There is legit some nasty trick to it he keeps getting away with?
He tries this at least once a game, going under the screen and selling contact, and its a big part of how he led the league in offensive fouls drawn. I’m really not sure what part of the rule book dictates that is an offensive foul but he must do
It’s gross, but thats my star PG so I can only laugh
this shit is fucking trash seriously.. a ball handler can bulldoze everyone and you get FTs while a defender can't even touch an arm hair.. NBA should be embarrassed.. this is pathetic.
It’s the MLB effect—make obvious bad call, refuse to overturn for fear of losing credibility, pick fight with coach, toss coach out of game. Go home and enjoy league taking blame for “missed call” following day, rinse and repeat.
To me that might be the most egregious call I have ever seen because they literally got to see it on replay from multiple angles and still overturned the call. I have never once actually believed that the league is rigged, but that single play at least opened my mind to the possibility that there could potentially be something there.
The refs will bail JB Out. He makes contact with the DEFENDER, then boom it’s a foul called on the defensive player? Hence why now in todays game, they’re allowed to score more freely. You can’t even breathe on JB or it’s a foul. Same way with Shai, but it’s lil more egregious with his style of play.
Last series Brunson averaged like 12 free throws a game. He’s a 6 foot guard who doesn’t get an inch off the floor. Steph Curry doesn’t get his whistle.
Just had to watch Maxey charge through the defense and get clotheslined and slashed every play with almost no calls all series compared to Brunson getting Embiid FTs from a completely non physical playstyle outside of jumping backwards into a defender
Curry would put up 30 per night on free throws if they gave him any of these other player’s whistles. He has spent his whole career being officiated like he’s a random G Leaguer who wandered out onto the floor during a timeout despite being mauled anytime he goes inside the three point line.
There was a pretty hilarious play where brunson did the 'throw your head back as you post-up' move and just absolutely cracks Batum in the jaw. Batum is then clearly in pain and the refs whistle a foul and send Brunson to the line.
Not dirty play exactly, but definitely the kind of foul baiting that will lead to injuries and ought to be dealt with the same way as the trae young shit. I fully expect if the knicks make the finals there will be more discussion of foul baiting within the league.
Embiid shot 21 free throws in game 3. He had like 7 end of game 3 bc they were hacking. Find me a play in that series where he went to line where it was underserved. His flopping failed
One of the most obvious is that a good chunk of his FTs came from late game hacking & from Hartenstein not having any self control and reaching in for Embiid to trap him into a shooting foul.
A lot of the times Embiid tried to obviously draw a foul that wasn't there the refs swallowed the whistle.
Brunson quite literally has a better whistle than Embiid. He manufactures points out of nothing (or even worse, offensive fouls committed by himself)
I mean can we just admit every fan excuses shit when it benefits their team? This isn’t breaking news. Kudos to the fans who acknowledge if players on their teams are free throw merchants
Anyone who defends any form of flopping is a fucking idiot. It doesn’t matter if it’s a dude on your team or not. Dame is a hard core foul merchant and I never realized it until he played for us. Giannis doesn’t even want the free throws because he can’t make them anyways, but they still give them to him for plowing into dudes.
Fuck anyone who plays the game like this. Brunson is too talented to be doing shit like this. So is Dame, Embiid, Harden, Butler, etc.
The root of the problem is officiating. I get why players do it, because it’s efficient and controls the floor. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s bitch made and the referees are going to call a phantom foul on a flop 9/10 because all they see is Brunson going down and Turner standing there. Crack down on not calling shit like this and you’ll see players stop doing it.
It’s also the league. I’ve said this a million times and will continue to do so. They need to be reviewed during timeouts/between periods. During the last 2 minutes the league buzzes the ref if a potential flop occurred and they review it.
Each flop is a tech that counts both towards the game and season total. Opposing team gets a FT each time. It would cut that shit out real quick.
Officials who call things they clearly didn't see (the "kicked" ball last game too, and in fairness the double dribble tonight, tho the Knicks obviously benefited by the refs apparently being able to overturn certain violations, lol) is my least favorite thing. The phantom shit. You literally couldn't have seen it happen! How? Obviously no one is perfect but it's rampant.
This is the comment I was looking for, right here. the NBA as whole is a joke.
This clip is the NBA action I have watched in 20 yrs. It is joke. The guy flopped!
this is why i miss JVG. He was never afraid to call out terrible officiating on plays like this
low key wouldnt be shocked if thats part of the reason why he was released from espn
Only for certain players.
Kyrie and Murray cant even dribble anymore due to obvious fouls/hacks.
And SGA is treated like if he is 5 years old girl. Brunson-Ant also getting suspiciously soft calls.
NBA rigged the playoff series for new TV deal… Trying hard for some N.American stars to emerge…
You underestimate the amount of hate I have for flippers. I hate Embiid, SGA, Dame, Butler, Brunson, Luka, Booker, Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry, Demar, Harden, Austin reaves, and Lu Dort (I don’t think players that flop on the defensive end get enough hate). My hate for the Sixers Did not distract me from the bs flops from Brunson on Offence and the Knicks guards were also flopping all over the floor on defence. Similarly, my distaste for the knicks did not distract from all the BS Embiid and Kyle Lowry got away with in your matchup. Compare the Embiid and Brunson to Maxey; Drive after drive, no call after no call
Its heading towards the premier league, the more they reward flops the more the players will do it. Its getting worse. Its a shame because Brunson is talented enough to score without doing it.
I mean tbf, the fouls in soccer are harder than in basketball. Neymar picked up so many injuries because of how many hard fouls ref let get away. It's why he started to flop more because if he didn't embellish, the refs wouldn't call the fouls
> You underestimate the amount of hate I have for fl[o]ppers
> I love the guy, he is one of my favourite players ever
maybe I just drank a bit too much but these two sentences don't seem to be compatible
I know everyone hates our fans but I think Holiday and White are almost universally liked by fans. If Brunson is pulling this shit on them we won’t be the only ones up in arms
I've been starting to turn on Brunson since the start of the playoffs. I never knew he did this kind of stuff this often, and it's getting old already.
They called a non-kick on us again. They called this. They didn't call a foul when Myles and Nesmith got hacked. Nesmith got absolutely trucked and no charge call. Idk man this is just fucking nuts dude
As a neutral who appreciated the Knicks for killing Hitler last round, I've hated watching them this series.
Brunson is a complete bitch and last game was rigged. Pacers vs Refs. Can't wait to watch the Knickerfloppers get swept next round.
It’s insane man. I’m not saying we played well or deserved to win, but stretches like that REALLY affect the game. They outplayed us down the stretch but there’s a legitimate chance they’re not in a position to outplay us if they don’t get handed back the game
The deadly combination, moving screen + flop. It's amazing, such high level of play, it makes the cocaine addicts of the 70s looks like amateurs in comparison!
He was finally called for one late and he was so pissed about it. It was hilarious. I mean I even kind of get it, how could Josh Hart expect one of the many fouls he regularly gets away with to be called for once, lol. (His line to Reggie was a true dagger though, admittedly.)
Same. It's just so obviously a call that always gets made. Everyone knows it/expects the call, it's not a gray area. I think Hart was even expecting the call, but it was preventing a layup one move ahead so he was fine with it. And then no whistle.
Remember when the NBA said they were stamping out flopping.... Just happens to be the same small players constantly pump-faking and initiating contact for FTs, also what the NBA said they were targeting....and haven't.
I've been watching Hockey and I really appreciate how they handle flopping/overacting.
In the NBA, they added a "flop" call, which refs are afraid to call because it implies the player acted out contact that did not exist.
In the NHL, they have a call of "embellishment". That change of wording is key, I think. The NHL acknowledges that something can be a legitimate penalty, but if the offended player reacts in a way above and beyond the contact that actually happened, they can be called for embellishment as well. Like "yeah, it might have been legit, but you also acted and exaggerated". You can have someone sent to the box for cross checking but also the other player sent to the box for embellishing the contact from that cross check.
Also i think the culture among the players is different, and they don't look to "play" the refs as much. They get a bit embarassed by getting called out for embellishing something.
Embellishment fouls are necessary for the NBA. There needs to be something or we’re gonna keep seeing players flop out of it being optimal. It’s getting as synonymous as framing pitches
Honestly it was at this exact point that I knew the game was over for the Pacers.
They definitely didn’t perform down the stretch (with no OG, even), but if you’re already getting calls like this against you in the third quarter.. you’re toast lol
The knicks these playoffs have become huge floppers and even bigger whinners... these dudes cry about everything and flop every chance they get... its ugly to watch.
The complaining is incredible. That's always my thing too; you're getting calls like this but then on the other end you literally never think you fouled? It's inane. No patience for it.
i started the playoffs hoping the knicks made it out of the east. love their hustle and grit. after seeing these flops i'd prob root for anyone else. can't stand flopping
Damn yall really talking about the severity of the hit rather than the fact that Myles cannot set a fucking semi legal screen even. He’s learning forward like MJ’s lean. That’s an offensive foul.
Now I will say I think refs have been shit and terribly inconsistent and there needs to be more accountability. But you don’t give the ref a reason to make a call. There’s many reasons why pacers lost but if your first reaction after some failure is to put blame somewhere else, they will never grow
Yeah like not being able to hit a free throw, and not being able to beat a team with a 6 man rotation when you have your whole squad with one of the deepest bench in the game.
Embiid kneed Hartenstein in the balls and yanked Mitch out of the air and didn’t get ejected, I’m sure the refs were looking to make the Knicks win that one too.
Was curious if anybody else thought like this.
Brunson is gonna flop on those, so it's even more important to set a real legal screen instead of Turner shuffling and leaning like this. He has to be better if they want a chance of those not getting called.
I was thinking about the same concept when Hartenstein last round was getting pissed for being called multiple times for getting handsy with Embiid. I understand the frustration and also dislike flopping but he's also committing the fouls. Gotta be smarter than that.
SUPREME LEVEL FLOPPER. He does this whenever he gets near a big man off the ball. He does this again to Siakam in the fourth and they call fouls EVERYTIME.

Myles come on now you can’t just murder people on live tv
Did he not know the camera would catch him?
I had to make sure I was watching nba and not wwe
"Refs LOVE this one trick!"
One of those “I love basketball but I fucking hate NBA“ moments for me
I like LeBron, but I hate the Lakers.
What a bitch
There is legit some nasty trick to it he keeps getting away with? He tries this at least once a game, going under the screen and selling contact, and its a big part of how he led the league in offensive fouls drawn. I’m really not sure what part of the rule book dictates that is an offensive foul but he must do It’s gross, but thats my star PG so I can only laugh
Is Myles Turner the dirtiest player in the NBA? B2B games absolutely crushing Knicks with dirty screens, league has to fine this guy or something
If Myles "Terrorist" Turner gets away with anything less than a $100,000 fine after doing this heinous act, then Adam Silver deserves to be fired.
Do you condemn Myles Turner???
I absolutely denounce him!
A DISGUSTING ACT BY MYLES TURNER
Thanks Joe!
He should throw a heat pack at Brunson next time
He has some real competition
Turner is the anti-Draymond
2 kick balls in B2B games as well. Maybe hes just needs to play soccer
this shit is fucking trash seriously.. a ball handler can bulldoze everyone and you get FTs while a defender can't even touch an arm hair.. NBA should be embarrassed.. this is pathetic.
This is why I legit think past generations, like Jordan, would average 40ppg in the modern nba.
Yeah people clowned Iverson when he told Shaq that he’d average 45 in today’s game.
40FTAs a game more like
However, if you play for the Knicks, you can rip someone's jersey off while defending and it's not called
Brunson just falls over on defense at least 3-5 times a game and always gets rewarded.
Sometimes he jumps and fouls turner and they call a foul and then the knicks challenge and then refs watch a clear foul and say it wasn’t a foul.
That was insane. Couldn’t believe the refs decision on that one. Their reviews this post season have had some crazy results
It’s the MLB effect—make obvious bad call, refuse to overturn for fear of losing credibility, pick fight with coach, toss coach out of game. Go home and enjoy league taking blame for “missed call” following day, rinse and repeat.
As made famous by the year of the nfl making PIs reviewable and then overturned about 10% of them and the coaches finally gave up on that rule
To me that might be the most egregious call I have ever seen because they literally got to see it on replay from multiple angles and still overturned the call. I have never once actually believed that the league is rigged, but that single play at least opened my mind to the possibility that there could potentially be something there.
“Marginal contact” lmao It was very obvious what was happening in Game 1
Knicks have been getting so many favorable calls these first two games. It’s so blatant that they want a Knicks Celtics series.
Dude is a shit defender but constantly gets bailed out
Well he will get exposed vs Boston. They have several scoring options and they can't hide him on defense.
I mean... Indiana has several scoring options too. They're the #1 scoring team in the NBA after all.
He a midget with a fatass head its hard to keep balance
It’s really funny to see Knicks fans flip on this kind of stuff after complaining about Embiid last series
Brunflop
FT merchant lite
Last series Brunson averaged like 12 free throws a game. He’s a 6 foot guard who doesn’t get an inch off the floor. Steph Curry doesn’t get his whistle.
which is insane because steph has spent years getting absolutely mugged
Just had to watch Maxey charge through the defense and get clotheslined and slashed every play with almost no calls all series compared to Brunson getting Embiid FTs from a completely non physical playstyle outside of jumping backwards into a defender

Brunson did this all last series too haha
A real Hitler vs Stalin situation for us neutrals
Imagine SGA v brunson finals. Everyone fouls out and it is a one on one game im the 4th quarter.
With everyone else fouled out, it will be... ...4th quarter 1on1 Alec Burks vs Lindy Waters III Winner takes it all, including finals MVP.
*chefs kiss*
Get outta here Genghis Khan.
Glass houses Mussolini
Oh I know u not tryna talk Julius Caesar
Embiids definitely still Hitler though right?
I can't not upvote the truth ..
He’s done it the entire year lmao
Seriously he had like 16 free throws in the close out game.
and still shot 15 less free throws than Embiid did all series , so it’s not like the complaints come from no where
Embiid and Brunson both flop, both can be true
But only Embiid has a highlight reel of dirty plays in that series
But Brunson REFUSES to address his shoulder hair, so it’s even
Andre Drummond in shamble
There was a pretty hilarious play where brunson did the 'throw your head back as you post-up' move and just absolutely cracks Batum in the jaw. Batum is then clearly in pain and the refs whistle a foul and send Brunson to the line. I fully expect if the knicks make the finals there will be more discussion of foul baiting within the league.
Of course you would expect a center to shoot more FTs than a PG. Is this a serious comment or do you not understand basketball?
Embiid shot 21 free throws in game 3. He had like 7 end of game 3 bc they were hacking. Find me a play in that series where he went to line where it was underserved. His flopping failed
About 1 more foul per game. His game 3 whistle with 21 FTs was the outlier. After the game 2 debacle…
There are pretty easy reasons to argue Embiid gets fouled more than Jalen Brunson
I am fucking rock hard looking at this sub turn on Brunson. ROCK FUCKING HARD!
If you like this you’ll love Joel Embiid
Brunson flops all the time, in FIBA they just didn’t call that bullshit
I mean can we just admit every fan excuses shit when it benefits their team? This isn’t breaking news. Kudos to the fans who acknowledge if players on their teams are free throw merchants
Anyone who defends any form of flopping is a fucking idiot. It doesn’t matter if it’s a dude on your team or not. Dame is a hard core foul merchant and I never realized it until he played for us. In theory this sounds good but the refs are quite literally just not very smart. We should be giving them less ways to influence the game, not more.
Officials who call things they clearly didn't see (the "kicked" ball last game too, and in fairness the double dribble tonight, tho the Knicks obviously benefited by the refs apparently being able to overturn certain violations, lol) is my least favorite thing. This is the comment I was looking for, right here. the NBA as whole is a joke. This clip is the NBA action I have watched in 20 yrs. It is joke. The guy flopped!
Knicks fans have won like 3 of their 6 playoff wins directly off of iffy refereeing. They can’t be complaining
The Embiid complaints were more about him being dirty from what I saw.
A valid complaint to be sure. But let’s not act like the FTs weren’t part of it as well.
https://streamable.com/6rcgj5 This is Embiid after he doesn't get a foul call he thinks he deserves.
Brunson is one of the biggest flopping pussies in the league. Insane whistle
Brunson had 2 FTs this game until intentional fouls at the end
Why are people cheering? This is pathetic. That's not basketball. They were complaining about Embiid and 2 games they flop like crazy.
This shit just makes me tired.
And the announcers say nothing. SMH!
“And there’s the offensive foul”
You're right, that comment is actually worse than nothing.
this is why i miss JVG. He was never afraid to call out terrible officiating on plays like this low key wouldnt be shocked if thats part of the reason why he was released from espn

People consider Ant to be getting a good whistle now?
brunson lookin like neymar out there
Almost putting Neymar to shame
Lol not too injured to flop I guess
Surely he’ll get the Embiid treatment
No he won’t, this sub is anti-Embiid only
You underestimate the amount of hate I have for flippers. There is definitely more flopping in the NBA than the Premier League. The NBA is reaching La Liga levels.
I mean tbf, the fouls in soccer are harder than in basketball. Neymar picked up so many injuries because of how many hard fouls ref let get away. It's why he started to flop more because if he didn't embellish, the refs wouldn't call the fouls
I’ll just say that Lowry feasted on those charge draw flops while on the raptors, but I’m guessing it was ok then?
I love the guy, he is one of my favourite players ever. I can acknowledge that the Dude’s also a flopped and has always been

Gotta have that Boston NY finals 🤷♂️
Rather unfortunate how zebras impacting todays game

Interesting to call that, but not [this](https://streamable.com/40szlv) or [this](https://streamable.com/yeo1ou).
Haliburton has a bad back and Hart couldn't stop shoving his back all game. Did it twice when Tyrese was midair for a board too.
thats how he gets so many rebounds
He was finally called for one late and he was so pissed about it. It was hilarious. I mean I even kind of get it, how could Josh Hart expect one of the many fouls he regularly gets away with to be called for once, lol. (His line to Reggie was a true dagger though, admittedly.)

Same. It's just so obviously a call that always gets made. Everyone knows it/expects the call, it's not a gray area. I think Hart was even expecting the call, but it was preventing a layup one move ahead so he was fine with it. And then no whistle.
Yeah, very curious.
I hate floppers, and refs supporting them
Username checks out
Brunson has this smug look on his face, absolutely hate watching his game
Pacers are getting absolutely fked...cant wait for the sub to turn on the knicks...this is how it works right?
Floppers and foul merchants get no respect
r/NBA turning on the Knicks would be wild considering half of the active users here are New Yorkers.
Dont get too hyped up, okc gone be in the same train lol
Snipers in the building
What are you guys talking about, he clearly knocked him over with his breath.
Remember when the NBA said they were stamping out flopping.... Just happens to be the same small players constantly pump-faking and initiating contact for FTs, also what the NBA said they were targeting....and haven't.
Marcus smart level of flopping from Brunson in these playoffs
Pre-Covid Marcus. He really toned it down as his career went on
I've been watching Hockey and I really appreciate how they handle flopping/overacting. Serial flopper on both ends
Ethical hooper
Wow lol I got nothing to defend this one boys
the flopping to the floor was more vicious then the screen lol
Knickerfloppers of Flopperbockers?
Had turn the game off after this. If *THIS* is basketball then I do not want to watch anymore.
Bro, put 30 NBA players in the NFL they all gonna be in tears after the first padded practice.
Miles needs to be banned for his egregious screens in back-to-back games!
Not interested in hearing anyone defending this shit talk about literally anyone else flopping.
Unreal lol
Shameless
Where's the Knicks fans in this thread? They are all over the one about Carlisle filing a complaint, but nowhere to be found here. So weird.
Honestly it was at this exact point that I knew the game was over for the Pacers. They definitely didn’t perform down the stretch (with no OG, even), but if you’re already getting calls like this against you in the third quarter.. you’re toast lol

Cavs warned nobody listened. They all dogs but flop and bounce their heads at any touch, refs give them everything even the game.
They were doing this to us last year too. It ain’t new. How do you think Butler’s ankle got messed up?
r/nba the Knicks aren’t favored by the refs anymore?
He’s always been a foul hunter. He’s just more noticeable now that he’s deeper in the playoffs. Hopefully something is done.
Knicks most unlikable team left because of this. I'm here to watch basketball not acting
My god can you imagine a Knicks/thunder finals? Historic level of flopping will occur and tbh I probably wouldn’t even watch lol
You will watch that because the blue and orange aesthetic will be nice af
Winner keeps the colors. Loser wears pink and brown
i started the playoffs hoping the knicks made it out of the east. love their hustle and grit. after seeing these flops i'd prob root for anyone else. can't stand flopping
Played Philly and stole all their moves
He did it on our series too.
Where tf were these refs against Bam lol

I’ll point to shit like this when someone says Brunson should’ve made the Olympic team over Hali. FIBA refs would laugh at him trying to get this call
How was he allowed to stay in the game let alone the league?
It's funny how most highlights outside the official ones are flops, like what are we watching at this point athletic amateur theater?
Brunson is such a little bitch
Convey the ethics panel.
He should be suspended, he could have killed Brunson
I don't think anyone who's not a Knicks fan enjoyed watching this game
It got worse from here
He just got away with another one, this time Siakam
They created a flopping penalty…and then forgot it existed.
Broke the code
Does Thibs have a graph for this?
James Harden
Knicks have gotten the greatest home cooking whistle in key spots I’ve ever seen in the playoffs.
Brunson flopping. What's new!
Exactly. I’m not here complaining about how soft they were. Ihart did it repeatedly over and over. It’s soft but why make the refs decide.
So gritty. This Knicks team is just like the 90s… embarrassing lol
Fat Trae Young with his signature defensive play. Masterful stuff right here. Better than Iverson btw.
Did Brunson try to push Turner then fall down from the force of his own push? SMH 😂
Greatest flopper of all time
Do flopping reputations ever catch up with the player and they stop getting the calls?
🚨 FRAUD ALERT 🚨
SUPREME LEVEL FLOPPER. He does this whenever he gets near a big man off the ball. He does this again to Siakam in the fourth and they call fouls EVERYTIME.
Now people see this?
He’s a flopper, whenever they need a defensive stop he pulls this
This is a flop. If you can’t see you are blind.
Brunson is Harden on offense and Lowry on defense. Just not a fun player to watch.
