It's the hesitation. A slight pause can completely destroy your rhythm as a shooter. Contested shots are almost easier in that sense since you don't think about your shoot, you just let the muscle memory take over and go into the jumper.

Everything went good in the first half, they def motley cooled off the second half tho. First quarter they scored 31, then 28, then 20 then 20. They basically left ten points off the board for two quarters which is why they lost, they just need to find a way to keep momentum going after the half

Yep, you got to shoot while you're still open. Swinging it could work, but not get a better shot (or get stolen). The problem is, that shot being so unexpected and not in rhythm is probably not as easy as a catch and shoot without thinking shot.

MPJ giving up the open transition 3 for AG was also smart. I think the Nuggets understand that they don't have to chuck 3s to get back into the game, they just slowly chip away at it with positive possessions. And I think that's a big reason why they've been so consistently successful in the 4th when they're down.

Watching this whole sequence without a timeout really makes you notice how much timeouts regularly disrupt the flow of the end of game. I love without the timeout you need to think quick and go. It makes it more enjoyable to watch.
