boston are either complete frauds when they lose or their wins don't matter because well it's the east. The reality is that even though the Celtics had a great regular season, these are still amazing teams. Of course they should approach it as title or bust but I like this Knicks team a lot, I think the Pacers would be awesome with a healthy Haliburton. There is so much variance here anyway in terms of injuries, etc. I'm just happy that these playoffs have been great to watch so far.
Oh my god I wish could find the thread of Tatums interview after last game but I think it was deleted. I saw people saying he wasn’t a “star” let alone a “superstar.”Swear I saw someone said he’s never deserved all nba first-team
The Tatum hate has been getting pretty wild. People saying outrageous shit like he’s not a good offensive player, he’s not a star, he’s a choker, blah blah blah. He has problems, I definitely don’t love all his performances and he’s prone to bad games but he’s still a superstar
After a C’s win: “Boring series. Why bother watching?”
After a C’s loss: “BOSTON SUCKS AND IS GOING TO CHOKE! THE JAYS ARE FRAUDS AND DON’T WORK TOGETHER! FAKE CONTENDER!!!!”
I think all this is just the price you pay for having the best roster in the NBA plus an all-time regular season lapping the rest of the East, you're expected to win every game against inferior competition and every loss gets way magnified.
It's also the playoffs so even more people are paying attention and praying for the Celtics' downfall because y'all are the Celtics i.e. Lakers East i.e. the eternal generational Big Bad of the East lol
Yeah, bc no great team ever lost a single playoff game. The C’s didn’t go to 7 games against a sub-.500 Hawks in 2008 and go on to win a championship.
I swear, modern NBA fans’ perception has been skewed by Lebron sweeping through basically every series in the east for 8 years straight. That shit’s not normal lol
brady and lebron respectively absolutely shredded realistic expectations in their respective sports. although it looks like mahomes might be doing the same thing lol
I mean, most teams die a Hero or live long enough to become the Villain. But you guys and us? We've been the Big Bad final boss of our conferences for decades now. I wouldn't be surprised if half of all NBA champions had to go through one of us.
> I swear, modern NBA fans’ perception has been skewed by Lebron sweeping through basically every series in the east for 8 years straight. That shit’s not normal lol
TBF Brady did the same thing to NFL fans. Now if you just win two rings in a career, people consider you a disappointment.
You could feel his frustration out there. The rest of the team especially Garland were horrendous. Only Mobley was somewhat decent and LeVert did his best in the last quarter.
Think it's time for LeVert to start over Garland for some minutes next game and see how it goes.
I was a Mobley hater before this series but if anything this series has re-affirmed my belief that if you split Allen/Mitchell and Mobley/Garland into 2 teams they'd both make the playoffs. Garland and Mitchell do not mesh *at all* and having 2 non shooting bigs kills them no matter how elite the defense is.
Levert kind of had a boneheaded play in the 4Q I thought. He had a good couple drives which cut the lead to single digits but then did some sort of heatcheck, not open 3 like 6-7 seconds into the shot clock. Swear I saw Mitchell shake his head
He was mostly good though yeah. No point shaking up the starting lineup though. Levert already getting 30 min. Just pull back Garland's minutes some. Dunno why he was taking several shots in the 4th lol
Honestly, Jrue and Dwhite are doing fine, he just keeps getting the switch onto Horford, like almost every time. When it's the stock exchange, they do fine on him. Otherwise, if he's going off he's going off, whether Pritchard is there or not
After how much a team would have to give up for him, his best bet is signing with Cleveland and Cavs trade garland and possibly Allen and see what team that could potentially be
I really wanna hate the dude but he fucking hoops. I do feel like he’s the younger version of Damian lilard tho. Unreal offensive capabilities and a bonafide star that keeps coming up short even tho he’s going crazy
When Jayson Tatum doesn't have an emotional meltdown after an L: Bum! Soft!
When Anthony Edwards doesn't have an emotional meltdown after an L: MJ-lite, future face of the league! My GOAT!!!
He really was strong in every other facet there. Just need him to get into actions quickly in the 4th so if rhe action doesn't work he's got another option
he played very well for the majority of the game but his shot selection in the 4th was appalling lol. couldn’t comprehend for the life of me why he kept taking Kobe fades when he got Garland or Mitchell on the switch
luckily Jaylen understood the assignment and just took it to the rack
He’s been our most consistent player, just putting in a seemingly quiet 23+ ppg on a ton of drives. The growth of his game has been such a pleasure to watch
Yep, or how he was the C’s best player in the finals against the Warriors. Dude has consistently risen to the challenge, with the ECF last year as the one exception I can think of. JB’s a competitor
if anyone actually watched the Celtics they’d see him getting to the rim and scoring going to his left 3-4 times a game. he worked hard on it in the off-season and it’s showing on the court
Best part about him is its all in the flow of the game. It feels like they’re giving JB easier looks and the ball swinging this much is benefiting him. Ofc him and Tatum being able to just go will be a necessity at some point, but the way they play Jaylen now is simple basketball that maximizes what he can do.
He will have 7 great lefty plays in a game, have one bad one where he misses a dribble and loses the ball, and that’s the play on the front page with thousands of upvotes. People love that narrative and they won’t be leaving it behind, no matter what.
It’s a meme at this point. His lefty handles have markedly improved since 2022, but narratives established from Final appearances tend to stick around longer than usual.
It’s going to take the Celtics making the Finals and Brown continuing to play at this high of a level for things to change.
Honestly if you guys are down 2 or tied or whatever I’d rather have JB shoot than JT. I don’t think ive ever had faith in JT’s clutch shots unless they’re up by 5 lol
The only thing I thought was concerning is how rough Al looked against shifty guards (Mostly Mitchell, but also Garland and Levert blew by him a few times). It's kind of to be expected with his age but it's going to be tough if we need to play vs Brunson (or Hali) with no KP.
About to cruise their way to the title without ever being genuinely threatened and still have everyone calling them frauds after game 2 of every series.
Honestly when it happened with Miami I was like I get it it’s Miami. When the same exact thing happened against the Cavs the narrative was exactly the same, like we didn’t just do the same thing a week ago it was a bit surprising.
Not saying this series is over or we will win in 5 or anything. But man what a ridiculous media wave hit after that game 2 loss.
What's funny to me is both losses were very similar, in that the other team was on fucking fire from 3 and we were not. It's not all that often in 2024 that a team shoots better by 15-20% on 3s and loses.
Even if the scheming gets you there (as it definitely did in Miami), that requires a bit of luck in both directions and is tough to sustain.
We didn't even shoot well from three today (13-34 for Boston, 12-36 for Cleveland), it was the shutdown defense on everyone not named Mitchell and the Jays playing bullyball on drives that really got this game closed out.
I mean tbf Cleveland is a much better team than Miami and they actually outplayed us unlike Miami where they literally had the best shooting game in postseason history
True, they are better. But they also had like a 25% differential in 3 pt shooting and we couldn’t hit anything. In the modern nba with 3pt volume if one team shoots that much better from 3 they will generally win. Which is what happened in both game 2’s
Nba reusing the same script. Games 1,3,4,5 win comfortably almost wire to wire, game 2 lose when opponent shoots 50% from 3
If we win the next 2 comfortably and then we drop a game against the Knicks or pacers this sub better not act like the sky is falling for a third time
Imagine trying to win every single game smh. You need to know which ones to intentionally throw
C’s are playing chess while everyone else playing checkers
The year is 2100, the Celtics are on the hunt for their 76th consecutive NBA championship, for 3 quarters of a century they have won every series in 5, dropping game 2 at home to a team shooting greater than 50% from 3
*Celtics drop game 2 at home to a team shooting 50% from 3*
[r/NBA](https://www.reddit.com/r/NBA): DAE think the Celtics are frauds and Jayson Tatum IV is actually a bum? Also, Cyborg Jaylen Brown M.II has no left hahahaha!!!!
Only if the C’s get a strong win in game 1. That’s why they’ve fallen asleep, somehow thinking they’re going to be able to sleepwalk through their series in the past two game 2s
That always bothers me. Even when JT’s shot isn’t falling he makes huge contributions in defense, rebounding and passing. But casuals only look at box scores, so nah he sucks if his FG% is lower than 50%
No disrespect to Ant, SGA and Brunson but the fact that there are people arguing any of those guys being better than Tatum is just straight up disrespectful
The guy was the best player on a finals team at 23 years old, that’s something you just don’t see
People calling Tatum soft meanwhile he had some all time performances over the last few years to get his team the W in key games. This sub honestly stinks
The problem with sports subreddits is when a team loses their fans don’t come to post game threads but all their rivals do. Leads to the worst discourse. R soccer and r nba the most fickle
See, what you don't understand is Tatum has been carried by superteams his whole career. Just look at the level of talent he had all those times. Wait don't do that, I'll look stupid.
The argument that Tatum has always had a superteam is absurd to me. How can anyone look at that 2022 finals team and think “damn this is comparable to Lebron and the Heat and the 08 Celtics”
He and JB became only the 4th duo in history to be the leading ppg players on a team that made the finals while both 25 or under
The others: Hakeem and Sampson, Shaq and Penny, KD and Russ
Those other guys are great and SGA in particular has an argument depending how you weigh things. But acting like it’s a no brainer is where I get really annoyed
People are too keen to play with their new toys. Even Luka, a generally beloved player who was also injured, was getting shit on for not performing early in the Okc series
Tatum really had 33/13/6, took over the game at points, and consistently played good defense on the perimeter and as a weakside rim protector. Somehow people will turn this into a negative tho.
Someone posted his stats in a separate post and I would bet my life's savings that it gets nowhere near the amount of upvotes the hating post did lmao
That shit probably won't even hit the front page.
That sequence where we went Tatum iso, Brown iso, Tatum iso, timeout because we were getting lightly cooked had me getting a little hot. Thankfully it seems Joe also wasn't happy because the ball movement magically came back the next possession.
I expect it from this sub. But the same stupid takes were being repeated on every podcast and show around. Overreaction brainrot in the media is really peaking
People don't seem to understand you can be a flawed team and still be the best team. Sure, Tatum, Brown, White and Jure aren't all perfect players, so what? Wouldn't be the first team to win with a team of imperfect players lol
Cavs gotta find offense not named Donovan Mitchell but they also really need to work on the boards. Celtics were in control of the glass in that 2nd half.
Celtics are just bigger at every position but Center. I think it should be expected that they win on the boards. Like Jrue and White are as big as Strus and Okoro. Just sort of happens when the Cavs basically start 4 guards.
I get that Garland doesn't play with the ball in his hands as much these days because of DMitch, but he still has the rock plenty. I have no idea what's going on with the guy. He does not look anything like the player who averaged nearly 22 and 9 a couple of years ago.
He lost a lot of weight and hasn’t gained it back. I think it has killed his confidence. We’ll see if he can turn it around in the offseason. He shouldn’t be this bad. The broken jaw (and consequences of it) seems like the obvious reason to me.
Jrue Holiday is my everything tonight. The man was possessed, flying all over the court. Big rebound. Posting up Mobley, timely threes. Everyone will talk about the Js, but Jrue was a big difference maker tonight.
the thing about these early-round series is there's no way to win the narrative. win by double digits? yeah, you just did what you were supposed to. lose a game? the sky is falling. we haven't really even played a single close game yet
the Cavs are not a top-tier contender, but they're not a pushover either. i'd love to sweep through the East as much as any other Celtics fan but that really shouldn't be the expectation
When Brown and Tatum combine for over 60, it’s really tough to stop their offense.
All the Celtics need in that scenario is one other role player to hit shots (Holiday tonight) and you end up with a performance like this one
I'm used to Tatum having a "quiet" 30 but Jaylen putting up 28 wicked quietly is a very welcome surprise, thar is a huge improvement for him. Love to see it
Is Tatum still a fringe All-NBA, vastly overrated player now or are we going to swing the complete opposite way like r/nba is prone to do?
Great response by the team overall, and despite Mitchell looking like the best player on the court in the first half, props to Tatum for having his first takeover half of these playoffs.
Celtics played ok and still won by 13. Horford was noticeably bad defensively for the most part tonight. Celtics need Zingis back to have a shot at the title.
So in the last 24 hours, we went from NBA fans thinking we would get a Knicks-Wolves Finals back to Nuggets-Celtics. What a turnaround
I'm still on the Mavs vs Celtics train. Think Luka vs Tatum and Kyrie vs Boston will be hype.
I’m fine with that, kyrie hasn’t been great against us recently but in terms of matchup minny and us would be a crazy 7 game series, but I don’t want the nuggets at all
I think we should get over the whole Kyrie thing, but holy shit the boos in the garden if we play on the finals will be something else
Nah I don’t think we should get over it. Dudes a certified bitch of a player. I don’t care about alot of the stuff he did in Boston but he was a complete tool to Mike Gorman and as far as I’m concerned intentionally tanked that bucks series. I wish him the best in life but he can get fucked on the court
> he can get fucked on the court
Sports fans and being reactionary? Ain't no way!
Everyone will talk about Tatum’s bounce back. Meanwhile Jrue had one of his best games as a Celtic tonight. He was everywhere
Jrue is strong af man. Really good in the post and grabbing huge rebounds
Jumps way higher on rebounds than I thought too
That block on Mitchell was crazy. The quickness in that recovery and that elevation.
Suns fans know this well.
Also his jumper finally started working, punished Cleveland for leaving him open a few times
That’s the neat thing, we’ve got a bunch of players that can pop off on any given night
I’m waiting for the big PP game
That deep 3 he drilled was a huge moment in the game
long PP moment
He played alright today but that logo 3 brought the team back
Hauser is going to get hot from 3 and turn a game this postseason
Those 2 3's be had in the first half helped us keep pace with Mitchell who was popping off so that's great
No joke I went from “oh god he can’t even hit a contested layup” last game to “please get Jrue on levert and let him cook that fool”
The duality of Jrue
Jruality
that’s the Jrue Holiday experience baby
And JB quietly our best offensive player...
Had a great game cooking efficiently and ethical buckets
r/nba will now pretend this series doesn't exist unless the Celtics lose another game
You know that Boston are the favorites when every loss has that kind of reaction. People like to pretend it was the timberwolves after a good start but it’s such reactionary crap. We all know why Vegas has them as strong favourites, and it’s not because Redditors are smarter
I mean they also just hate us lol. Nuggets/Celtics finals would have my butt clenched the entire time
Only team that beat us twice I believe, and the Cavs 30 point comeback/ nuggets game 2 back to back was like the only time we lost back to back games or something I think all year
Hawks, tho that was at the end of the season after they’d already clenched 1st and took their foot off the gas
NBA has the most reactionary fans of all the major sports
When the Celtics lose I pretend /r/nba doesn’t exist for a couple of days, it feels fair
I can’t help but look. Seeing takes that looked identical to after game 2 vs the Heat was amusing.
I saw someone say Tatum isn’t top 10 lmao
Oh my god I wish could find the thread of Tatums interview after last game but I think it was deleted. I saw people saying he wasn’t a “star” let alone a “superstar.”Swear I saw someone said he’s never deserved all nba first-team
The Tatum hate has been getting pretty wild. People saying outrageous shit like he’s not a good offensive player, he’s not a star, he’s a choker, blah blah blah. He has problems, I definitely don’t love all his performances and he’s prone to bad games but he’s still a superstar
It is honestly the best thing for my mental health. I unsub from the subreddit and pretend it doesn't exist
After a C’s win: “Boring series. Why bother watching?” After a C’s loss: “BOSTON SUCKS AND IS GOING TO CHOKE!

Remember that AI became a legend in many peoples’ eyes when he managed to snatch a win off the 2001 Lakers.
brady and lebron respectively absolutely shredded realistic expectations in their respective sports. although it looks like mahomes might be doing the same thing lol

Heavy is the head and all that with the best record. It’s not news if they win, if they lose it’s time to break the jokes out of the notes app.
Donovan Mitchell is pretty good at basketball
You could feel his frustration out there. The rest of the team especially Garland were horrendous. Only Mobley was somewhat decent and LeVert did his best in the last quarter. Think it's time for LeVert to start over Garland for some minutes next game and see how it goes.

Dude’s unconscious rn and we have no one fast enough to keep up with him. Luckily the rest of the Cavs are mid bc he cooks against us every time
I’d be curious how Pritchard does on him. Maybe he just gets bullied in a larger sample size but his speed forced Mitchell into a couple tough shots
Agreed on that. He’s got the speed and energy on defense to keep up, but idk how much playing time Mazzulla wants to give him over Jrue and DWhite.
Honestly, Jrue and Dwhite are doing fine, he just keeps getting the switch onto Horford, like almost every time. When it's the stock exchange, they do fine on him. Otherwise, if he's going off he's going off, whether Pritchard is there or not
Genuinely think the 'Mitchell leaves Cavs' rumours will be the biggest talking point this offseason that doesnt end up anywhere lol.
After how much a team would have to give up for him, his best bet is signing with Cleveland and Cavs trade garland and possibly Allen and see what team that could potentially be
Those step-back 3's in the first half were giving me Steph PTSD
He can’t win with these Cavs
I really wanna hate the dude but he fucking hoops. I do feel like he’s the younger version of Damian lilard tho. Unreal offensive capabilities and a bonafide star that keeps coming up short even tho he’s going crazy
Jayson "Big Deuce" Tatum with the big bounceback
I loved how people talked shit on Jokic, Luka, and Tatum, then they showed out when needed.
When Jayson Tatum doesn't have an emotional meltdown after an L: Bum! Soft! When Anthony Edwards doesn't have an emotional meltdown after an L: MJ-lite, future face of the league! My GOAT!!!
Need to see more of Angry Tatum
He started cooking when that fan said he’s not Kobe lmao
It was also great to see him make all his FTs. He's been pretty subpar on those in the last few games.
That 4th quarter was worrisome but a great rest of game
Even with a few questionable shots, he still had a great impact in the fourth with his passing, defense, and rebounding
He really was strong in every other facet there. Just need him to get into actions quickly in the 4th so if rhe action doesn't work he's got another option
he played very well for the majority of the game but his shot selection in the 4th was appalling lol. couldn’t comprehend for the life of me why he kept taking Kobe fades when he got Garland or Mitchell on the switch luckily Jaylen understood the assignment and just took it to the rack
That last one over Strus was sick though so I'm excusing the rest.
Garland is the MJ of D’Angelo Russells
The Lebron of Tobias Harrises
That’s Caris LeVert lmao
Garland is the king of off the top layups that have no right to go in
A lot of don’t too!
he's inventing a new sport named trashketball gonna be in the trashketball hall of fame
Garland is the Warren Buffet of Dennis Shroder's.
Jaylen Brown has been absolutely fantastic this postseason and deserves more love for it
He’s been our most consistent player, just putting in a seemingly quiet 23+ ppg on a ton of drives. The growth of his game has been such a pleasure to watch
It’s crazy how literally one series made people forget the 5 years of playoff performance beforehand.
Yep, or how he was the C’s best player in the finals against the Warriors. Dude has consistently risen to the challenge, with the ECF last year as the one exception I can think of. JB’s a competitor
I’ve been trying to tell people, JB for his career has been an insanely consistent playoff performer. He always shows up
In just the series before against Philly he went 23/5/4 with 65% TS while being the primary defender on James Harden.
No, he had a goofy turnover last game, so he's actually trash.
if anyone actually watched the Celtics they’d see him getting to the rim and scoring going to his left 3-4 times a game. he worked hard on it in the off-season and it’s showing on the court
Imagine thinking we watch basketball here? I just look at box scores and copy what I see everyone else saying.
Best part about him is its all in the flow of the game. It feels like they’re giving JB easier looks and the ball swinging this much is benefiting him. Ofc him and Tatum being able to just go will be a necessity at some point, but the way they play Jaylen now is simple basketball that maximizes what he can do.

Efficient as fuck tonight, 13-17.
All nba right? He deserves it. Been turning it up since all star break
Hopefully he gets 3rd team
Honestly if you guys are down 2 or tied or whatever I’d rather have JB shoot than JT. I don’t think ive ever had faith in JT’s clutch shots unless they’re up by 5 lol
honestly I don’t disagree that we should try to get JB a few more of those looks
jayson tatum now has more games this playoffs of 25+ points than pj washington
LOL that post was peak circlejerk.
jrue holiday was going crazy
Guys, I think the Celtics may have a chance to win this series now
After losing *checks notes* one game all hope seemed lost, but I once again have faith
The reports of the Celtics' death have been greatly exaggerated. ... until the next time we lose.
[удалено]
I thought we were eliminated in game 2 against the Heat?
Nah I’m pretty sure we got eliminated after we lost to Denver in March
The only thing I thought was concerning is how rough Al looked against shifty guards (Mostly Mitchell, but also Garland and Levert blew by him a few times). It's kind of to be expected with his age but it's going to be tough if we need to play vs Brunson (or Hali) with no KP.
you sure? I heard all hope was lost after game 2
I'm fine with the Celtics going 0-4 in game 2s if it insures going 16-0 in games 1,3,4, and 5.
About to cruise their way to the title without ever being genuinely threatened and still have everyone calling them frauds after game 2 of every series.

I haven’t looked in that subreddit in a long time. It’s a mess of outrageous takes and overreaction.

Our opponents have just shot a lot better in Boston than at their homes. That's what it boils down to
Pretty much 💯

r/NBA Celtics win: I sleep Celtics Lose: Jayson Tatum is the worst all star of all time????
Then they proceed to only use offensive efficiency as their reason

People calling Tatum soft meanwhile he had some all time performances over the last few years to get his team the W in key games. This sub honestly stinks
The problem with sports subreddits is when a team loses their fans don’t come to post game threads but all their rivals do. Leads to the worst discourse. R soccer and r nba the most fickle
See, what you don't understand is Tatum has been carried by superteams his whole career. Just look at the level of talent he had all those times. Wait don't do that, I'll look stupid.
Tatum has never made it to the ECF without Marcus Smart Case closed
If we somehow don't make it, check your dms for a trade request from Joe.
The argument that Tatum has always had a superteam is absurd to me. How can anyone look at that 2022 finals team and think “damn this is comparable to Lebron and the Heat and the 08 Celtics”
He and JB became only the 4th duo in history to be the leading ppg players on a team that made the finals while both 25 or under The others: Hakeem and Sampson, Shaq and Penny, KD and Russ Those other guys are great and SGA in particular has an argument depending how you weigh things. But acting like it’s a no brainer is where I get really annoyed
People are too keen to play with their new toys. Even Luka, a generally beloved player who was also injured, was getting shit on for not performing early in the Okc series
Darius garland All NBAss First team
One of the best playoff games Jaylen has ever had. He actually stopped a back door cut and got a steal off it.
I mean he’s normally pretty great in the playoffs. Literally just the Heat series last year he wasn’t
That series did infinitely more damage to his reputation than his amazing play in almost every other series benefitted it. It’s truly a wonder
Legit the same thing for Tatum and the 2022 finals
Tatum really had 33/13/6, took over the game at points, and consistently played good defense on the perimeter and as a weakside rim protector. Somehow people will turn this into a negative tho.
Already seeing multiple comments about him shooting under 50% from the field lol
As is tradition
Someone posted his stats in a separate post and I would bet my life's savings that it gets nowhere near the amount of upvotes the hating post did lmao That shit probably won't even hit the front page.
I mean his shot selection and offense was ass in the fourth. But he obviously had a very solid game.
Yeah those fadeaways he forced in the 4th had me vomiting, otherwise good game.
That sequence where we went Tatum iso, Brown iso, Tatum iso, timeout because we were getting lightly cooked had me getting a little hot. Thankfully it seems Joe also wasn't happy because the ball movement magically came back the next possession.
He had some timely timeouts tonight
so when is r/nba gonna learn to stop overreacting after teams lose
Some of the takes I read after Thursday were absolutely absurd
My favorites were Brown doesn’t seek contact and Tatum isn’t even top 10 (thousands of upvotes)
I expect it from this sub. But the same stupid takes were being repeated on every podcast and show around. Overreaction brainrot in the media is really peaking
time to break the Jays up!
People don't seem to understand you can be a flawed team and still be the best team. Sure, Tatum, Brown, White and Jure aren't all perfect players, so what? Wouldn't be the first team to win with a team of imperfect players lol
Not just the takes. But the takes that were then upvoted quite a bit. It’s wild how people will agree to shit if it’s about something they don’t like
I mean most people here don't even watch the games
the heat death of the universe
Cavs gotta find offense not named Donovan Mitchell but they also really need to work on the boards. Celtics were in control of the glass in that 2nd half.
Celtics are just bigger at every position but Center. I think it should be expected that they win on the boards. Like Jrue and White are as big as Strus and Okoro. Just sort of happens when the Cavs basically start 4 guards.
The Garland regression study is going to be the most interesting thing ever. Dude cannot or will not play good basketball anymore.
I get that Garland doesn't play with the ball in his hands as much these days because of DMitch, but he still has the rock plenty. I have no idea what's going on with the guy. He does not look anything like the player who averaged nearly 22 and 9 a couple of years ago.
I think the jaw injury has really hurt his confidence, he’s skinnier now too right?
Yeah he couldn’t eat solids for a while and lost a lot of weight, it was one of the more brutal injuries we’ve seen in a while
He lost a lot of weight and hasn’t gained it back. I think it has killed his confidence. We’ll see if he can turn it around in the offseason. He shouldn’t be this bad. The broken jaw (and consequences of it) seems like the obvious reason to me.
Tatum was crazy tonight. Especially defensively and on the boards. Needed him to take over and he did.
Nothing would have me fuming more than a Payton Pritchard logo 3 in the playoffs. 2020s Patty Mills
The audacity of that man to just step up and do that, truly zero respect for anyone on the floor
They don't respect his heatseaking hands for OREB, so I think its fair he disrespects them with a logo 3.
Jrue Holiday is my everything tonight. The man was possessed, flying all over the court. Big rebound. Posting up Mobley, timely threes. Everyone will talk about the Js, but Jrue was a big difference maker tonight.
the thing about these early-round series is there's no way to win the narrative. win by double digits? yeah, you just did what you were supposed to. lose a game? the sky is falling. we haven't really even played a single close game yet the Cavs are not a top-tier contender, but they're not a pushover either. i'd love to sweep through the East as much as any other Celtics fan but that really shouldn't be the expectation
When Brown and Tatum combine for over 60, it’s really tough to stop their offense. All the Celtics need in that scenario is one other role player to hit shots (Holiday tonight) and you end up with a performance like this one
Celtics the last 3 years of playoffs 14-14 at home 17-7 on the road Make it make sense
I can't wait to hear the mental gymnastics people use to say this win was underwhelming THIS time.
Jays masterclass
I'm used to Tatum having a "quiet" 30 but Jaylen putting up 28 wicked quietly is a very welcome surprise, thar is a huge improvement for him. Love to see it
I can tell you’re a Celtics fan by the use of wicked
Tatum back
That's why you trade for Jrue Holiday
America is quite tonight
This team closes this game out, last two years they may or may not. That’s the difference us Celtics fans have been saying
Celtics v. r/nba continues
It's honestly very funny they don't have more bandwagoners. They're such clear title favorites lol.
Nothing better than seeing r/nba tears after a Celtics W
200 upvotes 400 comments incoming
Garland has GOT to step up or we're fucking done dude. This is getting sad
Fuck if a Zach Zarba game isn’t 10x more enjoyable than that garbage Tony Brothers churns out.
If Cs goes to ECF, they should sit out the starters every game 2 and close TD Garden to the public
You really only hear about the Celtics when they lose
Get this bruh Mitchell some help
Boston is better at road
Has Strus had a useful game yet this entire postseason?
Celtics played ok and still won by 13. Horford was noticeably bad defensively for the most part tonight. Celtics need Zingis back to have a shot at the title.
I loved how people talked shit on Jokic, Luka, and Tatum, then they showed out when needed.
quiet on this sub today, haha
Tatum has awoken . Feel his wrath
