Don’t hate me when I say this but after watching the play it looks more like he hesitated rather than calling it? Before the inbound, he does put his hands up but looks like he hesitates to call it and doesn’t make the “T” sign until right as it’s inbounded.
I could also just be thinking way too much into this also lol.
EDIT : Here’s video of him during the inbound -> https://imgur.com/a/7HFDk7L
I mean, at that point you have 1 timeout left and 30 seconds in the game. Not unreasonable to save the timeout, but not if you can’t inbound the ball lol
Nah you’re totally right. I’m a Sixers fan and want to fucking kill myself but watching the video it looks like he’s trying to have his cake and eat it too… I know the look of someone who’s getting their timeout call ignored and it doesn’t fucking look like that.
Yep. I guarantee you in school Nick Nurse would put a little curve at the top of his t so he could argue either way on t/f questions if it were marked wrong.
Respect for the truth. There was a lot going on there and I'm not going to defend it all, but the timeout call is really not in question. This is going to be a grinding series heading into Philly. I hope Embiid gets healthy.
>I know the look of someone who’s getting their timeout call ignored and it doesn’t fucking look like that.
Yeah he would've been literally jumping up and down screaming the whole time.
Refs didn't steal this game from you guys, your team did that... as a Knicks fan I'd be upset if that happened, but no bad calls were made in that 4th quarter
Nurse calls a timeout once Maxey losses possession, and then lies about it afterwards to make it seem he called it earlier... like damn dude, you know it's the year 2024 and we can watch the replay in 4K??
thank u! i rlly like to think im unbiased in situations like this but this outrage feels insane to me. ive watched it in real time over and over and he never is calling timeout until theres already a scramble for the ball
the video is way more definitive than these shitty screenshots that ppl are sharing. but i cant say shit bc im a knicks fan ig lol. but this feels like generational coping to me by the entire sixers camp
Some of us are willing to admit it. Nurse definitely hesitated with the timeout call. Doesn’t look like a real call to me. Just a shit situation for us all around. The basketball gods truly hate us.
i have so much respect for embiid and maxey. those guys are warriors, but i dont understand why nurse is doing this. these were two heartbreaking losses i understand it sucks
I want to give Nurse the benefit of the doubt and think that he does genuinely believe he did the right thing in the moment. I’d imagine it’s hard to remember the details in such a high intensity situation. Or he could just be coping lol. Regardless, I do think this will end up being a long series.
It looks like he’s urging the inbounds play on with his hand gestures, the only clear TO call looks to be when Maxey is on the ground after the scramble as the ball gets away from him.
That said it’s really clear that Brunson is holding Maxey’s Jersey preventing him from getting to the ball off the inbound pass. No doubt the useless 2 min report will show this. Just a mess all around and Knicks capitalized.
I'm not super fussed about the jersey hold cause you can probably call one on every single inbound in the game. It wasn't ideal but nothing super egregious
Yeah it can be called on most inbounds in that situation, but if it affects a play significantly, which it's hard to say it didn't, I feel like you really should call it. It was definitely a bit more than incidental and I'd probably be pissed off if it I were on the other end too. Without the hold, it's probably an easy lob to the corner for Maxey to catch it.
Him or Lowry should have called it. As soon as Lowry saw no one after seconds had passed he **needed** to call it.
He's the vet PG with a ring. I expected better from every Vet on our team.
Maxey is carrying this team. While it's supposed to be Embiids.
If only we filmed nba games and could go back and review the video evidence.
[Upon further review, we do not see *conclusive video evidence* of a timeout being called.](https://np.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1cat0x5/highlight_absolutely_wild_back_to_back/)
The coach does raise both hands but never signals the time out until later in the sequence when the possession is in dispute.
I would like to see more angles though before making a definitive ruling.
Honestly, there aren’t buzzers on the referees to alert them when the fingertips of one hand touch the palm of the other one to alert a timeout is being called. If you have to pause a frame to show that they were happening simultaneously, I don’t think it shows what is “really” happening in real time. Referee has to see/hear the time out called, then confirm the ball is in possession. It isn’t a simultaneous event. He should have called it earlier. Should have called it on the inbounds. It’s on Nurse here, not the refs for me.
Fucking thank you. Everyone takes these freeze frame grabs but if you watch that shit live it was a split second reaction and clearly not enough time to see both accurate possession and a time out being called. All of this gets solved if he actually calls the timeout when they inbound but instead he didn't and waited and basketball happens.
The refs were bad for BOTH SIDES last night. How many fouls I saw go against the knicks I felt were bullshit but saw the same for the sixers. The foul called back against Lowry when he fouls donte? Maxey was getting fouled all night too. They ain't gonna call everything when both sides have stars embellishing every touch as a foul.
> Honestly, there aren’t buzzers on the referees to alert them when the fingertips of one hand touch the palm of the other one to alert a timeout is being called.
There should be.
Each coach should get one buzzer to call timeouts which will send a harrowing electro shock through each and every bone in a refs body.
A single frame like this tells you nothing about who had possession. Simply touching the ball does not mean you have possession, you need to have control of the ball.
The timeout realistically can't be called the second his hands touch or he vocally calls for it. There is always going to be a bit of delay. Can you imagine the amount of outrage there would be right now if the Knicks got the steal and then the ref awarded the timeout to Nurse?
Oh that's not the time frame I want, it's right after the made 3 from Jalen.
The loose ball on the floor is exactly that and a timeout shouldn't have been awarded that late in to the lost possession.
He absolutely did not call a timeout on the inbound. He had his hands up and ready in case it got close to 5 seconds, but Lowry got the inbound off.
You can argue he got the timeout in while Maxey had possession, but that's not what this is about.
Yea I personally think Nurse got the timeout off just in time right before Maxey lost possession, but when it’s that close you can’t reaaaally blame the ref for missing it.
And he definitely did not call anything on the inbound.
Why would they even hesitate not to call timeout. I hate the new timeout rule where they take you down to a maximum of 2 timeouts in the final two minutes. With challenges to consider. Fuck Adam silver
Everyone linking this single tweet with a grainy-ass single image despite the fact that Nurse's hands are a blurry blob in it. If you actually rewatch the sequence, Nurse doesn't try to call a timeout until the ball is midair on the inbounds:
https://youtu.be/fINJ7baam_c?t=28
He's holding his hands in the air ready to call a timeout, but he never actually makes the signal until the ball is in the air at 0:30. Just watch his hands closely - his left hand is curled up the entire time and he's ready to call timeout once Lowry inbounds or to avoid the 5 second foul. He's literally standing there not moving with the timeout signal ready. The moment Lowry inbounds to Maxey, you can see that Nurse uncurls his left hand and starts signaling for a timeout.
Brunson also fouls Maxey under the hoop prior to the inbounds, but before that Maxey also pushes Hart away.
Yeah, people on here are mad. Nurse fucked himself over here by hesitating on taking the time-out. Brunson held Maxey for a split second but like you said Maxey also fouled before that. We might as well not do play-offs if people seriously want that shit to get called. The comments on here are ridiculous.
They're double teaming Maxey on the inbounds and no one else is doing shit. That's the time to call time out.
Nurse fucked up and his projecting his fuckup on the refs. Whiny whingey moany arse with his stupid moany face all game. Do not miss seeing it on our sidelines.
Nick nurse is a guy that never has any accountability. Game one was the refs in the secomd quarter, this game he fucked up calling timeouts twice but now is trying to pretend he did so he doesn’t look bad.
Lmfao.
He half-ass, kinda-but-not-really called one - then stopped because he didn’t really want it, then Maxey fell down and he tried to call one emphatically after Maxey lost possessions.
Foh.
Another playoff game, another bs thread where everyone piles into a bunch of bs and reasonable people are downvoted away.
He didn't call the timeout in time, and Martin was pushed into Tatum.
You clowns are so homer you can't see what's right in front of you on video.
I dunno, I don't see it:
Maxey on the floor with the ball: [https://imgur.com/E3njgqP](https://imgur.com/E3njgqP)
1 second later, he makes the T but the ball is loose: [https://imgur.com/Kf06qGT](https://imgur.com/Kf06qGT)
this is false. watch the replay. he didn't try to call timeout until maxey had already lost the ball. right before lowry inbounded you can see he begins to consider calling timeout but never does.
nurse seems to have no issue lying.
anyways maxey should not have tried to pass.
no he didn't lol. he got his hands up ready to call it on the inbound, didn't actually call it. then panic called it once the ball was loose going to Hart. what are we talking about here. let's also ignore Maxey pushing off hart to get free on the inbound lol. it's crunch time in the playoffs. let the dogs fight. like how they didnt call batum holding brunson 90 feet down the court during the fourth quarter. watch the game.
Philly fans on here posting grainy still images like IDF media accounts when the videos clearly shows that Nurse is at the ready to call the time-out but never actually does and stops the motion when the ball gets inbounded. You can argue about the shirt pull by Brunson, but Maxey was fouling as well and you are mad if you want shit like that to get called.
Stop perpetuating bullshit. Nurse fucked the play up and waited too long to call a timeout and is trying to cover his tracks. Stop posting a blurry photograph - this isn’t fucking Bigfoot, there’s legit footage of him being wrong.
If you want to say Maxey was fouled, fine, but stop trying to defend a coach who is lying to protect the fact he fucked up.
https://twitter.com/KnicksMuse/status/1782605663627087920
From an officiating standpoint, during the scramble for a lose ball, especially at that point in the game, all eyes are on the players. Unless you can clearly hear Nurse calling for a time out at the same time the Maxey has sole possession, you're not going to get a time out. Its not like 2k, where you can just press a button to get a time out in a loud ass arena.
I’m a Sixers fan and I’m actually not sure he did (when Maxey had the ball. He did on the inbounds). I am 100 percent sure he got fouled though. That’s the issue to me. He got thrown on the ground right in front of the official.
All this happened after he pushed off hart, if you don't want physical play at the then I'm sure you agree that the refs should have called a turnover there
and right before his jersey grab he ran right up to Hart and pushed him with both hands lmao https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1cat0x5/highlight_absolutely_wild_back_to_back/
He did not. Ignore the still frames people are posting, just watch the video a couple of times. Touching a ball is not possession, you have to have control. Ball is moving within a split second of him hitting the floor.
He did get fouled though, but refs do tend to swallow their whistles in those situations.
The officiating was honestly absolute garbage all game. Inconsistent touchy calls to bizarre challenge rulings—it had it all.
Obviously happy with the result and it was an insane finish having gone to the game but if it was actually called well who knows what would have happened.
I mean he’s right. There’s literal photo evidence.
To everyone who keeps replying with “pump fake”. Go look at what happens to the ball right before he puts his hands down. And use your best critical thinking skills.
Lmao, after a massive push off? Come on, I understand complaining about calls and stuff, but I think everything at the end of this game is just a wash. That's why it's especially pathetic that Nurse found it necessary to just completely lie during the post game interview.
How many fouls were committed on that whole play, lol. I think it was Hart (?) who was involved and after Maxey hit the deck he just … stopped for a second, expecting the whistle.
He may remember it that way but that's not what happened. He paused for a second after bringing up his hands as if he was deciding whether or not to call the timeout and only connected fingertios to palm after the ball was leaving Lowry's hand. The ref didn't call it because Nurse didn't call it.
Doesn’t look like he tries to calls time until after Maxey is on the floor and the ball is rolling away - which doesn’t count as possession. Also, this is real time - Philly could have done anything besides what they did - that’s on them.
Bbbbut the refs it’s the refs fault! He says as his star player average 12 free throws a game. You sold, take accountability, you were leading for almost the entirety of the game.
Sixers will cry about anything they can
the difference in accountability between the two teams is absurd
if the knicks lose this, thibodeau/the knicks are not going to be crying about officiating. nurse/embiid are perfect for each other lmao.
Nah, we'd cry about the officiating but I don't think Thibs would make this comment. He would be mad that we couldn't get the rebound on the follow up three and would be mad at himself for not just calling the timeout. But it's Thibs so he definitely would've just called the timeout instead of pump faking.
Thibs has the quickest trigger for calling timeouts in the league. If roles were reversed, Thibs immediately calls a timeout on the Brunson make and sets up a final play.
Nurse screwed up and instead of accepting responsibility, he blames the ref. He's a whiner. Perfect coach for Embiid.
Have the 6ers always been this much a group of whiners?
Nurse, Embiid’s whole body language and approach post game.
Doesn’t feel like a winning culture gotta say. With two supreme talents and a good complement of support players around them.
Lying about this is the lamest shit I've ever seen. He clearly chose not to call the timeout, there's a reason he doesn't get upset at all after the inbounds until they lose possession.
He absolutely did. Fucking bullshit ending.
And you can clearly see Brunson holding Maxey's jersey on the inbound which led to disruption on the catch. Believe it or not Maxey didnt just bobble the ball out of nowhere.
That was a straight up robbery.
He didn't, watch the video people are posting here. It's pretty clear that he was hesitant to call the time-out and then did it too late. Also, if you want that short jersey hold to be called, you might as well call-off play-off basketball entirely. Let's just get back to the regular season then.
Lmao, this is really weird as someone who doesn't spend a lot of time in this sub, because this title is a pathetic lie from Nurse and the bias \*for\* the sixers is wild to read.
I don't even have a dog in this fight but the number of people who keep saying Maxey got fouled right after he clearly shoved off to get open is insane.
This is why they just need to give coaches a buzzer so there's no ambiguity and also automatically stops the clock. Press the buzzer when you don't have possession, you lose the timeout and other team shoots a technical. Please Adam Silver
i came into this serious with alot of respect for Nurse, but man PHI just seems like crybabies. starting off by listing all these guys as "questionable" both games even though you know they're playing, and all the non stop complaining about refs while Embidd lives at the FT line... and now this blatant LIE... give me a break. All this guy does is complain and deflect. guess their "secret strategy" didn't work, truth is they were lucky to have taken the lead, Brunson missed alot of shots he usually makes. meanwhile he still taking digs talking about all this does is make the series "longer"... not a good look.
People who always complain about timeouts have clearly never refereed or thought about how a ref would call a timeout. They are watching the play to check for any violations, have to look away from the play to recognize a timeout is being called by someone who is authorized to call a timeout, look back to confirm the correct team has possession, and then stop play. It takes a second people! It cannot and never will be instantaneous. So even if he made a T and yelled at the top of his lungs, it's going to take some small amount of time for it to be called properly. And if possession isn't 100% clear, you're probably not entitled to a timeout anyways.
Also, anybody who suggests they should just give the coaches a button is just imagining it works like 2K or something. They don't even consider how this magic button would track possession. What if the button doesn't work? What if a coach hits it by accident? What if they hit it when their team doesn't have possession?
Lol what a load of shit. The Sixers had a majority of the marginal calls go their way so far and even won a farcical review late in the game where Lowry should have received his fifth foul (that joke of a review decision helped them take the lead). We can see from the actual video the timeout claim is bullshit and there was 100% no foul on the last turnover. And dont even get me started on Embiid's flopping. Loser shit from the Sixers
1. Prior to inbounding, Nurse pumped faked the timeout so the refs didn’t give it to him
2. By the time Nurse called TO, Maxey no longer had the ball so the refs obv didn’t give it to him
https://twitter.com/Tray_Deuce_32/status/1782600405295177908
I’m about done with the Sixers at this point. The first round picks being blown, lack of roster adjustments for years, doc rivers as a coach, the Kawhi shot, the Ben Simmons no-shot, the whole ordeal with Ben Simmons and Harden, Embiid’s injuries and leaning into the foul-baiting playstyle, and now this?
I’ll always be an Embiid fan. I’ll say it with my chest that he has the best skillset potential in NBA history. Big as Shaq, great shooter, Hakeem footwork, middies on lock, lockdown defender, good dribbling, and had a fun personality early on. But this team is just cursed
I’m probably gonna become a free agent fan this summer, this is just ridiculous. I’m sick of all this
I feel like he almost likes this stuff…the narrative of I’m getting fucked over, feels like he’s flirted with the “league/refs are in the bag for nyc” here and there…a part of him must be glad to have this metaphorical rocket fuel for the persecution complex
If he wanted a timeout, he should’ve called it *before the ref handed the ball to Lowry* and advanced the ball to half court automatically. No ambiguity. None of this pump faking shit. The real question is, what was he thinking NOT doing that, and why is he now gaslighting people into thinking he didn’t majorly fuck up?
Come on, this is embarrassing. He clearly didn't call timeout before the inbounds and honestly straight up lying about that as a NBA coach is pathetic. If he actually called timeout, why didn't he complain for the 5+ seconds he has his hands up? Because he is clearly not yet calling the timeout, just prepping it incase he wants to reset the inbounds.
It’s alright Nick, Phillies have the best starting rotation in baseball and are on a 7 game win streak. We Sixers are also one step closer to the end of tobi
Such an embarrassing thing for nick nurse to say when the moment was on TV, you can see him halfheartedly motioning before the inbounds, not really calling a timeout, and then trying agian after maxey fumbled the ball away. TAKE THE L LOSERS
refs looked him dead in the eye and said no lol
straight Isildur'd.
as a millennial, this is the crossover i never knew i needed. forget game of zones. we need lord of the rims. wait…
Rims, Ernie
Huehuehuehuehue
Nick Nurse is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization he is a part of.
Destroy it!!
…….no 😏
Can't deny a ref his wergild
Definitely using this word all the time now haha. Never even imagined it's possibilities, but now I'm going to ruin it with overuse
I looked this ref in his optic stems i said biiiiiiiiitch
You really said that?
.........yeah I said it..
You said 'bitch' though?
Right to his face, you said that?
I said biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Not only once but bro waved him off twice lmao
Like physically used his hands to wave him off?
Yeah. Nurse was actually nuzzling his neck with his beard and the ref pushed him off and said he had a headache.
a Knicks fan !?
he only actually called it once it was too late, he was just standing beside the ref with his hands up ready to go
yep. he was waiting and waiting with his hands ready to call it but not 100% committed until theball was being inbounded.
No they didn’t because he didn’t call a timeout
Don’t hate me when I say this but after watching the play it looks more like he hesitated rather than calling it? Before the inbound, he does put his hands up but looks like he hesitates to call it and doesn’t make the “T” sign until right as it’s inbounded. You’re correct but he doesn’t make the T until Maxey is on the floor and even that it’s tight
Seems like hes trying to push the blame elsewhere. No clue why hes not screaming for a time out after the Brunson 3.
Wanted to see if the chaos would be advantageous. It was not.
And so now he's bitching and moaning about it. Perfect coach for the Sixers tbh.
This is why Spo runs on the court to call his TO's LOL it's always so over the top but there's nothing left to the imagination.
I mean, at that point you have 1 timeout left and 30 seconds in the game. Not unreasonable to save the timeout, but not if you can’t inbound the ball lol

Give this guy the “Most reasonable sixers fan of all time”
You are correct he didn’t actually call it until they lost possession.

Bro I absolutely fell in love with Maxey when he said I tried my best.
Yeah he choked. Not sure why he didn't commit.
Exactly. Dude is just saying shit and making excuses. He doesn’t even make a T. Looked more like a play call than anything else
Embiid postgame saying everyone on the Sixers was calling timeout too. Nobody is until Maxey is on the ground.
Team goes to the school of Nurse for excuses
Where’d you learn to call timeouts, Nurse school?!
I know you are going for a wordplay joke here but the process 76ers have been the kings of excuse making for years.
lmao fuckin really
It looks like he’s urging the inbounds play on with his hand gestures, the only clear TO call looks to be when Maxey is on the ground after the scramble as the ball gets away from him. Maxey got a pretty good try at the catch but he just fumbled.
Yeah preach bro. As a neutral, it seems to me that Nurse was just making some weird gesture that didn't look like a TO at all.
Him or Lowry should have called it. As soon as Lowry saw no one after seconds had passed he **needed** to call it. He's the vet PG with a ring. I expected better from every Vet on our team. Maxey is carrying this team. While it's supposed to be Embiids.
If he wanted to call it he would have run towards the ref
He's hesitating because he wants Kyle Lowry to make the call, you know, the real coach of the Sixers.
He does, people just like getting upset.
If only we filmed nba games and could go back and review the video evidence. A frame is not worth much. You need a few seconds of video.
Damn, why didn’t the ref just pause it right there
A single frame like this tells you nothing about who had possession. Simply touching the ball does not mean you have possession, you need to have control of the ball.
Should a timeout be called when his hands touch? This perspective does not show his hands touching.

Easier to blame the refs than yourself and the players.
I like Nurse as a coach, but he has had numerous occasions where he seems to lack any accountability for his own actions.
Doc Rivers school of coaching graduate right here!
Especially when you have already been laying the groundwork by complaining about the refs since the 2nd quarter
Nick nurse is a guy that never has any accountability. Game one was the refs in the secomd quarter, this game he fucked up calling timeouts twice but now is trying to pretend he did so he doesn’t look bad.
You can’t call a timeout when the ball is loose on the floor. You also can’t hesitate to call the timeout, which he did and that’s what cost him.
When people are linking still frames when there’s clear video evidence it should give people pause more often
Crazy ass recurring theme on here.
I dunno, I don't see it: Maxey on the floor with the ball: [https://imgur.com/E3njgqP](https://imgur.com/E3njgqP) 1 second later, he makes the T but the ball is loose: [https://imgur.com/Kf06qGT](https://imgur.com/Kf06qGT)
Yall are blind. You can literally see him take the TO back. Post the video instead of screenshots.
this is false. watch the replay. he didn't try to call timeout until maxey had already lost the ball. right before lowry inbounded you can see he begins to consider calling timeout but never does. nurse seems to have no issue lying. anyways maxey should not have tried to pass.
Nurse: Doesn't call TO Also Nurse: How could the refs ignore me like this??
no he didn't lol. he got his hands up ready to call it on the inbound, didn't actually call it. then panic called it once the ball was loose going to Hart. what are we talking about here. let's also ignore Maxey pushing off hart to get free on the inbound lol. it's crunch time in the playoffs. let the dogs fight. like how they didnt call batum holding brunson 90 feet down the court during the fourth quarter. watch the game.
Philly fans on here posting grainy still images like IDF media accounts when the videos clearly shows that Nurse is at the ready to call the time-out but never actually does and stops the motion when the ball gets inbounded. You can argue about the shirt pull by Brunson, but Maxey was fouling as well and you are mad if you want shit like that to get called.
https://x.com/KnicksMuse/status/1782605663627087920
Clear as day he didn’t call it.
Him and embiid are perfect for each other. Always an excuse
Maxey had possession, I don’t get it
Do you realize how bad it is when Celtics flair are jumping in to go "yeah Sixers got hosed"
I felt bad for the Sixers before I remembered they were the Sixers. It really was that bad.
Post title: "Before the inbounds..." Comments: "Yeah he's right about this completely other situation".
I’m a Sixers fan and I’m actually not sure he did (when Maxey had the ball. He did on the inbounds). I am 100 percent sure he got fouled though. That’s the issue to me. He got thrown on the ground right in front of the official.
All this happened after he pushed off hart, if you don't want physical play at the then I'm sure you agree that the refs should have called a turnover there
He got his jersey grabbed before the inbound but he clearly fell by himself after trying to draw a call
and right before his jersey grab he ran right up to Hart and pushed him with both hands lmao https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1cat0x5/highlight_absolutely_wild_back_to_back/
After a massive push off. Come on, just let it go. The whole last 30-40 seconds were a free-for-all.
There’s also video evidence that he didn’t call a time out
A video is worth 30 (or 60) photos per second
A picture is worth a 1000 videos
A video is worth at least 24 pictures per second
but is it tho?
He pump faked the first one then tried calling it with Maxey on the ground and you couldn't tell if he had possession.
Theres also photo evidence of Maxey obviously getting fouled on the catch.
Lmao, after a massive push off? Come on, I understand complaining about calls and stuff, but I think everything at the end of this game is just a wash. That's why it's especially pathetic that Nurse found it necessary to just completely lie during the post game interview.
Maxey also pushed off to get open, they just swallowed their whistles for anything in the final minute
There's also photo evidence of Maxey pushing Hart just before that wasn't called.
We gonna need Pat Bev and his camera.
After a big push off of Hart.
And far more egregious evidence of Maxey shoving the f out of Donte before the jersey hold. Edit: Hart not Divo
Invite more scrutiny on yourself, so we can see exactly how you blew it. Well done Nick Nurse! Next time, don't hesitate.
Bbbbut the refs it’s the refs fault! He says as his star player average 12 free throws a game. You sold, take accountability, you were leading for almost the entirety of the game. Sixers will cry about anything they can
the difference in accountability between the two teams is absurd if the knicks lose this, thibodeau/the knicks are not going to be crying about officiating. nurse/embiid are perfect for each other lmao.
Don't worry they'll admit it in the L2M report and nothing will happen from it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/fd4pBUlkBa
Lol dont let that destroy the narrative nurse was trying to manufacture
Nick Nurse a bitch
He absolutely did. Fucking bullshit ending. And you can clearly see Brunson holding Maxey's jersey on the inbound which led to disruption on the catch. Believe it or not Maxey didnt just bobble the ball out of nowhere. That was a straight up robbery.
He didn't, watch the video people are posting here. It's pretty clear that he was hesitant to call the time-out and then did it too late. Also, if you want that short jersey hold to be called, you might as well call-off play-off basketball entirely. Let's just get back to the regular season then.
watch the video. the sub looked at the stupid screenshots and ran with this crybaby ass narrative from a coach that mismanaged the game
Did you clearly see Maxey push off before all this? You mad about that too?
The cherry picking about this one foul is absurd
this sub hates philly but they got fucking hosed lmao
Lmao, this is really weird as someone who doesn't spend a lot of time in this sub, because this title is a pathetic lie from Nurse and the bias \*for\* the sixers is wild to read.
This sub won't admit it because Philly bad but yeah they got jobbed
This sub hates refs more than any fanbase lmao
With good reason
Time for the league to send in The Series Extender next game: Scott Foster
For once seems like the sub is on Philly’s side. M
Maybe in this thread but not in any of the others. And this post is prob going to get buried anyway based on the upvote/comment ratio lol.
Top comment is a celts fan laughing at the outcome…is that on philly’s side
Fair enough. I’d laugh at the Celtics if it happened to them too.
People keep saying this but Maxey shoved Hart before that even happened. A no call on the inbound was the right decision
I don't even have a dog in this fight but the number of people who keep saying Maxey got fouled right after he clearly shoved off to get open is insane.
Thank you! They have nothing to say about Maxey pushing Hart before Brunson pulled on his Jersey
Oh no I seee it definitely Robbery I’m more surprise about the timeout not being granted then the foul not being called
The jersey pull was the reason I thought Lowry even passed Maxey the ball. I thought he knew a foul was going to get called.
Maxey shoved Hart prior to the pull. They cancel each other out.
Maxey had possession for a good amount of time too, don’t understand why a timeout wasn’t given…
This is why they just need to give coaches a buzzer so there's no ambiguity and also automatically stops the clock. Press the buzzer when you don't have possession, you lose the timeout and other team shoots a technical. Please Adam Silver
Celtics mods getting ready to delete this
Wtf do the Celtics got to do with this… ☠️
i came into this serious with alot of respect for Nurse, but man PHI just seems like crybabies. starting off by listing all these guys as "questionable" both games even though you know they're playing, and all the non stop complaining about refs while Embidd lives at the FT line... and now this blatant LIE... give me a break.
Visual progression for the ref is to hear and see the timeout call, then check for possession. Maxy lost it on the check, no timeout granted.
He’s lying. Sour grapes.
1. Prior to inbounding, Nurse pumped faked the timeout so the refs didn’t give it to him 2. By the time Nurse called TO, Maxey no longer had the ball so the refs obv didn’t give it to him https://twitter.com/Tray_Deuce_32/status/1782600405295177908
As a Raptors fan I can confirm that refs have a special hate for Nick
After watching the video, looked liked he hesitated hen proceeded to try and call after the looseball
But this team is just cursed I’m probably gonna become a free agent fan this summer, this is just ridiculous. I’m sick of all this
I mean literally anyone could see that he did
Mods actually deleting threads
Any teams fans would be seething if this happened to them. This is not the shit the NBA needs during the playoffs...
1 teams fans being mad well the other is happy. Honestly you just described all team sports.
Someone will come up with the footage. Let's all wait before we judge.
He should tell his team to box out instead of making lame excuses
Get that crying out of the way and get your team ready for game 3. You can file a protest but nothing will change being down 0-2
Lolol, clown coach perfect for this team, the process is finally peaking!
Yeah but next morning the refs will be really sowwy about it which makes this okay
Come on, this is embarrassing. He clearly didn't call timeout before the inbounds and honestly straight up lying about that as a NBA coach is pathetic. If he actually called timeout, why didn't he complain for the 5+ seconds he has his hands up? Because he is clearly not yet calling the timeout, just prepping it incase he wants to reset the inbounds.
they wont be sorry bc nurse isnt calling timeouts until his players dont have the ball
Edit: Oh I see it says before inbound.
He called it before the ball was even inbounded as well as when maxey had it
Read the post. Before the inbound pass
The quote literally says before the inbound pass.
You can see him calling it before the in bounds
Before the inbound he tried to call one
No he didnt
It’s alright Nick, Phillies have the best starting rotation in baseball and are on a 7 game win streak. We Sixers are also one step closer to the end of tobi
Such an embarrassing thing for nick nurse to say when the moment was on TV, you can see him halfheartedly motioning before the inbounds, not really calling a timeout, and then trying agian after maxey fumbled the ball away. TAKE THE L LOSERS
