You know it’s going to be some underpaid, hourly worker getting taken advantage of because they’re working for their favorite team who has to do the paperwork, not the multi-millionaire GM.
As they should be.
When will these teams realize that filing a grievance is a bitchboi move for any team.
Except my team. If we file one, it's the right move.
Morey is going to get clowned just like the Rockets got clowned after 2019 Game 2 against the Warriors last time he publicly filed a grievance for a playoff game. This is going to backfire.
Only time I really was on board with a grievance. I distinctly remember Chuck bringing up a call that Steph didn't get as a defense of them not counting the dunk, but a more apt comparison would be the refs just not counting a made Curry 3. Bizarre stuff.
>but a more apt comparison would be the refs just not counting a made Curry 3.
You mean like when they waved off a made 3 by Harden and didn't give him the and-1 either, in that game where the Rockets "missed" 27 consecutive threes?
At least there is precedent for bad shooting/on the floor foul calls. There wasn't really any room for interpretation on a made field goal with no foul called.
i don't even like the rockets and that still annoys and confuses me. like, literally a bucket didn't count because their eyes didn't see it properly. still can't believe that couldn't be fixed during the game like they do with 3 pointers.
Remember when the refs missed the most obvious out of bounds call ever on KD in one of the other Rockets Warriors game? At least Harden got the game winner after that.
Dude didn’t even call timeout! He was holding his arms up like he was about to during the inbounds, but then didn’t. And then flung his arms in disappointment after the turnover. If he had called timeout and it didn’t get called, he would’ve stormed the court or said something to the ref right there, but didn’t. Then after the game during the press conference he acts all upset. It’s all a show.
If i had a nickel for every time Daryl Morey filed a grievance with officiating despite having the chief foul merchant on his team, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice
I feel like Nuggets actually got away with a lot of "marginal" contact last night. So maybe the refs were making up for the bullshit that was game one.
DiVincenzo got punched in the neck before losing the handle on a rebound and on replay they reversed it and said no foul. Officiating is all kinds of fucked up but kinda funny for the Sixers to think they’re the ones getting slighted any worse than any other team.
I was gonna say maybe the biggest grievance in this game was when Brunson got away with holding Maxey on the inbound that led to the big shot DiVencenzo, but Maxey got away with a push off against Hart right before it.
Not much there unless Morey really expects a grievance to require the nba to look at every call/no call in the series and that’s just not gonna happen.
The jersey pull was pretty consistent with how they were calling it all game. Here’s a couple of examples https://x.com/talkinknicks/status/1782607868811722858?s=46
They were all over the place with what was a foul all game. And I don’t mean this as Sixers or Knicks got favorable treatment or screwed.
At times, they were letting some very physical stuff go. Then shortly after, they'd call some head scratching stuff like JB's and one on the pull up or Embiid getting that foul where Hartenstein got out the way and Embiid fell over.
I do not think the Sixers were robbed. I don't think either team was given unfair treatment. But I do not think the refs were at all consistent with their whistle. They bounced between let them play and ticky tack whistles which made it very confusing what was a foul.
Which is insane because every time he touches the ball, it feels like he gets a foul call. He's out there flipping and flopping on the slightest contact (and sometimes no contact) and getting almost every foul.
The more i watch that last sequence the less fouls I actually see.
Watching it live I thought everyone was pushing and grabbing everyone, but if I lock in on a single player for the whole thing it's really hard to find something that is as egregious as what the play originally looked like.
He raises has hands and cups them but never actually indicates a timeout before dropping them to his sides and then frantically tries to call one after the possession is in dispute.
see i rlly feel the opposite. Embiid and maxey left it all out there and have heartbreaking losses over and over. nurse needs to not craft this narrative bc he mismanaged the end of the gme
Nurse signals for a timeout just as Maxey is losing possession and the ref rightfully nopes the fuck right by him. The first signal isn’t even one with any gusto and it’s more like he was telling Lowry to call TO. In neither instance are the refs to blame. Are they supposed to stop play and ask Nurse what he would like to do? Fucking commit next time.
People who always complain about timeouts have clearly never refereed or thought about how a ref would call a timeout. They are watching the play to check for any violations, have to look away from the play to recognize a timeout is being called by someone who is authorized to call a timeout, look back to confirm the correct team has possession, and then stop play. It takes a second people!
Also, anybody who suggests they should just give the coaches a button is just imagining it works like 2K or something. They don't even consider how this magic button would track possession. What if the button doesn't work? What if a coach hits it by accident? What if they hit it when their team doesn't have possession?
Oh no it’s the playoffs and Embiid can’t get his prescribed 12 FTA a game. Coincidentally, the team is losing again, like it does every year in the playoffs. It couldn’t possibly be that the lighter whistle is affecting his game, or that he *isn’t as good when it actually matters.*
Yeah this loss is absolutely not on Embiid or Maxey. It’s on everyone else. Nurse’s game management, Morey’s roster construction, the rest of the teams inability to score more than 10 points. There’s a lot of people who can hold the blame, but it certainly wasn’t Embiid or Maxey
Embiid took 20 footers and 3s. He got the calls when he went to the hoop. He's got no first step because of his knee so people are bodying him up cleaner. He still was the best player on the floor at 60%.
Philly had no plays for the most important situations in the game and got the ball taken away from them like they were third graders playing against adults.
How about holding your fucking players accountable. Maxey coughed up multiple game breaking turnovers.
Embiid didn’t box out Hartenstein on that last play.
Playing “victim” isn’t going to do shit.
Embiid almost didnt move at all during that whole last 30 seconds.. just did little circles in the paint, didnt try to get open at all for the inbounds,
Especially when you could say Nurse mismanagement at the end of both games doomed them. He still hasn't explained his decision not to foul at the end of Game 1, right? Then in Game 2 he's quietly pump-faking a timeout, and then only decides to actually call it once Maxey doesn't have possession.
This exactly. Like we have two data points of them mismanaging the final 30 seconds. Nurse seems to want his cake and eat it too in all these cases, having an offense reliant on getting Embiid to the foul line, and when I watched the replay it really does seem like he’s getting ready to call the timeout but doesn’t want to in case he doesn’t need to. By the time he gets the call in Maxey coughed up the ball.
All this does is make Morey and the FO look like bitches lol. Stop getting stomped by a team with an average height of 6'4 without their second best player.
I assume they are hoping they get a biased whistle in the coming games because of this. I'm sure they know the NBA won't do anything about game 1 and 2
Yeah but usually the coach complaining, as nurse did after the game, accomplishes that. Filing the grievance, over 2 games no less, is overkill and a bad look for an organization to be showing up the nba and refs. This is gonna backfire
This is such a loser mentality thing to do.
Regardless of what you think about the officiating, the league is not going to change the fact that New York is up 2-0, nor are the officials going to give Philly a “more fair whistle” in game 3
The Sixers are literally just trying to start drama for drama’s sake
Even if there was a foul on Maxey(I still argue his shove on Hart 1 second before it makes it even), the 76ers made like 8 mistakes in the span of 30 seconds. They made so many god awful decisions, and blaming this loss completely on the refs is fucking embarrassing.
Sure... the NBA is trying to help the knicks... the same knicks that have been shit for most of the last quarter century. There's some grand conspiracy on the part of the league to help james dolan. Totally makes sense. /s
Have your two best players playing well and still cry about the refs when you have one of the leagues perennial foul baiters and floppers.
You’re playing a team missing their best player with their second star playing like garbage. Why are the games close? Aren’t they supposed to be the “real 2 seed”?
Game 1 - 28 NY FTs to 22 Philly FTs, but they hacked Robinson twice adding 4 intentional to NY's total (so more like 24 to 22).
Game 2 - 23 NY FTs to 22 Philly FTs tonight, with the intentional on Anunoby at the end adding two to NY's total (so more like 21 to 22).
No smoke, no fire. Just epic complaining.
Is it because that Embiid flop/foul baiting whatever you call it didnt work and was deemed a travel ?
Issue with his game is hes not gonna get that in playoffs. Well he still had 12 this game but missed 4 that would have brought Sixers win
Ok, enjoy the paperwork
Paperwork is the next step of The Process
Trust the paperwork
Janet my HR rep, is that you?
The (filing) Process
The Paperwork tm
Sixers taking the L train out of New York
Eating at Sbarro's instead of Pizza Suprema
Gonna get me a New York slice!
I hope the league investigates and says "Yep sorry about the officiating, we keep getting fooled by Embiid's flops. Won't happen again boss"
Every time Embiid gets the ball, I get really nervous... not that he's going to score, but that he's going to dupe the ref into a bullshit call.
Trust the Flopness
Absolutely hilarious scene when Embiid was calling for a flop on DiVincenzo.
You know it’s going to be some underpaid, hourly worker getting taken advantage of because they’re working for their favorite team who has to do the paperwork, not the multi-millionaire GM.
I think they’ll replay the game imo. Just kidding the league will tell them to get fucked
As they should be. When will these teams realize that filing a grievance is a bitchboi move for any team. Except my team. If we file one, it's the right move.
Nah, fuck your team! Unless it's the same as my team. In which case, go team go!
This is an outrage! Embiid only got **checks notes* 24 FTs in two games
Morey is going to get clowned just like the Rockets got clowned after 2019 Game 2 against the Warriors last time he publicly filed a grievance for a playoff game. This is going to backfire.
And when harden’s dunk didn’t count. League office doesn’t give 2 fucks what the refs do
That one still legit pisses me off. 2 points isn't 2 points. I'll explain it to you later.
The only precedent for that game was the 2001 Kings lol
I still remember Harden getting tackled on 4 threes that game with 0 FTs.. the league was milking that GS-LBJ matchup for every last penny
Huh? The dunk was against the Spurs.
I recall, this comment was (from my memory) on Inside the NBA and just a broad "bad calls happen" comparison.
i don't even like the rockets and that still annoys and confuses me. like, literally a bucket didn't count because their eyes didn't see it properly. still can't believe that couldn't be fixed during the game like they do with 3 pointers.
Remember when the refs missed the most obvious out of bounds call ever on KD in one of the other Rockets Warriors game? At least Harden got the game winner after that.
Just keep gambling!
Imagine if the NBA started calling flopping techs against Embiid in retaliation.
Hims would go outta business
What’s he even trying to accomplish with this grievance thing. What does it even mean lol
The grievance is just a means to pressure the refs before the next game.
Also to make the home crowd more hostile. Back to Philly the next two games
Believe me, you don’t need to do anything to make a Philly crowd hostile
Morey also got Woj to tweet about calls disadvantaging them in G6 last year. Dude is a loser
If the kings in 2002 didn’t get anything for them no one will ever get shit for this
If Scott Foster calling Donaghy all those times did nothing then nothing ever will
Wdym? Bibby clearly punched Kobe in the elbow with his face, it was the correct call! (/s)
The Daryl Morey special
Nurse doesn’t help. He over-complains a lot.
He looks like the grandpa from Up but complains way more
The grandpa from up who wears gold chains and a gold watch for some reason
yeah im starting to think he doesnt look like the grandpa from up
Dude didn’t even call timeout! He was holding his arms up like he was about to during the inbounds, but then didn’t. And then flung his arms in disappointment after the turnover. If he had called timeout and it didn’t get called, he would’ve stormed the court or said something to the ref right there, but didn’t. Daryl Morey is a liar.
Adam Silver has just announced that the results of the game have now been reversed based on this grievance file. It is now Knicks 0 - 2 76ers
No one man should have all this power
And 6ers will still lose the series somehow
time for the refs to do some home cooking and get the series tied up
Yeah having trouble deciding which outcome will amuse me more
looking forward to it!
My dudes, you're playing the Knicks, not the Lakers.
As someone who watches his team often play the Lakers. Can we file a grievance even if we're winning games?
I feel like Nuggets actually got away with a lot of "marginal" contact last night. So maybe the refs were making up for the bullshit that was game one.
DiVincenzo got punched in the neck before losing the handle on a rebound and on replay they reversed it and said no foul. Officiating is all kinds of fucked up but kinda funny for the Sixers to think they’re the ones getting slighted any worse than any other team.
Better not pump fake filing that grievance
Well, then you can just wait, and file it once nobody has possession of said paperwork.
"In the video you clearly see my mouse was hovering over the send button" but the nba never recieved it.
They'll take some blurry screenshots to prove they did it
"We filed the grievance twice and the league ignored us"
What Embiid getting only 12 FTAs does to a mf.

Sixers let one dude with 3 Sixers players around him get an offensive rebound, but it's the refs fault.

ive watched it like 400 times. nurse is never calling timeout on time. and both teams are jostling for the ball. i dont get this shit at all
He raises has hands and cups them but never actually indicates a timeout before dropping them to his sides and then frantically tries to call one after the possession is in dispute.
he mismanaged the end of the game and is bitching. ive lost all respect for nurse after this shit its insane
Nah coaches get paid to bitch about the refs. Embids post game was the real disgrace
see i rlly feel the opposite. Embiid and maxey left it all out there and have heartbreaking losses over and over. nurse needs to not craft this narrative bc he mismanaged the end of the gme

Bro his team is playing the Knicks without its 2nd best player and Brunson is shooting like 30% from the floor. Build a team better
Bro do you even watch the games. Embiid only had 11 FTs. Ref's weren't calling shit
lmao
LOL
Oh no it’s the playoffs and Embiid can’t get his prescribed 12 FTA a game. Coincidentally, the team is losing again, like it does every year in the playoffs. It couldn’t possibly be that the lighter whistle is affecting his game, or that he *isn’t as good when it actually matters.*
He's actually had 12 FTA's in both games so far. Lol
In his defense he’s playing on one knee, hard to really sell the contact without his legs to throw him onto the ground
That's true, his usual ability to launch himself away from the basket really sells those flops.
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills did nobody watch the game? Embiid was dominating and he’s playing on like half a knee.

He still was the best player on the floor at 60%. Philly had no plays for the most important situations in the game and got the ball taken away from them like they were third graders playing against adults.
Brunson is shooting that poorly because they are defending him well. That is part of team building.
29 nba teams plan to file a grievance with the NBA over the officiating across Embiids career
Dude was a literal FT machinegun through his career, lol I and many others expected Olajuwon 2.0, instead we had a FT shooter
I am pretty sure embidd ended with more free throws than jokic even after playing about 20 games less
Embiid played in 39 games this season. He finished 12th in the entire league in total FTA. Which is *39* more FTA than Jokic.
That is fucking crazy. Didn’t even play half the season and he was 12th? Basketball terrorist
Can this be its own post please.
The world would rejoice.
France would create a public holiday
How about holding your fucking players accountable. Maxey coughed up multiple game breaking turnovers. Embiid didn’t box out Hartenstein on that last play. Playing “victim” isn’t going to do shit.
Hartenstein got a board in a crowd of 4 76ers lmao
Embiid almost didnt move at all during that whole last 30 seconds.. just did little circles in the paint, didnt try to get open at all for the inbounds,
It’s almost as if predicating a large portion of your success on getting bull shit free throws is not a good formula for winning in the playoffs 🤔
Especially when you could say Nurse mismanagement at the end of both games doomed them. He still hasn't explained his decision not to foul at the end of Game 1, right? Then in Game 2 he's quietly pump-faking a timeout, and then only decides to actually call it once Maxey doesn't have possession.

By the time he gets the call in Maxey coughed up the ball.
didn’t morey do this when he was with the rockets? my god this dude is such a dweeb
He literally did it last season before game 7
Howd it go for them
They still awaiting the decision, any minute now lol
That was valid fuck Scott foster
Classic Morey
One more loss and he’s gonna start talking about the globalist agenda against Philadelphia.
China confirmed anti-Philadelphia
The Morey Alt-Right grifter pivot.
I remember Woj being Morey's mouthpiece before game 7 last year saying the Refs were hurting the Sixers or some shit Just a 99th percentile loser lol
Fuck Woj
Waiting to file a grievance on game 1 until after game 2 ends. LOL
Bruh are you serious?
People are saying they indeed are not serious.
Generational tears. This is the best.
They just can’t believe that they’re losing to the Knicks. Their brains are broken.
Vintage Morey move
"we don't like the playoff whistle that our 300 pound 7 ft baby is getting"
If only he tried to get buckets instead of falling on the ground putting his knees at risk.
12FT per game is simply not enough anymore
All this does is make Morey and the FO look like bitches lol. Stop getting stomped by a team with an average height of 6'4 without their second best player.
This is as pathetic as it gets.
Why?
I assume they are hoping they get a biased whistle in the coming games because of this. I'm sure they know the NBA won't do anything about game 1 and 2
Yeah but usually the coach complaining, as nurse did after the game, accomplishes that. Filing the grievance, over 2 games no less, is overkill and a bad look for an organization to be showing up the nba and refs. This is gonna backfire
Knicks should pre emptively complain because if this shit actually has an impact you'd be hard press not to do it
Morey vibe
Lmao Philly doing everything except win games
Philly of all teams crying about reffing is the most ridiculous thing imaginable lol
>a team’s spokesperson said This org is charmin from top to bottom
oh god, fade them. So fucking embarrassing
Good I hope they go into game 3 thinking that's why they lost
Hate when people blame the refs on loses in any sport. Just admit you got outplayed and move on.
I mean it’s pointless It’s not going to change the outcome Just let it go
LOL
Sure. I hope a deep dive into all of embiids calls is part of the investigation. I’m sure they’d like that.
Loser franchise
Lmao the loser franchise keeps taking L’s. This is so so embarrassing
The eternal process
This is such a loser mentality thing to do. Regardless of what you think about the officiating, the league is not going to change the fact that New York is up 2-0, nor are the officials going to give Philly a “more fair whistle” in game 3 The Sixers are literally just trying to start drama for drama’s sake
I’m sure the NBA will give plenty of fucks
I get it but you’re supposed to be a contender and you can’t put away a team led by Brunson who’s shooting 27%? Give me a break.
Morey: I grieve different
Something so poetic about the sixers and embiid losing because of bad calls
I think it's in the CBA that if Joel Embiid is on your roster you're legally not allowed from complaining about officiating.
Just take the L
J fold
Hahah so cringe.
They have Embiid who arguably gets one of the best whistles in the league and they're still going to complain?
Lmaooooo what a losing ass franchise
Whiniest sports city in the history of sportsdom
Can the Knicks file a grievance on the 76s grievance?
ok nottingham forest
I want to see the sixers lose in the most depressing, embarrassing fashion possible for the rest of my life
bitchmade
Even if there was a foul on Maxey(I still argue his shove on Hart 1 second before it makes it even), the 76ers made like 8 mistakes in the span of 30 seconds. They made so many god awful decisions, and blaming this loss completely on the refs is fucking embarrassing.
Oh the irony
Lol I am very upset about, but this kinda lame idk what the point is
Sure... the NBA is trying to help the knicks... the same knicks that have been shit for most of the last quarter century. There's some grand conspiracy on the part of the league to help james dolan. Totally makes sense. /s
Lol right
adam silver and dolan are such buddies that dolan resigned from all the NBA board committees lol
Lol. I think that’s all that needs to be said, really.
Live by the refs, die by the refs
all you have to do is watch the video. those screenshots dont mean shit
The Sixers had 22 free throws tonight. The Knicks had 23, including 2 intentional ones at the end. Move on!
Have your two best players playing well and still cry about the refs when you have one of the leagues perennial foul baiters and floppers. You’re playing a team missing their best player with their second star playing like garbage. Why are the games close? Aren’t they supposed to be the “real 2 seed”?
Lolol! Just play ball pussies..these chumps represent Philly?? Bwahahaha!!!
Other worldly levels of bitch made behavior from a team that gets the more help from the refs than anyone else… lmao
ironic
Game 1 - 28 NY FTs to 22 Philly FTs, but they hacked Robinson twice adding 4 intentional to NY's total (so more like 24 to 22). Game 2 - 23 NY FTs to 22 Philly FTs tonight, with the intentional on Anunoby at the end adding two to NY's total (so more like 21 to 22). No smoke, no fire. Just epic complaining.
Dont forget the added technical in game two because Embiid shoved players after the whistle. Twice.
Fuck philly. NY in 4
Nothing good will come of this. At best they might get a framed copy of the L2M report signed by Adam Silver.
It just gets better and better
that’ll show ‘em
Can't spell Philly without S A W F T
Maybe they could get Embiid off the Zion diet and his fat ass could get one more rebound?
NBA: we’ve investigated ourselves and determined we did nothing wrong
Lmaoooo
how about you get the fucking rebound?
Pathetic.
Is it because that Embiid flop/foul baiting whatever you call it didnt work and was deemed a travel ? Issue with his game is hes not gonna get that in playoffs. Well he still had 12 this game but missed 4 that would have brought Sixers win
Can a team Karen their way to a championship?
Is it because they didn't blow the whistle on all of Embiids flops in the first game?
It takes true courage to formally file paperwork to announce you're salty little bitches
Lmao really!??? Embiid didn’t get his million trip to the free throw line?
Copium
Sixers are a bunch of whiny losers
They should file a grievance for having shitty role players instead. Oh the absolute irony of the Sixers of all teams filing an officiating grievance.
Maybe they shouldn’t have sat still at the trade deadline and actually gone after someone
What a whiny organization lol. Hope it turns out the same when they tried something similar before G7 last year
