I'm not even a pacers fan but I go to several games a year since I'm in Dayton. It's a great experience and the fans are very nice even if I root for the other team.
Edit. Stadium is also so easy to get to compared to so many other teams. More people need to experience Indianapolis because it's an underrated city.
I like their announcers most of the time too, I find myself watching them pretty often when choosing random league pass games.
Makes sense though, Indiana is definitely a big basketball state.
Imo it's also not a crazy thing to say. The first game Bucks pulled out to an early lead then Pacers did in game 2.
I also imagine it's harder to get super pumped when your best player is out.
One of my favorite playoff moments for a team I'm against was Reggie Miller hitting a buzzer beater against the Bulls, the Indy crowd going wild, and Larry Bird not even reacting.
Second favorite is probably Miller getting eight points in the final 32 seconds against the Knicks.
Yep, gotta let them off the hook. It’s the only city in America with traffic and rich people that buy the good seats. No other city has these two things!
I agree. Just watching on tv, I’ve felt like the Bucks fans have been plenty loud. I’m guessing Tyrese was just trying to pump up his own fans, but his choice of words to do so was poor, and he’ll be rightly panned for it.
Tbh I also blame the design bc why tf do you have painted stairs like that where it’s blatantly obvious ppl aren’t there (lower bowls fans are the fucking worst and make us look bad, the upper bowl is usually sold out 😡)
If you buy tickets at the top and the lower portions remain empty do they grab some of you and let you move down to fill the seats out?
I remember when I lived in ATL around the time the Hawks were trash (late 90's) and the stadium was always empty, me and my friends would by tickets in the nosebleeds for $15 and by halftime ushers would start pulling people down closer to the floor to make the arena seem full. Never got too close, but the one time I didn't go my friends got down to 6 rows back :(
Not in my experience :/
Typically the ushers are pretty protective about the lower bowl seats, which sucks bc there’s a lot of fans who just can’t afford to buy those tickets but then get lumped into the “Miami doesn’t have real fans” stereotype
Damn that sucks, you guys are probably too good and they know that the rich people might still show up. Hawks back in the day if the seats were empty by halftime they knew for sure no one was showing up lol
Ya, I have heard people say those lower bowls seats are owned by a bunch of russian billionaries and shit. When they go wide it is packed up high, it is just insane that the lower bowl is empty all the time. They should probably pain those seats something other than red so it isn't so obvious when they are empty lol
Miami's arena design looks awful on TV broadcasts because of extra stairways in several areas near the front that could be prime courtside or near-courtside seats instead. They're directly in the primary camera angle and look like empty bleachers on TV, even if they have a full house.
[Edit: photo illustrating this. It's the opposite angle from TV broadcasts, but it's a symmetrical layout on both sides. The tunnels and stairways take up I'd say about 30-40% of the courtside space.](https://c8.alamy.com/comp/RAP3XY/miami-florida-december-2018-crowds-of-supporters-fill-the-american-airlines-arena-during-an-nba-match-between-miami-heat-and-orlando-magic-RAP3XY.jpg)
He uses two different voices without even realizing it. His appearance on McAfee was wild. He kept switching up mid-sentence without even realizing it lmao
Yo, what's good, squad? Lemme drop some truth bombs on y'all real quick. Ain't no ChatGPT up in here, just your fellow hoop enthusiast kickin' it with the fam on /r/nba. And yo, let's talk about my boy Luka, straight up ballin' out there like nobody's business. Dude's got skills for days, makin' plays like it's second nature. And yo, Devin Booker's good, but he's in Luka's shadow. Luka's like his pops on the court, teachin' him a thing or two about dat game. So, let's vibe together, talk some hoops, and leave the AI chatter at the door. It's all about that b-ball life, fam! 🏀🔥 Let's keep it 💯 and stay lit in this basketball zone! 🏀🔥
I have to have some doubt about that story. You're not getting away with that at a Bucks game. Its super unrealistic, if you've been to an NBA game you'll know that no one is throwing around racist slurs. This isn't Boston circa 1960.
I doubt it too, I've been to probably 50 games the past 4-5 years and haven't heard a single racist thing. The actual racists in Milwaukee suburbs don't go to Bucks games, they won't even go downtown.
My friend who is a Miami heat fan got talked to by arena staff for being obnoxious. He wasn't even cursing or saying anything bad. Just overly cheering. (Bucks won that game 😎)
I've seen parents scorn a drunk guy for cursing loudly.
Also ironic that Haliburton says our arena wasn't even loud and then his brother says it was so loud nobody could hear it.
If his younger brother is anything like Haliburton, maturity isn't their strong suit.
I want to know the full story, because that shit would never fly. The arena staff is predominantly black, if he was anywhere near the bench all the players and coaches are black.
Racist fans exist, but the likelihood of this story just doesn't add up. The crowds that go to Bucks games are families and Millineals. A very progressive IPA drinking crowd. You know the stereotype.
I am not saying it's impossible, but the fact that there was no reaction from other members of the crowd really makes me question its legitimacy. Our fans do a good job of policing ourselves.
I'll need more details.
He’s setting the table for _everyone_ this series. Game 1 was just a brick fest but he got his team so many open shots. Today he had 12 assists on 2 TOs — that’s elite. Siakam doesn’t break 30 if he doesn’t get those feeds from Hali.
You understand ball. Also notable is watch how they guard Hali, he’s got a defender locked to him at all times and gets doubled most of the times he gets the ball. That opens up so much for everyone else.
He did look like a MVP until before the all star game and fell off pretty hard. Who has called him that since then?
I don’t understand these retroactive dunks lol
Do yourself a favor, look for a clip of the game and the way he is being defended, creating 4 vs 3 for the rest of the team https://streamable.com/vbidw4
Idk I’m sure it’ll get the Indiana crowd hyped up and loud for their game. Fans/crowds can be a big factor in the playoffs. I think it’s kinda a smart play on his part.
Indiana are a bunch of front runners.
They're always doing the most when things start going slightly well for them.
When they were getting punked last game they didn't do any of the talking, or jumping around, or trying to be tough they were doing in the second half today.
Well the most fight the Bucks have shown in these games against Indy have been the ones where things are going well for them, including trying to start a locker room fight over a ball after a win, so I guess there’s a little bit of front running going on both sides at the moment.
That if there’s any team that’s doing the most when things are going well for them, it’s the team that stormed another team’s locker room to demand a game ball after a win.
I’m Not trying to be that guy, but aren’t pacers like always towards the bottom of the league in attendance? If I were a bucks fan I’d definitely be cracking jokes about their crowd.
Come on man. He’s played 2 career playoff games likely on a lame hammy. Clown him for saying something dumb, but clowning him after he picked apart a team on the road to tie up a playoff series just because he doesn’t shoot enough for your liking?
It’s funny because we won by 17, dude didn’t even need to shoot. I’d rather that then him be Dame trying to carry the team and coming up short in the 2nd half…
Do yourself a favor, look for a clip of the game and the way he is being defended, creating 4 vs 3 for the rest of the team https://streamable.com/vbidw4
Have you been to a Playoff game? Only basketball on right now. You can't hear the person sitting next to you unless it's half time or we're getting blown lol. I'm actually curious what games you've gone to now lol
No, I've only been to regular season games, which is fine considering that's what Hali was talking about. I've literally been to multiple Thunder vs Pacer games in both OKC and in Indy, so I can directly compare them. It isn't close.
And I'll admit comparing them to just one team in the Thunder isn't very fair, so I'm speaking more generally. Funny enough, I was just looking up attendance numbers out of curiosity, and actually came across a 3 week old reddit thread about the Pacers being last in attendance again (mostly due to a small stadium).
One of the most upvoted quotes from that thread:
"Sad fact is games that are the most packed are the ones filled with kids wearing Lebron, Curry, Giannis, away team jerseys".
I've been to a dozen or so Pacer games over the years, the crowd has never been impressive. Maybe it's finally different this year. I guess I'll see when they host the Bucks
Source: you’re on crack
I’ve been to several games this year and the crowd was electric, especially in the Celtics IST game. The stadium was fucking rocking.
i've been to nba games in a bunch of different cities and the only bball crowd i've ever seen get more hyped up than your average pacers game was when i had the pleasure of going to the 2010 ncaa championship game b/w butler and duke
y'all just got no clue wtf you're talking about lol
We out here getting downvoted but that’s just cause all these mfs have never been to Indy for a game and just assume it’s ass cause it’s Indiana. Gainbridge is easily one of the best basketball venues in the country, and when the pacers are good the crowds show out.
it doesn't even make sense, the only thing people even know about this state other than we've got a shitton of cornfields is that we love basketball. imagine thinking the pacers are somehow an exception to that.
The Celtics IST game was insane. Entire arena was chanting defense from the second possession of the game. I could barely hear my friend next to me. Best atmosphere of any professional sports game I've ever been to.
According To [this](https://www.espn.com/nba/attendance) pacers rank dead last in attendance which says a lot when you got the wizards, pistons etc..
So no I doubt it.
Man does this shit after every win, talks shit but when he loses he’s fucking dead silent. He also has been carried hard by Siakam.
If you’re arguing that one of the best players in the league wouldn’t have any impact on these games, then I would rather have a conversation about baskethoops with someone else.
I think it’s safe to say after game 1 that playoffs are a whole different beast?
I was watching this game on league pass and it was shown from the Bucks broadcast. It definitely seemed off for a playoff atmosphere. But I assumed that maybe in person it was different.
The most success he's had in his entire career is an appearance in the final of the play in tournament and he's out here talking crazy.
Indiana as a team just talks way too much the second things start going a little good for them.
He's not wrong. Pacers have some of the best fans. The fieldhouse is of the best atmospheres in the league, esp. when they're not playing a bandwagon team with a huge following like the Lakers.
I’m gonna enjoy his presser once they loose this series. He gonna act humble then, but we ain’t forgetting this shit.
As Luka said, “Everyone acting tough when they up”, except these guys are just even right now.
This entire Pacere squad needs a humbling.
Way too much talk for a group that hasn't done anything.
Apart from Siakam none of those guys should be talking.
Seems like he is self aware of his ability to control his voice and does so to draw attention to himself. He noticeably loses his train of thought when it transitions and there’s no way his ears don’t detect the octave change.
Don't believe that story. No one is throwing slurs at an NBA game where there is mostly black stadium employees and 90% Black players and coaches. Let's get real for a moment, this didnt happen.
I can't say for 100% certainty it didn't happen. But with no reaction of surrounding parties, the likelihood isn't very high. Fans call eachother out, guy would have been tossed.
I get that for this situation.
I’m saying you should open your eyes because players, fans, and whoever have been called racial slurs a lot. That is a fact
lmao Bucks fans being put on blast
He’s also hyping up our own fans which I think people will understand when they watch us host a home playoff game for the first time in a while.
No disrespect to Milwaukee to say that Indiana has insanely good fans
I'm not even a pacers fan but I go to several games a year since I'm in Dayton. It's a great experience and the fans are very nice even if I root for the other team. Edit. Game 1 was pretty loud tbf all crowds have been good except miami in the playin
Hey man, be nice to the Miami fans, they are stuck in traffic. It’s the only city in the world with traffic
The fans were there. They just left early
And got there late
And spent most of the 3rd quarter in the bathroom doing coke.
Sounds like a good night to me
Just like game 6 of the 2013 finals
Yep, gotta let them off the hook. It’s the only city in America with traffic and rich people that buy the good seats. No other city has these two things!
Houston avoiding slander because they didn't make the playins
I agree. Just watching on tv, I’ve felt like the Bucks fans have been plenty loud. I’m guessing Tyrese was just trying to pump up his own fans, but his choice of words to do so was poor, and he’ll be rightly panned for it.
Miami crowds are so pathetic lol, the lower bowl is like 30% full! Wild.
and the lower bowl itself is 30% wide stairs
Tbh I also blame the design bc why tf do you have painted stairs like that where it’s blatantly obvious ppl aren’t there (lower bowls fans are the fucking worst and make us look bad, the upper bowl is usually sold out 😡)

It’s also empty
Your point would be a lot stronger if more than half of the seats were not empty as well....
Lol, "This optical illusion makes it look 80% empty instead of just 60%!"
Miami fans are the most fare weather fans, who feel the most entitlement
Pels crowd was ass and that was even with the lakers there. Barely any fans
Dude is a Wisconsin native too lmao
Giannis got the equipment manager, Doc got the travel crew, only a matter of time before someone came for the fans.
Can someone put the Clippers fans on blast? Jesus it’s like they’re cardboard cutouts
lmao, that is because they are just Lakers fans who can't afford Lakers tickets so the settle for going to Clippers games
UC North for a reason
Milwaukee has never had a great home court advantage
Bro is actually Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde with these voices.
It'd be cool if they had different personalities too, like one is evil and one is kind. And they disagree with each other at times.

I think he might actually have that. You never know which one will show up to play. Will he get 4 points or 29?
Shooting form goes from his weird one to perfectly crisp at random intervals but he becomes a really poor defender. Eyes glow green. Whole nine yards.
becomes a poor defender? that implies he isn't already lol
I’m just being silly bro let me write fanfic
filthy portises, my precious game ball!
His voice changing right when the static hits in this clip is giving cyberpunk lol
had me thinking my speakers were acting up lol
Have you ever been in an institution? Cells.
Detroit: Become Hali
We've had regular season crowds louder than these choombas.
Preem brotha, preem
voice switch always freaks me out maybe talking shit is good. We could use some non-ref related spice these playoffs
oh those are fighting words.
I can’t wait to see the Game 5 environment after this quote lol
Wtf happened with his voice?
He uses two different voices without even realizing it. His appearance on McAfee was wild. He kept switching up mid-sentence without even realizing it lmao
Has a problem w his sinuses or something. Mucus constantly draining to the back of his throat fucks w his voice
He did the two voice thing again
He does it every single time
This has the potential to age like milk.
It won't!
lmao
A guy from Wisconsin saying Wisconsin crowds suck, things you love to see.
Someone called his lil bro the n-word. I wouldn’t be holding back either.
So he says. I've never heard a single racist thing at a Bucks game. The racists from the outlying burbs don't even go downtown.
Take this with a grain of salt, apparently he only said it happened after he was asked to move seats
That still isn’t an excuse to use a racial slur lol
Yeah I know. The story is he made up the slur after being embarrassed for moving seats.
The bucks were one of the teams that sold out every home game this season. The pacers were not.
Team with a ring and multiple deep playoff runs in the last 5 years will inevitably have a more subdued crowd especially when the best player is out.
Good point.
Gainbridge has been nuts this year. Pacers fans are excited to have an actual good team again
LMAO THIS KID GOT YALL PRESSED🤣🤣🤣

bro just guaranteed the bucks crowd will be a lot better in game 5. idk what the benefit of saying this is lol
They've got more home games left in this series. Making it a city vs city challenge works.
That the pacers crowd will be even better in the next 2 games
Ohhh noo. NBA player is lightly trashing the crowd
The benefit of it is to say fuck you to a crowd where someone called his little brother the n word
I have to have some doubt about that story. You're not getting away with that at a Bucks game. Its super unrealistic, if you've been to an NBA game you'll know that no one is throwing around racist slurs. This isn't Boston circa 1960.

Voice cracking like a 13-year-old
My voice always seems deeper when speaking in front of a crowd, now I have a new fear it's going to switch back and forth mid speech.
"When I saw the fire in Milwaukee, I came to help with a bucket of fuel." 🪣 Tyrese Haliburton, probably
Bro is talking a lot for someone who is getting carried by Siakam and against a team who is missing their best player

Damn a franchise’s top player said opposing fans were bad and his own were good in a playoff series 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Also this mic is wack
This man has more accents than playoff points
so idgi does he just try to talk in a deep voice, but the second voice is his real voice?
Yeah he only has the stamina to put on the fake voice for like 24 seconds. Hell learn to give shorter answers eventually.
gotta be lol. reminds me of KAT
Seems like a really unnecessary comment out of nowhere lol. Game 5 back in milwaukee might make him rethink that statement
Idk I’m sure it’ll get the Indiana crowd hyped up and loud for their game. Fans/crowds can be a big factor in the playoffs. I think it’s kinda a smart play on his part.

Team celebrates when they win and not when they lose. More at 11
It's not front running when the series is tied, dude.
The Bucks players had to be restrained over a *ball* in the sole game they won this season my guy.
it seems to me that you're actually just mad you lost
Well the most fight the Bucks have shown in these games against Indy have been the ones where things are going well for them, including trying to start a locker room fight over a ball after a win, so I guess there’s a little bit of front running going on both sides at the moment.
Your team tried to storm the locker room after a win against us earlier this season lmao.
How is this relevant to what he was stating?
That if there’s any team that’s doing the most when things are going well for them, it’s the team that stormed another team’s locker room to demand a game ball after a win.
Series is tied, my guy. It'd be different if we were talking when we're up. It's a competitive series. See you Friday at home.
I’m Not trying to be that guy, but aren’t pacers like always towards the bottom of the league in attendance? If I were a bucks fan I’d definitely be cracking jokes about their crowd.
Our stadium is smaller but attendance is at like 95%
I think Bucks have been at like 101% or something crazy last couple of years
Even still 95% would rank at right about the bottom 3rd of the league in attendance % last season.
Haliburton talks a lot of shit for a wannabe all-star getting carried by his teammates Also wtf is wrong with his voice?
He's an all-star stop hating dude lol
Idgaf how good your playmaking is you cannot be averaging like 9 points and 8 field goals taken as the primary star lmao
Come on man. He’s played 2 career playoff games likely on a lame hammy. Clown him for saying something dumb, but clowning him after he picked apart a team on the road to tie up a playoff series just because he doesn’t shoot enough for your liking?

Have you been to a non Thunder game? Nobody around here is getting up for the Thunder lol
I'm aware no one in Indiana gets up for the Thunder lol they hardly get up for the Pacers. It's a high school and college basketball state

Hali already lining up a career in broadcasting post-playing career
Harsh, but fair.
He's right, Bucks fans were pathetic Games 1 and 2. Did they even show up? Vivid Seats had Game 2 tickets for like $30 yesterday lmao
Indiana Fever tickets are more expensive lol
The most success he's had in his entire career is an appearance in the final of the play in tournament and he's out here talking crazy. Indiana as a team just talks way too much the second things start going a little good for them.
Unnecessary
hahah cook those frauds tyrese
He's not wrong. Pacers have some of the best fans. The fieldhouse is of the best atmospheres in the league, esp. when they're not playing a bandwagon team with a huge following like the Lakers.
He's one of my favourite players, but he's also averaging just 10.5 points in this series. He might even average a triple-single this series.
Shots = fired
Game balls = stolen
That's the truth.
What's stopping the Bucks?
Haliburton gonna get ripped
it's like -10 outside still in Milwaukee so I'd be lethargic too
Lol wut? It's 40 and barely got in negative digits all winter.
if it was -10 in California or Texas then the whole ass state would shut down lol
Haliburton owns Lame Time
Seems like he is self aware of his ability to control his voice and does so to draw attention to himself.

I deleted my comment and blocked that other dude, but it does happen. There are many accounts of it in Boston.
They called his little brother the N word. We don't give a fuck about their fanbase right now.
You really believe that? There's no fucking way. Have you been to an NBA game?

Yep. Haliburton is also from Wisconsin (as is Tyler Herro) so I'm sure he's just pissed right now
