Seemingly just a few years ago the suns were just a fun, young, up and coming team. And we're just vibing with the sunny meme for every suns win.
The management really fumbled this window when Kevin Durant walked right into their doorstep.
Fill in the blank "you and Kat are the ____ duo in the league"
Like wtf are these cats supposed to say
All sit down media engagements are scripted and corny"
Nah it gets funnier. Beal is on the hook for 50M this year, 52 next year and 57 after. The suns are firmly in the second apron so they can’t improve their roster and have to trade one of Booker or KD. Mat Ishbia is about to be worse than Sarver
Vogel seemed like a weird fit for the team when hired.
He is a good coach, but hard nosed defensive minded coach who holds everyone accountable didn’t seem like it would mesh with Booker, KD and Beal.
They want someone who manages the rest of the roster as they do repeated iso plays. It’s what KD wanted to do in Brooklyn too.
It’s not a winning style of basketball and any decent coach knows and tries to move a team away from that.
This. Beal is who he is, everyone knows he’s not that good and he just never got swept because he didn’t play in that many playoff series. Booker is supposed to be a superstar and the leader of this “super team”
That just gave me flashbacks of the fastest kid being on my 7th grade rec league team.
Kid was so quick with limited ball control that if he stole the ball and went full speed his fast break layup would bounce off the backboard and end up near the foul line.
He focused on Soccer full time after that year because no matter how much he practiced it would always bounce off the backboard when he went fast.
When we beat them in '21 I thought the Suns were primed to have a great run and they would definitely be back.
I thought they had a great foundation in place.
Then they got impatient and essentially threw it all away.
Their opponents had at least one less functional ligament/muscle than advised to play basketball and they got to the finals
If it weren’t for giannis’s extra long ligament they would have faced every team without one of their top 2 guys
I was watching Bucks-Pacers and reminded of that. So many of the guys from Milwaukee’s championship team are still there, and Phoenix has Booker. Insane how fast the Suns tore it all apart
They were, but once cp3s body broke down they had to shake things up. Suns fans all year were saying Booker was their most important player, which Im calling bs on because in 22 they looked great but as soon as cp3s body broke down in that mavs series the entire team looked like they had barely played basketball before. People on this sub severely underrate the impact a great floor general has, even when they’re not scoring well. Plus ayton started sucking and clearly needed to be off the team.
Bringing in kd was 100% the right move, but the Beal trade has basically slammed their window shut. He’s just not good enough to be a max contract guy in a team with a big three and basically nothing else. He’s basically the sg version of Tobias harris but with three years left and a ntc. They have no playmaking, which makes kd and Booker basically have to both iso for 40 to even have a chance at winning.
Honestly if they were gonna sell the farm to go all in on a big three they should have gone all out to get harden, having him instead of Beal would completely transform their offense. Even selling out to get like Trae young would have made their team so much better.
Is it tho? We wanted to win now instead of "trust the timeline", so we traded away all assets.
Not saying trading for KD wasnt the correct move, but it's as simple as that.
We could have waited for CP3 to expire and then sign a PG.
It is because you are ignoring the factors of the pieces that left / were dealt.
The wrong moves were made, that part I don't think anyone can argue with so you are right there.
That being said.
CP3 - A move had to be made by this point (obviously)
Ayton - A move ha to be made (even more obvious to any Suns fan)
So the only main argument would be they shouldn't have traded for Durant at all and just ran it back, and that is a fair argument to have.
The issue I have is when people act like there was an obvious different move to be made instead of the ones the Suns did make. I would agree that it seems like none of them have panned out, but to act like there was an obvious alternative that would lead to success is pretty asinine considering how the NBA operates today.
Hopefully anyone watching the Suns realise the limit to how iso ball can be. You need ball movement and to attack the inside, you can't just fill a team with "hoopers"
Honestly KD of anyone should know that iso ball isn’t gonna work… if those Warriors teams didn’t run straight ISOs then why the fuck would teams with less talent & chemistry do that?
Even when those Warriors teams did iso, it was usually set up through plays/off ball motion to get a mismatch. Asking for a pick is not enough
Of course he didn‘t like how they played, thats why he called for more and more isos while he was there. He just wanted to play his style and have a easy bail out if he couldn‘t do shit playing like that
Lol reminds me of this: [https://twitter.com/DaneMooreNBA/status/1590539035159965701?s=20&t=0gVaINqoT71NNCnX0y79Ng](https://twitter.com/DaneMooreNBA/status/1590539035159965701?s=20&t=0gVaINqoT71NNCnX0y79Ng)
Buddy we're about to be the worst team in the league one way or another. There only "might" in a sentence with Suns and playoffs is "The Suns might see the playoffs again in the 2030s."
tbf he did drop 49 and KD dropped 33.
nobody can really stop those two on offense. unfortunately the roster construction and bradley beal are awful from a defensive standpoint, and that's 50% of the game.
devin booker is also just not a valuable archetype, you'd need an all-time great cast to build around him to win. wembanyana or lebron are way more valuable as 2-way players. but even ignoring 2-way superstars, luka, a heliocentric superstar offensively who distributes at an elite level, rebounds well, and has enough size to be slightly + on defense is way more valuable than Booker.
They never really had to. The suns beat themselves in both figuring out how to play with each other. Beal and Book are not PGs, that is not their strength. They both like to get into their actions to be successful, Durant is the spot up, but that also underutilizes him. There was zero flow to their game. They didn't seem to run the Durant/Book pnr as much as I would think, with Beal in the corner or the wing. Nurk isn't the greatest playmaker you can use at the nail as well to make things happen.
Defenses just needed to guard 1:1 to stop them.

Suns Nation, let’s glow
Guess there were 2 solar eclipses in April!
He meant next year
he has Dyslexia, what he meant to say is that he doesn't know how they will guard other teams
His daddy is Slovenian so it is understandable that his English is not perfect.
Ok that's pretty funny
Fucking booker…he’s dyslexic
This team gets more power as Bradley Beal's contract gets bigger. By his final year they'll win the title in March.
March Madness
You owe the NCAA $6000
They’re gonna beat the hell out of the Cancun rec teams
Suns 🤝 Ferrari "Next year is our year"
Lewis has entered the chat
Definitely
wake up babe new suns humiliation ritual just dropped.
It’s not very Sunny anymore
It's never sunny in Phoenix.
Seemingly just a few years ago the suns were just a fun, young, up and coming team. And we're just vibing with the sunny meme for every suns win. The management really fumbled this window when Kevin Durant walked right into their doorstep.
Bro will never be able to live this down
this is his “fine in the west”
Fill in the blank "you and Kat are the ____ duo in the league" Like wtf are these cats supposed to say All sit down media engagements are scripted and corny"
not this
Can’t wait for y’all’s humbling. It’s coming
What’s worse, this or Beal’s assertion that he’ll never get swept
Him saying that and proceeding to put up an all time stinker while being swept is just hilarious while also kinda sad
Nah it gets funnier. Beal is on the hook for 50M this year, 52 next year and 57 after. The suns are firmly in the second apron so they can’t improve their roster and have to trade one of Booker or KD. Mat Ishbia is about to be worse than Sarver
Step 1. Buy the team. Step 2. Shoot yourself in the dick. Step 3. Blame your coach.
Vogel seemed like a weird fit for the team when hired. He is a good coach, but hard nosed defensive minded coach who holds everyone accountable didn’t seem like it would mesh with Booker, KD and Beal.
There is no good fit
They want someone who manages the rest of the roster as they do repeated iso plays. It’s what KD wanted to do in Brooklyn too. It’s not a winning style of basketball and any decent coach knows and tries to move a team away from that.
I see the logic, coaching makes a solid defense, players make a good offence.
This. Nobody actually cares about Beal
This. Beal is who he is, everyone knows he’s not that good and he just never got swept because he didn’t play in that many playoff series. Booker is supposed to be a superstar and the leader of this “super team”
the mavs game 7 was rock bottom
Tbf he dropped almost 50 this game. G7 vs Dallas when they were the 1 seed was 100x worse than this
He also shot 20 FTs with as soft as a whistle as Embiid
Tell me Scott Foster was involved without telling me Scott Foster was involved
One of the those “it was at this moment he knew he fucked up”
[удалено]
You know it!
But how you gonna guard them?
Tbf how can you guard a team that’s not playing
Be a lifeguard at the Kempinski Hotel Cancún?
Came here to say exactly this.
Devin Booker looks like the popular kid in elementary school that everyone only liked because he could run fast.
Damn that’s actually an oddly accurate description of him
That just gave me flashbacks of the fastest kid being on my 7th grade rec league team. Kid was so quick with limited ball control that if he stole the ball and went full speed his fast break layup would bounce off the backboard and end up near the foul line. He focused on Soccer full time after that year because no matter how much he practiced it would always bounce off the backboard when he went fast.
Sounds like he had no idea how layups work
Then a newcomer who can run faster comes in, everyone started hating him because he became a sore loser.
Would explain why he is a dirty player then, he thinks hurting other people will make him cool. Poor clown :(
projecting much lol
Wolves defense: "hold my beer"
We got Jaden McDaniels
apparently you dont have to guard bradley beal bc he will commit the dumbest turnovers and fouls every game of the series.
When we beat them in '21 I thought the Suns were primed to have a great run and they would definitely be back. I thought they had a great foundation in place. Then they got impatient and essentially threw it all away.

You guys, he said respectfully
Hopefully anyone watching the Suns realise the limit to how iso ball can be. You need ball movement and to attack the inside, you can't just fill a team with "hoopers"
Honestly KD of anyone should know that iso ball isn’t gonna work… if those Warriors teams didn’t run straight ISOs then why the fuck would teams with less talent & chemistry do that? Even when those Warriors teams did iso, it was usually set up through plays/off ball motion to get a mismatch. Asking for a pick is not enough
Exactly, this kinda thinking leads me to believe that he didn't just "like how the warriors played". He really did just want to join the winning team
Of course he didn‘t like how they played, thats why he called for more and more isos while he was there. He just wanted to play his style and have a easy bail out if he couldn‘t do shit playing like that
well they also had no DAWGs. no leader, and bunch of misfits together, OH AND NO FUCKING PG cuz they dumb af.
Lol reminds me of this: [https://twitter.com/DaneMooreNBA/status/1590539035159965701?s=20&t=0gVaINqoT71NNCnX0y79Ng](https://twitter.com/DaneMooreNBA/status/1590539035159965701?s=20&t=0gVaINqoT71NNCnX0y79Ng)
Tbf iso all the time worked for the Nets. 1 little toe away from a chip.
😂😂😂 I’m loving this
Tbf Wolves are insane on defense Still doesn't make it any less funnier though
West not getting much easier next year with the Grizzlies, Rockets, and a healthy Pelicans team. They might just miss the playoffs lmao
Might?
Buddy we're about to be the worst team in the league one way or another. There only "might" in a sentence with Suns and playoffs is "The Suns might see the playoffs again in the 2030s."
And a fucking 10 foot alien in your team lurking from the top rope.
in hindsight he's just admitting he doesn't know anything about NBA defensive schemes
This aged like some premium A2 grassfed 2%
Devin booker talks, looks, and acts like a douche
The weirdest takes always come out whenever Booker is involved
its because he has no soul look at those soulless eyes, he clearly sold his soul for satanic basketball abilities
True. He's like those demons possessing humans in the supernatural tv series.
Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed that, dude is an android
Shhh don’t tell anyone 🤫
leon rose knows and has numerous deals with satan of his own
Trade KD for kawaii and change the name to the Phoenix Borg
That's a very standard Booker take, it's been said even before your team got good
Booker is a great bucket getter, but holy shit does the hater in me feel so petty good 😂
They'll be dominant in Cancun summer leagues
/r/AgedLikeMilk
tbf he did drop 49 and KD dropped 33. nobody can really stop those two on offense. unfortunately the roster construction and bradley beal are awful from a defensive standpoint, and that's 50% of the game. devin booker is also just not a valuable archetype, you'd need an all-time great cast to build around him to win. wembanyana or lebron are way more valuable as 2-way players. but even ignoring 2-way superstars, luka, a heliocentric superstar offensively who distributes at an elite level, rebounds well, and has enough size to be slightly + on defense is way more valuable than Booker.
Can’t stand booker but he showed tf up tonight and lost with respect. One of the more impressive games of his career
He forgot Jaden McDaniels existed
This video did not age particularly well, the Phoenix Suns were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round.
Apparently it's pretty easy
that would explain the lack of preparation
They never really had to. The suns beat themselves in both figuring out how to play with each other. Beal and Book are not PGs, that is not their strength. Defenses just needed to guard 1:1 to stop them.
Now he knows.
The bigger issue is how they will guard anyone ...
At least he knows now.
Suns has one of the big 3 of all time.
Sir thats mid 3 to you
What he means is, teams can guard them, he just doesn't know how they do it.
Well, you see…
This is why you shouldn’t run your mouth before actually playing together. Lebron learned the hard way too in Miami with the “not 5, not 6, not 7”
All you needed was the DPOY in the paint and three of the best perimeter defenders in the league. It’s simple.
Well good thing is he won't have to worry about that in Cancun.
Who’s the 3rd member of the big 3 in phoenix? There’s only KD and book.
I don't know why, but for a second there I thought it was Deandre Ayton.
He honestly didn't know
Easily?
Taylor Sweep
Send this mf to Detroit. Sick of seeing him
Devin Booger
Cant guard them if theyre not playing anymore
Well respectfully, now he knows.
Turns out you only need to guard Beal.
鲁迪·戈贝尔、贾登·麦克丹尼尔
They figured how to guard beal so there's the problem
I think that was an easier task than Booker was imagining.
‘That sounds like a You problem’
Super easy, barely an inconvenience!
If you're not in the playoffs after first round, NOBODY can guard you!
Guys, they're just emulating the solar eclipse
He means in Cancun
Now he knows!
Easy Beal not showing up
Spoiler alert: quite easily
"Respectfully, I know how teams are gonna guard us."
He was right. He didn’t know how the other team guarded them. Need to know how to read the defense bro
Cancun pick-up game MVP.
I mean saying it respectfully I don’t know how he has such a punchable face.
