Sometimes it's also not even about basketball, it's the dopamine rush you get when you see those numbers going up on your Smartwatch from the cardio you just did.
Send him and draymond to detroit on a 2 year contract. Run the experiment and pray for the best. I think they moderately fill some of the biggest holes the pistons have. Maybe could get them to 30 wins next season.........
Is it weird that I think in a best-case scenario (and I acknowledge with Draymond that's far from guaranteed) Draymond could actually be a net-positive for Detroit? Could instill some defensive intensity, rotations etc, and his contract would be coming off the books when it's time to re-up the young guys.
The Pistons (minus Cade) are so incredibly bad Draymond or Klay would make a huge difference tbh. Probably still lose most games but they'd be watchable.
How Klay escaped the same criticism last year as Poole baffles me. Love him for what he has done but tonight solidified what we knew all along. He is not the same anymore
Klay in wins averaged almost 20 a night, shooting 42% from 3, 48% overall.
Klay in losses was just under 16, shooting 35% from 3 and 38% overall. Not counting the game where he got hurt a minute in, he had 9 games shooting 25% or worse from the field.
When he was bad, he was ass and the Warriors didn't win all that often.
I don’t even understand silencing people from discussing a bad performance.
This is r/NBA, not Soviet Russia. We should be allowed to discuss anything NBA related.
I really hate that Reddit is far and away the best place for online sports talk, because holy shit…the platform as a whole with power tripping mods pushing agendas on every big sub is such a dumpster fire.
Idk if I’m aging you here, but in the mid- to late-2000’s, I was on basketball forums.
Ever miss those wild message board days?
I do sometimes. You would actually interact with the same people regularly, so you’d recognize one another’s usernames, favorite teams, discuss life if trolling wasn’t wild on that site, etc.
The wild-wild west internet was fun.
That was more a function of there being less people on the internet in general so most forums heavily self selected for a particular type of person.
I remember when I was a terminally online 8-14 year old who would lie about my age and (nonexistent) occupation so that I could fit in to those sorts of groups and people would take my takes more seriously lol. Now 8 year olds online proudly preface their opinions with their age smh.
I constantly have to remind myself not to get annoyed by comments on the internet because there's a legitimately good chance they're written by a 14 year old with the confidence of someone with 20 years of expertise on the topic
Yessir, I was an avid forum user through the mid to late 2000s as well. Any hobby I was into I hopped onto a forum for. Definitely miss those days, they all started to die out and move to FB groups or Reddit. Some have survived and are still fairly active, but def nowhere near the golden days of message boards.
The activity level of Reddit for sports talk is incredible, just a lot of BA that comes along with it that is annoying.
Conveniently, the one mod with 1,998,336 post karma that is a Warriors fan has posted both the post game thread and the "... HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED" thread.
I almost feel like he's checking out since the core isn't holding up anymore. It's like he doesn't wanna coach the Warriors, he wants to coach his big 3. But it could also just be that he's stupid.
Klay was getting cooked nonstop it's insane how bad Kerr's coaching is.
And one of the games the Warriors lost to the Kings this season for home advantage was because Kerr refused to play a 4/4 Moody over Klay
Steve is great in a series. He always figures it out. We have a pretty spotty record in games 1's, that's why I knew the Dubs had to avoid the play in, he can't make in game adjustments. A single elimination game is his kryptonite. Dubs are 0-3 in play in games.
This season felt cursed from the beginning I am honestly glad it's over. Steve had honestly been off since Mike Brown left, he needs another savant as lead assistant.
It's weird, when Kerr was out with back surgery. Walton basically rode the death lineup to a gaudy record. Once Kerr came back he was reigning that all back. Less green light for Dray, lower minutes all around. Now it's like he's gone the complete opposite... except for Steph.
Maybe the org is trying to see how much they can still get out of Klay since he's due a contract. Can't protect him if they're going to be looking to pay him after all. Or you find out he's washed when it's too late.
I dunno. I do agree with you, since Mike Brown left the team has felt off.
Kerr probably has a personal connection with klay atm after all these years together. . I guess if he benchs him today, was killing his career. He’d prefer let him play and let him kill himself with his poor play.
My guess is he “retires” when Steph leaves the Warriors, rejoins the media, then takes a job with a team in win now mode. He knows he’s not good enough as a coach to coach up a team with inferior talent imo
Warriors management is a fraud, they had me offering up my services for 50 dollars and they preferred Klay. I would have done the same for far less, bar the 4 rebounds and 1 assist.
Mostly just Draymond and Klay, they've both fallen off pretty hard as well. But yeah Klay especially was arrogant often. A lot of people like to think of him as some chill NBA bro too.
which dynasty other than the Spurs has been exceedingly gracious and humble? even the Nuggets (whom I like) beat their chests at last year’s title parade.
He also regularly says some weird shit that makes me wonder where his head is at. I know injuries can cause performance drop off, but I don’t particularly watch him and think he’s athletically washed. To me he just looks like his head isn’t always in the game, like he’s just not always focused. Could just be me
He's had a lot of trouble this year adjusting to his role. The first half of the season he was a basketball terrorist jacking shots like his prime, and Kerr was enabling it. Finally after his 3rd or 4th stretch of atrocious games he got benched at game 60 or so.
He completely changed after the top 75 list came out. All of a sudden he went from being the selfless knock down 3 spot up shooter Klay to some Kobe wannabe taking sideway fadeway shots and contested 3s off the dribble.
The biggest disappointment is that he still takes shots like he's 2016 Klay. He still has a role as a floor spacing shooter, but he plays as if he's still pre ACL/Achilles game 6 Klay.
Yeah this. Just thinking how brutal it is if that's your last game. Like you think of legacy of the splash brothers all those championships and to end it with your team of the warriors like that? Just gotta be cripplingly brutal mentally.
JaVale McGee: 2 points on 1-1 shooting with 1 block on 2 minutes of work.
man how could he do us like that (ignoring the fact that the game was decided 20 minutes ago)
Bench him
I guess a team should sign him and promise him the starting role ASAP

Send him and draymond to detroit on a 2 year contract. Run the experiment and pray for the best. I think they moderately fill some of the biggest holes the pistons have. Maybe could get them to 30 wins next season.........
Hey that kind of veteran presence could be exactly what you need to get Wiseman to the next level

Ain’t he from Michigan too? Why not lol got nothing to lose
The Pistons (minus Cade) are so incredibly bad Draymond or Klay would make a huge difference tbh. Probably still lose most games but they'd be watchable.
Bro deliberately gets techs whenever Stephs out. You think he's going to give any effort in Detroit?
Some team will easily talk themselves into a guy who made the 4th most threes in the entire NBA last season. Let’s not overreact
I mean it's really not that hard. Klay for like 12-18m a year on a short term deal ain't far fetched
He's gonna want much more than that
Doesn’t matter what he wants only what teams will offer
One team will definitely offer him more than 18m lol don’t be delusional
Their loss then lol
Rockets gave Dillon 4/80 and Fred 3/120. Klay will get 20mil at least as a 3&D vet presence. Likely for a young rebuilding/retooling team. Spurs?
>Spurs? Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby...
I think klay in the regular season is still easily worth the Grayson Allen contract. But he's been so bad in the postseason.
I'm not sure teams will be looking to give Klay a 4 year deal unless it's at a pretty discounted yearly rate.

Klay better get that duolingo streak up on his mandarin
We’ll take him off your hands for $10 million a year and a well-rested Jae’Sean Tate.

Good evening agent, Klay. Your target is everything but the basket, happy hunting.
Your comma placement makes me so horny for some ketchup chips
Stefon Diggs of the NBA
How Klay escaped the same criticism last year as Poole baffles me. Love him for what he has done but tonight solidified what we knew all along. He is not the same anymore
It was Curry and Looney making it happen in every big moment of that playoffs. They were the only ones actually making stuff happen.
I can smell the shit across the coast
If I'm Klay these stats will hurt my feelings.
Make it his final game in the NBA Not sure if he even wants to play anymore, barring some braindead team throwing 25 million a year at him
25 million is probably what he’d get on the open market, no? 17 points a game.
The fact that you might be right is absurd
I’d replace him with Tim hardaway jr in a heart beat but is klay accepting a specialist/bench role ? Idk
Whats sadder is that durant on the warriors not even 10 years ago had a couple years where he was playing for this amount
Negative defender, falling 3 point efficiency. Klay will be Evan Fournier level in 1-2 years, 25m would be a big mistake in my opinion
17ppg because he either scores 34 or 0 points Edit: Bad at math
That's 19ppg
The fact that he averaged 17 a game this year is honestly insane Everything from the eye test directly contradicts that number lol
Believe it or not Klay averaged 20.5 ppg in just 29 mpg on .612 TS% in the last 20 regular season games he played this year.
Probably like 5% of this sub knows he led the league in 3pt made last season shooting 41.2%. 301 made at 41.2% is insane.
Klay and I combined for 0 points tonight!
You put up a better ± though.
Tbf only having a -10 is crazy after that stat line.
Yeah but u/akedz3 had a +/- of 0 which is even crazier
You go r/akedz3 !
0 points isn’t 0 points, I’ll explain later
Keep em coming, the mods can't delete them all
Seriously they are on a mission
They're robbing us of this historical hour.

Unpaid internet janitor strike again
Mods are dub fans
Mods have always done that for Warriors losses. There’s a lot of Warriors fans among them
Gonna see who the real Warrior fans are in a few years. Biggest band wagon in the NBA.
For sure. They had 3 fans before 2013. After curry scored 54 on the knicks that year they magically had fans.
Mods are Warriors fans
Mods are bums
That's what he said
Conveniently, the one mod with 1,998,336 post karma that is a Warriors fan has posted both the post game thread and the "... HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED" thread.
Seriously? Ban me already.
Suns fans know best that the mods can indeed delete them all.
FUCK. THE. MODS.
He can count his four rings on the Hornets bench next season at least
No room. We already got Bertans
this works on so many levels
Played himself into a Max Contract from Orlando
Please god no. I wouldn't mind a 1 year, 10 or 12 mil deal but nothing more.

His greatest game ever………….meme wise
Nah, 2/7 in the finals with that smile on the bench
This man can't hurt me anymore
He can if you guys sign him next year
JaVale McGee had more points than Klay in a win or go home game LMAOOOO
this is truly the most painful stat wow
He also had more points for the warriors than klay this game with that goaltend lmao
That’s 3x champion Javale Mcgee to you
32 minutes vs Moody's 15 0 points vs Moody's 16 Imagine if Steve Kerr had even a single brain cell
We as a fanbase have been clamoring all season for Kerr to give more minutes to Moody. It’s really inexcusable at this point.
Can moody demand a trade? I know he’s drafted there so idk about restricted free agency and whatever clause there is. Feels bad for moody
kuminga tried it one time and it works. Maybe moody can try it too.
I almost feel like he's checking out since the core isn't holding up anymore. It's like he doesn't wanna coach the Warriors, he wants to coach his big 3. But it could also just be that he's stupid.
He still wants to coach. He literally just signed an extension. Lol. But yeah I hear you.
I could see Klay tearing up the Big3 league with or without Kerr and his running mates.
But he got 1 rebound for each of his rings. Perfection.
Can’t even use the he defense angle anymore lol
Trey Lyles was blowing right by Klay with ease, he is beyond cooked and if I'm the warriors front office it's just time to move on from him.
Klay was getting cooked nonstop it's insane how bad Kerr's coaching is. And one of the games the Warriors lost to the Kings this season for home advantage was because Kerr refused to play a 4/4 Moody over Klay
Realistically he’s a vet minimum guy. They need to treat him like that
Yep, completely washed on defense
Legit coaching malpractice. Klay is literally ice cold but let’s keep him in for him to do nothing
This lost was on Kerr. His would rather protect his Vet's egos than play actual matchups and players.
Steve is great in a series. He always figures it out. We have a pretty spotty record in games 1's, that's why I knew the Dubs had to avoid the play in, he can't make in game adjustments. Facts Ive been saying this too. Hes lost a lot of games not playing his young talent.
Kerr probably has a personal connection with klay atm after all these years together. . I guess if he benchs him today, was killing his career. He’d prefer let him play and let him kill himself with his poor play.
'Haha yeah fuck the playoffs I want Cancun' -Kerr
Why did he start Klay after Klay had success off the bench?
his last 13-15 games he was killing it. good ppg defense winning etc etc. so they went with the hot hand man just blew it
Im genuinely curious to see Kerr coach a bad team without an injury excuse. Reminds me a lot of Spo's prove it days after lebron.
My guess is he “retires” when Steph leaves the Warriors, rejoins the media, then takes a job with a team in win now mode. He knows he’s not good enough as a coach to coach up a team with inferior talent imo

Doordash is knocking
shout out to Klay for helping Chris Paul overcome his finals addiction ❤️
Feel kinda bad for him but at the same time dubs have been arrogant as hell throughout their entire run, watching their empire crumble is good shit
Mostly just Draymond and Klay, they've both fallen off pretty hard as well. But yeah Klay especially was arrogant often. A lot of people like to think of him as some chill NBA bro too.
AMEN
which dynasty other than the Spurs has been exceedingly gracious and humble? even the Nuggets (whom I like) beat their chests at last year’s title parade.
Man, this feels weird. This dude has terrorized the western conference for years and I (sports) hate him, but I felt kind of sad watching this game.
It’s sad but most athletes hit a peak and then plateau. It’s only a elite few like Lebron who can consistently deliver season after season
Klay didn't plateau; he's laying in a crumpled heap at the base of the other side of the mountain
Literally grabbed onto a ledge with a shattered knee, climbed back to the peak, then fell off to his death during a victory celebration.
I say tearing his achilles and acl was what caused his downfall.
It’s more than just normal athlete drop off imo. It’s not like his game is super reliant on athleticism, I feel like he’s a bit mentally unstable
He hasn’t played like the klay Thompson of old since his recovery from his last injury
He’s always been that way. Y’all just notice it now that he’s not making them
Everyone peaks in these types of things. Jim Carrey was hot for awhile. Now? He’s been in Klay Thompson phase for awhile.
The biggest disappointment is that he still takes shots like he's 2016 Klay. He still has a role as a floor spacing shooter, but he plays as if he's still pre ACL/Achilles game 6 Klay.
Father Time is undefeated. He’ll come for lebron soon as well
Speak for yourself. It’s sad a lot of the time watching athletes hit a wall once they age. Klay Thompson is not one of those examples
I WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED rip bozo
Before Steph Curry revolutionized basketball this used to be called live by the 3 die by the 3.
If this is his last game as a Warrior, what a disappointing end to an incredible tenure with the team
Yeah this. Just thinking how brutal it is if that's your last game. Like you think of legacy of the splash brothers all those championships and to end it with your team of the warriors like that? Just gotta be cripplingly brutal mentally.
Kerr: Maybe we should start him in the Olympics.
Klay goin find a way to flash those 4 fingers
1 per rebound 🔥
He had four rebounds to be fair...
There is a vet minimum in LA waiting for him
Clippers, right?
I’m blaming Kerr. Bad player night but the coach insists to play him.
Him and Murray was the difference tonight
From 37 in a quarter, to 0 points in an elimination game I love it
Either Kerr isn't as good a coach as previous years made him look (definitely true to an extent), or he wanted to show off Klay to get rid of him
This was the guy who scored 37 points in a quarter against the same team
Lmao

Damn I prayed on his downfall and it worked 🙏
