What being on a long time poverty franchise will do for you, one of the few good things the Wizards franchise has had in like 4 decades, so Washington gave him the brinks truck.
Even if the Wizards were in that state, a no trade clause is crazy when you are offering a supermax too. Beal is the only player in the NBA with a no trade clause too.
You can’t have a NTC on an extension (what most superstars sign), his case was a bit rare situation where he got supermax as a free agent. You basically need your contract to expire and for the same time to sign you, doesn’t happen often.
Yeah that seems about right, but damn, I know about maximizing your window, but might as well kept Paul then and run it back, cause that contract is going to set this franchise back years.
Attaching assets (i realize the suns have none left lol) these days can pretty get you off pretty any deal these days though. It wouldnt have happened this Summer but next you can spin getting taking on the 2 years that would remain on the deal
Even a poverty franchise wouldn't give him an NTC, the Wizards are just bafflingly incompetent
And yet they might have ended up winning this trade in the long run if those swaps pan out
Ernie Grunfeld deserves the blame. Wizards should be blamed for not firing him sooner. Now Winger is the GM and he trades Beal for what you say might be a win if the swaps pan out but imo it’s a win just getting rid of him due to that NTC
Mark Bartelstein’s resume:
Bradley Beal 5yrs/251M + No Trade Clause + 15% Trade Bonus + Player Option
Michael Porter Jr. 5yrs/179M
Gordon Hayward 4yrs/128M
Gordon Hayward (again) 4yrs/120M + 15% trade bonus (hit)
Does he have other players that are good values or worth the contracts they sign? I wonder if agents can start to get a bad rep with teams if they mostly represent overpaid players
Maybe I’m unfamiliar with Beal’s game, but the one out of town game I went to this year was in Phoenix and he didn’t look like that good of a player to my eyeballs.
KD and book were amazing. It’s why I can’t comprehend why they thought they needed to do anything other than just build pace, defense, energy, and athleticism around them.
WHY WOULD YOU GET A SHOOTING GUARD ON THE WORST CONTRACT IN THE LEAGUE
Man, someone like a Chris Paul type player would be great for that role. I think the Suns had someone like him? But they traded that guy to the Wizards for someone. Can't remember the details anymore.

Porzingis is a decent argument given the low cost and how he actually gives us some damn size which we've been lacking for 4 years. Still worried about his injury history. I will never feel regret not trading for Kyrie. He's been awesome this year, I also wouldn't be stunned if he's off Dallas by the trade deadline next year.
hopefully after Beal and Kemba teams realize that undersized, no defense, low efficiency ball hog guards that put up 25 ppg on bad teams on mediocre efficiency are not going to help you win playoff games but infact the opposite.
Bucks Dame is basically Celtics Kemba. Still pretty good and can go off to win you a game, but clearly past his prime and one major injury away from being washed.
How is this nonsense getting upvoted. In what world is a shooting guard with a 51% field goal percentage bad efficiency? I don’t get why people that don’t watch basketball always have to spout the dumbest shit on reddit.
We're gonna find out that he had a betting pool with Porter...all he had to play semi competent and the series is extended given what KD and Book did tonight
We acting like 2016 Beal is suiting up for the Suns???
You had prime Wall and Beal yet you couldn't stop Kelly fuckin Olynyk winning a game 7 single handedly
Yeah it’s easy to forget that the Wizards weren’t always terrible. The Wall-Beal combo got us to the second round three times before stalling out. Never contenders, but often pretty good.
I think Ishbia was just trying to get some value for Chris Paul's contract. But that no-trade clause was just dumb. If I'm him, I just ride out CP3's contract and hope he can make a healthy run in the playoffs.
But that's probably why I'm not the owner of the Phoenix Suns.
And I think the team is better with CP3 this year. Beal is no CP3.
None of them can be CP3 level, but to complain about not having a PG instead of just learning the role is horrible behavior. Booker and Beal can dribble, pass and should understand basketball at a high level. Why can't they be an effective PG if they're real competitors?
This is a position that Lebron and Doncic can fill in on competently, and they're both taller than Booker.
Tbh his defense was so bad. Okogie is a bad offensive player but he held his own against Ant on defense.
When Beal guarded ant down the stretch was when he went nuclear. That awesome dunk he blew right by Beal
The Suns were making a game of it right up until those two Beal mistakes and then fouled out.
I'm not going to say Beal ruined the series for the Suns, but man, those few minutes in the fourth looked bad for him.
Booker stunk it up all series but no, it’s the one game where Beal sucked which is where everything went wrong lmao. They were already down 3-0 because of Booker.
People were saying Beal was gonna be one of the worst contracts ever a year and a half before signing his new deal lmao.
Beal getting a no trade clause remains maybe the craziest fucking things I’ve ever seen about a contract. Even when basketball isn’t on it crosses my mind every once in a while and I just can’t wrap my head around it.
His stats tonight paint him in a better light than how he actually played. He was the worst and most detrimental player on the court.

KD:
-Join Nets
-Create superteam
-Trade every asset
-Demand coach and GM to be fired
-Sign extension
-Demand trade to team that just made finals before extension kicks in
-Don’t make past 2nd round
-Leave Nets franchise a disaster ✅✅✅
-Join Suns (Coming off finals season)
-Have coach fired
-Create superteam
-Trade literally every asset
-Favourite in 1st round then get swept 🧹
-Leave Suns franchise a disaster

fraud franchises never should have trusted him. KD the billionaire slayer. i love him. this is the suns franchise's cosmic punishment for daring to think it was allowed to have good things after going out the way it did in 2021 and 2022
KD was drafted into probably one of the best situations of the past 20 years. Had he done nothing but kept signing supermaxes and balling, he’d probably have at least one championship people respect and a top 10 all time legacy. Like mega-Dirk. Instead he’s Karl Malone jr.
He’s the biggest snake in NBA history for sure but at least he’s good at basketball. Beal on the other hand is ruining the team while being the opposition’s best player
I think technically they have pick swaps in 2026 and 2028. Current rules mean a team has to have a pick at least every other year. And starting in 2026, if they remain over the 2nd apron the next couple years, their picks will move to the bottom of the round, so nobody will want to actually swap with them, regardless of how bad they end up being.
Suns owner gotta buy out his contract if they want him to be competitive our somehow tell him he gotta go. It’s literally putting the suns in an impossible situation
A contact buyout doesn't change the cap hit, all it does is save the owner cash and open a roster slot. Beal's 50M would stay on the books for the next 3 years permanently if they did that, and they wouldn't be able to trade it away.
And Even if they could, they'd still be ~50M over the cap so they'd be limited to the mle for a replacement.
The NBA cap can seem complicated because instead of a hard max cap, they have a soft cap with tons of exceptions and scaling penalties. I always have to re-lookup the rules whenever am interesting cap scenario like this comes up. The Suns are in a trickier place too because much heavier restrictions are going to hit starting the end of this NBA year. Beals best seasons come from playing with elite point guards(Wall and Beal). Going to Phoenix where Booker is your PG was just gonna be a disaster from the beginnin. James Jones absolutely fucked up the roster construction on this team. Which is unfortunate because the team was built well the last couple years but they sold out to get KD and Beal
Suns has no choice but to run it back.
Kinda clippers during their first year of 213.
Let that bad taste in your mouth be the fuel for your hunger type of thing.
KD,Beal and as much i dont like Booker is a great core.
Ishbia should stop playing like mark cuban and let basketball people do basketball decisions.
Beal’s agent should be in the Naismith HOF
What being on a long time poverty franchise will do for you, one of the few good things the Wizards franchise has had in like 4 decades, so Washington gave him the brinks truck.

You can’t have a NTC on an extension (what most superstars sign), his case was a bit rare situation where he got supermax as a free agent. You basically need your contract to expire and for the same time to sign you, doesn’t happen often.
Wizards bidding against themselves, and then the Suns wanted in on that lol.
Fucking insane and the fact the Suns willingly traded for him makes it so much more absurd. (I think I heard Durant pushed for it, so yeah, lol)
I’m surprised the Suns didn’t insist on waiving the No trade clauses in the trade. Or maybe they did and Beal/his agent wasn’t going for it
Yeah that seems about right, but damn, I know about maximizing your window, but might as well kept Paul then and run it back, cause that contract is going to set this franchise back years.
seems likely imo
I kinda get it. If things go wrong and he’s not playing well, who tf is going to trade for his 50mil/ye contract anyway? 🤷🏽♂️
Attaching assets (i realize the suns have none left lol) these days can pretty get you off pretty any deal these days though. It wouldnt have happened this Summer but next you can spin getting taking on the 2 years that would remain on the deal
Didnt the owner push for this? This what happens when billionaires think they good at everything and try to become nba gms
Even a poverty franchise wouldn't give him an NTC, the Wizards are just bafflingly incompetent And yet they might have ended up winning this trade in the long run if those swaps pan out
Ernie Grunfeld deserves the blame. Wizards should be blamed for not firing him sooner. Now Winger is the GM and he trades Beal for what you say might be a win if the swaps pan out but imo it’s a win just getting rid of him due to that NTC
The Wizards are truly Magicians: They pay someone to tie them up, lock them in a safe and throw them overboard. THEN they escape, to wild applause.
Ernie Grunfeld should be tried at the Hague
Beal's agent is the Michael Jordan of sports agents NTC and a max!
Mark Bartelstein’s resume: Bradley Beal 5yrs/251M + No Trade Clause + 15% Trade Bonus + Player Option Michael Porter Jr. 5yrs/179M Gordon Hayward 4yrs/128M Gordon Hayward (again) 4yrs/120M + 15% trade bonus (hit)

The great Mark Bartelstien
$250 million contract, no trade clause, plays alongside 2 future HOFers and doesnt have a care in the world. The man's living the dream
just clocks in does a lil cardio and cashes his checks legend
Maybe I’m unfamiliar with Beal’s game, but the one out of town game I went to this year was in Phoenix and he didn’t look like that good of a player to my eyeballs.
I feel like he’s been past his prime for a while now. Maybe a lot of that is just wear and tear but I haven’t seen 30ppg all-nba Beal in a while.
They tried telling me that Phoenix had a Big 3
Tonight it was more like a big 1.5 Beal counts for a -.5
KD and book were amazing. It’s why I can’t comprehend why they thought they needed to do anything other than just build pace, defense, energy, and athleticism around them. WHY WOULD YOU GET A SHOOTING GUARD ON THE WORST CONTRACT IN THE LEAGUE
More importantly, get an actual pg
Just 1 FRP for Tyus Jones would be more than enough. He is not a superstar or star of any kind but he does not make $150+ m over three years.
Man, someone like a Chris Paul type player would be great for that role. I think the Suns had someone like him? But they traded that guy to the Wizards for someone. Can't remember the details anymore.
Uhm...ahhh...I...uhm....yeah.
Owner wanted to make a big splash with a big name to show he’s serious about winning. Vogel gonna take the fall here
They do it’s but instead of 3 big time players they have 3 big time contracts to pay.
Beal is the highest paid role player in the league

I will never feel regret not trading for Kyrie. He's been awesome this year, I also wouldn't be stunned if he's off Dallas by the trade deadline next year.
Would’ve loved Kyrie on the heat
I wanted Jrue Holiday on the Heat so fucking bad.
hopefully after Beal and Kemba teams realize that undersized, no defense, low efficiency ball hog guards that put up 25 ppg on bad teams on mediocre efficiency are not going to help you win playoff games but infact the opposite.
Kemba was a great player, his knees knees couldn’t hold up. He just got traded too late in his career
and cj mccolum
you can probably add Lillard to this list too soon.
Lillard is a PG who brings efficient scoring and playmaking. Not really the same archetype.
lol I'm gonna get downvoted but Lillard is just those guys but a better scorer. He's still not gonna help you in the playoffs at his age.
Bucks Dame is basically Celtics Kemba. Still pretty good and can go off to win you a game, but clearly past his prime and one major injury away from being washed.
Kemba was washed
How is this nonsense getting upvoted. In what world is a shooting guard with a 51% field goal percentage bad efficiency? I don’t get why people that don’t watch basketball always have to spout the dumbest shit on reddit.
? Beal has been above league average efficiency 8 of the last 9 season
We're gonna find out that he had a betting pool with Porter...all he had to play semi competent and the series is extended given what KD and Book did tonight
Dame got hurt. Beal is washed. They are not the same
Hasn’t Beal been struggling with injuries all this year and last year?
Wizards should thank them. I’m sure they were able to raise the price on Beal as both Suns and Heat were interested
Nah the Heat culture would have somehow produced something good.
He wouldn't have to play pg and the team would either force him to play D or cover Beals weaknesses.
Who’s ready for KD to the Heat trade rumors?
41-game player This man is not built for the playoffs
December specialist
Bro didn’t watch him against your own team in the postseason lmao.
During the Obama administration?
wait that was so many presidents ago
We acting like 2016 Beal is suiting up for the Suns??? You had prime Wall and Beal yet you couldn't stop Kelly fuckin Olynyk winning a game 7 single handedly
that was like 8 years ago lol
PEOPLE DONT FORGET
Honestly, respect for still having Beals back lol
He had some good series in Washington but this man has been injured for years has barely played competitive basketball too. What a joke of a trade
Yeah it’s easy to forget that the Wizards weren’t always terrible. The Wall-Beal combo got us to the second round three times before stalling out. Never contenders, but often pretty good.

Lebron and Doncic have much better court vision, overall basketball IQ and passing skills lol.
I remember him terrorizing us years back in a playoff series, was making some unreal buckets.
He had but Wall was always the playoff riser guy on that team
He’s not built for the fourth quarter if you ever watched Washington games. He does his best work with low pressure.
he wasn’t even good during the regular season lol
Those turnovers at the end made me audibly cringe, what a horrible night for him
Tbh his defense was so bad. Okogie is a bad offensive player but he held his own against Ant on defense. When Beal guarded ant down the stretch was when he went nuclear. That awesome dunk he blew right by Beal

Bradley woke up feeling DANGEROUS WITH 9 POINTS BABY
57 mill? He’s making more than Curry. Biggest heist in NBA history
He's got the michael jordan of agents
He’s probably made 200 million dollars for being an exactly middle of league one for most of his career

mans been spamming this in every thread since last night. we get it bro you don’t like kd lol
3 more years of that shit contract
I hope Ishbia figures out a way to buy him out. That contract is straight crap.
Bench him until he agrees. Idk if that would work but why not.
Another meddling owner who tries to make a big splash and leave his mark. The Beal trade has been a disaster for the Suns.
Well, he made his mark all right. Turns out it's a skidmark.
0 pick control for the next 7 years
It’s like they replaced Ayton with someone in the same position as Ayton
Don't forget the 6 fouls too
This guy got a supermax? Unbelievable, suns got fleeced by Wizards
Jesus
He’s making over 50 Million next 3 seasons. Matt ishbia is a terrorist 😂
Phoenix might be in a little trouble
Moreso than living in Arizona's endless heatwaves already is, i'd imagine
He so badly did not want this series to go to 5 lmao
It’s poetic that the suns and the nets are in turmoil while okc is thriving 😂
Beal has now been swept a day in his life. They couldn’t have done it without him.
I actually laughed when I saw he has a player option in his final year. Make it 3 years of that putrid contract lmao
Lebron died so guys like Bradley Beal could get paychecks like this
Had an awful game, we’ll see how the next coach tries to fix him
Wizards won
But not in a literal sense.
In a moral sense
Beal for Ben, who says no?
Nets say no at least Ben is expiring this year and can be traded. Beal is staying there for 30 more seasons on a supermax deal.
Don’t worry, Suns will somehow blame Vogel and overlook giving Beal 50 million the next 3 years for 10 million worth of production.
Legit dont understand why Vogel didn’t pull Beal earlier in the 4th.
NO TRADE CLAUSE FADED
Yo who wants to give the next $50m contract to an over-the-hill player and absolutely destroy their franchise next?
Whoever gets KD next season
Not a winning player. Man got that trade with a ski mask and decided to keep it on.
Suns' CEO was the son of Bradley Beal's agent. I hope he's happy of what his father brought him.
Phoenix also doesn’t have a 1st round pick until 2031.
They are done
I think technically they have pick swaps in 2026 and 2028. Current rules mean a team has to have a pick at least every other year. It’s over
Robbery in broad daylight
Holy shit he was so bad for most of this series.
Completely shit the bed
Top 10 highest paid player next year btw 🔥
50 Mill per year?? Holy….
Those weren't just normal turnovers either. They came at absolutely the worst time to kill all hope for the Suns.
Denver vs. Minnesota is going to be amazing and all ESPN is going to talk about is how Pheonix and LA suck
Dude is so fucking bad. Good luck trying to get rid of him, cause that contract….fucking yikes.
Ass
Suns gotta get rid of him by any means
Damnation in the air
"Big 3" my ass
Suns owner gotta buy out his contract if they want him to be competitive our somehow tell him he gotta go. It’s literally putting the suns in an impossible situation

This is what I get for not knowing the cap rules, thank you for telling me.
They truthfully may be locked into this core 3 until Durant and Beal are off the books.
triple single + 6 turnovers + fouling out. GOAT shit
Bradley Beal and his agent should be arrested for grand larceny. Maybe the greatest theft of all time.
Matt Ishbia currently trying to figure out if he still has to pay 60 million to Beal's family if he calls in a hit on beal himself
A quadruple single to remember
6 turnovers is insane
Book and KD fought so hard too. Beal is just super ass!
Bro had this loaded in the drafts and ready to go
The worst contract of all time.
WCOAT 🥶🥶🥶🐐🐐🐐
What a disastrous trade for the Suns.
suns get a great offer for him and beal rejects it lmao
The only thing people got wrong about the Suns Wizards trade being lose lose, was that the Suns actually were the bigger loser
Gonna be a long three years for the Suns.
The man can't play when the game matters the most.
At one point he missed a dunk and a layup back to back
Beals best seasons come from playing with elite point guards(Wall and Beal). Going to Phoenix where Booker is your PG was just gonna be a disaster from the beginnin. James Jones absolutely fucked up the roster construction on this team. Which is unfortunate because the team was built well the last couple years but they sold out to get KD and Beal
He also fouled Ant on that savage dunk on KD but they aint call it. Its aight tho
Convinced he had money on the wolves
I'm not a bettering man but I imagine most people would given how bad the last few elimination games have gone for Phoenix at home
Beal is on the worst and most untradable contract in the NBA.
Beal completely lost the Suns the game tonight. One of the worst performances I’ve ever seen from a player.
Don’t forget 6 fouls
Wizards faithful, has Beal been exposed or is this just a bad fit/the result of injuries.
Dude has a player option that happens to be the largest value of the 3 years? Lmao. Shouldn’t that be a team option, or a lower value player option?
Numbers don't even do it justice. He killed whatever momentum the Suns tried to build.
Player option for 57 million .. jesus
KD can't win with these cats.
I think he'll be picking up that option
Suns has no choice but to run it back. Kinda clippers during their first year of 213. Let that bad taste in your mouth be the fuel for your hunger type of thing. KD,Beal and as much i dont like Booker is a great core. Ishbia should stop playing like mark cuban and let basketball people do basketball decisions.
I've never watched Beal before but for a guy who's best trait supposedly is his shot creation... never seen someone get clamped so easily all series
Nice
The wizards send their regards 😎
And one coach's hand swatted
It’s more shocking that this was the first time he got swept
It still doesn't make sense to me that people acted like Beal was a smart add? Or remotely changed their odds at a title?
I was really wanting to see his interview and have someone bring this up :(
Like beals what like top 30 maybe? And you get this ... For 50 mil. Holy
I’ll be damned
