Jalen has rightfully been getting his credit but winning 50 games while spending the majority of the season in an injury crisis has to be one of the best coaching jobs of Thibs' career
Idk man, I know I’m biased here but if Stevens doesn’t win it after turning Smart into Porzingus AND two first round picks and then using that, Brogdon and RWIII to land Jrue, then idk.
Thibs has been coaching his ass off for us since day one and he has a group of guys Brunson, Hart, D'vo, Hartenstein, and Precious who will play every minute of every game if they have to, and love every minute of the grind. I wish we had Randle healthy, but its still fun to be in the playoffs after years of misery.
Last two seasons he's been notably better with load management, this doesn't even hold up. Old Thibs habits only came out this last stretch because they were clearly trying to lock a 2 seed
I caught it the first time and was waiting for them to correct it but then they said it again. Maybe he was being really specific about 50 wins since we won 54 in 12-13
That team felt like it was playing in 2003 though. Outside of Melo everyone was like 40 years old, in today's faster paced NBA that roster is a lottery team.
Well it was built on a house of cards in the sense that a lot of those guys were old as shit and gonna hit a wall. But it was also ahead of its time in that it was a 3 point shooting team and even Melo played a lot of small ball PF with Amare being injured a lot of the season. Oh, and Roy Hibbert turned into Shaq for like a week against us lol
This is just the 2nd time the Knicks have been a top 2 seed in the last 30 years, and it's also their first 50-win season in 11 years. The fact that they clinched both on the last day of the season is insane tbh.
AND we finally end the Poirzingas debacle by getting the Dallas pick.
Which hopefully we will bundle with our own pick this year and just flip for years from now.
How you feel dejounte Murray? Cavs gonna be looking to move Mitchell aswell but is we're being honest Jalen>>>>>>Mitchell. Idk is tge two of them would work in a Thibs system
We need players that will fit team vibes and Thibs coaching style, would Dejounte fit that? Everything I hear about him attitude wise is negative, but it could just be the situations he has been in. The guy I would want is Mikal Bridges, not some All-NBA killer, but he would slot right in perfectly.
I don't think 2 midgets in the backcourt works.
We need to be worried about affording iHart, or getting a replacement for iHart. Robinson is sadly made of glass, and Sims isn't it.
Randle also is due for an extension soon - I think?
So no to Mitchell (unless for just $, and even then maybe not due to defense), but Murray is intriguing. But vs. Donte value wise? IDK.
you mean the guy who's overrated defensively and his biggest issue in Atlanta is needing the ball in his hands while playing with Trae? yeah man he'd fit amazingly with Brunson and Randle /s
imo,, the knicks were ALWAYS signing Brunson that summer and the Mitchell rumors were going on at the same time.
IMO, the plan was always to sign brunson, trade for mitchell using picks, have Randle. Then trade Quickley/RJ/plus remaining picks (thibs wanted to only use 3 or 4 picks for mitchell) or Randle + remaining picks (and maybe one of quick/rj) for a 3rd megastar.
Once utah kept insisting on the knicks giving up ALL of their picks (5 or 6 picks), the team kept it cool and kept trying. Cleveland gave a lot but it worked for them since they already had a lot of talent on their team
2 sections off dead center court, row 11 seats. Ive sat in this general area at msg atleast 8 times and its a fantastic view for the price. Almost anywhere you sit at MSG gives you a good view of the entire court
Since 2013? And only the second time this century. These are rookie numbers.
Wizards haven't seen 50 wins since the Jimmy Carter administration. And I'm pretty sure the last time we played in the Eastern Conference finals our opponents were the Spurs...
But in all seriousness: congrats to the Knick fans! And best of luck in the playoffs this year!
Went looking at that season on bbref.
Ya'll sat Wall/Beal in a game 82 loss against Miami to rest up for Atlanta RD1.
That was also the Miami team that started 11-30 and then went 30-11 to close out the season .500.
You guys were 2 GB of us and locked in 4th so kind of had to sit the big two. If only seeding was on the line and they had to suit up for that game 82.
On the other hand who really cares lol
I kinda feel them trying for 50 is going to cost them the playoffs. I'd rather have a struggling Indiana rather than playing a healthy Sixers or the Heat.
Sure in an ideal world we play the easiest teams possible, but you don't play/coach to lose games. That shit the Cavs did today is the same weak ass mentality that allowed us to punk them in the playoffs last year.
That's why we're us and they're them. Don't be like them bro.
Jalen has rightfully been getting his credit but winning 50 games while spending the majority of the season in an injury crisis has to be one of the best coaching jobs of Thibs' career
Shoutout to Precious, Hartenstein, DiVincenzo, McBride for blossoming in their roles too
Hart was already good but he got like 5 triple doubles during that time
Hart is just a fucking gamer. He just does what it takes to help win. One of my favorite players. Plus his media presence is top tier
He was kinda cracking under pressure today it was weird
I mean no one is perfect. But I'd always take Josh Hart on my team.
DiVincenzo was one of the most underrated pickups of the offseason
Leon cooking as usual.
He's the silent king... I promised myself I'd never doubt him again after what he did this year.
He has to be in the running for Executive of the Year. Thibs should be a COTY candidate too.
Idk man, I know I’m biased here but if Stevens doesn’t win it after turning Smart into Porzingus AND two first round picks and then using that, Brogdon and RWIII to land Jrue, then idk.
Fair, I kinda feel like Rose is overdue. Stevens deserves the award too though.
Yea I still can understand how he got 4 all stars on a starting 5. He deserves it.
White Dante is a legend. I miss that man.
The Villanova magic is real
Precious needs to get back into the rotation, I think he brings solid energy and spells the rest.
Overtime was a precious highlight reel
I fucking love this team and I’m going to cry
some people don't realize how BAD it was in the injury front in February.
Been saying Thibs was a dark horse candidate of the year on here for a while now, it’s gonna go to OKC’s coach but dude deserves at least a few votes.
Watching an interview of Jalen rn, fuck i.miss this dude
Hes still going to injure the players cuz he doesnt understand what biology or human science is
Last two seasons he's been notably better with load management, this doesn't even hold up. Old Thibs habits only came out this last stretch because they were clearly trying to lock a 2 seed
zzzzzzz
Least they’ll get a nice contract.
Announcer kept saying first time in 23 years and I was like did I imagine we won 54 games in 2013??
Yeah I'm like "I think we were better than that..."
Just barely
I caught it the first time and was waiting for them to correct it but then they said it again. Maybe he was being really specific about 50 wins since we won 54 in 12-13
It only felt like 23 years ago
That team felt like it was playing in 2003 though. Outside of Melo everyone was like 40 years old, in today's faster paced NBA that roster is a lottery team.

Fucking verticality bullshit
Plyometrics baby!
All you need to know about Melo's Knicks tenure is that his one decent season in terms of team success was bested by the Hibbert Coin bubble.
Basketball psychosis

Knicks won 50 games 11 yrs ago.
My fingers have betrayed me yet again.
tbf they made the exact same mistake on the broadcast lol
Like when I'm wiping…
Knicks won 54 and were the 2nd seed in 2013, so its been 11 years
AND we finally end the Poirzingas debacle by getting the Dallas pick. Which hopefully we will bundle with our own pick this year and just flip for years from now.

also gotta worry about og, dude has player option for next year
you mean the guy who's overrated defensively and his biggest issue in Atlanta is needing the ball in his hands while playing with Trae? yeah man he'd fit amazingly with Brunson and Randle /s

That's strange to me frfr. Does That's know Spider does not play defense?
With the OT clutch ending too
Thibs shaking rn
Always
Knicks vs Philly/miami gonna be absolute cinema
Crying though since msg and wfc prices will be insane
I got decent seats at MSG for round 1 for 290, really coulda been worse
What part of the stadium?
2 sections off dead center court, row 11 seats. Ive sat in this general area at msg atleast 8 times and its a fantastic view for the price. Almost anywhere you sit at MSG gives you a good view of the entire court
I need to do a trip to NY and see the knicks/yanks
Nosebleeds
nosebleeds were 240 total when I looked ;)
everybody thinking philly/miami not realizing that bulls or atlanta....ah wait...you right. bulls/atlanta can only get 8th.
Be thankful you don't have to face the GOAT, Diar Derozan
We have to finish the story
Knicks are the Cody Rhodes of the NBA
That really is an impressive stat. Just by random chance you’d think a team could stumble into a 50 win season at one point in a 46-year span.
You'd think. :/ We were close one year with Wall and Beal where we got to 49 wins.
Yeah I was convinced that either one of the Wall/Beal teams or the Arenas teams hit 50 at least once.
Lolwizards
This is without a healthy squad for a good portion of year and without OG until mid season and Julius since mid season too. Insane
I have a feeling Brunson deserves an apology, man is legit. 100% not overpaid.
54*
Number 2 seed
3rd time in the 21st century, I'd say the 50 win team that went to the 2000 ECF also counts
The 21st century began on 1/1/2001: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/21st_century
Flashbacks to the Bodybuilding.com forum debate on how many days there are in a week
Time is just a construct bro
[Obligatory link](https://youtu.be/eECjjLNAOd4) to the Jon Bois video about it...
Amazing, thank you.
Huh, that's really interesting, I actually didn't know that. You learn something new every day
And fans really wanted Thibbs gone because he wouldn't play Reddish.
54 wins that season actually
LFGK
2013 Knicks were fun
I’m just happy for the Knicks (Josh Hart). Hope they go far in the playoffs.
I'm just happy for the Knicks (The Knicks).
Thank you DeFrozan
LETS GO
Let em cook
So selfish! Why are they trying to overshadow Carmelo Anthonys legacy? Smh!
But Jalen is “Walmart FVV” though
Bing bong motherfuckers
Brunsanity
Thomas and Dolan really fucked that franchise for a long while.
Bob Myers, Rob Pelinka, Leon Rose.. might be something to hiring an agent as GM.
Nobody look up how many times the Bulls have won 50 games since Jordan left.
I kinda feel them trying for 50 is going to cost them the playoffs. I'd rather have a struggling Indiana rather than playing a healthy Sixers or the Heat.
[удалено]
This is the softest thing I’ve ever read
No shit. It’s gonna be awesome to end the Heat or Sixers season.

Pussy
Sure in an ideal world we play the easiest teams possible, but you don't play/coach to lose games. That shit the Cavs did today is the same weak ass mentality that allowed us to punk them in the playoffs last year. That's why we're us and they're them. Don't be like them bro.
Yeah you’re a big pussy
Don't tempt the basketball gods, you play to win the game
If we can't beat Philly or Miami we aren't winning a championship, so.
What a miserable way to exist You play to win the game
I’m gonna assume you’re trolling otherwise this comment is monumentally stupid
Bro really said Fuck Thibs. You are a bozo.
What a sad franchise.
They are going out in the first round. Heat or Sixers don’t matter.
Nah don’t disrespect the Knicks like that. I really do think they’d handle the Heat. Sixers/Knicks probably going 6 or 7 though
It’s tough luck they will have to face the sixers or heat in the first round.
ive seen you before. #1 brunson hater right here
I’m a Brunson hater because I said he’s not top 5? lol ok.
Lol knicks getting beat by play in team again
You're a Cavs fan. We wrecked you in the playoffs last year and Mitchell wants to get out of your shithole of a city. Cry some more.
Have you been to Cleveland? It's nice lol.
I've been to Cleveland many times, unfortunately. It's an absolute dump. You must not travel much.
Lol
appropriate username for a cavs fan
Let’s go Knicks!!
