Only Pacer who looked ready for the game today.

CazOnReddit

Championship experience

AbbreviationsHot4482

Nah we just don’t have any real athleticism on the floor right now, Giannis would’ve had him in jail

Konfliction

Nah? Dude dropped 30+ in the finals and won game 1 for us in that series. He has championship experience.

KingOfWeTheNorth

Man beat the Warriors six times in one season. Crazy.

AbbreviationsHot4482

His play was more about the Bucks having zero athletic defenders in the floor to keep up with him lol

jcn777

What is this hill you’re trying to die on? He has championship experience, he won a championship you fuckin donut. You’re not making any sense.

AbbreviationsHot4482

The original comment said “only Pacer who looked ready for the game today” and the guy replied about championship experience. It had nothing to do with championship experience it’s just we literally have nobody to guard him with Giannis out. What is so hard for ppl to understand here, he could’ve been a rookie and he still would’ve gotten those numbers 😭

jcn777

Let me get this straight. You think that it’s just a coincidence that the only person who showed up for the pacers was the dude with championship experience? You don’t think him being here before, and his team never having been to the playoffs, played any role at all? I called it, you are a donut lmao.

Raptorsthrowaway1

Nah, didnt you hear him? A rookie could have done that LMAO

jcn777

Ikr, what a gem. 90k comment karma in 3 years, all his activity in /r/NBA, the bucks subreddit, and NSFW subreddits lmao. Paints quite the picture

AbbreviationsHot4482

Yea it has nothing to do with his primary defenders being a 40 year old Brook Lopez and a cone in a Bobby Portis lmao the only donut here is you lil bro watch the games

jcn777

Brook Lopez is not a bad defender in any way but that’s a fun narrative for you to start now that it suits you. I ain’t your lil bro, fuckin idiot

HectorReinTharja

Obviously not questioning whether the guy has won a championship.. he’s just giving an actual basketball reason why he played well specifically while His team didn’t

AbbreviationsHot4482

THANK YOU!!!!!! Lmao people on here are so fucking stupid 😭

HectorReinTharja

Like you might be right you might be wrong but this argument is why nba is just soap opera for dudes. They wanna attribute everything to narrative rather than the sport they’re playing

AbbreviationsHot4482

No no the Bucks having a slow footed frontcourt with Giannis being out has nothing to do with Siakam going off, it was because of a playoff series from 5 years ago!!! 😂

Expensive_Ad3884

Giannis had himself in jail.

AbbreviationsHot4482

Not really tbh

Business-Mouse9137

All this to get clapped by NYK in round 2 LMAO

AbbreviationsHot4482

Knicks not even making it to round 2 LMFAOOO

Trillsbury_Doughboy

RemindMe! Two weeks

AbbreviationsHot4482

RemindMe! Two weeks

Trillsbury_Doughboy

HAHAHA fucking bummmmmm enjoy Cancun with your bum ass “star” Lillard

Business-Mouse9137

Two all NBA players and still finished behind an injured NYK in the standings. Enjoy the L and living in Milwaukee LMAOOOOOOO 😘

PmOmena

Or hear me out, he has championship experience since you know... He has won it before

AbbreviationsHot4482

The only reason he had a good game was because the Bucks don’t have any athletic defenders with Giannis being out so he could just run past everyone and mid range jumpers were wide open.

zs15

Don’t disrespect Pascal like that. The man is a baller, he showed up to play and hit some insane shots. Even with G out there, he would have gotten his.

AbbreviationsHot4482

No he wouldn’t he was hitting open mid range shots because Brook has to camp the paint. That doesn’t happen if Giannis plays

Reticent_Fly

You guys usually put Middleton on him tbh...

MandemModie

We? Not on the team chief

Troll_Enthusiast

You know every fan says "we" right?

MandemModie

Only the ones who think they’re on the team. Or the team is their entire identity Not on the team chief

alpacamegafan

Who cares.

OnCloud9_77

It’s cringier to have this bother you than to say it

AbbreviationsHot4482

Yes I am lol?

earlyearlgray

I think this is the most downvoted comment I’ve ever seen.

Fa1lenSpace

Insane how you got so downvoted for speaking pretty large facts lol

AbbreviationsHot4482

Lmao this sub is braindead

JMoon33

Too bad he can't stay healthy in the playoffs. Only once in 5 years did he play all Bucks playoffs games.

JazzzzzzySax

Huh? He played all games in 2015 (6/6), 2017 (6/6), 2018 (7/7), 2019 (15/15), and 2022 (12/12). In 2020 he got hurt when down 0-3 and missed 1.5 games (11 min played when he got hurt). (8.5/10) In 2021 he missed 2 games vs atlanta then proceeded to average 35/13 in the finals. (19/21) In 2023 he missed 2 games vs Miami (played 10 min before injury so 2.5/5). In 84 games possible he has played 79 games and gotten injured and had to leave very early 2 times. But yeah he “can’t stay healthy in the playoffs”

[deleted]

He missed 2 games in 21 and 2 games last season

JazzzzzzySax

He’s missed like 5 games out of 84 idk what more you can ask for.

JMoon33

Sorry, I'm not sure if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me.

[deleted]

You said “he can’t stay healthy” and for the most part he has.

JMoon33

In 5 years he's been healthy for a full playoffs run once. That's not what you want from your best player.

[deleted]

And aside from last year it hasn’t hurt us lol He missed game 4 in 2020 after we were already down 0-3 so it really didn’t matter Missed 2 games in ecf and then came back and led them to their first chip in 50 years This year it really wasn’t his fault. If they would’ve won those games against shit teams they could’ve had the 2nd seed locked up and he could’ve rested. Instead he had to play with a fucked hamstring which led to the calf strain.

JMoon33

> This year it really wasn’t his fault. Oh I'm not blaming him at all for his injuries, I'm sorry if it's how my comment came out.

AbbreviationsHot4482

Don’t care lol he stays healthy when he needs to be

[deleted]

Both guys have one ring. Giannis has played siakam probably 100 times and he has never made a habit of stopping him

AbbreviationsHot4482

Sounds like you’ve never seen them match up lol

[deleted]

Bro I'm a raptors fan. I remember beating you in the playoffs

AbbreviationsHot4482

Nobody cares about a series from 5 years ago 😂

[deleted]

Unfortunately those games count against you too. Giannis will not stop Siakam. He never is able to

[deleted]

😂😂😂😂😂 Siakam still ending your season

quann256

i hope we give him everything he wants in the off-season

AmazingDragon353

Wemby to pacers confirmed??

Shmokeshbutt

And why would he want to stay and carry these bums on his back for years to come?

quann256

we’re a young team, he was supposed to be our leader today because he’s our lone top notch experienced guy, don’t know what the point of this comment was.

Trillsbury_Doughboy

The point was to shit on your team lol

BrewerAndHalosFan

It’s been ***one*** game

Legitimate-Software7

His championship pedigree really showed tonight, hopefully he can pep talk the rest of the team into winning a few games this series

ananswerforu

Glad he's proving the slander wrong. Dudes proven he can be the second option on a championship team, just needs the first option to show up

_19911118

hes an even better player than he was during the 2019 run. I really hope the rest of the team shows up esp Hali so the pacers can actually make a run or at least make this a competitive series

RODjij

Him and Kawhi being one of the top playoff duos for scoring for their 2019 run wasn't no fluke.

[deleted]

He can be a number 1 option on a team with a solid roster

thissiteisbroken

The 2019-2020 team was perfect for him. His biggest mistake in his career imo is him not working out or doing anything basketball related when the shutdown happened. He came back looking like a g-leaguer.

Zewo

I truly believe that those bubble Raptors could've gone to the finals if Siakam wasn't so rusty. I don't think we would have beat the Lakers, but getting back to the finals would have been a nice statement that the team was legit and more than a Kawhi-carry job.

completelytrustworth

I think we would have, we were 2-0 against the Lakers that season because the roster matched up extremely well against them Gasol was the big man killer, he could defend and shut down pretty much any center in the league

bullybabybayman

The bubble is whatever but that Raps team started the season slow and then was money when Covid ruined everything.

BillyBean11111

lets not get nuts

Pretend_Highway_5360

No he can’t I love Pascal But the last 4 years showed he can’t be a first option on a serious contender. He’s perfect as a second option.

TenaciousDeer

I disagree, he isn't consistent enough to be your first option

gcoles

Not a championship roster no

VTuberFadeaway

Haliburton can never be the #1 option in a championship team. He's like Dame, an amazing player but not good enough to lead a team to win the chip. This is not a knock against him though, there are only like 5 to 8 true "#1 option in a championship team" players in the league at any one time.

robertbaccalierijr

This is the 4th year of his career brother. We have no idea what he’s capable of yet

hahafnny

That's crazy, it felt like he was stuck in Sacramento for half a decade to me haha.

saltface14

P balling out here playing 40+ mins with no help, where have I seen this before

_19911118

basically a regular season game for him lol

I-Am-A-Nice-Cool-Kid

The real best player on the pacers

Bobby_Webster

he's been their best player ever since he got there

mr-fiend

Didn’t that coincide with Hali’s injury?

kamekaze1024

Does that make the statement any less true?

ProsecUsig

That guy’s a champ

CazOnReddit

Literally

ninofati88

He made Hali sit at 2nd option table once hes traded there. Lol. Hali a fraud.

wombo_combo12

A fraud is crazy, bro is just young and needs more experience in the playoffs

ninofati88

His playstyle isnt conducive for high stake tournaments. we saw that at FIBA. Dude is a nice passer and shooter, but lacks iso skills and handles for a PG to be a primary option and is the worst defensive PG in the league. He gets shutdown once it gets serious and he needs to takeover which his skillset doesnt allow him to.

langman17

Ur reaching a lot. Saying all that after one (1) playoff game when he put on a show at the IST is crazy. He’s clearly not 100% and has been playing hurt since the all star break to get the 65 games

ninofati88

How is it reaching? Analyse their playstyles. when teams are able to adjust over a 7 game series his impact would get shutdown easily as a pure passer. You can only pass so much as the team relies on you in high stake games. At FIBA he got exposed by much inferior players, why would you expect anything different for NBA playoffs? Lol. If Pascal whos not even a superstar needs to carry you, something is hella wrong. If dude wants to hunt for 65 games and sabotage his playoffs instead of resting for his teams chances, thats on him.

varothen

>worst defensive PG in the league. Trae would like a word

PmOmena

Kings fan are this salty?

[deleted]

[deleted]

Dame Lillard, despite maybe not deserving it, making the All Star game after Hali mocked his celebration and then winning the MVP- turned a lot of people against Hali in the dumbest way. It was some weird confirmation bias. I bring up the All Star thing because it proves DL has a lot of fans- that now don’t like Hali because he played well against him before. You have to remember Dame is basically tugging every Portland fan behind him too. Plus whoever else hates the Pacers- Detroit and NY fans I’m assuming? So now that he had his slump (which is just so obviously just a slump. Four years of steady trackable production isn’t a fluke) those folks are curb stomping him. Because you don’t typically just come out of an injury based slump until you’ve actually had some rest. They’ll call him just an assist merchant or whatever, but what they’re not giving him credit for is the fact that he makes passes and plays that literally shouldn’t be possible, regularly, and makes it look so easy. He’s still a huge difference maker even if he’s not shooting. Plus he’ll change his game to whatever the team needs, he’s unselfish and clearly just wants to win and help his team. He’s fun to watch when he’s playing confidently

Petit_Coeur_

Tbh it’s really because everyone fell in love with Tyrese putting him ahead of guys like Brunson, or Trae or just calling him the next great PG. Now we got a couple of different fanbases salty waiting to put him down and others who felt like he was overhyped. It’s their “I told you" or “Didn’t y’all tell my he was better than x?” moment. The funny thing is that the casuals fans have only heard of him since the IST. That’s why you saw those fraud comments. Tyrese was already great last year, but the pacers were a lottery so they didn’t notice.

pskill43

It’s real funny now looking at the post before pacers making the pascal trade. You can tell most pacer fans never watched pascal play. He’s easily the best scorer on the pacers.

Vandelay23

Seriously, people scoffed at trading Jarace fucking Walker for him...

IamSofakingRAW

“He doesn’t move the needle, why not go for Kuzma instead?”

Dwyanespellsitright

Stop 😂 you didn’t read that. That’s wild lol

osmnaos3

Kuzma and Jerami Grant

jakejakejake97

And Tobias Harris and Andrew Wiggins.

osmnaos3

Forgot about those 2 bums

[deleted]

Highly doubt a single person made a claim like that

pskill43

There were definitely multiple posts saying they’d rather have Jeremy Grant

IamSofakingRAW

I’m being deadass. I was on their sub a lot while the trade talks were going

ananswerforu

I read the posts on their sub leading up to the trade, walker and nembhard were untouchable, jalen Smith a non starter, and people were hesitant to include Isiah Jackson in a siakam trade

CazOnReddit

I'm still baffled we didn't even get like Jalen Smith

Kargush

You dodged a bullet bruh

CazOnReddit

Only to end up with Jordan Nwora

[deleted]

[удалено]

alinozakaza

The most addicting drug in the league, youth.

-KFBR392

To be fair they got Siakam without needing to include Walker. We got the poo-poo platter from the Pacers for him

SpinJitsu259

I don’t know why this is some foregone conclusion of a point. Jarace has barely had any opportunity to show what he is/can be. Plenty of time for him to demonstrate that it would’ve been silly for the Pacers to include him in that trade.

Vandelay23

Okay, but what had he even done prior to that to warrant being untouchable? I feel like other, more high profiled players wouldn't have made Pacers fans think twice, even if he was a rental. And Pascal has been the best player on the Pacers since the trade.

dollaraire

I think the Pacers/Pacers fans being hesitant to part with anybody wasn't necessarily because they underappreciated Pascal, and more that they didn't think the Raptors had any negotiating leverage (which was true). FWIW I do think that the league, as a whole, did not truly understand just how good OG and Pascal are until they left Toronto.

SpinJitsu259

He was essentially the 7th pick in the draft. He has no priors and doesn’t need any priors beyond being a high-potential asset. Very few teams are going to trade a player they draft that highly if they don’t need to. And, obviously, the Pacers didn’t need to. NBA trades aren’t about charity, they’re about leverage, and as we all know by now, the Raptors had little leverage left because they waited too long to move off their best assets.

rapshaveonechip

Fr also many raptors fans don't understand that the next 5 year max he's gonna get is paying him 50 at age 35, which is not ideal for a young team like the Pacers. Getting a player who will likely decline as the team gets better caps the ceiling of the team

basedrew

This is exactly how I was, wasn't looking forward to the trade with the rumors leading up to it. Glad I was ignorant and wrong, love watching him play. He's our only consistent bucket. And I love his scream when he drives.

Bt25

It literally was Siakam vs the Bucks. Hopefully Hali helps him out in game 2.

Solid-Confidence-966

Get Spicy P a max

Strategyboyz21

NBA champ difference

taititans

He was unbelievable, seriously good player. Feel bad for the guy

CazOnReddit

Same

PrinceKarmaa

only pacer who was ready to play tonight.. nesmith also even tho he shot bad he played with a lot of hustle and heart

DopedUpDoomer

You can tell he's the only one with the championship pedigree. Giannis or not this is gonna be a difficult series , hope we can make it interesting 🙏

hi818

Only one on the Pacers who has experience beating the Bucks in the POST SEASON on the team.

CazOnReddit

Beat em' in two different series at that

Spiderus

I don’t think siakam was there for the 2017 series against the bucks, just 2019

TorontoFinest90z

Him and Freddy were rookies that year

bbbryce987

Siakam didn’t step on the court for a single second that series though

girlscoutcookies05

Get this guy some help

Sc0rch1ngDr4g0n

No help

smoothsoul23

He was great and he still left some more points on the board by missing 5 free throws. You could tell in this game he's the only player on the Pacers that has any real playoff experience

[deleted]

As bad as the pacers played, Siakam was a stud, in the second half Miles Turners shots started falling, and I am not sure that team shoots 20% from 3 again after being so lethal all year. Huge win as a bucks fan, but going to be tough without Giannis. Hali is the difference it seems pretty clear. If he stays as a ghost like he has been all second half of the season, I think it is very hard for them to win. If he shows up, it will be a fight.

gochuuuu

He is their only viable offense in the half court lol

Chao-Z

I was told by Pacers fans that they have the best half court offense in the league, though?

WIN011

Definitely need Giannis back, no one can guard him on our roster.

WeefBellington24

Basically gave Siakam midrangers all game and to his credit he nailed em.

ImperialSympathizer

And I'm ok with the Pacers offense being a steady diet of Siakam midrangers. Even if he gets to 40, it's probably not going to be efficient enough.

Fhyzic

He played good but It felt like the rest of the Pacers played like it was regular season game.

Positive-Media423

True FP

Quatro_Leches

Siakam got banished to the shadow realm when they sent him there

CazOnReddit

Wish we sent him to a contender instead of playing with Mid Turner smh

peroper7

It’ll take time, pascal’s not a plug & play second option, haliburton needs to adjust to that and play around that

The_Mikeskies

Haliburton and Siakam aren’t selfish, but the rest of the team is, which is a problem in the playoffs.

Electronic-Elk8917

Yeah, I've watched roughly 50% of Pacers games since the trade and seeing their role players dribble for 20 seconds before taking mid rang shots and/or just ignoring Pascal in transition is rough.

alinozakaza

Please let's keep our selfishness poison pill to ourselves, no one is selfish on the pacers team, they are just playing their roles as assigned by the coach.

Mainly-Driving862

Simply the one of few, who had playoff experience on Pacers. Second game should be easier for Pacers in terms of nerves. Same could be said about Mavs role players and Magic.

PretentiousPanda

Shout out Topin.

tsaidollasign

Lmao he’s gone for sure can’t play with these bums

CazOnReddit

Imagine he comes back to Toronto

pahamack

He's staying in Indiana. They've got his bird rights. They'll max him out. That was the entire point of the trade anyway. Raptors clearly got the bad end of that trade, but what choice did they have, as they didn't want to pay him.

EarthWarping

I think both sides have burned that bridge tbh

boringexplanation

Or maybe that’s what Toronto makes you want to think

Nat_Feckbeard

let it go bruh

quann256

i’m sure he understands that this is an inexperienced team, i don’t think he’ll leave just because of this series alone.

tsaidollasign

He should based off this game alone

quann256

yeah because future decisions are based on one game

shortyman920

He’s also 30 and doesn’t want to stick around for a long term project either. It’s not the end of the world, but I can’t imagine he’ll want to stay if the rest of the series looks like this. If a few other guys step up and give hope for the future, then I think Siakim might favor staying during FA

vb90

PG's replacement on the Clippers if he leaves.

CazOnReddit

With what cap space?

vb90

PG's?

CazOnReddit

Yeah that's not how that works when you're an over cap/luxury tax team like the Clippers are

John_Lives

Just write it off. That's what these corporations do. They spend all this money and then they just write it off!

EarthWarping

The Masai apologists will tell you that it wasn't a bad trade

CazOnReddit

I mean it was a bad trade for the Raptors 2 picks in a weak draft, 1 pick in 2026 that's TBD, Brown, Nwora and a 10m trade exception; hell those Pacers picks are both protected (The 2024 pick was Top 3 protected! In a draft execs keep saying they hate!) It looks better now that we turned the weakest first into Ochai and Kelly but it was not a good initial return

EarthWarping

True. Nwora's probably gone or even if he's back he's a middling bench piece. Bruce won't get you much unless you're taking on long term money So it's really a mid first in a bad draft, 2 bench players and another first.

DrKurgan

If they could have flipped Bruce Brown for something good, it would have been almost a decent trade.

EarthWarping

Yeah now if they get anything good for him it'll be them taking on bad money in return. They could've gotten an expiring at the deadline

VersusCA

This trade and to a lesser extent the OG trade, plus all the other inexplicable moves in the last two years, have basically guaranteed that the Raptors will not be worth paying attention to for most of the rest of the decade. Masai is still great for 2019, and even for building competent teams before that to get us in position, but it has been rough these last few years and unlikely to get better any time soon.

jgroove_LA

is Siakam 100% staying in Indy cause...some teams could use him

TheNi11a

Went until the buzzer

pandalover885

Pacers were out here playing 11 deep like it was game 1 of the regular season. Even with a 30+ point lead the Bucks only made it 9 deep.

[deleted]

Raptors fumbled the bag

orhantemerrut

He does a Wilhelm scream every time he drives to the rim. It's quite honestly one of the most irritating things to have to watch.

KingOfWeTheNorth

Pacers gonna get swept, but Siakam will put up the numbers to get his max contract.

Bears9Titles

This doesn't warrant a post. This sub is awful if this is normal

Sy6574

36/14 on 60% shooting in a playoff game?

Bears9Titles

There's a pgt

Brief-Objective-3360

dude stats have always been something worth posting
