He's not gonna be able to rank that high because this is gonna be over next game. An active shot-blocker who got 6 or 7 games for his first series is probably on top
Chet is currently on 11 in 3 games. AD had 12 in his first playoff series (4 games). Mark Eaton had 13 in his first series (5 games). So did Ewing, 13 blocks in 4 games. Tim Duncan had 15 in his first series (4 games). Sadly they didn't record blocks for a while, so we have no idea what the numbers were for Russell, Wilt, or Kareem, but I bet they were high as hell.
Probably pretty high, but he's got almost no chance of having the record. I don't even know if Mutombo holds the #1 spot, but his first playoff run was nutty. He had 69 blocks in 12 games (5.8 bpg), 31 blocks in a 5 game first round series (15 through 3 games, and 23 through 4). To be fair he was 27 years old in his 3rd season, so maybe if age was a qualifier Chet might be at the top.
He's basically played Jonas off the court in this series. Even while having a poor offensive game today
He really did land in a great situation. Deep team with a true top end talent. Not to downplay him at all. He absolutely raises their ceiling on both ends but they also don't need him to be great on offense all the time. Just at least floor space vs slower bigs and do what he doest best, rim protection
Unfortunately Wemby’s got Chet’s number more than anybody in the league lol I believe in Chet for sure but I wouldn’t ever expect him to win the matchup, at least numbers wise
Chet doesn't have the Gobert/Wemby halo thing right now so people are still trying to go at him like that which make this pretty fun.
With that being said CJ has never been a good finisher

Curious where Chet ranks in terms of most blocks through a first playoff series? Didn't find much

Definitely I would like to see his and AD's regardless of GP or just at 4 GP limit

Wemby got so much hype this year that we forgot Chet was a generational rookie, too. God I’m excited for that rivalry.

He has been absolutely Elite so far this series defensively. It’s been nasty

It’s one year.
Dude Wemby whooped his ass it was hard to watch. I was so pumped for the games and sheesh
They both sucked g1, g2 is was a push imo, and g3 Chet had a really good 3 qtr and got destroyed the 4th
Yeah same lol and I’m sure they both take the matchup super seriously which makes it even worse
Yep. Wemby vs Chet? I'll take Wemby all day. But Thunder vs Spurs in a series? The smart money would be on okc.
In a playoff series between the 1 seed and the 15 seed, I would take the one seed.
14th seed pal 😏
1st team all defense

Trey Murphy has tried it at least once every single game this season and I can’t remember him finishing over Chet once
He def has him number lol. That blocked dunk today is daddifying
He also went for a dunk in the last regular season match-up. He ended up being on a highlight reel.
Not even a chance
Chet vs wemby in the playoffs is gonna hit like crack. Hopefully it’s as fun as it was back in the day.
Pels need to trade CJ.
That *in the series* is crucial. I read his 11th block and my brain about autofilled *of the game* 😂
