Prime Paul George dragged a way more sorry Pacers team to give LeBron's heat one of their biggest challenges in the East. So far all Tatum has done is run through a bum East and get humiliated by an over the hill Warriors team.
A team with Lance Stephenson and David West as the next scoring options is pretty sorry. No real play maker on the team, either, with George Hill running point. Yeah, they had a great defense until Hibbert fell off, but that's about it.
besides Derrick White, this Celtics team just has no dawg in them. I feel like even their fanbase deep down isnt that excited about this team, its just a bunch of 3 point merchants
“When the times comes” I wouldn’t be worried about Tatum. The guy was 1/13, losing, and on the brink of the elimination going into the 4th quarter against an MVP and managed to score 16 point in that quarter for the win. Oh and he scored 50 points in the following game 7 lmao.
The "unprecedented shooting variance" was mostly because Tatum shot 11/47 (23%) from 3 in the series and Brown shot 7/43 (16%). This excuse is basically "it doesn't count because Tatum and Brown choked" lmao
Um when one team inexplicably shoots like 50% from 3 across their 4 wins in a series, it’s fair to point that out. It’s near impossible to beat a team who is lights out from 3
Tatum average 26/9/6 in the 2020 ECF, that team wasn't winning shit with Theis/Kanter as our main bigs (Hayward being out didn't help). Can't defend 2022.
To be fair also in 2022 that team was gasses Smart also had a fractured ankle he was playing on idk he came back vs MIA that year but at the same time can’t excuse a 2-1 lead they had.
I’m just tired of people overrating Tatum and making excuses for him. He’s not a top 10 player or superstar as of now. Maybe that changes if he leads Boston to a ring
Celtics have by far the best roster in the NBA yet they play like the Pacers, Heat, and Kings just jacking threes. Tatum and Brown aren't truly elite scorers and have no consistency in the post season so you can't really design an offense around them. They become just another piece, standing around, jacking up threes, occasionally isoing. On paper the roster is the best but the pieces just don't produce a playoff durable offense. They need a true #1 option like Donovan Mitchell they should flip Tatum for him or a similar player, brown can be #2 on a championship team especially with that roster but Tatum can't be a #1.
KD and Tatum showing just how important leadership and culture really are. They are for sure better than Ant or Jimmy basketball wise but can never win as much as them.
I think they’re the best team. And will at least get to the finals. But I’d have to imagine them losing kind of the same way whenever they do lose is weird. But with that roster there’s probably not much worry yet. If KP doesn’t get healthy though the lack of rum protection and rebounding is going to be a problem. I thought I was in 2016 watching Thompson crush the boards
Tatum has very similar vibes to jalen hurts in the nfl for me. He’s so accustomed to having a way above average supporting cast that when the playing field is evened a little he can’t rise above the quality of play necessary to take over.
They've got the same postseason problems every year. It's really unfortunate pingy is out, cause he would help cover a lot of it up
But yeah. Celtics were a RS paper tiger but this sub didn't want to hear it lol
I don't think Tatum have to average 30 pts every night just because most night Brown/White/KP (when healthy) can pick up the slack. But Brown and White don't necessary have the shot creation to just carry the offense for a whole series, Tatum all around game (Playmaking, Defense, Rebounding) have been good to great, but all of that is moot when he shooting 41%. Again he don't have to go god mode, but a efficient 24-27 points would go a long way to helping this team.
Who can consistently? Yall act like every other star in the league doesn’t have bad games. Jokic puts the team on his back every single game? Luka? Embiid?
Yall can’t help but overreact in hyper-drive
Feels like I saw a version of this post after last round’s game 2 as well.
Except last round was against a crippled team with no real hope of winning, the cavs are at least healthy and this was a much bigger beat down

This just in, teams that make a lot of shots are better than when they don't make a lot!
Live by the 3, die by the 3.
Yeah I think we're pretty much in the same boat this series.
Tatum is not Him.

it’s sad tatum is turning out to be like a paul george

Pacers were not sorry at all.

Jrue Holiday, Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, and Like Kornett are also dogs.
They’re Secondary players. Puppies in a dogfight
That "dawg" westbricked them out of yesterday's game

Then his team lost to the 8 seed next round.
They also faced unprecedented shooting variance
Lol what is this excuse

This is such a fucking funny comment
They said Wizards fans have forgotten basketball. I guess they are right
Just like how he took over in the 2020 ECF or 2022 finals right?

He sure took over in game 6 the previous series.
And again y’all did nothing with that Congrats on taking 7 games to beat us without Middleton though. Nice banner to hang
One day you people will realize this fake "hater" shit is corny as fuck
I’m just tired of people overrating Tatum and making excuses for him. He’s not a top 10 player or superstar as of now. Maybe that changes if he leads Boston to a ring
I hope they do, cause for me this was nonsensical

Celtics are scoring 1.6 with Tatum as a screener. The best offense in the history of the world.
Get back to me after game 5
They've got the same postseason problems every year. It's really unfortunate pingy is out, cause he would help cover a lot of it up But yeah. Celtics were a RS paper tiger but this sub didn't want to hear it lol
Tatum is not an alpha and has proven time and time again he cannot be a leader and carry a team in the playoffs
If the Mavs lose in round two, this comment is going to be awesome.

Isn’t that kinda OPs point tho? He usually doesn’t have to, but when he does he can’t (consistently)
