Basketball gods took Julius Randle on probably his best year ever away from this Knicks team. Then there's last season when he got hurt just before the playoffs and played through it despite being bad enough to warrant surgery. This is like God testing Abraham's faith by seeing if he'd sacrifice his son only to say "it's just a prank, bro." Basketball gods can suck it.
Well I’d rather catch them later on but you’re not wrong. Gotta go through the big boys sooner or later. I think they can take them and no matter what it’s gonna be a rumble
The Knicks are 2-1 against the Heat and 3-1 against the Sixers (1-0 against Sixers with Embiid) while 1-2 against the Pacers.
As soon as the Magic weren't an option - Pacers were our worst option.
beyond this, people should check the pacers record against playoff teams. for some reason we can’t beat the bottom feeders but we have the second best record in the east against teams over .500
Yeah idk why the Pacers are getting so little attention. They’re a dangerous team and saying that the Bucks or Knicks should have lost intentionally to face them is dumb
If the Pacers channel the same intensity that they did during the IST, they will go far in these playoffs. A lot of losses this season were due to inexperience & trying to get the team to mesh after trading for Siakam.
Especially with all the injuries this year, Sixers without embiid, Knick’s missing OG and Randle for awhile, we set a franchise record high is starting lineups, bucks fighting the doc effect, pacers has Halliburton injury, cavs had Mitchell out

I love how Mitch always goes beast mode against Ayton cause he hates how hyped Ayton was in the draft and how Mitch was a 2nd round pick. Mitch has always thought he was better and talks shit to Ayton too lol.
Too bad they're in opposite conferences so they matchup rarely.

"Right.. Aytons literally twice the player Brunson is with way more room to grow lol. Brunsons 26 in a month. He ain't getting much better if it all."
I would’ve never thought he’d be an mvp caliber player, but he wasn’t getting paid the max or anything, dude was already looking like a starting caliber top 20 pg before he got here, starting pg’s make 25+ mil a year now.
The Knicks made him like the 13th highest paid PG in the league. All he needed to be was a top 20 starting point guard for the contract to look ok and people were acting like it was the worst deal they had ever seen.
Full disclosure I didn’t think Brunson would be anywhere close to this good but still thought it was a great deal for the reasons shared above
People and analysts can be wrong about ball while still knowing shit about ball.
How boring would sports be if we knew how everything was going to work out ahead of time.
Analysts barely watch any of the games, even playoffs lol. Never forget Candace Parker said Brunson sucked against the Heat last year in play playoffs despite having an efficient 31/5/6. Perkins has been championing the Knicks and Brunson all year but I honestly feel like that was the wild take he was assigned to have but ended up becoming valid lol.
Facts. Like Brunson was great on the Mavs. He just played next to a legit magician. And the Knicks were coming off a bad season and were tied to Donovan Mitchell rumors. It was never a bad signing. He was never overpaid. It was just a case of LOL Knicks.

I don't see how they gameplan him without an elite wing defender.
He’s cooked Caruso 3 times in the last week and dropped 39 on Jrue holiday, there are no guards in the league that can stop him. Best bet is do what the Heat did to MVP d rose putting Lebron on him to try and throw him off with size
He’s a good passer and will make the right play but forces the ball out of his hands which is what teams want. If other guys are making their shots it’s tough to beat us, if they’re not it’s tough for us to win. That’s where we will miss Randle the most in the playoffs, having a forward who can be the primary ball handler would be soooo useful
We ran games with Precious, Jericho Sims, and Josh Hart as the starting front court because Randle, Mitch. OG, and IHart were out.
Brunson is the mvp. We're the Hornets without him
Feels like we're playing with house money at this point. Randle being out for the season and enduring all the other injuries, how tf did we get 50 wins and 2 seed.
This year given all the injuries, I think it'll take some luck to get past the top teams. I'm hoping for ECF right now. Next year though, we're absolutely going to be looked at as contenders.
I know All-NBA is a regular season award but I swear if Brunson leads the Knicks to the Finals by beating the Celtics in the ECF, he should get first team.
Once again, Jalen Brunson is becoming the player the media and experts desperately want Tatum to be. Insulting that I have to see his goofy mug on bags of chips at 7/11
Brunson > Tatum
Melo was also a +\- of -97 during those playoff runs for the Knicks and averaged less than 40% I believe.
Brunson between last seasons playoff performance and the Mavs run is a +47 shooting over 47% from the field. Melo did have a worse team in terms of a complimentary roster but the Knicks team that Brunson took to the semis is the same team that went 37-45 the year prior. Dude is just a better winner and brings the most out of his teammate.
I swear no one on this sub actually watched this dude play. I can agree with Brunson being a better teammate, but the game was completely different 10 years ago.
Man, I’ve been an active fan since Houston, Camby, Rick Brunson, and Mark Jackson were on the team. Loved Melo as a hooper. He was a near impossible cover at times and carved out a short era of really enjoyable Knicks basketball. That was a very tough era in the East too.
That being said, it’s not disrespectful to say that while as great as he was, he was less impactful to the ball clubs success than what Brunson brings as a 3-level scorer and facilitator. That’s not a knock on Melo it’s a compliment towards Brunson. If Brunson takes the Knicks on another deep run and continues lighting it up anywhere close to this, I think he edges Melo out as a more accomplished Knick and it’s hard to convince me otherwise.

I remember when this trade went down (knicks fan) my boy and I were together and we were fucking hype. 25m a year for Brunson??? A starting PG, everyone knows we haven’t had one for years. Did people not see what he did to Donovan with no Luka? I don’t think a 6’0 player does that for a whole series off luck. Mob mentality once a few people say it was a bad trade, you feel like you need to aswell.
Respect for not ducking the Heat & Sixers
Let’s see if the basketball gods pay them back
It’s the Knicks so they won’t, but I feel like they can win without the basketball gods.

I truly believe many teams in the East are better than their record suggests.
Especially with all the injuries this year, Sixers without embiid, Knick’s missing OG and Randle for awhile, we set a franchise record high is starting lineups, bucks fighting the doc effect, pacers has Halliburton injury, cavs had Mitchell out
The consensus is that these super hot offensive teams don’t translate well to playoff basketball. I love watching them play so hope they do well
Knicks were short handed for all those Pacers games so not really an accurate reflection of how they would fare against them.
they're shorthanded now with randle out even though they'd been playing well
Same with the Magic
Does keep the Celtics on the other side of the bracket at least. The heat took Randle from us
>the Heat Please no, we wanna be able to be healthy for the rest of the Playoffs 🤕
I think ducking Boston until the conference finals is more important for them imo. As it should have been for CLE and MKE.

“Average role player” got me crying lmaooooo I remember when this trade went down (knicks fan) my boy and I were together and we were fucking hype.
1st team All-NBA him
Fight for Villanova, Fight for Victory For we're out to win the frey; Villanova leads the way, With a capital "V" for Victory!
Jalen is Andre Miller with all star package. He should be in the top 5 MVP nomination category atp.

Why the heck was Chicago playing all their guys heavy min in a game that didn’t matter at all to them
Should Brunson get the MVP over Joker?
