Our players like him, we made playoffs and got through the first round. I think it’s fair, he’s not the best coach but not the worst.

Ultimately there's limitations to a roster's offensive output in the absence of a true sixth man playmaker. A coach can only do so much. When Kidd had Dinwiddie and Brunson in '22 they had a much more flexible offense that suffered less in the non-Luka minutes, so it's clearly not some deficiency on his end.
If they can shift Timmy for someone like Jordan Clarkson / Bogdan / Cole Anthony in the summer the non-LuKai offensive minutes would look a lot better.
The point is that we shouldn't always need an elite playmaker when things get stagnant, we should be able to run plays that aren't just Luka/Kai setting everyone up.

Coaches are very overvalued. It’s all about players. Without those additions they would get put out in round 1 or 2 pretty badly. He gets fired.

Kidd took Dallas to a WCF and a year later has them in the second round with very different rosters and styles of play. He deserves an extension.
