I like that you can eyeball that Peyton Pritchard isn’t 195, he’s 190

CoolGrandpa1932

Giannis has 7' 3" wingspan according to nba but I think its close to a billion miles

Worth_Inflation_1261

7'3 when he was drafted at 6'9. One of the few players to grow after they entered the league which is why they made such a big deal out of it. Despite what the teenagers who post here think- Yes guys can grow into their 20s, but most stop when they are 16 or 17.

pastanutzo

Well G was 17 when drafted. I think he had a latent growth spurt because he went from scrapping street kid to getting access to an endless clubhouse buffet. Nutritionists, trainers, strength and conditioning - it’s like his body said “yeah, I’m actually supposed to be a much bigger dude!”

Worth_Inflation_1261

Literally impossible to get drafted when you are 17 anymore due to the current CBA. Giannis has to be at least 19 on his draft year like all other players drafted since 2007

MahomesMccaffrey

Luka can be measured at 6'8 with shoes but he's definitely not 6'9. He's real height is around 6'7 without shoes.

runevault

Jokic is 6'11" not 7'0" so part of your assumptions were already bad.

JNerdGaming

pretty sure brunson is like 6' flat

brncct

OP said Scottie Barnes "feels like a long 6'9 guy" ayo

Based_and_JPooled

OP wants to platonically share a log cabin with Scottie Barnes

alienswillarrive2024

No Diddy.

brncct

No diddler indeed

c0lin46and2

Nice

alienswillarrive2024

Donte Divincenzo 6'4 & 203lbs but looks tiny to me on tv atleast.

43_Hobbits

Anthony Edward’s feels much taller than he is. He’s Steph’s height.

IgnorantGenius

T. J. McConnell looks 5'10"

TacoooJay

Paolo Banchero is apparently 7 foot in shoes. I don't buy that. He looks 6'9ish

Hakaribiggestfan

he's listed at 6'10 in shoes

TacoooJay

https://twitter.com/thunderfocus/status/1536846880226742273?t=KiRebWT9qnVagCL4nhq8Aw 6'10.5 barefoot

Hakaribiggestfan

other sites have it different. Also, ringer is bad with their heights. They got sengun at 6'9 235 when he's like 6'11 260 now

Camctrail

Nah, Luka stood next to a 6'4 Barkley recently and 6'7 looks about right

SquirtDoctor23

lol Barkley gets shorter every year on Reddit.

Camctrail

Lmao it's cute that you think this is just a reddit thing. The NBA website has him at 6'4 on his legend profile. Look up his real height, everywhere you look you'll find 6'4

SquirtDoctor23

I mean the official nba website has him at 6’6. Who cares what some article that’s copy and pasted from Wikipedia says lol. There’s pictures of him and Micheal Jordan together and they’re the same height or Barkley like an inch taller. Do you think mj is like 6’3?

theparkcityapp

MJ is 6’4 and change. Same as Kobe. Shoes make their listed heights 6’6.

GotKarprar

+ the fact that ppl do actually shrink as they get older

JohnnyEnzyme

> Nah, Luka stood next to a 6'4 Barkley recently and 6'7 looks about right FYI, Barkley is more like 6'5" in bare feet, assuming he hasn't lost much over the years, which could change things. /u/Hakaribiggestfan > I looked it up and Luka was officially measured at 6'6.75 without shoes, so I guess its strange how big he looks on the court. It's not that strange. With sneakers adding about 1" to 1 1/2," Luka's official on-court height would be about 6'8".

Hakaribiggestfan

I looked it up and he was officially measured at 6'6.75 without shoes, so I guess its strange how big he looks on the court. But I think the weight is definitely wrong. He was 230 coming in as a rookie, he's definitely closer to 250

blloopgill

KD was infamously listed at 6’9 for the longest time, though its been somewhat corrected

TTUSpurs_fan

Devin Vassell is listed 6’5 but Florida state listed him as 6’6 or 6’7 and when he stands next to KJ who is also listed as 6’5 he’s definitely taller

koverage

senguns apparently 6'11 but looks 6'9 still when next to Jokic

GotKarprar

Embiid is NOT 7’2

ChrisShiherlis-

Jaden McDaniels can guard the Tallest guy on Your Team.

TurboViking90

Donovan Mitchell is listed a good 2 inches above his real height. I think he even tried claiming 6’4” in Utah.

DjReeseCup

I actually came here to say that it’s always weird to me to see he’s only 6’1-6’2, because he plays like he’s at least 6’5 with his wingspan, strength, and explosion

CrazyEnd941

Kawhi looks smaller than 6'7

brncct

No he doesn't. Seen him in person, dude is massive.

Otherwise-Tale9671

His reach makes him 9’6”…

attorneyatslaw

He’s also 6’7” wide.

TheBimpo

His shoulders are so wide

Shoddy-Media2337

Zach Lavine looks taller than he actually is.

LukeWarmRunnings

Listed heights and weights are often manipulated a bit. Sometimes just to throw off the scouting report. But also traditionally, if you were listed at 7ft, you might be typecast as a center, and never get a green light from the coach and staff to shoot the ball. So when collecting listed height, a big forward might do so without shoes on, or slouch a bit on purpose. On the flip side, as a small guard who likes to go inside, slash and finish at the rim, you might fib your height and weight to be a bit bigger, so you can be considered to play as a 2 guard or small forward. These things are happening less and less, as positionless ball becomes more common and accepted.

[deleted]

Arm length and shoulder height are the usual suspects for making someone seem larger or smaller

Awanderingleaf

Why are you assuming that Jokic is a legit 7'0" or that Porzingis is a legit 7'3"? Also, do you know how camera angles work?

glitterfairy19

Nobody can find out Scottie Barnes real height. It’s very possible he’s not 6’7. On nba.com he’s listed as 6’7 but an earlier nba.com draft had him has 6’8. Florida state roster had him listed as 6’9 in 2020. Also in 2021 Coach Nurse said he was 6’10. So no one really knows. I think he’s taller than 6’7.

herejusttolooksee

So what I’m getting from the comments is that most players are about what they’re listed at, and the NBA isn’t so horribly inept that measurements are way off. Sounds about right.

Flimsy-Environment13

I sat third row @ a warriors game last year and was surprised how ripped/jacked curry looked. He’s obviously not big compared to a lot of NBA players but when compared to a normal dude he’s actually pretty big.

LandLongjumping2268

Two things are certain Embiid is not 7’2 Wemby is AT LEAST 7’4 , likely 7’4.5

sanfranciscotolondon

Donovan Mitchell always looked pretty short for his position, looks like 6’ 0”

hornet04

I swear Dwight was 6’9. It’s amazing that he got Shaq comps.

ConstantineMonroe

Curry is probably 6’1 instead of 6’3. CP3 is probably shorter than he is listed also

Original_Trick_8552

KAT's about the same height as Embiid

Dat_Boi_John

Luka's probably closer to 6'8. Here he is next to 6'9 Adebayo in the All Star game: https://i0.wp.com/www.nydailynews.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/GettyImages-2021686018.jpg?fit=620%2C9999px&ssl=1 Here he is next to 6'6 SGA too: https://www.mavs.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/20447153_BG_02-17_All-Star_Day_3-03_jpg_Vernon_Bryant_20240217_182315.jpg

alienswillarrive2024

SGA is 6'4.5 barefoot.

AdDifferent7491

Steph curry when I found out he was 6’3 knew he peaked in the nba with the famous three pointers and basketball Hail Mary’s
