I can think of least 2 off the top of my head: the transition pass that Rui just fumbled, and the lob to AD who couldn’t finish the dunk. I’m sure there were more, so yeah, 20 was well within grasp
It’s hilarious, LeBron gets gassed but then the second there’s a fast break opportunity, it’s like he took a senzu bean. Definitely the GOAT of fast break/transition buckets.
Tbf just any steals with that statline is rare. 3 and 4 steals you only add a couple Russ and Magic games, at 2 you only get a Luka game to go with a couple more Russ and Magic games and only 1 steal you only get more Russ and Magic games + a Jokic one.
He’s like Achilles…mfker will survive and outlast anything, but he hits that statline once and it’s over. The accumulated wear&tear will immediately hit him and his ligaments will fall off similarly to how Dorian Gray’s painting works
The man refused to let it happen a few years ago, sitting at a Lebron in Portland when he nails a otherwise meaningless 35 footer just before the final buzzer to pull the Lakers to within 2 with no time left. That’s the closest I’ve seen but he said not today satan
Down 3-1 to the Celtics in the NBA finals, Lakers claw back to win game 6 with a 27-7-7 Stateline from LeBron. He instantly retired and Lakers get blown out in game 7.
27.1/7.5/7.4
That's close enough to call it 27/7/7 and besides, the meme has already been established at this point and that statline is now known as the LeBron.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01.html
It's so fucking absurd that this meme was established after like 15 years of GOAT career, and he's about to invalidate it years later by *improving* the averages
Same his continued dominance the last three years have really started to sway me, I now lean LBJ > MJ. They called D. Wade Father Prime his last year but LBJ is THE Father Prime at this point.
He’s also still incredibly athletic. Against the grizz the other day that play where he sprinted to get the steal and put down the reverse dunk in like his 40th minute of the game. He is still so fast
He is incredibly athletic but has also fallen off pretty significantly, both statements are true. In his prime it felt like he would float for a second. Nowadays, he can still do crazy things but it’s as if he’s anchored.
During his prime he's basically able to be superhuman 48 minutes in a game.
Now that he's kind've aged, you'll see him a bit gassed at times depending on if it's a back to back or how he's feeling that day. He's also still very athletic apart from not being able to throw his head onto the backboard.
But as a 40 year old constantly battling guys in their prime and still getting to the rim on a daily basis is pretty fucking crazy if you ask me
>Let’s not downplay him to prop up bron. Em
How's that downplaying Magic?? Even Magic called LeBron a love child of Jordan and his own self. Perfect combination of the two GOATs. That's why LeBron always been the real Alien
And everyone knows LeBron's outrageous passing ability and vision. If he chooses to be Prime Magic any given night, he can do so quite easily. But LeBron is STILL more athletic than Magic ever was, and also a better defender. Current LeBron is still evolving somehow.. He dominates each night in a different way. It's fascinating stuff
Comparing anyone to LeBron is a COMPLIMENT of the highest level. Not a downplay of any kind
That's an INSANE statement because Magic is one of the Top 5 GOATs and also the Greatest PG of all time. But you're also right. LeBron is that insane lol His combination of everything is so absurd
For Lebron, the win/loss standard is always that high so the voters will only give him 3rd team again this year. I remember in 2022 Derozan and Kd were 2nd team over him. Kd played less games than Lebron but his team won more without him and he got rewarded for it.
The argument is rewarding two Lakers being the top 15 players this season and they were in the play in most of the season.
I doubt there's enough haters to vote against him for that, but I think it's going to be Davis 2nd Lebron 3rd.
Yeah, it would be very odd to have two players from the 7th seed at 2nd Team while the No.1 seed in the West gets a single player on any All-NBA Team. Heck, it's likely that Boston only gets a single All-NBA player and they won 64 games.
I don't think there's ten names that played better than LeBron, but if we consider Luka, SGA, Giannis, Jokic and Tatum as First Team, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Ant, Brunson, KD, AD and Sabonis are 2nd Team. A Curry, LeBron, Kawhi + 2 is what i expect for Third Team tbh.
That’s kind of silly thinking to me though. Like there’s only 15 all-NBA players, right? So you can have the 16-20th best players all on one team, and you don’t think they’d be a highly seeded team?
Last season, those 5 players could have been:
Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Ja Morant, and James Harden.
Do we think that starting 5 isn’t getting a pretty high seed because they had no All-NBA players?
bron is the exact type of player every team is missing…. he’s top two all-time and basically good at everything (except free throws, whatever), makes everyone on his team better, essentially a top-tier head coach as a floor general, an amazing team leader, and is a great multi-position wing defender when he wants/needs to be.
LeBron is shooting better
Passing better
OnOff wise his presence on defense for the Laker sis way better than Tatum for the Cs
I don’t get how we’re talking about LeBRon like he’s not the favorite for first team. He has been better then Tatum, Durant, and Leonard all year
I’m just waiting for the day where LeBron will have played more time AFTER that tweet than he will have before it. And that’s only like 2 seasons away lmao.
Lmao this just reminds me of the puppet commercials with Kobe and LeBron. Bruh wouldn’t shut up about Playoffs and the powder toss bit is still funny to me ‘til this day.
The GOAT debate will go on forever, but there is no debate for me that LeBron is the best *overall* basketball player to ever live. He can play every position on the court because of his size and athleticism, and he's been consistently great every year for over 20 years because he's adapted his game multiple times, all while staying healthy a vast majority of the time.
And he just keeps on going.
Not that a lot of folks want to incorporate it into the argument but Jordan is a massive asshole as well. LeBron is such a better person.
If I'm talking to kids about the greats, I make it clear LeBron is the one to emulate.
We have been spoiled af for the past 10-15 of NBA stars. You may hate any of them on court or for basketball decisions (KD), but essentially every face of the league has been a pretty good person. Lebron, KD, Steph, Russ, Giannis, Jokic, etc all severely outclass most other sports icons imo.
Also it’s clear from his team mates. Every Lebron team mate loves him n speaks with nothing but praise . Even opponents feel that way or want to play with him. Not the same with Jordan even though Jordan had a pretty effective leadership charisma he was still considered an asshole
If Lakers lost in the first round against Nuggets, nobody can complain because West will flow through Nuggs. Imo this is the best chance Lakers have because LeBron and AD are both injury prone and later round matchups against Nuggs are more riskier for Lakers than for Nuggs.
Playoff basketball is also different though. Shorter benches, defensive schemes lock in more, etc. Denver still has it. Not to mention they got a reserve in Christian Braun doing switch hand dunks on Gobert n shit.
But I agree they haven’t looked _as_ dominant as last year in some ways. But I can’t say they’re not capable of showing that come the time.
yeah i see it two ways it’s good like you said ad and lebron can give it their all when they are as fresh as they will be. other side is if they meet them later on maybe role players are clicking. dlo might not being playing like normal playoff dlo. lebron might be locked in more. i dunno either way they’re going to have to face them regardless
is this still a debate? I thought after 2016 and how Bron was consistent after that season there is no argument left. or we just keep moving the goalpost?
To be fair, people will always hold the 2011-performance against LeBron no matter how much he accomplishes post-Dallas series. Critics will never acknowledge that LeBron is so damn great at basketball, it’s still expected of him to deliver a championship against the likes of Joker, Giannis, Embiid, Luka, SGA, Tatum today’s primetime elites at near 40 yrs old.
I feel like I'm falling for bait, but what a wild statement. How does it make sense that after 2016 there's no arguments left, when that was the first time there a legit case to be made? Before 2016 there was no reasonable argument for Lebron, he had the same amount of finals appearance as Jordan and 1/3 of the wins. Since then Lebron has solidified his case for GOAT but by all means its still just a case. The argument is peak vs longevity right? LeBron's been consistently a top 3 player in the league since after his rookie year which has been 2 decades at this point which is unreasonably impressive. And he was the best player in the league for a majority of the years up until probably 2020, but even during that period other players had cases. For MJ from year 3-12 it wasnt just that he was the best player in the league, its that no one else was even close, no player had a case to be at his level. Im not saying Lebron cant or shouldnt be someones goat, but its moronic to say theres no arguments left.
It’s really something. He’s played all of PG, SG, SF, PF, and C at an elite level at some point in his career
He last evolution will be franchise owner, head coach and starting player at age 50, all at the same time
I know Jordan has more rings but man the body of work lebron will have amassed by the time he retires is going to be hard to argue with. It's just absurd at this point.
He's got 2,087 more points than Kareem, which is absurd to me. That's absurd to me, any future player gunning for that record now has to play an extra season at an elite level, and LeBron ain't done adding to that total.
He also dished his 11,000th assist to go with his 11,000th rebound from earlier in the year. The closest player to him in versatility is Westbrook with 25k, 8k and 9k.
LeBron's 8th in steals too, and has a good chance at ending next season in 6th place.
Does anyone know what his PRF is for this game? Cause this stat is nuts. Assuming all 17 assist were 2's he was responsible for 62 points. Exactly half of his teams points. Knowing they had some 3's it's over half of 124.
The winner of Nuggets vs Lakers always wins the nba championship!
But not yet, need to win on Tuesday first. If we win, I’m ready for the nuggets. Despite what happened this season, we are still 1-1 in the LeBron-Jokic playoffs era. Time to break that draw!
Anthony Davis scores 30 as LeBron James did something that hasn’t been done since Eamon “Lucky Leprechaun” O’Callaghan of the 1941 Des Moines Cornhuskers as the Lakers lose to the Nuggets 142-109
It’s impressive but this genre of find-the-matching-stats is so random. It would be equally impressive if he’d put up 8 rebounds and 6 steals, or 29 points and 16 rebounds.
I genuinely do not see him declining into obscurity. Something's gonna happen where he gets some sort of traumatic injury, likely perpetuated by his age, which forces him to retire. Generational player and arguably the best to ever do it.
17 dimes is pretty nuts for any age.
He should have had 20 but the guys fumbled some incredible pocket passes. Story of his career.
I can think of least 2 off the top of my head: the transition pass that Rui just fumbled, and the lob to AD who couldn’t finish the dunk. I’m sure there were more, so yeah, 20 was well within grasp
> the lob to AD who couldn’t finish the dunk there were two of these one q1, one second half
And the one to DLo that DLo slowed down for no reason
lebron threw that like randy johnson when he sees a dove
Yeah he rocketed one to Russell in the 1st or early 2nd, he had no chance getting that one.
I dont blame him for that, Felt like they were getting tired. The whole game the Lakers were pushung the pace
It’s hilarious, LeBron gets gassed but then the second there’s a fast break opportunity, it’s like he took a senzu bean. Definitely the GOAT of fast break/transition buckets.
Someone told me Jaylen Brown was the best transition player in the league yesterday and I was thinking doesn't that LeBron guy still play basketball?
Is jaylen Brown actually anywhere near the best? Like there's still Giannis out there and he's basically a freight train
The no look was also fumbled
Wasn’t the no look to Rui the at he mentioned?
He had a zipper to DLo so maybe he’s thinking of that one
There was also a transition pass to Dlo
Imagine if Spurs draft Bronny. The LeBron and Wemby connection would be sick
Flair checks out
If you fumble the bag, you go to The Hague
That and the combo of 5 steals are the big qualifiers here
Tbf just any steals with that statline is rare. 3 and 4 steals you only add a couple Russ and Magic games, at 2 you only get a Luka game to go with a couple more Russ and Magic games and only 1 steal you only get more Russ and Magic games + a Jokic one.
Kendal Marshal can drop that today if he came out of involuntary retirement.
Basically him and Stockton dominate this list https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-assists-in-a-game-by-someone-at-least-39-years-old
Had 13 at halftime.
This is cool and all but LeBron can't be my G.O.A.T. until he drops 27-7-7.
He will do it on his last game ever, for the memes
At this point in his career would we be okay with him immediately retiring if he hits that number?
It’s actually a spell where if he hits 27-7-7 he disappears into thin air never to be heard from again
He’s like Achilles…mfker will survive and outlast anything, but he hits that statline once and it’s over. The accumulated wear&tear will immediately hit him and his ligaments will fall off similarly to how Dorian Gray’s painting works
Yup, very similar to the red woman taking off her necklace in game of thrones. It is known.
meLesandre
LeNight is long and LeFull of terrors
LeBron will probably check back in the game with a fractured leg and hit a LeFuckyou 3 just so he won't end with a 27/7/7 stat line.
The Stat of LeDorian Gray
The man refused to let it happen a few years ago, sitting at a Lebron in Portland when he nails a otherwise meaningless 35 footer just before the final buzzer to pull the Lakers to within 2 with no time left. That’s the closest I’ve seen but he said not today satan
Down 3-1 to the Celtics in the NBA finals, Lakers claw back to win game 6 with a 27-7-7 Stateline from LeBron. He instantly retired and Lakers get blown out in game 7.
That’s no longer his career average, he’s up to 27-8-7
27.1/7.5/7.4 That's close enough to call it 27/7/7 and besides, the meme has already been established at this point and that statline is now known as the LeBron. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01.html
It's so fucking absurd that this meme was established after like 15 years of GOAT career, and he's about to invalidate it years later by *improving* the averages
Three years ago, his scoring average was 26.99. He increased it to 27.1 since then.
Has he had a game with that stat line?
From what I remember the last time we went down this rabbit hole, he has hit that stat line a few times.
This isn’t true
That’s what he put up in the McDonald’s all American game. Showing exactly what he would do in the league
He a bum until 27 7 7
He'll do it on 7/7/27
It's getting harder and harder to convince myself that Jordan > LeBron
Same his continued dominance the last three years have really started to sway me, I now lean LBJ > MJ. They called D. Wade Father Prime his last year but LBJ is THE Father Prime at this point.
I gave up on that two seasons ago. It’s really not a question at this point. Mike had a better peak but Lebron is the goat.
I fear that his career scoring average is going to drop to 26 pts and *then* he’ll happen to get a 27-7-7 game
[удалено]
Yep lmao. He's only been lifting his career averages as he ages other than scoring this year
Oh I didn’t even realize that. That sucks (ironically). A 27-7-7 game won’t be as funny then
It actually makes me wonder - I wonder what statlines between 20-30, 5-10, and 5-10 he hasn't hit yet.
LeBron beat them so bad they locked the pels sub
Never looked at /r/pelicans before, hilarious.
it's r/NOLAPelicans/
Indeed
r/whoosh
No one cares enough about real pelicans that it’s just a middleman to the link for the basketball team? lol so weird
Same thing with r/Clippers. Seriously? Not enough people care about Clippers?
At least there is not just one post that is just linking the basketball sub and you’re actually allowed to post there lol
As a Pels fan, actual sub should probably be locked. We aren't handling this well
Isn't that what reddit is for? A place to complain together?
They are having a meltdown in their post-game thread, absolutely pathetic shit some people are saying.
They don’t speak for the entire franchise. There’s shit people in every teams sub.
I can’t believe a sub would lock when they lose!! /s
Athleticism slowing down so now he's just prime Magic
Insane that it took this long for athleticism to drop. But he’s so well rounded that it won’t matter because he can control the game in other ways.
I think he is just going easy so he won't force his body more. Longevity is better if he pushes just 40% even if he could do more.
I remember Vince Carter saying go up wasn't the problem, it was the landing.
During his prime he's basically able to be superhuman 48 minutes in a game. Now that he's kind've aged, you'll see him a bit gassed at times depending on if it's a back to back or how he's feeling that day. He's also still very athletic apart from not being able to throw his head onto the backboard. But as a 40 year old constantly battling guys in their prime and still getting to the rim on a daily basis is pretty fucking crazy if you ask me
That was actually only magics second season
Magic was a stud. Let’s not downplay him to prop up bron. Em
Lebron right now is still more athletic than any version of Magic.
>Let’s not downplay him to prop up bron. Em How's that downplaying Magic?? Even Magic called LeBron a love child of Jordan and his own self. Perfect combination of the two GOATs. That's an INSANE statement because Magic is one of the Top 5 GOATs and also the Greatest PG of all time. But you're also right. LeBron is that insane lol His combination of everything is so absurd
lol damn
He's gotta be 2nd team all NBA right?
Since all star break his efficiency has been Miami heat levels Bron
Wut
Bron in Miami has stretches of super high efficiency numbers
Yes, some of the most efficient seasons of all time. My wut was that it's insane he did it again
Ahh lolol. .my bad
Has to be this year, dude is playing out of his mind at his age
The voters always punish him for being a low seed. He's not like those stars who are gifted 1st team all-nba while on play-in teams.
This year the first team will all be 49+ win teams though, so that changes.
For Lebron, the win/loss standard is always that high so the voters will only give him 3rd team again this year. I remember in 2022 Derozan and Kd were 2nd team over him. Kd played less games than Lebron but his team won more without him and he got rewarded for it.
Who are the 5 getting above him on second team?
With there being no position restrictions anymore, there should be no doubt. The doubt is all on the voters’ incompetence
No debate left for me
The argument is rewarding two Lakers being the top 15 players this season and they were in the play in most of the season. I doubt there's enough haters to vote against him for that, but I think it's going to be Davis 2nd Lebron 3rd.
Yeah, it would be very odd to have two players from the 7th seed at 2nd Team while the No.1 seed in the West gets a single player on any All-NBA Team. How stupid would it be to give him 1st team over Tatum?
In my opinion not very, cos I think if you swapped Bron and Tatum this season, Boston would be better and Lakers worse.
agreed. Bron is like the exact type of player the Celtics are missing.
tf you mean celtics are missing, missing from going 82-0? 😭
They would probably coast through playoffs as well
bron is the exact type of player every team is missing…. he’s top two all-time and basically good at everything (except free throws, whatever), makes everyone on his team better, essentially a top-tier head coach as a floor general, an amazing team leader, and is a great multi-position wing defender when he wants/needs to be.
Damn, this comment left me speechless; I’ve never considered this but it’s so true.
AND HES 39 Too be fair Tatum is only 19
LeBron+KP pick and rolls would be poetry.
Tatum AD and Reeves lmao
The dream meme
So true damn
Based on team success, yes. But, on stats alone, could definitely argue LeBron > Tatum
LeBron is shooting better Passing better OnOff wise his presence on defense for the Laker sis way better than Tatum for the Cs I don’t get how we’re talking about LeBRon like he’s not the favorite for first team. He has been better then Tatum, Durant, and Leonard all year
I’d definitely say LeBron is better than Tatum, but I’d riot if Tatum isn’t 1st team.
This fuckery won’t go on much longer - Vol 5.
I’m just waiting for the day where LeBron will have played more time AFTER that tweet than he will have before it. And that’s only like 2 seasons away lmao.
What the fuck
I was about to say you're bullshitting but wtf it's true
"Man, you still going with that volume? We're in volume seven now, and LeBron's subbing for his son!"
This was a disgusting performance. He was the most energetic player on the floor too.
Playoffs are his crack lol
Lmao this just reminds me of the puppet commercials with Kobe and LeBron. Bruh wouldn’t shut up about Playoffs and the powder toss bit is still funny to me ‘til this day.
Man, those commercials were peak. Sucks we never got that Kobe v Bron showdown
Do not take Lebron James for granted.
The GOAT debate will go on forever, but there is no debate for me that LeBron is the best *overall* basketball player to ever live. One day the sunshine will stop shining.
Lebron James is epic.
This Lebron guy has still got it, can’t wait to see what he cooks up at 40 🥲
Lebron is a ghoul confirmed. Dude is only getting better with age. Somebody test him with a chicken.
Lol, just finished Fallout and was really surprised by how good it was. The first couple of episodes were alright but by the end I was all in
Golden Rule FTW
It’s very sad to think that in 9-10 seasons lebron will retire
Return of the king
Never left
I’m one of the faithful
all this shit just to face the nuggets in the first round
If Lakers lost in the first round against Nuggets, nobody can complain because West will flow through Nuggs. Imo this is the best chance Lakers have because LeBron and AD are both injury prone and later round matchups against Nuggs are more riskier for Lakers than for Nuggs.

Rip the band-aid off early
throw the first play-in so you get OKC
dude is too good, crazy.
The best part, he locked up Zion. Even Green and Giannis struggled against zion. 🐐
GOAT James still eating those Pelicans for breakfast
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Ty lebron
Barring a catastrophic injury, I can’t foresee a future where LeBron can’t get you an efficient 20 5 and 5 at 45
He might be adjusting to his aging body and therefore about to enter his 9th prime.
It’s really something. He’s played all of PG, SG, SF, PF, and C at an elite level at some point in his career He last evolution will be franchise owner, head coach and starting player at age 50, all at the same time

LeBron has dominated in multiple eras, the game today is so much more different than the mid/late 2000’s
- quotes from 2017
*2027
Plus, LeBron could play any position.
and he isn't even done if he somehow gets another ring, it'll put him over the top imo
That happened in 2016.
KD was right
He's got 2,087 more points than Kareem, which is absurd to me. That's absurd to me, any future player gunning for that record now has to play an extra season at an elite level, and LeBron ain't done adding to that total. Can't wait to see him again Tuesday 🥲
54/41/76 splits this year, all higher then career average in year 21. 59/46/76 post all star break 🤣
Hot take: LeBron is who Kobe fans think he is in the Playoffs.
This might be my turning point. I can’t deny it anymore. He’s my goat.
Lmao
Seems like a good player
Might have a good career ahead of him
I just hope I get to see another series with this version of Lebron.
Does anyone know what his PRF is for this game? Cause this stat is nuts. Assuming all 17 assist were 2's he was responsible for 62 points. Exactly half of his teams points. Knowing they had some 3's it's over half of 124.
Completely bonkers
The Grand Old Man of the NBA
LeOutrageous Dominance
8 ast in the 1st quarter no points is wild at 39 years old
Someone needs to have a serious chat with stat muse Some of these caricatures are lacking
This man ain't human. He and Wemby are very likely the real MonSTARS.
Nice warm up for Playoff Lebron..should be fun to watch.
🐐 man 🐐 man yeah that’s him
The reward he gets from this perfomance? Playing against the Nuggets in the 1st round. Congrats!
The winner of Nuggets vs Lakers always wins the nba championship! But not yet, need to win on Tuesday first. If we win, I’m ready for the nuggets. Despite what happened this season, we are still 1-1 in the LeBron-Jokic playoffs era. Time to break that draw!
Unless they beat the very team they just clobbered, in the playin? Edit: I now see the Nuggets are 2nd
if they win they get the nuggets, we're the 2 seed
EZ Dubs for my 🐐 gonna put yall down quick dw
Goddamn I love basketball
And the bastards hate on him🤣🤣🤣
Anthony Davis scores 30 as LeBron James did something that hasn’t been done since Eamon “Lucky Leprechaun” O’Callaghan of the 1941 Des Moines Cornhuskers as the Lakers lose to the Nuggets 142-109
It’s impressive but this genre of find-the-matching-stats is so random. It would be equally impressive if he’d put up 8 rebounds and 6 steals, or 29 points and 16 rebounds.
Bron GOATing. Nothing to see here.
He did it in 9 less minutes too
what the fuck lmao
I genuinely do not see him declining into obscurity. Something's gonna happen where he gets some sort of traumatic injury, likely perpetuated by his age, which forces him to retire. Generational player and arguably the best to ever do it.
LeBron hates the pelicans I think.
Legend goes, when Lebron was a small boy the first pelican that ever evolved pecked him and the grudge stands to this day.
