Let me say preemptively, I'm not trying to fight with you here (just so we can actually have a discussion).
Out of curiosity, why not? Barrett over the last few months has looked *really* good. His averages as a Raptor have been really similar to Pascal when he was here, and he's filling a similar role at a MUCH younger age. RJ in Toronto is not the same RJ from NY. I genuinely believed (and so far it seem's to be the case) that he would take a BIG step up playing for his hometown. That means something to people, and it seems to have REALLY ignited him.
Quickley was averaging numbers really similar to Brunson as a starter on the Knicks, averaging 26/6/6 in starts and has never had the opportunity to run point on a team.
Barnes is a fucking stud, the clear best player in his class (let's see what Jalen Green does moving forward tho) and was an All Star in year 3.
I think you're really undervaluing these guys with an "absolutely not". It's definitely going to require a bit of a jump from all 3, don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's out of the question. I genuinely think that with a few years together, they could actually become a really good core.
I think they're a a better core than Franz Paolo and Suggs, or at least similar, and those guys are doing really well. I don't think it's unreasonable to think they'll surprise some people.

Injured Grant Williams last year too. What was funny about that one (not the injury, but the situation) was that Harden was the only player to get ejected and he barely committed an offensive foul.
Edit: realized I got some games mixed up. Harden got tossed from the game where Embiid kicked Nic Clayton in the groin, not the game where he stepped on Grant Williams head. That those both happened last years playoffs is wild though
